I really don't consider myself a Neiman's type of girl... As a matter of fact, I don't really feel comfortable in Neiman's - it's extremely 'fancy' and high end for me. But, I've gone in a handful of times and even bought a dress or two on sale at Neiman's in the past. I admit, the quality associated with the designer labels at this store is pretty amazing. Anyways, I felt some major pressure to register at Neiman's from my mom, so I met my mother-in-law-to-be at this Neiman's location on Sunday. The housewares / registry department is extremely small... and although the woman working was sweet, she botched the spelling of Jared's name in the process. Needless to say, i was not so impressed. I have learned to create a judgement for certain places before I even go in. Most the time the reputation of the establishment usually precedes them. Neimans staff usually does a great job at making you feel like you don't belong. As if they're the guest willing to spend hundreds of dollars, if not thousands, in one shopping moment. As it was, my two experiences with this location were completely opposite of my expectations. I wanted and needed to start a new skincare line. I recently got a promotion at work and apart of my health and wellness stipend, I need to include beauty, as I am a very visible person. So I went into Neimans, as one does, to start my journey. Before I walked up to the counter, one of the gentleman welcomed me and asked how he could assist me. Stupidly I say, I need to create a new face skincare, anti-aging regiment. I thought saying everything at once would make me feel more confident and confuse the guy helping me. But instead he smiled and said, let's get you started. He welcomed me to a seat and started looking at my face while asking what my skin type was. I had no idea what that meant. After more investigation, he asked how much longer I was here, I said 2 weeks. So he sent me home with ten days worth of different items. Face wash, toners, serums, and moisturizer. All very overwhelming but it was step my step! It was great! Also some shampoo and conditioner and face mask. After ten days I came back ready! I'm so happy at the incredible and Amazing personal attentiveness I received. Had this not happen I would have probably just went somewhere else. I decided on some La Mer and Sisley products! Bought a cleanser, exfoliator, toner, serum, moisturizer, oil, mask and eye stuff. A small fortune but because of the service, I was happy to be taken in a journey of customizable care. I don't remember his name. I think Evan. I could tell he was Russian or something from his accent. I was sad he wasn't there when I went back to purchase my items. read more

If you order anything from Neiman Marcus, do not expect that you will ever receive it. If you buy anything that has an attached gift card, do not ever assume that the gift card will be good. Neiman's is perpetrating an ongoing scam with their tiered gift cards. The scam works like this: they will advertise tiered gift cards on their website where the more you spend the more you will receive in gift cards . The earned gift cards are supposed to be sent out after merchandise is mailed and received by purchaser. The only problem is you never receive the items you've ordered, or you'll get a message that the item you ordered is back ordered and here is what they suggest as a substitute item. If you pick the substitute item and buy it, your gift card is no longer valid. In November 2022 I purchased thousands of dollars of gifts at Neiman's for my clients. At the time I purchased these gifts, they all had a promotion where for every $250 you spent you got a $50 gift card. After making my purchases, I received emails that the items I had purchased were no longer available, but that I could substitute in an item, and there were suggestions given as to which items would work to substitute. You pick the substitute items which are then delivered and you think everything is OK and your gift card will come to you, however, your gift card has been canceled because of the substitution. Since November I have placed dozens of calls to Neiman's customer service, to the Scottsdale store and even left messages for the store manager, Tim Braun, which have never been returned. I went into the store this weekend and talk to a customer service person who told me "never order anything off the website as you will never receive it". Neimans is running a fraudulent scheme to drive up sales by offering tiered gift cards. When they have no intentions of ever providing gift cards offered, and in most cases, they don't even have the merchandise to ship that is purchased.. Since neither the store manager nor their customer, service department is willing to make good on the gift cards that are due to me I have filed complaints with the Arizona Attorney General's office, the Better Business Bureau, leaving reviews on yelp and several other areas to warn people about the fraudulent scheme that Neiman's is perpetrating. This is so sad in many ways as I love shopping at Neiman's for many years. So, immediately after posting my review, Neiman's customer service posted on my review to contact them that they would take care of the issues immediately. I contacted Neiman's customer service via the email they sent me and explained my situation, they put me in touch with a customer service manager, who assured me the issue would be resolved. Several days later, I received an email from the person I was assigned to who like everybody else at Neiman customer service claims that because I substituted out items on my purchases when the items I purchased weren't available, the tiered gift cards that I qualified for were canceled. they also said they would look into the fact that I ordered an item in January that was showing backordered after I purchased it and would be shipped March 1, 23. The item never shipped, the customer service department never returned my calls after the original contact declining the tiered gift cards that were due to me. Several days later, after no response from the customer service department I called in and requested cancellation of the item that was back ordered since it appeared it was not going to ship. I was told the item would be canceled. As of today, four days later, the item still has not been canceled, so once again, the customer service department is worthless. I do have to say that my complaint was also forwarded to the local Neiman store in Scottsdale. I received a call from the store manager, Tim B. Who did everything in his power to try and fix the situation. I was very impressed that he stepped in and helped take care of an issue that he neither caused nor was his store involved with. For this, I am very thankful that Tim stepped up, but I'm still disgusted with their online customer service department. read more

My husband ordered my bday gift and the box it was shipped in was cut open and resealed, gift stolen. Neiman Marcus refuses to replace the stolen item. It was more than $1500 and we've gotten no support from Neiman Marcus. My husband purchased other items online from Neiman Marcus without any issues and here we are fighting for them to replace the purchase. Absolutely done spending money at NM. read more

The perfume section is large and very well stocked, but above all, its employees are stellar. Even on a busy day they spend the time necessary to help a customer choose. Buy or no buy, one is treated the same. They are generous with samples. They know their subject, too. Ms. Nayeen at Dior and Ms. Orozco at Chanel are outstanding: courteous, patient, knowledgeable and never pushy. Ms. White is peerless. I wish I remembered the name of the employee who showed me the Malle and van Cleef lines: it was like having a shopping buddy. Only 4/5 because perfume does not have to cost so much. read more

The customer service at Neiman Marcus is top notch. Every time I visit the store I am greeted by EVERY sales associate, but not in an overbearing kind of way. And lets face it, their merchandise is not cheap. So if I am going to be making purchases I want to make sure I feel good buying my stuff! Also, the store is clean and easy to navigate. To my surprise, we were assigned a sales associate to follow us around the store for our entire visit...why? I genuinely do not understand the purpose of this. I know it's to not to intimidate customers, but it's pretty weird. Especially with covid, I would expect more distanced shopping and help from sales associates - not having one right on your back. I have been a loyal customer for at least 3 years. I love the Brunello Cucinelli selection at Neiman and Sharon Berman is amazing. Top quality product with top quality service. Sharon watches for products I wish for and notifies me by email or text. She is available and kind and genuine. She is a gentle fashion adviser when my choices are not flattering and has great ideas for styling. I would also acknowledge Michelle Robinson at the designer shoe department. Same professionalism and personalized service. Five stars for those departments and those two wonderful employees. The only reason for a 4 Star is previous experiences at the Sisley counter (past employee who no longer works at Neiman's) and current employee who was helping me with an exchange. The experiences were related to the associates language and lack of knowledge with products, that made me feel unwelcome or distrustful respectively. The store is always awesome I went to Estée Lauder today and got some perfume. A friendly guy named I think Ivan helped me he was great checked us out promptly and since we spend a lot we got a beautiful gift with purchase:)). The cafe used to be fabulous and I've been going here for 6 years but today a bleached blonde with tons of makeup and horrible attitude who bragged about a hangover to people who came after us (and got their drinks and food before she even asked what we wanted to drink I had to ask her myself as she was walking by and ignoring us for 25 min) and wasn't supervised (normally miss Rachael is there and the service is brilliant) but today cafe was horrible and I had to leave. The economy is in the shitter and I KNOW NM is suffering. You would think that upper management would have spread the word that now is the time to be friendly to customers. I realize this is a foreign concept. I'm not a high roller or anything, but I do spend serious cash when provoked. I bought my first Balenciaga bag a couple years ago, and did get a nice thank-you card from the SA; however, when the tassels started to split six months later, I inquired about replacements. Crickets. No follow up. That is sloppy, sloppy, sloppy. When I bought another Balenciaga, the guy working barely stopped checking out all the passersby long enough to ring me up. Barely a thank-you. No note. And this was just a few months ago, when we all knew for real what kind of economic shit the economy was in. Sloppy. The straw was broken this past weekend, when I stopped by to redeem a frequent shopper gift card. The snotty blonde cow working at the Chanel counter looked outwardly irritated by my purchases. She made sure to make handwritten notes all over my receipt and the NM stickers on the products themselves that they were purchased with said gift card. What, so I don't sneak back and try to return a half-used $30 mascara? Seriously? Now that bad-ass Barney's is in town, NM has got some serious competition. You'd think on opening weekend, NM would have been making an extra effort, not staffing the most popular cosmetics counters with angry cougars who act like their estrogen prescription ran out without refills. The salesman, Chris P, was extraordinarily helpful navigating me through my choices and affording me the flexibility to exchange the bag because I was taking an educated guess at what my wife would want. I was a little disappointed to find that there is no stand alone Chanel store in AZ so I had no choice but to go to Neiman to find my next Chanel bag. I must say, they have an excellent staff here. The bag I wanted to see was not in stock so they had it brought over from a store in TX so that I could check it out. The sales associate texted me to let me know the status (when it was shipped, ETA, and when it arrived). When I went back down to see the bag I wasn't impressed - they didn't skip a beat or act like it was the end of the world that I didn't want the bag after they had gone through the trouble of bringing it over. I found another bag that I loved but they didn't have the color I wanted in stock so they ordered it for me and shipped it to the house (Fed Ex - no charge). Ok, is this place ever open? I have come by at all different times and days, and they were closed. Once I finally came there and it was open, I walked in and immediately got dirty looks from employees. They would stare me down and I'd walk up by them and they would spees walk the other way. LITERALLY the entire online website was out of my size and every store in the 48 states but they were able to get the last one left in Hawaii transferred and shipped to me. They were both well groomed and polite sales people to deal with. Anybody looking for black tie event wear, designer brand streetwear, palewave or just nice clean clothing should stop by Neiman Marcus. Update: Childrens department just gave this place it's 2 more stars. They should fire the lot in cosmetics and use the sales people from the childrens department. They were a pleasure to deal with. Neiman Marcus is a great addition to my shopping go-to locations like Nordstrom, and well, Nordstrom. I usually only shop at Nordstrom and Neiman Marcus, sometimes Saks. Anyway. Neiman Marcus has impecable customer service but know that you kind of need to "dress up" to shop here. At least I feel uncomfortable if I come in in yoga gear. The selection is a nice compliment to Nordstrom -- much more tailored and designer specific. My boyfriend loves their men's section. I love their selection of Chanel handbags and other great purses. Plus, the layout of the store is just luxurious and calming. They don't carry MAC here but I love the Chanel, Christian Dior, and Laura Mercier counters. My ONLY complaint is their hours. Ugh. They close at 7 Monday through Saturday and 5 on Sunday. It's an hour earlier than the rest Scottsdale Fashion Square so there have been many times where I've trekked from Nordstrom to Neimans only to find they are closed. If you don't want to go through the mall there is complimentary valet at Neimans. You can park in their private lot but it's on a hill and narrow so if I'm feeling rushed I just valet....but I'm also not the best at parking. NOTE: the only credit card they accept is AMEX. I don't know about intimidating SAs in high end department stores but browsing around at this Neiman Marcus store in Scottsdale was very relaxing & not at all stressful or intimidating. When I was checking out trapeze bags in the Celine section, the SA (i forgot her name, it was like 7 years ago) assigned to that counter was helpful & thoughtfully helped me try/carry the tri-color purse on. She was patient as I was umdecidedly going back and forth w the trapeze or the mini. I ended up pulling the trigger getting a tri-color mini luggage. I used to live along Osborn Rd a few walking distance to the mall but I never dared get inside those high end stores like Neiman so when I had the intention to make a purchase, I was quite stressed but, surprisingly, it was a stress-free, good . You could go a cheaper route, but this is a rookie-rainmaker mistake. For example, the novice rainmaker might cut fashion corners, shopping at T.J. Maxx or the like. Not good. This goes against the entire rainmaking principle. A real rainmaker doesn't cut fashion corners, mainly because he knows his bitches can smell cheap a mile away. This is why the true rainmaker will only come here. Start in the men's department and get yourself a Zegna suit. Now the shoe department for some Ferragamo's. You'll need some silk briefs too. No boxers. And a robe, preferably silk, to look cool in bed. The whole thing should cost you a couple stacks, so be prepared to bring your wife's credit card..the one with the high limit. If you do this right, you'll come out of there looking just like Willie the Wimp did when they buried him in that Cadillac coffin. When you go somewhere with low expectations, sometimes you get pleasantly surprised. Such is the case with my recent visit to the men's departments. I live in Virginia, and the Neiman Marcus store in McLean is the epitome of all things wrong with this company: totally cold, indifferent service and snooty salesmen who clearly do not care about making a sale or making you feel even the least bit welcomed. Even when I stop by after work in a suit and tie, I still get the total cold shoulder. So you can imagine my surprise when my dad and I, both clad casually in jeans, were greeted warmly by three sales associates in the Scottsdale store within minutes. Even when we told them that we were just browsing, we were given smiles and sincere offers for assistance when needed. It was quite a surprise considering that we expected to be totally snubbed. Even though I didn't buy anything on this trip, I'm willing to come back and shop in the men's department next time I'm in town because a) they have a killer tie selection, and b) everyone I met showed me that they care. read more

*****This review is for the Cafe only!***** A friend took me to lunch at the Neiman Marcus Cafe located on the lower level of Neiman Marcus near the men's department. I never knew this Cafe even existed! It was packed, nonetheless. Always a good sign. Sat at the bar. I ordered the Bistro Salad without the turkey. It came with baby spinach, huge chunks of goat cheese, spiced pecans, apples and sun-dried fruit with a sherry vinaigrette. It was delicious! One of the best salads I've ever had. It was a little pricey at 13 dollars, but well worth it. They also served an amazing bread with strawberry butter. Yummmmm. My friend ordered the chicken tortilla soup and said it was fantastic and very filling. Our server and hostess were all very friendly and attentive. Next time you shop at Scottsdale Fashion Square, try the Cafe at Neiman Marcus. You won't be disappointed. read more

The sales people especially in women's handbags are extremely helpful and knowledgeable. It's always a fun shopping trip when you can talk to a sales person about different brands and not feel pressured to buy. I love how the sales representatives are really put together. You definitely get a different vibe from them compared to a store like H&M. Anytime there's a sale, my eyes almost pop out of my head because I want to buy everything in the store. But even sale prices are still too high personally. The store is very clean. They offer a separate valet service but I don't mind parking my own car. read more

I do not normally shop at NM, but when I do it is usually for products that are exclusive to this store or not available in many other places (especially certain cologne). I enjoy every visit to NM. No one is pushy, but instead they are playful, funny, and so accommodating to making sure every experience had in the store is above all expectations. I am more than positive people spend a couple of thousand dollars at a time, but the day I arrived at NM I spent a few hundred. The reason I point that out is because no matter how much I would have spent that day, I was treated with the most respect and best service. I was given water upon talking to a sales associate. I was given so many samples of colognes with my purchase, and I was walked out of the mens department by the associate and was directed to where I was going in the mall by him.
