I'm not a big Needless Markup fan, but I like to check it out when I'm in the mall to people watch.

I was in the Woodland Hills area on business while in LA back in November and decided to stop by the mall and go in Neiman Marcus and Nordstrom. We have a Saks near my home in Alabama, but no NM or Nordstrom, so I was really looking forward to checking these two stores out. The first thing I noticed (other than the very attractive sales associate in cosmetics) was how small the store is. The men's section is really lacking. I was looking for a particular shirt by a designer that only sales his clothing line at Neiman's and Sak's, but this NM store didn't carry it (I later had to order it from NeimanMarcus.com). All in all, a nice store located in a pretty, upscale indoor shopping mall, but it is a little too small. Someone in an earlier post referred to this NM location as a boutique Neiman Marcus which is a very fair assessment. read more

It's sad to say that Neiman Marcus has the worst customer service for any store. I'm a weekly work traveler and purchased a pair of Gucci flats mid March. I'm finally home for a week and got to wear them, two times for a short period of time. I got a bad blister on my left foot. As a type 1 diabetic that's not good. I finally connected with Amy the shoe department manager who was the rudest and most unprofessional employee. I might as well have been at a discount store. She basically said too bad she won't do an exchange and gave me a F U look. I explained my travel and my health situation and how the shoes caused a health issue. Well too bad! I've trashed my NM card. I will never go back because of Amy's attitude. I spoke with Bob Lugari he is the store manager and he maintain the position that they won't give an exchange and told me to sell the shoes on the reel reel. OMG next step corporate read more

One might think when spending $325 on a perfume, you would get better customer service than a group of women leaning on the glass counter ignoring you. I actually felt like I was bothering them when I interrupted them to make a purchase. I'm so upset that I didn't just make my large purchase online and skip this horrible experience from a high end retailer. I'm just used to the level of service I receive at Nordstrom that I was greatly disappointed in my shopping experience here. read more

I LOVE this Neiman Marcus. Every time I go this location exemplifies luxury shopping. I'm treated like a high profile client every time. Gage who works in all departments of the store is my favorite stylist to work with. He is so educated in every aspect of the fashions they carry. If you don't ask for him when you o into the store you are making a HUGE mistake. No matter what department insist that he's the one to help you or call and make an appointment with him. He should be the stylist for the whole store really. read more

It is not that bad, but you have to approach a sales associate in order to get help. I was never approached or greeted by any associate even when several of them walked by me when the store was not even busy. When I asked for help though they were friendly and did help me. I was interested in a pair of pants and went to this particular associate at the register about purchasing it. She was extremely friendly and let me know all about it. I really liked her help. I ended up not getting the pants though and they don't accept Visa for payments, just Amex. Overall, the people working there are friendly. The women's selection of ready-to-wear isn't very large. read more

The worst customer service ever. save your money and time and shop at Bloomingdales, Nordstrom or Saks. The store manager "Bob" I can't understand how even he is working in that position. Another store in the Topanga mall that does not welcome african American consumers. I use to buy all my jo Malone here. Until I realized that I wasn't being greeted as quickly as "other" races. There have been several times I was left waiting at the fragrance counter and was not assisted. I stopped shopping here. read more

I had an unpleasant exchange with Neiman Marcus man's store sales associate, Armine Galiomjyan, on 11.16.2020/3:30pm at the Westfield Topanga Mall location in Canoga Park, CA. I was dropping off a couple of fur coats and a hat to be cleaned, glazed, and stored as I do annually. The first associate who I encountered did not know if the NM Topanga location still accepted furs due to newer restrictive laws/bans on fur. She immediately began making phone calls to her team/management to problem solve. Another associate, Armine Galiomjyan, walked up to the same register and began questioning me, in an accusatory manor, about who told me to drop the furs off. She repeatedly said that the NM Topanga location does not accepts fur. I responded by saying that I spoke with someone in customer service and was told to bring the furs to customer service as I normally would. Armine proceeded to question me about which store I called and was adamant that I could not have spoken with customer service at NM Topanga because those calls were routed to corporate. To provide more clarity, I even told her that I talked with an associate at NM Topanga who then transferred me to the in house customer service department. Armine kept telling me "No you didn't" and "You had to have called the Beverly Hills store. Are you sure." The initial associate I encountered hung up the phone and told me that an associate was on their way assist me. I was so happy that she sorted everything out. The associate came out to greet me and walked me back to the customer service offices where she works. Armine never physically or verbally acknowledged me as we walked away with the associate. She did not have the decency to say "I'm sorry about the confusion" or "I'm glad they were able to figure everything out." After dropping off the furs to exit the store, I walked by Armine at the register and she was silent. I stopped and told her that, as a client, I should not be shamed and treated like imbecile. She responded "You said that you called customer service. We don't have customer service here." I told her that she was rude and she replied "I'm rude?" Armine then opened the drawer at the register and handed me a business card and said "Here. You can complain to corporate." I left Neiman Marcus feeling that I was unwelcome and a nuisance. FYI: There was only one customer in the mens department and he was not being tended to at all (three associates were in the vicinity). read more

I was in the market for the white / black color block Chanel espadrilles and decided to check if they had them here. They weren't on display, so I kindly asked if they had the ones I wanted in the back, just to make sure. The man I asked, CARLOS, snapped at me very rudely and said "whatever we have out is what we have" with an attitude. I was also looking to purchase Hunter rain boots, but after his bad customer service, I'll buy them elsewhere. read more

Do NOT buy from NM online. They would cancel your order without notifying you what is canceled or why. You will wait and then find out "damn, my order is canceled". Think when it is happened before a holiday, a birthday, an anniversary, a father/Mother's Day, etc. Especially the product is limited for a only short period of time, and when the order is canceled, the product is no longer available for re-order. This is what happened to me. They completely screwed a sweet and nice Christmas gift surprise. BTW, When I called the customer service to point me to the terms state those potential reasons to cancel an order, she hung up my phone. I still don't see where in the website are those reasons for cancellation listed. I will avoid Neiman Marcus and go to Bloomingdales or Nordstrom for general available brands and go to retail store for a particular brand with better service, online and offline. read more

What would I do without NM? It has all my favorite brands, friendly service, plenty of parking and valet if there isn't. I'm greeted with smiles and treated with respect no matter how I look that day. There are more sales people to customers than most department stores, so I never have to wait to be helped or stand in line at the checkout counter. The dressing rooms are huge and you are offered bottled water while you shop/dress. The service at the couture department is excellent and includes free tailoring. I must admit that when I first came here, I was put off by the smaller size in comparison to Nordstrom, but now I appreciate how the layout is more compact and easier to shop in a short amount of time. I don't have to search and search for the right top, because everything is right! I would buy the whole CUSP department if I could! Yes, this store is more expensive than Macy's or Nordstrom, but only because the brands are higher end. I normally hate going to the mall, but NM makes shopping a breeze! read more

Worst customer service..They don't give customers any warning that they closed and the only warning you get are the lights turning off and all the doors get locked towards the mall entrance making you exit to the outside and they don't cater to any customer by opening the door in case they have to finish shopping in the mall read more

Finally had a sales person with great customer service !!!!!! I would rather order my evening gowns and cocktail dresses on line rather than deal with snooty sales girls .Honestly why ? Considering the amount we spend every time we shop there .Just because sometimes we paying customers decide to dress down and be super casual doesn't mean we won't spend the money on high end dresses or shoes .My past experience have been snooty rude sales ladies that don't want to bother with helping you find the perfect fit or size with high end dresses. I decided to stop by today since I always valet my car also high end at Neiman when I go to the Topanga Mall . I saw an amazing dress that I asked to try on but unfortunately was not my size . To my suprise the sales girl that helped me today right away called other locations and searched online to offer the right size for me and have it delivered. I've never been to NM at Beverly Hills, but I heard that the service there is not that great. I've gone to this NM for a few times and I like it. One of the staffs, Stephanie gave me a full tour of the place and always helps me when I go there. She would tell me about the new products and one time I was buying Sisley products and told her that I was also looking for a nice purse. She showed me a few purses and even carried some that I had my eyes on with her around the store while I checked out others so I could compare them. I was walking from one counter to another and from one side of the store to another and she didn't mind at all. Also, I was at Sisley counter (I know I mention Sisley again, it's good stuff) and told her that I was also interested in buying a perfume. She went to grab me some to try on and asked a few of the perfume sale people to bring theirs so I could try and choose them. She didn't pressure me to buy at that moment and offered to make me a few samples. She told me to wear each for a day so I could decide which one I liked best and even if i didn't like any of them, I didn't have to feel the pressure to buy. She was very patient and helped me for like an hour and I really appreciated that. One time I bought Sisley facial wash for combination skin and it made my skin too dry and even though I had opened and used it, they were willing to give me a full refund with no explanations needed. Wow!! I exchanged it for the sensitive skin one instead. Love this place, though most of their stuffs are extremely pricey and the parking is free, too. pros: Staffs and service, good upscale stuffs cons: They do NOT accept Visa or Master cards in stores, only online. OK, a big fan of Neimans, for almost 20 years. Always the Beverly Hills store. Had no plan of ever going to the new one...then I did. I had to return something, and I live in the valley....so out of convenience, I went. Much easier to shop. I don't know why...open, bright, only 2 levels....for whatever reason, I love this store. Ballancianga, Marni, Joe's jeans, 7 for all Mankind, Channel, Helmut Lange, Rachel Zoe, all to find....and seriously, the prices (except for the super high end) are not bad. I've always said that about Neimans, you can actually find amazing deals, as well as the super expensive. A true fan! (And don't miss their sales!) The shoe department is more friendly than BH, and the sales people really add a personal touch. I guess that is what I miss at BH...except for Robert, in skin care/perfumes BH, he's fabulous!, sales people in BH really aren't as friendly or helpful as this store. Silva is so nice! I used to have a great sales man in shoes in BH, but once he left, I see the same sales people, but I have never been treated nicely there again. Then I looked at boots in Canoga Park, and was treated like I was special. I am just an ordinary, hard woking woman, who appreciates well made shoes and clothes....who is treated like some one famous. I am a big fan! They just need to add a martini bar! read more

Very very disappointing I have been a customer of Neiman Marcus for over 20 years and I had the worst experience and the biggest humiliation ever I have been shopping there for 20 years and never ever experienced such customer service. I received a creed perfume as a gift and after I have been using it the spray stop working and and if it wasn't a bottle priced at over $500.00 I decided to take it to the store for them to replace the spray but they couldn't so I requested to be exchanged or replaced, again they gave me a business card to call the representative in charge of creed but again nothing for her to do, basically I was told to throw away the $500.00 bottle away unbelievable. And I just purchased less than a week ago a hand bag (YSL) what a mistake to give this organization business so disappointed I just can't believe it never again not a penny will be spent in that store. read more

Unfortunately the return policy leaves lots be desired! Almost any high end store, or low end for that matter, will at least give you store credit for the item at its current selling price especially brand new, tags attached and receipt!! Well not here and this place is a place of "NO". Should change name at this location, especially in Handbags to "NO MAN" Marcus run by old hags!! No dialogue, no reasonable explanation, no exceptions, No No No a thousand times NO!!!!! I live 2 hours out of town and my son and I both had serious accidents with head injuries and broken bones, he's young, 12. We had been recovering all year and I tried explaining to manager that I haven't been able to make the drive to return the item, which is still selling at full price, but No, No No exceptions!! Not listening, Don't care, and OF COURSE the loathsome zombiotic response, "It wouldn't be fair to all the others we said NO too"!!!!! How awful to have spent my life's savings at Neimans and literally be treated like a dog!!! Will never shop here ever again!!! Ignorant sales people and staff! My guess is place will be gone soon, it's always empty and most employees do not care about the customer, with a few exceptions. I am completely tattooed head to toe.. I walked into Neiman Marcus expecting to be ignored like every other store had done earlier that day.. Bridget Reynolds IMMEDIATELY greeted me with a huge smile and told me how gorgeous my tattoos were. She asked me if I needed help - She was so so kind and assisted me with the Prada purse I was looking at. The store was very slow so we got to talking a bit and she couldn't have been more amazing to me. SO polite, SO sweet and hilarious. Neiman Marcus "was" once an amazing store with beautiful merchandise and excellent customer service. This is NO LONGER the case. The staff at the Topanga Woodland Hills store are rude and unprofessional. The upper level management (Bob Lugari) and corporate are even worse. The store itself is run down and tired looking. The hanging butterflies that decorate the store are dull and dusty. The dressing rooms are run down and dark. The entire store has a very negative vibe, with very few people shopping. After being a customer/ cardholder for over 20 years I have closed my account and will not spend another dollar in Neiman Marcus again. They do not value their customers. I will be very interested to see how soon this location closes. read more

I love NM Topanga, they have the best customer service. I feel so good when I go there. Sales person always helped me and they are friendly.

Ordered a pair of YSL shoes online for $595 but when I got the item the sticker says $446! I went to the store to return the shoes. When I asked the agent nicely about the price, he answered "I don't know. If you want to rebuy the shoes you might get the price you wanted." With his poor customer service, I wouldn't have a second thought returning the shoes. Told him I'm not rebuying those shoes. I just want to find out why the prices are different ( which I think is fair since I'm the one paying for the item)He said " I don't know. I wish I have some answers for you." Then, after he did the return process, he came back and handed me the receipt and told me "Ok, we're done!" and walked away. Never really had a good experience with NM. Every single time I get something online, things like this happens. I get either dents on the leather or cracks on the plates. As for customer service, NM has the worst! Ridiculous attitudes! The only time I shop at NM is when my siZe is not available Saks or Nordstrom. Saks Fifth in Beverly Hills has the best customer service, maybe you should learn from them. read more

this is review on the Chanel and the Louis Vuitton store within Neiman Marcus. Great customer service at both stores. There is a very cool Asian SA that works at Chanel, Gucci and Prada. She owns several guns and is pretty tall, that's the only information I can recall from talking with her. I asked her which Chanel purse/wallet/clutch is a good starter and she kindly directed me to their starter clutch. The clutch was so large that it could have def been a small purse for me. The price was 2700 and she told me the chances of it going up was very high since there are two price increases for purses each year. Yikes! She was very informative and interesting to talk to. The SA at the Louis vuitton store was a younger half African american/white female. The only thing I remember from my conversation was that she graduated from USC. Smart girl! She was super sweet and I enjoyed talking to her. She was professional but also personable. This is where I found my made in France Damier ebene trevi pm! I exchanged mine from San Diego (made in USA) for this one. I was ecstatic to have found this one. I exchanged it and bought a men's epi line wallet for my bf. I am def coming back here and hopefully the same SA is there when I return. read more

I track shipment shows its been delivered to a wrong address by FedEx. The store tells me you have to call a special number for refunds or credit on line store can't help me either it's a 3rd party agent that's bs !!! This review is specifically for the Chanel boutique. Overall pleased with my experience. I was looking for an apparently(??) rare item and my sales associate helped me track it down. I've had better sales associates at other locations- regardless glad I got the item I came in for. Side note- the shoe department needs to step it up! Went in w/ a friend and ended up purchasing a pair of Louboutins. We were on an extremely tight time schedule (which I informed the sales associate of). She then proceeded to take THIRTY minutes to wrap/ package the shoes. Overkill + honestly annoying. I don't need a pair of shoes ornately wrapped (aware this is somewhat trivial) but sales associates should be more aware of customers requests. read more

My wife tried to return two pairs of pants that i purchased in store at the same time. Mind you they did not have the correct size when I was in store so we assumed the next size up would work. They mailed me the pants and do to my work schedule I was not able to return the pants in 30 days which I learned after my wife tried to return them was the policy. They returned one pair but not the other. I never wore the pants except to try them on in my home. There was a piece of lint and the manager said we can't return them because there could be a chance that the person who buys them can be allergic ? The pants were delivered in a card board box from Nieman's mind you. I will never shop here and will only shop at Nordstrom's. Very poor customer service. If I treated customers in my business the way my family was treated I would not be in business. read more

Pleasant Neiman Marcus at the Topanga mall, great cafe to shop and dine, great selection of high-end designers, good customer service, and inviting staff. I prefer this Neiman's over the one in Beverly Hills for a number of reasons, one being the customer service, this location get's it. The Beverly Hills location is not quite inviting, very snobby, which always amazes me when these are working people we are talking about here. Beautiful store also, love the butterflies hanging from the sky, so chic and trendy. The only negative I have for this Neiman's is there is no Lanvin, which happens to be my favorite designer, so I have order my Lanvin fix from the Las Vegas store but that's a whole other story. This is a note I sent to Neiman Marcus. It was sent to the salesperson, department manager and the store manager. The only person to have the decency to answer me was the salesperson. As you know, I came in with your customer XXXX, a few months ago (when you worked in the dress department). You helped me purchase a stunning Phoebe black and white striped gown. This was the dress of my dreams, and it was for my son's wedding. I purchased shoes and a purse to complement the dress. As you know, I came back to N-M three more times, to get alterations, on what seemed like some very doable fixes. (Traveling from the Beverly Hills area, this was an effort.) On my last visit to N-M, the dress was still not right and the alterations woman agreed to make more changes while N-M treated me to lunch (thank you!). When I returned for my next try-on, I was bitterly disappointed to see: 1) the waisted dress had somehow become empire -- which looked dreadful and ruined the flow of the skirt, 2) the outline of one of the two sewn-in bra cups was completely visible, 3) the bodice still didn't fit well, 4) the bodice had pinholes and 5) the bodice had a dirt stain (something like a pencil mark) which it did not have previously. The Saleswoman working with me, asked no questions and immediately gave me a full refund for the dress and alterations. That was appreciated. However, the fact is that I left without a dress for my son's wedding. I did not get the sense that the dress department personnel thought it was a very big deal. There was no effort to find me another dress or to follow up. Although I met the department manager before lunch, I never saw her in the afternoon or heard from her subsequently. This for me, is a terrible situation, and I don't get the sense that store management understood this. I am very disappointed in N-M. I realize that you are no longer in the dress department, but I would appreciate it if you would forward this to: 1) the dress department manager and 2) the store manager. Of the three Neiman Marcus stores I visit with some regularity (this one, Fashion Island, and Beverly Hills), this one is my favorite, despite the fact that I think it may be the smallest. Service is exactly what I like from a high-end department store. I prefer to be left alone, unless I have a lot of stuff I want to try on. If I have a question, I will seek an associate. I know this isn't a popular opinion, as some seem to think a higher price tag automatically equates being waited on, but frankly, I don't want people pushing for a higher commission or trying to sell me stuff that doesn't fit my tastes. When I have needed service here, I have always found the salespeople to be helpful. Regardless of how I am dressed, I have always had good service here. They will start a room for you, check on you once you are in said room, and offer you a small complimentary water. I primarily shop the contemporary Cusp department, though have also made purchases in cosmetics. I've browsed shoes and handbags. If you are dead set on a particular cosmetic or shoe or handbag brand, you might want to make sure they carry it, because the amount of lines they have here isn't as comprehensive as what they carry at the bigger stores. I appreciate this store because it's not as much of a tourist spectacle as Beverly Hills is, the parking is fairly simple, and the store is clean. They don't have as much volume of product, but the items they have are well edited, at least in the Cusp department. They do occasionally have sales, and I've actually found some great clothing deals here. I find service here to be more consistent than the other two locations I mentioned, and they are less pretentious and fake here than the BH location. Those who complain about their prices..this is a high end department store. Prices are the same, for this merchandise, regardless of where you purchase it. Don't knock stores a star or two for not falling in the economic category you desire. Also, they do now accept all major credit cards, which I appreciate. Overall, if you're in the market for something nice, I'd recommend this Neiman Marcus. I've had nothing but good experiences here. read more
