Wow! Very impressed with this new hot spot in Aiken. Flavors are big and size is big! Win win! I'm very picky with shrimp and grits and I give this dish a 10/10. Not too salty, thick creamy grits and huge fresh shrimp cooked perfectly. Tuna was amazing!! So flavorful loved the green dip! My mom and I shared everything and got full so fast. We even had food to take home. Drinks were also outstanding. Bartender was friendly and even accommodating to my moms off menu drink requests. French 75 and French martini. Barely a 4 star rating. Food is generally good, though service is spotty and slow but the staff is very nice. There are always people standing around seemly doing nothing and they we are waiting for food or a drink or something. The captain cruch french toast is awesome (and nap inspiring) but all their breakfast creations are really good. Dinner is decent, not over the top great, but pretty good. 1st time here and the experience was great! Super friendly and accommodating matradee upon entrance. I sat at the bar and the server Lauren was super friendly and easy to talk with! The breakfast tacos were delicious and the cocktails menu was pretty good(I would recommend a double, but you can get by with a single). Overall 4.8 out of 5 for me!! read more

Just had lunch there . Service fast but never filled up our beverages. Food was terrible . I had the chicken sandwich . ChickeN was a flat small piece like you get in freezer at the grocery store and give to your kids . Chips had a terrible spice on them . I told waitress I hated them and they never offered a substitute . Couldn't eat them , tasted like cloves . Beignets were the size of the fried dough you get at a Chinese restaurant , certainly nothing like the beignets in New Orleans . Everything overpriced and and not good . Portions were small , will never go back , very disappointing . TheY also just about pushed us out of the door . Bill for 2 was $40 and leFt hungry . read more

We tried Neon Fig for the first time yesterday. We had the shrimp and grits and the fig salad. The shrimp and grits were quite good and so was the salad. The only issue we had was with the fig salad. The price was what one would expect of a good restaurant, $18- after chicken is added, but the portion size (a standard soup bowl) was laughable. Last minute Saturday brunch and it was amazing!! We brought our 4-year-old, who only wanted pancakes. The kitchen was so accommodating with putting the toppings on the side for her (which she ate all of anyway), and she was delighted! We had fantastic service, very down-to-earth, and the food was incredible! We ate every last bit of the smoked trout dip, and the salmon bagel was perfect! We dined at the Neon Fig for Mother's Day Brunch. We had to wait but it was well worth it. The drinks were phenomenal. The cranberry with glitter mimosa was delightful. My son and I had the fried chicken sandwich and my husband had the salmon eggs Benedict. To top it all off I had fresh beignets with fig jam. Oh my, were they scrumptious. So please try it. My wife and I were beyond disappointed. People have been raving about this place so we decided to go for brunch this morning. I ordered the Smoked Salmon Bagel and my wife ordered the Fried Chicken Biscuit. Instead of thin shaved slices of smoked salmon I was greeted with massive half inch thick slabs of extremely fishy and slimy "house smoked" salmon on a soggy bagel with huge chunks of cucumber sprinkled around the plate. So much of what makes a good dish is about finesse, and Neon Fig falls into the same trap as so many Aiken establishments: quantity over quality. I'm not exaggerating when I say there was $15 worth of nasty fishy salmon on my bagel. My wife's chicken biscuit was no better. The biscuit was dry and disappointing, the chicken was extremely dry and over-fried to the point of being burnt in several places. With tip and coffee our check came to $55 and we both agreed we could have had a much better breakfast for less than half that price. The Chef spent half the time we were there chatting it up with some people a few tables away from us, he would have been better served in the kitchen checking the meals that went out and making sure they were executed properly.
