I went here for Restaurant Week and it was very good The service was great and it was her first day She did fantastic My meal started with a spring roll and miso soup then veggie sushi One roll was avocado cucumber and a sweet potato roll The sweet potato was absolutely delicious The next was mushroom bimbimpop It was not my favorite no broth lack of flavor Overall a success

Spicy Ramen with added mushrooms and kimchee.

This cozy spot is my absolutely favorite for ramen. I typically go for the spicy vegetable ramen and add mushrooms. It is always served piping hot and the spice level is perfect. This is great for us spicy food lovers because we can skip our requests for a side of hot oil or pepper flakes and just dive right into ramen heaven. lol. This particular visit, I added kimchee per the owner's recommendation and it totally elevated my soup. It felt good that she recognized me after several months hiatus. The service felt heartfelt. For that, Neko has a friend in me forever. Dine local.

Have driven by Neko so many times and finally tried it tonight. We loved the fried rice and the sushi was great! We're pretty picky about sushi as well. Everything was very tasty. I forget all the names I know we got Bengal, Yellowtail + Scallion, Crunchy Munchy, Spicy Shrimp Tempura. The fried rice was also VERY good. One of the best in the city.

I have yet to have a bad experience here. Most recently picked up lunch on July 10th. Kept it simple.. I got the Sunday morning roll and the shrimp tempura roll. Plenty of parking available. Whether you eat in or place a pickup order, service is quick. Never loud. It is a comfortable place to sit in and enjoy your meal. My favorite so far is a sushi burrito.

Food: We ordered sushi, a sushi burrito, a spicy tuna roll, and kimchi soup. Everything was so delicious. I highly recommend trying the red bean ice cream after your meal. For the meal, the rice was especially impressive--fresh, clean-tasting, and full of flavor--which made the rolls stand out even more. The rice-to-fish ratio was just right, making every bite enjoyable. It was definitely worth the drive to come here. Service: The service was exceptional. Both the owner and the staff were warm, friendly, and attentive throughout our visit. This is the kind of sushi restaurant I would gladly recommend to others. Ambiance: The restaurant was clean, cozy, and comfortable. The atmosphere felt welcoming and relaxed, making it a great place to enjoy a meal.

A fantastic, tucked away neighborhood sushi restaurant! Came here first a spontaneous lunch out on a Friday and got a seat right away. There aren't a ton of tables inside so I imagine they can get pretty busy at night. They have some great deals on lunch specials. My wife took advantage of the Bento box deal and I got a few rolls, some miso soup, and we split some crab rangoons. The sushi is made fresh behind the bar which was lovely! The menu is affordable, especially for fresh made sushi like this. Overall, this is a fantastic local spot to get some affordable sushi. We'll definitely be back!

Sunday morning roll in the back and Crunch Roll

I've been coming here since before Covid and the service and the sushi is always amazing! One of my favorite places for takeout sushi that's inexpensive and really good. The Sunday morning roll is definitely a favor.

Love stopping by here when we want a cozy dinner out. It's a quaint corner restaurant with limited seating, so get here early because they go fast. They have a broad selection of sushi and a limited selection of Korean food which was a pleasant surprise. Our table got a mix of items and we all enjoyed what we ordered. Ended up going for the Neko Salmon Sushi roll, which is torched to perfection with spicy mayo. If you like seared salmon, definitely try this one. The other roll I got was the Spicy Shrimp Tempura, which was just okay. Lots of sauce and imitation crab which masked the flavor of the shrimp. Otherwise, service was great -- our server checked up on us regularly and promptly brought silverware to our table when he realized we didn't have any with our food. Neko is clearly a Cincinnati staple for many people, and It's clear why -- cozy restaurant, fresh fish, good service, cute cat design on everything..

The sushi was great and they had a great selection of rolls and other entrees as well. I would go back any day!

Really enjoyed my first time at this sushi restaurant. We were able to walk right in and sit down - didn't need a reservation for a Friday night. The sushi was delicious and was a really good size. The one roll we had had "mountain" in the name and it was HUGE. Overall great experience and we will definitely be back.

Sashimi Sampler (3 tuna, 3 yellowtail, 3 salmon)

Enjoyed my first time here! The inside is cozy and clean. The seating is limited but it was not busy (late lunch time) so we got sat quickly. The agedashi tofu appetizer was flavorful with a nice crust outside, soft tofu, and warm light sauce! The naruto roll did not have any rice but the fish, cucumber, and sauce was clean and refreshing. The spicy tuna had a nice spice kick with a great ratio of rice/ fish. The sashimi sampler cuts were very generous and quality was decent. Overall good sushi! The restaurant is also in a very cute neighborhood so we walked around afterward. Will definitely be back!

Not just for ambiance but cleanliness as well. The sushi counter glass (plastic?) was dingy. The tint film on the front windows was peeling off in the corner. The tables and booths tired and worn. Two of the 3 types of sushi we ordered were OK at best. The spicy tuna sushi was not ok. The teriyaki chicken was a filet of chicken breast (overcooked and dry) sliced with a light drizzle of teriyaki sauce atop. The stir fried vegetables served with it were in my opinion reheated or completely overcooked. The service was fine. Only one waitress for the indoor seating.

The dark decor is fun and the restaurant gets crowded and can get loud, but I've never had a hard time finding a spot to sit. Service is always good and while there's the occasional menu snafu, they've always been diligent and kind about fixing things with no issue. The vegetable fried rice is truly one of the best I've had in the city... it's always piping hot the mushrooms and bean sprouts make the dish. The half price sushi is a pretty good deal. I always get the veggie rolls so they're cheap anyway, but my friends and husband enjoy some of the more fancy rolls and always feel full while still not spending a fortune. My favorite is the avocado roll... so simple and creamy and just perfect dipped in soy sauce with a little wasabi and ginger. Ichiban probably doesn't have the best sushi ever... it is the Midwest after all... but the ambiance and fun vibes make the experience and it's a good deal to boot!

The ambiance is casual chic. I loved the lighting, both those hanging from the ceiling and the changing colors on the back wall. Our server was very attentive and sweet. We managed to order a lot of food and most of it was excellent. We were treated to a trio of Spanish peanuts, slightly spicy cucumber and pickled onions that were quite tasty. Taking a taste of each together was a great bite. It was a fun start to the meal. We stared with two appetizers: Stuffed Jalapeños and Chili Dumplings. The stuffed jalapeños were fantastic! I expected them to be spicy hot, but they were not. The stuffing was delicious and each bite was delectable. We highly recommend them. The chili dumplings were also very good, though we've had better. These were spicy, but not overly so. They were good and I'd order them again. Mark ordered one of the lunch specials that offered three rolls. They were good. He liked some better than others. I ordered Sashimi Deluxe, which came with a salad and miso soup. The soup was nice. I liked the dressing on the salad and used it more as a palate cleanser between bites of sashimi rather than relying on the ginger. The sashimi was also hit and miss. The pieces were large, with each easily being twice the size you might find at other establishments. None of them, however, melted in my mouth nor did they elicit yummy sounds. We had dessert. I had Tiramisu cake and Mark had Mango Mousse. His mousse was so good! The tiramisu cake was good, but not outstanding. Both desserts came with strawberries, that were fresh and sweet, and a little scoop of ice cream. I mentioned it was my birthday (because it was) and they gave us my tiramisu case at no charge. That was so sweet! When our server came with the check, she also gave us a token each for the claw machine. What fun! We didn't win a prize, but we won some fun on our way out. We both decided we'd come back without hesitation. We are looking forward to trying ramen next time.

This was fine because the bartender was also our server. She was super sweet and attentive. She also helped us figure out what to order. She mentioned their steak is fantastic. We followed her direction and ordered steak like it was the only thing on the menu. The place is super cute. We started with an order of steak nachos. OMG... this is a meal for the whole table. It was super delicious. Oh... you can have any protein you'd like, but of course we ordered steak. There were a fair number of jalapeños in the mix, but they were nowhere near overly spicy. If you are here for the first time with a group of four or less, you may want to think twice before ordering the nachos because it is a LOT of food. As yummy as it was, it was filling and made eating the rest of our meals a bit of a challenge. Three folks went for one of the lunch specials, which are 1. Burrito (protein of choice) with a small serving of chips and salsa and 2. Two tacos (choice of protein, Birria not included) w/ rice. All three ordered the burrito. I believe everyone got steak. Most could only eat one half. Mark was talking about his burrito hours later. I love Birria and like to try it wherever it is available. I ordered Birria tacos (order of 3). I struggled to eat all three, but I succeeded. Not only were they great, but the star was the taco wrap. It had a slightly salty flavor and tasted freshly made. Mark also commented on the burrito wrap itself. It looked similar to my taco shell/wrap. The taste of the wraps/shell truly elevated the flavor overall. We had to try the Churros for dessert. The serving was much larger than I expected. It can easily be shared by two. It is served warm, which was a treat. Mark didn't love them, but I thought they were a deliciously sweet ending to the meal. If you're feeling full, but still want to try the dessert, go for it but consider sharing. It's fair to say we will return.
