Unfortunately, my experience here wasn't great once again. The overall atmosphere felt unfriendly, with employees coming across as rude and unwelcoming, which made the visit uncomfortable. Pretty solid juice and smoothie spot that is close to downtown Pasadena. My partner and I wanted something quick and light for dinner, so we opted for protein smoothies. We both got the peanut butter banana smoothies and I subbed in chocolate protein. I do wish there was more chocolate flavor to this, because who doesn't love peanut butter and banana paired with chocolate?! I have a friend who used to work here for three years and she said that's the manager force them to blend bad food, and bad fruit with everything that they were making to save on cost. So people were almost always eating rotten fruit. My friend was told on purpose not to throw away the bad fruit, and it cut away the bad heart and keep using it and then to just use bad fruit. If that's all they had not ever throwing it away, never replenishing when necessary, always using the old and dying fruits. She was trying to help the community by not continue in this practice that the manager and their bottom line is the only thing that's important. So they keep doing it. So I've never going here again. They are essentially poisoning you because they're giving you bad fruit on purpose. read more

Stopped in for an açaí bowl and their bowls are so limited! There are so many other options with unlimited toppings! Several different base options, fruit selection and unlimited toppings! I was expecting similar, nope the set bowls come with only the 1 base and limited toppings. If you want to customize you can, but that will cost quite a bit. I got the double drizzle bowl. Instead of peanut butter I wanted to substitute it with almond butter, nope. I would have to remove the peanut butter and pay $.99 to add almond butter. Seems like a reasonable request, but not worth it. The bowl was basic tasting, average and had only granola and some drizzle toppings. Portions are small and limited. Was referred here by a friend who tried the pb banana shake. It is located in a shopping center where Vons is which makes it a bit difficult to find parking during peak hours. Service was good about 2 people ahead of me, my order came out fairly quick. They have a lot of choices but I ordered an avocado toast with the egg and the berry powerful drink. The drink was good not so much that it would make me come back to purchase. The toast was disappointing it was literally a small thin piece of bread that fit in the palm of my hand and the avocado spread looked like fake avocado spread. Long Review: I'm not sure if this place is a franchise, a chain, or what but they have a really good value proposition for healthy juicing. Went in and asked and they stated they close at 9pm. They were already cleaning all counters with BLEACH! I come here pretty much on a weekly basis - sometimes even twice a week. My favorite go-to's are the MR Blueberry and the Green Blend. I've gotten a few Acai Bowls from here as well and enjoyed those also! They now have a kiosk where you can order which is convenient if there's a long line. I love their smoothies! Best one is the Mr. Coffee, it's so yummy. You are able to customize all the smoothies with supplements and add and subtract things as you wish. They also have açaí bowels which I've tried once and remember being pretty good. They are customizable as well. I also love getting the trio of shots they have. They have a few to choose from and they all come with a little slice of pineapple to help take the shot down. It's a little spot in a strip mall next to Vons and parking is plentiful. I am a hardcore fan of the coffee smoothie, but my most recent one was a bit off. There was a piece of banana and a few ice cubes that were not blended well, and there was more of the butter taste than the coffee. I'm not sure what happened, but as I saw an advertisement for a barista, perhaps they are training new staff, so some leeway is given this time. However for a drink that is over $10, I'm counting on the next one to be as good as I've always known it to be. It has always been clean, organized with quick service and friendly staff. I walked into this Movita location, and surprisingly, I wasn't greeted. OK, not every place does that, but a few minutes later, some pretty girls walk in, and suddenly Cayden springs into action like he's competing for Employee of the Month! When I asked about popular smoothies, Cayden's response was vague at best: "It's all the same. You can substitute anything." I wanted to ask more questions, but it felt like he had a personal vendetta against me from the start. His reply? "Don't hate the player, hate the game." Really? What does that even have to do with a simple smoothie choice? As he walked away, he mumbled something typical. This was my first time at Movita, and while the ambience was initially great, it quickly soured thanks to the poor customer service. I don't recommend this location. They did give me a refund, but the overall experience left much to be desired. To give them another chance, I tried to buy a wheatgrass shot, but Cayden didn't know a thing about collagen, which was why I opted for the wheatgrass shot in the first place. When I told him collagen is a protein, he argued with me, insisting it wasn't. Gaslighting customers, especially when you're misinformed, is completely inappropriate. This was an embarrassing experience, and I won't be returning. I'll also be referring this incident to the Better Business Bureau. read more

One-stop-shop for all things healthy! From what I saw, they seem to specialize in their healthy juices and açaí bowls, so I decided to give their bowls a try. I got the "Quick Meal" bowl with almond butter replacement and was very pleased with the freshness, portions and crunchiness of the granola. The base is the plain açaí, which was delicious, but it does cost extra to have either dragonfruit or Proats (protein + oats). I also tend to like açaí stores where you get unlimited toppings for the same price. Here you pick your item and it costs extra to add toppings. The inside of the store was very clean, bright, and welcoming. I particularly liked the digital menu which was very clear and easy to understand. I placed my order with the friendly associate and browsed around the store at their products. The açaí bowl was ready relatively fast and I enjoyed eating it outside at their little seating area. I wished that outdoor seating was more in the sun, but at least they HAD outdoor seating. Overall this was a nice experience and I'll come back to try their juices! read more

I always come to this movita cause it's the nearest to me and I'm always appreciative of the kindness of staff. However, the past few times I've been coming, the portions of acai bowls have gotten so much smaller. Not sure if it's the staff (never seen them before) or its business strategic. The fruit looked bad and there was strawberry stems in my bowl. The bananas were cut thinly and all squished and black. We came in here absolutely exhausted from walking around in the heat, so we were in desperate search of something to cool off with. I got the Pineapple Mango smoothie. The mango and pineapple flavors both complimented each other well, and it was only $6.99 for a 24oz! This is an insane deal considering places like Nektar that charge upwards of $7 for 16oz. Two of my friends got the Berry Antioxidant; I tried some of it and it had the classic berry smoothie taste. One of my friends got the Fruit Max bowl and substituted the base with an oat protein. I really hate to do this, because I used to work in the food industry and appreciate the amount of work that goes into running a successful store.. however, I felt like I had to say something. This is the third time my spouse and myself walk into the Pasadena store and are met with really unpleasant interactions from your staff. We walk in between 9:15p and 9:20p. I understand that it's 10 minutes before the 9:30 closing and there's much to do, however, I feel like the workers make it feel like it's our fault. I'm not sure what a solution is... but I frequent this location usually in the afternoon and it doesn't feel like this. We came in consecutively on 5/27, 5/28, and 5/29 (just now) this week around 9:15-9:20pm because we love this place, but we have been met with really short and unpleasant dispositions from your workers. I don't normally complain, however, today (9:20p) we walked in, they had the pathway to the register blocked off with the mop sign, and when we got to the register (we figured it just meant there was a spill), they told us they weren't accepting cash anymore (I figure because your employees are shutting down the cash register till early). The ones who helped us were the girl with the ponytail (Asian girl) and the girl with the nose ring and curly brown hair (specifically). While I understand that workers are trying to be efficient, this feels really unclear. I'm just wondering if maybe there's a policy I don't know about where you don't accept cash anymore or after a certain time? If so, I apologize.
