Nekter used to make amazing bowls and I used to think they were higher quality and taste compared to other similar places, such as Jamba, which I enjoy. However, the bowls have gotten increasingly expensive and their toppings have gotten increasingly skimpy. Today, I ordered a $9 Banana Berry Bowl and my bowl had exactly 5 blueberries and 5 strawberry slices- that's like one strawberry! To add to that, one of the workers had her mask below her nose the entire time. Nekter is extremely overpriced and cheap with their toppings and it is not worth it. read more

I'd been to a different Nekter location years ago, but decided to stop by here when I saw that they had a pretty impressive pumpkin spice smoothie (pumpkin, banana, cashew milk, dates, and pumpkin spice mix). I ordered the larger size to split between my husband and I, and was pleasantly surprised by its flavor and perfect level of sweetness. Not a big fan of smoothies when they add a ton of apple juice or agave to sweeten it up; this one was just what we were looking for. However, Nekter would do well to smooth out a lot of customer service issues. There were two VERY unfriendly young women in there; the one who helped me had no idea what was in the smoothie and would barely even talk to me. This is after waiting for them to glance up long enough from filling their online orders to even acknowledge my presence. A minimal "I'll be with you in a minute" while I waited in the store for almost ten minutes to place my order (I was the only person in line). Awkward confusion with trying to figure out whether or not she was ready to take my order. One of the employee's friends came in after me and she made his order of multiple items first even though I, and 2 other parties were already waiting before him. I'm usually a big acai bowl person, ask anyone, and I was really craving for an acai bowl when I was in the area. Usually Nekters are decent for acai bowls but when I came to this one, I wasn't super impressed with it. It was just mediocre. I came here when there was basically no one here and yet, my acai bowl did take longer than what I expected. However, that's not a big deal to me cause I was really excited to get my acai. I ordered the Banana Berry Bowl (my go to type of acai bowl) and was pretty disappointed at the acai. The toppings were good because there was a good amount of granola, banana, strawberries, and blueberries. The acai, however, was kinda plain and there were chunks of it in my bowl. It just wasn't blended well. I was disappointed in that because what's an acai bowl without good acai?? It was still satisfying to get an acai bowl but I wasn't extremely happy with the whole thing. I'll probably come back next time when I'm craving an acai or when I'm in the area and hopefully, it'll be better. I parked at the street parking where you pay on the meter. FYI to anyone that orders the cleanse juices at this location. My hubby placed an order online and went to pick it up after receiving an email that it was ready for pick up. We get there and they are "all out" of juices. They wanted him to return the next day. My hubby had planned on starting the cleanse the following day so he asked for a refund instead. This could not be done by the employees either. We were informed that they didn't know how to refund him for an online order. He had to leave his name and order info and wait for the owner to send him his refund. We left very disappointed. I came in on a hot summer day having no idea what to get, and she guided me towards a great choice that was along the lines of what I was looking for and even took the time to initiate making me a sample of it! That was greatly appreciated and she is just the sweetest thing ever! The drink also ended up being super refreshing and you can literally taste how healthy it is lol, and it was delicious as well. This is just a review on the ginger shot. My overall experience was perfectly pleasant as well though. I checked in to get a free ginger shot. I really liked it (but I have to acknowledge that I am a ginger super fan) I also love the ginger/immunity shots from Pressed - this has similar strong ginger spice. What I like more about this one is that there is more of the fresh ginger fiber in it. So if you're a huge ginger fan like me, I would highly recommend! read more

Ugh... I hate having to downgrade a place I've re viewed but I kind of have to. First I want to say that their menu of fresh made drinks has slightly changed but all still quite delicious. My issue has been last couple of times I went there, both to pick up cleanses, and it wasnt a great experience either time. The first one I had ordered a couple cleanses online to pick up in store. I ordered about days before my pick up. When I called to see if it was already they told me that they had no order for me. I had an email confirmation so they asked me to bring it in. I went there and they looked and looked and didnt see my order. So the person who was helping me was nice enough to tell me that she'll just make me one. She also took my name and information and had me forward my email confirmation to them at the store. About 3 weeks later I got a call from someone "reminding me" to pick up my cleanse because it's been sitting there for a long time. I told her I already got it weeks ago. Okay. Kind of weird, but not that big a deal. It has been a few weeks since that incident, I had ordered another clease online and went to pick it up this morning. There were only 2 people working there. I literally got a look from the person kind of at the front like she didn't want to bothered... yeah its 7:30 am and the store is empty, c'mon! It took a couple minutes for her to wash up and come over. I didnt get greeted, She just walked over. I told her I was there to pick up my clease I ordered. It took a couple minutes to put it all together, the weird thing was once she brought it over, she just said, "sign here". So I opened up the bag and looked inside to make sure there was one of each bottle and that each was labeled. It was but no cleanse info sheet.... okay whatever. I signed and said, "here you go". She took the paper and pen and turned around and walked to the back. She didn't say a thing to me. I stood there for a while not sure if I was done or not, but she didn't return and I could hear her talking to someone else. So I just turned around and left. I know I'm being a little bit picky, but I think she could have said something... anything to acknowledge the trasnsction is complete. You can expect your drink to take 20-30 minutes to be ready. There were numerous annoyed faces waiting at the tables while I was there. I mean it was busy. People didn't stop coming in. My recommendation for the owner or manager is to put more people on. As of right now, this isn't a place I'd go to if I have something to do besides relax. Tried it twice. Didn't like it twice. The first time I tried it was at the Anaheim Taste test, where I sampled about 10 different juices but didn't find one I really enjoyed. The second time I tried it was was with a couple of friends. The cashier seemed like he hated his job. Ordered the banana berry and the greenery. The banana berry was watered down and you could barley taste the distinct fruits because they all masked each other. Considering I have been to other locations of Nekter and loved it, the location in Pasadena was disappointing. I walked in to the store being the only customer and saw three workers talking in the back, none of which acknowledged me. A few more people came in behind me and then a lady finally took my order, though she was nothing near nice or helpful. I then wait for about 25 minutes as everyone behind me was getting their order before me, it took me getting up and asking about my order for them to even start working on it. Recently came here and ordered a large "Health Nut" smoothie for $12.65 and I received a milky unsweetened slush. It seemed that ingredients were left out and the ratios completely botched. It was inconvenient to have to return to the store after walking all the way back to my car, but I wanted a refund since it was undrinkable! You can always get a great fresh juice from Nékter. I LOVE their fresh juices. There is no juice place in the area that rivals their fresh juices.
