This place was a great find, and everything was made fresh to order, which made the food taste even better. The menu had some solid options, and the quality was definitely there. I visited on Super Bowl Sunday when just one woman was handling everything--both the register and making all the orders. I wish she had more help, but despite being solo, she was incredibly kind and friendly (not sure I would have been in her position!). One small suggestion--there was quite a bit of plastic used for packaging, which seems unnecessary given how fresh everything is. A more sustainable approach would be a great improvement. Came in on a late Sunday morning and there was no wait. The staff person sat me coming in and came out to serve me right away. Very friendly, nice, and helpful. I got the free ginger shot which I tried right away. It has a KICK, which I like so I may actually purchase these from here in the future. Feels healthy, ya know!? The chocolate peanut butter protein smoothie is so good!! Tasted than I was expecting, and the smeared peanut butter on the side of the cup was a nice touch (aesthetically lol). This location needs a full overhaul. The store is dirty and the cushions and chairs are ripped and old. When I walked in I wanted to run right out. I used the restroom and as you can see in the photos, it was disgusting. Graffiti everywhere and it was filthy. This is disappointing considering this store is located in a nice area of Pasadena. This store has also looked this way for over 2 years now. The owner needs to do something about it. The employee who helped me was nice and my açaí bowl was good. It would be nice for the employees to wear Nekter t-shirts also. Don't think I will be coming back. If the cleanliness of the store looks bad, I can only imagine what the kitchen looks like. The customer service was very disappointing. I was speaking with one employee to better understand an issue with my order when another staff member interrupted with a very rude attitude. When I asked to speak with a manager, she dismissively told me that no manager could help. The behavior was unprofessional and left a very poor impression. read more

I come here frequently - multiple times a week and sometimes daily. Customer service is always friendly. However, the quality of service is inconsistent. Every morning there is a different person at the counter making drinks and different people throughout the day - usually very young, maybe even college students. This franchise has high turnover and poor training of their workers because the drinks are not only inconsistent but bad. I have returned drinks. Offered feedback. Demanded they call a manager, who btw, is never on premise so it is hard to hold the service accountable. I pay too much money and wait too long to get a drink that tastes so bad it's undrinkable. Got a açaí bowl through grub hub. So not sure how the service was or the atmosphere. Going base on just the bowl and bowl alone. We drove from Glendale to see what they had to offer and yelp gave us an awesome free ginger shot so we had to for sure try everything. We got 2 mango delights, mine replaced the milk with orange juice and added strawberry. It was really yummy. After spending money on all this stuff, I went to show the associate the free ginger shot all jazzed. I even had my boyfriend check in so he could grab one too! I love Nekter! Such an amazing place located right on Lake Ave, a real charm of Pasadena. Especially in the summer months when it feels like it's 100+ degrees outside, Nekter is the perfect way to cool down. I always go for an acai bowl, but the smoothies are a must, too. Recently, I noticed they've introduced the 'Immunity Bowl'. It's a combo of dragon fruit, chia seed pudding, bananas, strawberries, galore! I really recommend getting this bowl, but you can never go wrong with the classic Acai Banana Berry Bowl. As far as smoothies, my go to is the Orange Crush. A classic iced OJ drink that has the right burst of freshness. PS. Since it usually can take 10-15 min to prepare the acai bowls, I would recommend ordering ahead of time on their app. It will save you a lot of time. They don't have much seating inside, but there are a bunch of tables outside shared by neighboring restaurants. Don't worry, there are umbreallas over each table to block out the heat! This establishment is an embarrassment. The floors and sitting area looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a good couple days. Seating area was all ripped up and the kicker was when i saw a roach crawling from the counter area into the seating area and another roach crawling the wall where the high tables were. This store needs to be closed throughly cleaned and revamped. For the prices their store needs to be presented better. Customer service is always very good but every time I've visited this location it takes an increasingly long time to get items ordered. Went here for a quick breakfast after a work out last week. It's located inside the Plaza where Macy's and Trader's Joe is located and parking inside the building is free and you have to pay the one on the street, but depending on the day. I've tried couple smoothie shop around the area before to get natural intake that I need after TRX session, and this is my first time trying nekter. I was quite hungrier than usual, so instead of smoothie, I tried their Banana Strawberry Acai bowl. The taste is pretty decent as you can just make it from home, but the fruits are fresh enough. I wasn't really aware that their acai bowl doesn't include Chia seeds, and they charged me extra for that. Their Vanilla Chia is pretty bomb creating that balance of sweet and sour into the bowl and is enough to fill you up and get into your day. I probably will get their Chia seed bowl next time I come here. You can substitute for raw honey if you're not a big fan of agave because sometimes it's too sweet and it destroys the purpose on eating healthy lol. They are open for indoor dining now, but still taking precautions of required to wear a mask when entering the store. read more

This location isn't a problem, but I just don't like the menu based on what I tasted. I normally will have other named brands like Uba Tuba, Jamba Juice or Boba Time for smoothies and Acai bowls. But Nekter by far is the most plain. The fruit bowl, the smoothie underneath was watery and didn't have as much flavor. And the peanut butter mocha drink didn't taste like chocolate, peanut butter or coffee. It was very watery and had almost no flavor. It was basically all filler liquid. I can't judge the service or the location. That was all wonderful. But with a message to the company, if you're going to charge a lot of money for healthy food and fruit, it has to at least be packed with flavor with a decent recipe. read more

Nekter Pasadena is a hit or miss with service. Sometimes it's super slow but the employees are in no rush to get to you and other times it's great. Don't come in a rush ever. I love Nekter itself and used to frequent the Redlands and OC location. This one is located in a busy shopping center right below trader joe's (so you can kill two birds with one stone like me) I find the 1 day cleanses (you can do a 3, 5, and 7 day one too) very refreshing and effective-- especially if I need a kickstart to getting healthy. Don't get me wrong, the pressed juices at pressed juicery are great but when I do the 1 day cleanses here keep me focused and not feeling like I will faint at all. 1 Day cleanses are now 34$ as of July 2022. You can get rewards on their app and check in to this location to get your free ginger shot. I am a big fan of açai bowls, and I have Only been to this location three times. One thing I don't like at all is the amount of fruit they give on their bowls for the price. I get their 3 day cleanse about every other month and this is by far the worst location. I accumulate points rather quickly given how much I buy from Nekter. Every other location is friendly and accommodating when it comes to either ordering drinks, choosing the bag I want for the cleanses, or redeeming rewards, but not this location. Everytime I try to redeem a reward here, they have half their items "sold out" and apparently can't redeem it for anything else on the menu that's available even when the reward says "any" not just a specific item. They just overall make me feel awful for redeeming a reward that I earned from spending quite a bit at their stores. I would like to avoid this store but it's the only one in the area unfortunately. There's a free parking structure and even free EV charging but that charger is broke everytime I've tried to use it. read more

Only wish they utilized less plastics. Service can be a bit slow so although it's meant to be somewhere you can just dip in and out very quickly, the process takes longer than it should. The manager only has one employee per shift due to the increase in minimum wage. The employee at the counter did the best he could, but after a very long wait and several customers waiting in front of us for their orders, we canceled our order. The employee could not issue a refund. After several texts back and forth with the store manager the next day, the manager could not issue a refund either. It would need to go through the owner. New to açaí bowls in general, but wanted a more filling breakfast than getting a croissant or something super processed. I also travel a lot for work sometimes so keeping fruit around is near impossible. Decided to try an açaí bowl for these reasons and went with Nekter for convenience. Most other places weren't open at 8am on a Sunday or were in walking distance. It was great to have both of that here. I got a mango bowl. I honestly thought service was fine. They're quick, attentive enough, and eager to get your order. I don't know why people expect world class service for everything where staff likely make minimum wage. My bowl came out quickly and I was able to enjoy it outside where there's a bunch of tables. The fruit was better quality than I expected or at least tasted that way. Banana was fresh while I'm guessing the mango and strawberries were a bit more tart and cold implying they're refrigerated which is fine. Still get all the benefits there. Granola didn't taste overly sweet so I'm guessing most of the sweetness came from the bananas and coconut flakes. The blended portion was also not overly sweet so I didn't have to worry about getting a sugar crash. Overall solid location and I will be back. read more
