We are parents of four grown children. We took them all there before the Tigers game yesterday. My husband and I had been there a couple years ago and had a great time and thought our kids would love it. We got there, they were not busy at all. The bartender was straight up rude and acted like us being there was a bother to him. Pat was great, it was the older guy who had attitude. (He could have been the owner for all we know). It's not like we were a bunch of obnoxious kids. We were 6 grown adults who had planned to stay, drop more than a few bucks on beer and burgers and take the shuttle to the game. I love a good dive, and Nemo's is not that. Always a vaguely hostile vibe from the bartenders. The last time I was there I had to whistle at the guy behind the bar to get his attention, and this was in the middle of the afternoon on a Thursday, which is pretty unacceptable. Great atmosphere. This is the kind of place you know locals go to and have been frequenting for years. The bartenders were friendly and quick. Their menu is small- burger, chicken, fries but I was happily surprised about the quality of burger I ordered. Go here before a Tiger's game and take the shuttle for only 3 dollars! Five stars is basing Nemos on what it is. Sports bar and old.school. A lot of people do t like the plastic cups and no credit card thing, but it makes sense to me why they use plastic cups. The burgers and fries here are amazing and while the menu is limited, it's delicious. The staff are amazing and when this place is slammed they do a great job. read more

This place is the best at what it is... Pure Detroit sports bar. Nothing fancy! Simply old school and if your coming here and expecting gourmet food and Michigan craft beer and giving 2 stars cuz your not getting it then your an idiot. There is no better place to go before/after a Tigers, Red Wings or Lions game and grab a burger and a few bevies. This is my favorite bar in Detroit now that Lindell AC is gone. I remember sitting at the bar and watching game 5 of the 2003 ALDS between Boston and Oakland and remember Damen Jackson and Johnny Damon running into each other at full speed during that game. This little place was pretty fun. Very mixed age groups and some great music, (do-wop) was here for a retirement party and the service was great. Bar maid was friendly and remembered what everyone drank which made things super chill. It was a little too dark inside and a car was broken into in their parking lot so that was concerning. First & foremost, Nemo's gets props for just being the same old awesome bar that it's been for a long time, us old Detroit peeps love that shit. We went on the Tour de Troit bike ride today, and the staff at Nemo's helped make the day great. They helped us with parking & did a kick-ass job of serving us beers after the ride. Go see these guys - and tip them well - they are awesome at making you feel at home. read more

First timer for the St Pattys parade. It was super crowded and hard to navigate but that's to be expected on parade day. They had a tent up and multiple beer tubs for quick service in spite of the crowd. Didn't get a chance to try the food but I'm sure ill be back , knowing they can handle and properly serve a crowd. read more

Stopped at Slow's on a Saturday afternoon and was told it would be a two hour wait so we decided to go to Nemo's for a drink while we waited. Once there we decided to have a burger. Great decision. Love the location, love the food, love riding the shuttle to and back to the Tiger's game. However, the service is terrible. I understand that on a Friday night, the bar is going to be busy, especially on nights where the Tigers are playing at home. I don't mind having to wait a little while for food, drinks etc., it's understandable. But I shouldn't have to flag my server down for her to even acknowledge us, especially after she greeted the two tables that sat down after us. We had to wave her down for everything- to order our food, to ask for another beer, to ask her for the bill, to ask for the shuttle tickets we'd already been charged for and for the last time when we had to ask her why we were charged $9 for tax. On food. Which totaled $38. We'll be back because we love the nostalgia and convenience of the bar, but methinks we might avoid a table and order our beers from the bartender. read more

Nemo's is located near old Tiger Stadium in Detroit . It offers both indoor and seating near their parking area . They offer a good selection of beers on tap and one of the best cheeseburgers in the city . Patrons have been meeting here for years then catch the shuttle to Tigers games . This is nothing fancy but the food was a good value . The walls are covered with old Tiger and Red Wing photos . They also offer a shuttle to Comerica park and have a secured lot for your vehicle . Even tho the Tigers have left Corktown Nemo's is still steeped in deep Tiger tradition . Oh yes they still have Stroh's !!! read more

Went to Memos after a football game. Surprised to see a bottle of Bud Lite was $5. Ordered a hamburger which was overcooked but edible. Waitress was very unfriendly and never asked if we wanted another beer. Left and walked to Casey's Bar for a $2,75 Bud Lite. Also Casey's has a Free shuttle to stadiums. Ok so this place got 4 stars because sometimes its not just about the food. If a place can stay open for over 50 years...ya gotta give them some extra credit for that alone. As soon as you walk in the door you notice all the photos on the walls. There are framed front page newspaper articles on winning sports seasons and you just feel 'at home" as a Detroiter. The ordering is kind of unique. There is a counter at the entry where you order your food. I think you pay up front but not certain. I was lucky enough that day to be the guest of a client who insisted he pay. I must admit it was my first time here. We were then walked around the corner to the bar area and seated at table. You notice the original tin ceiling and walls right off. It has that vintage old bar feel. We sat down and the bar tender came around to take our drink order. I ordered a coke and my gracious host ordered a Guinness Stout. Our drinks came and the bartender informed us that the first Guinness was paid for by a gentleman at the bar. When I questioned my client if he knew the man, he said " never seen him before in my life". It was later learned that particular patron was buying the first round for anyone ordering Guinness Stout that day. I thought...pretty cool. My kinda place. We had ordered cheese burgers. I got French fries as well. I said medium when I usually order a burger medium well. It was medium . It was a pretty damn good burger. We split the fries. They were hot and cooked to perfection. The waiter was on spot to fill my coke when it got close to empty even though he was across the room on the other side of the bar. Another Guinness was ordered and we sat and glanced around the room looking at all the history while we enjoyed our lunch. Keep on keeping on fellas.
