With its launch announced in late 2019 and meeting with understandable challenges (what with the pandemic and all), I was delighted this weekend to see that, at long last, Nemo's Beer Shop is open for business! Granted, Forest Hills NYC does offer a variety of pubs and drinking establishments, but one ENTIRELY and seriously devoted to the fine craft of beer was long-desired and sorely needed. The space is on the small side but comfortable, focusing on the practical: a few tables, a bar (with 8 local beers on tap available in 5oz tasting portions as well as 8/12/16oz draft), and several refrigerators along the wall sporting an impressive array of approx 60 locally-brewed beers, along with a small variety of local snacks (pretzels and jerky), with just enough tables and counter-space to accommodate a outing with friends or one simply wishing to grab a solitary drink in passing. While this may be my sole and subjective bias, but what was personally appreciated was the absence of a television and an overly noisy and obnoxious "sports bar" atmosphere -- as if the owner deliberately intended on cultivating an establishment (true to its name) singularly devoted to the appreciation of beer itself and the comradery to be found among those who appreciate such. Welcome to the neighborhood Nemo's -- Five stars and well-merited! I can easily envision myself a regular patron.

Sometimes less is more. Where you don't have a dozen TVs competing for your attention, rowdy groups, and trying to be everything to everyone. Enter Nemo's and you've entered a beer oasis. Independently owned and operated, focused on a good variety of beers, with a sizable canned beer cooler for even more choices. Super friendly owner pouring drafts, small but comfortable space, and customers that appreciate the vibe. We started conversations with two other tables off the cuff. It's that kind of place. Definitely my new favorite watering hole in Forest Hills. Please support local businesses, it's a gem!

I live in Forest Hills and I've been to this place a few times in the last few months with some friends and let me tell you their beer doesn't taste any better then a cheap beer or ale from the 99 cent store. I really don't like to write bad reviews to businesses especially with the pandemic and how bars/ restaurants are struggling to make ends meet today, but I really have had it with this so called owner that was beyond rude to me after I stopped by and used the restroom. I have come as a customer a few times and really needed to make an emergency restroom stop. Since I had patronized his establishment before, I didn't think it would be a big deal to quickly use the restroom. When I got out of the restroom the owner was very rude and nasty to me, telling me to never come back to his bar. I asked him why and he said because I wasn't spending money and that my type shouldn't be allowed to come to his place. I was appalled at his behavior and attitude and told him I will gladly not ever return.

If You're looking For a great place to drink great beer with great people this is where you should go. If you're some self-absorbed entitled piece of shitt ...stay away. No cornballs.

Love this place! We were so happy to see it open after a long wait during the pandemic. They have a great rotating tap list of local beers and a great refrigerator section with cans... a nice mix of unusual stuff and the good local stuff like KCBC and Finback. Nice laidback place to grab a beer in the neighborhood. Cheers to Nemo's!

Cool local place, similar to Astoria Bier and cheese. Nice selection of local beer on tap and cans. Will definitely be back.

Half off select cocktails and appetizers. $7 margaritas, martinis and mojitos all night for Ladies Night. My friends and I had Churrasco skewers, truffle waffle fries, chicken quesadillas, Churrasco quesadillas, loaded waffle fries with shrimp and sweet chili wings. Everything was good! Nothing salty, mushy or lacking flavor. Hookah is $40, cash only and $25 for a refill. The hookah was smooth and long lasting. We really had a great time here. I'll definitely be back over the summer!

I was curious if this place was a restaurant, a bar, or a lounge. I would say this place is definitely a lounge. The vibe was great, very chill and unpretentious. The drinks were on point and the food was delicious! Their menu is more finger foods and decent bites if you plan to drink. I would like to see 1 or 2 more food menu items added but everything we had was very very good. We had the sampler and it was perfect for us. The DJ was everything! The music was so good. Old school early 2000's hip hop and r&b. But I hear on any given night, the music goes to the vibe of the crowd. The service was fantastic. We had everything we needed and the wait staff was attentive. I will absolutely be coming back here! They have great happy hour during the weekdays and a brunch I want to check out. 10/10 so far.

I watch the end of the game in here. Inside looks nice, booth is comfortable. Lively decoration with a spinning floating lightbulb in each table. The air is a bit stuffy though. I only ordered a burger as I heard from other reviewers that it is the best burger. It is quite tasty. Burger is on the smaller side, size of my palm. For $22, it also came with French fries. It is a bit more to the expensive side if I compare to what I will pay for a double burger and fries at Burger joint at 7th street burger. I guess i paid for the atmosphere. Service is ok. The waitress is very quiet. I dont think she spoke more than 20 words to me. Mostly nodding at my request. She did refill my water without me asking. However, she didnt bring me utensils. I had to use the toothpick that held the burger together to eat the leftover crumbs. My hands is a bit sticky and smell like barbecue sauce as a result of it. Thats why I deduct a star

The bar was nice, different vibe than the city, so we were able to sit and just relax. It's a small place..but they do serve food and had different cocktails and lots of liquors.. We tried the popcorn chicken thighs which was just okay for me but I don't like popcorn chicken normally so I had only had a 1-2 pieces, we wanted to try a lil something while we had drinks... The drinks ...hmm they tasted a bit too sweet for me.. They do sound creative, but too many sugary items... they even sold a cookie matched with a drink.. as if the drinks weren't sweet enough. We tried at least 6 of them and L doesn't really drink but took a sip from each of them. They're not really strong...I'm tiny and I wasn't close to drunk. I think I'd be full from all that liquid before I felt something. It's a nice bar but we left since the drinks weren't strong and had too many sweet ingredients in a lot of them so it didn't appeal to me. Service was very efficient but it was just the one female waitress. The ratings are too high...it's more like 3.9.. than 4.9.

I could have swore I wrote a review for this place when it first opened. Coming here in the summer…read moreis by far the best view unless your looking at the Z hotel, which looks like poop hole! There's so many levels to this location. When its cold outside I recommend the seating in the corner, its a little room off to the side. They have outlets here as well as games to play. Unfortunately for last night's visit they just had scrabble which I totally crushed my friend in, when he reads this he is gonna laugh. The 5 or so times I been to this location there has always been totally good service. I believe one of my drinks last night was given for free, the bill didn't make sense. I did notice my server clicked on the 20% tab, I didn't mind I would have clicked that anyway. Sometimes I am too nice to people because most would have said something. :: bathroom alert:: Very clean bathroom. Use the first one on the bottom floor. The ada compliant bathrooms are very big, I appreciate that. The bathrooms upstairs have unisex hand washing. I just appreciate There's elevators so that elderly, mobility issues and people in wheel chairs can enjoy the view. In the winter upstairs does have a tent around it. The area can seem sus at night time. Take a cab home or walk with a friend is my tip. The food is pretty good. The nachos were just ok, I could have used more seasoning. The pretzel was really good as well. They used to have tacos on their menu I don't know what happened. Their fries are pretty good too. I'm not sure if they still do the pizza, they did when they first opened.

I'll start by saying I do like this place but I do have to complain about how it is operated…read more They have like 5 people "working" -- standing around, giving you attitude when you try to order, even when it is dead. The beer selection is also pretty reduced compared to the other locations. And the most annoying thing is the best asset is the roof, yet it seems to always be closed for some reason or another. I haven't written this place off as it is nice, and has potential, might just need better management.
