Out of all of the places that sell acai bowls, Nekter has one of the most reasonable prices for size. Their acai bowls are huge-- I don't finish one unless I eat it for lunch. (And with just that one bowl, I'm stuffed.) Service is friendly, but a little slow. The employees like to chitchat amongst themselves, which I don't mind because it's nice to see that they're having fun. But still, if someone has placed an order, they don't start making it immediately... It can take anywhere between 4-6 minutes at times. The environment is nice. I just wanted to share my experience at Nekter today. The woman who served us was named, Alena. From the start of when she took my order, she seemed to be very unpleased with me as a customer. She was absolutely so rude and disrespectful to us. She was giving me attitude and was cutting me off while I was ordering. Never have I ever felt so disrespected by an employee. I made a mistake when ordering and called an ingredient by a different name and she very rudely corrected me. She knew exactly what I was talking about but went out of her way to make me feel stupid. Maybe a customer service job shouldn't be in this woman's career choice because obviously, she doesn't know how to serve customers. If you don't like your minimum wage job, then DONT WORK THERE and find a different job. It's that simple. Overall, she really ruined my experience. I've been here five times in a little over a week if that tells you anything. The acai banana berry bowl and pink flamingo smoothie are my go-to items. They are both soooo good! I know people say the acai banana berry bowl is big enough to split between two people but I always get one all to myself. It seems a little pricey at first since it is about $7 but if you consider how much you're getting (and how expensive berries are on their own), I think it is pretty reasonable. The granola, agave nectar, fresh berries, etc. are all amazing together! The pink flamingo was something new for me because I don't think I had ever tried pitaya before. I love the bright pink color of the drink and the way it smells.. haha. It's pretty sweet so I was really surprised to see that a 16oz of it is only 180 calories! I'm really not one to count calories but I was pleasantly surprised when I found that out. Today I thought I'd try something new. I figured since I'm at a juice bar, I should get a juice and ordered The Greenie. Personally, I didn't like it at all but I think that's because I haven't acquired that taste. If you're not used to green juices, maybe stick to the acai bowls or smoothies. Anyway, my experience today made me realize that I probably couldn't do a juice cleanse even if I tried. PB Acai bowl (4 stars): Too big of a portion, but really good. Wish they offered a smaller size. They give a good amount of fruit with it so it's filling! Pink Flamingo Drink (2.5 stars): Ehh didn't like it much, guess I'm not a pitaya fan. Just didn't taste like anything in the description other than I guess the pitaya. Their options for juices are limited compared to Mother's Market, but they have more acai bowl varieties. Like Danielle F. said, there is no nutrition info which I feel like they should have. If people are coming here they are obviously trying to be healthy. They do have to go containers now though! Service has always been good for me. This one is clean looking, and the line moves fast. Its kinda small but its close by so yay, I love the pink flamingo mostly but I just tried their black scary skoop and it was amazing! Dairy free and still really creamy, it's vanilla even tho it's black. Okay, so I ordered "The Buzz" in a 24oz because I saw that there were oranges in them and I wanted a juice with oranges. I know it comes with carrots, but what I got was not okay. As I was watching, the guy was having hard time with peeling/cutting the oranges so what the OTHER GUY tells him is "just do the carrots", mind you he was just watching him instead of helping. At this point he had only put in two, tiny oranges and ended up filling the rest of the 24oz drink with carrots. I mean I understand the difficulty, but if that's what the customer ordered, you need to give them what they ordered and not change it so it's convenient for you. read more
