I had my front bumper repainted at Neo Autoworks in San Jose for about $700. Roughly one year later, the paint began bubbling and peeling, which is obviously not the quality of work I expected. When I contacted the shop to ask about the warranty I was told the repair came with, they refused to honor it. Their explanation was that the employee I worked with is no longer with the company and allegedly failed to file the proper paperwork. That employee had offered me a small discount if I paid via cash or Venmo instead of credit card. Neo Autoworks used that as the reason to deny any warranty coverage, even though the work was performed at their shop by their employee. I spoke with Cameron, who manages the shop, in an effort to resolve the issue. Unfortunately, the shop took zero responsibility for the poor workmanship and for the actions of their former employee. As a result, I am out $700 and have wasted a significant amount of time trying to get them to stand behind their work. Based on my experience, Neo Autoworks was unprofessional and unwilling to honor the warranty they represented. I would not recommend this shop to anyone looking for quality work and reliable customer service. read more

I came upon this shop by accident to see if they could fix my bumper that was partially falling off. Oscar, the customer service person, was friendly and professional. He ordered a part and it came within a day. Oscar was great at communicating status, scheduling the work and explaining the work. Ends up once they removed the bumper the part didn't quite work out but they figured out a fix anyway. And then charged me less than the original quote thanks to the part not being needed! Jim is the owner and Jay is the shop foreman. I dropped off my 2010 Saab 9-5 which was pretty banged up. They did a great job of repairing the front and rear bumper skins and a great paint job. They were very responsive in keeping me update and sending me pictures. The car was done on time and their prices were reasonable. They told me that they could do it right there, and could have a window ready to be installed the next day. All I had to was come back around the same time. Well, I did., AND they replace the window when promised, in the length of time they promised, and at the price they promised. They even cleaned up all the class in the door at no additional cost. I did some good damage to my side mirror on my Optima. I walked into Hardcastle on my way to target randomly just to get an estimate of how much the repairs would cost. Dave came out to my car to assess the damage, and I had an estimate in less than 5 minutes! He even went the extra mile and quoted me the price for the part directly from the manufacturer, and the after market price as well. Without any pressure, he just told me to call if and when I was ready to have the mirror fixed and they would order the part that was needed (as it was not on hand). I called on a Thursday, brought my car in on a Tuesday morning, and they had it fixed for me within the hour! Although I wasn't having major work done, I was still pretty impressed with the timely work and how smooth the process was. Definitely will be going back should there be anything else I need. I "interviewed" about 5 different highest recommended autobody places in the Bay Area before confidently residing with Hardcastle,.. which was my first thought of reputable businesses because I already know about the stellar auto mechanics next door (Rosegarden). They work next to each other and my family has been loyal customers for about 10 years because they have been loyal to us with service. I researched both online and in person to talk to each autobody shop. My car, like for most people, is extraordinarily important to my life survival. I take this seriously. First off- Hardcastle garage is Clean, Organized, and well...like a well oiled machine. Every person that works there is very knowledgeable, professional, and kind. They speak clearly and honestly. I honestly didn't care how long it would take as long as it was done right, and that my car would look nice but also be safe to drive. They had it done before I even missed it, but long enough that I know it was done with care. They explained everything to me and checked in with me as it progressed. My car looks better than I remember and the paint job and repairs are impeccable. I even paid for them to change out my headlights after my accident repair was handled by insurance because I knew they would be the best at it. Also my car was so shiney and clean both inside and out, so nice to have it detailed. Bam! As luck would have it, a family member just got into an accident yesterday. This place is the best! Larry provided me top notch service for a minor fix.He literally ordered the piece I needed that came in the very next day and took 5 min for them to fix. I used Hardcastle about 8 years ago when my bumper fell off. I went by for an estimate and they put it back on in 5 min for free! That kind of customer service is hard to come by these days.
