I live in Gulfport and have tried every restaurant in town over 20 times...I recently have been eating 2-3 times a week at Neptunes because of how delicious and consistent the food is, the menu is diverse and the grouper and chicken options are some of the best in The Burg. Shout out to Lucky for taking such good care of me and my business partner and hooking us up for a simple mistake with this huge meal and free chocolate cake. This place is so great, the service is amazing!!! I came twice in two weeks because I wanted to try more of what they had on the menu. I had the gyro first and I was highly impressed! It tasted just like an authentic one from tarpon springs! I then came back and had the fish tacos and they were just as great! Fish tacos are definitely my go to for now on! Christmas evening and a warm place to land with many locals and friendly staff. For $23, shared the crunchy almond grouper with stir fried veggies and baked potato. Very good and the full course was huge and easy to share. It's right across from the beach and full of character. read more

Decided to try Neptune grill today for the "early bird specials" served "3:00 to 5:30 everyday, except holidays".  Was cheerfully greeted by the hostess given a regular menu then asked and was given an early bird special menu.  Minutes later early bird menu taken away and was told no specials today due to special event in town. Nothing written online or outside on signage about special events canceling early bird menu.   We should have walked out, but ended up ordering gyros. Kind of disappointed in the gyros, much of the meat was dried out, lettuce, cheese and flavor was ok. They lost out on a future customer and I would have spent twice the amount of money if I'd ordered off the other menu.  Walking out, saw other customers with early bird menu's, questioned the hostess, said it was her first day and wasn't aware of conditions to menu, even though wait staff were the ones handing out the menus....??  Definitely need some sort of posting on their signage and online. False advertising. read more

Wanted to find a good outside bar with good food. We have tried a lot of Gulfport restaurants and wanted to try something new. We sat at the outside bar and were immediately greeted by Cory the bartender. We ordered the crunchy shrimp appetizer which has an almond crust and came out hot and delicious. The liquor drinks were strong which is always appreciated. For entrees we had the blackened grouper sandwich with sweet potato fries and the fried scallops. Both entrees were great, nice and hot and you could tell they were made fresh. The bartender was timely with refilling our drinks. Absolutely no complaints. We always have a great time here! We always sit at the outside bar when Cory bartends here on Sundays. He's very friendly and makes the best drinks! Food was ok and would have given it three stars except the server charged us more than the bill. At first I gave her benefit of doubt thinking she added tip for our table of three. Nope. I asked for receipt and had her rerun the correct amount. I should have stiffed her completely or complained but kids wanted to get going so hopefully this serves as warning to all consumers. Nice casual atmosphere. Great service, but the salad I ordered came with tomatoes long past their prime, mushy and flavorless. The Greek salad was Greek only in that it had olives and feta cheese. I wish restaurants that tout themselves as serving Greek food would google Greek salad and make something comparable. This was the first I me being here and it was decent. I tried the octopus appetizer and it wasn't anything too special. Also for my meal I tried the seafood mediterranean and wasn't very pleased. We ended up here at sunset. Unfortunately, it was cool outside, so we ate in and did not see the sunset. Maybe another day? It's sure to be a winner. Anyhow, the food and service were oth excellent. I highly recommend the Pastitchio (sp?). Have had it several places, theirs is as good as any I ever had. Also, large portion, which is always nice. Saganaki is the one thing any Greek restaurant has for a show stopper, let's just say Neptune Grill was at best a fizzle. I can appreciate the location, but the food here was tasteless. If your looking for Greek food, keep looking. read more

Located in the heart of Gulfport, my favorite little spot in our area. So its what drew us in.Due to having kids with us, we chose the more family friendly inside dining room over the outside patio/bar area. Very quiet and slower paced, but was clean and service was good. The apps, potato skins, were great,pretty straight forward. Side Caesar was excellent. But out of 3 entrees, only 1 was really liked. The baked crab cakes. My chicken fresca would have been top knotch if they would have not waaayy overcooked the chicken, but the lemon sauce and veggies were very good. The kids cheeseburger was kinda tasteless, BUT very generous in size actually. The chicken marsala was just horrible. It was breaded, but then soaked in a sauce, that tasted 100% like maple syrup no less, so it because very mushy. I asked my Bf how he even ate as much as he did. But we understand different taste for different people. Would come back and give the patio area a try, and new entree choices before ruling it out completely. read more

Neptune's is one of those places that doesn't look so promising from the outside--but looks are definitely deceiving in this place. Outside is a tiki bar that has live music on the weekends with a great view of the water--the drinks are good and reasonably priced. But it's really the food that is the star, here. Generally I get the chicken souvlaki which is so delicious with huge chunks of fresh feta, homemade tzatziki, incredibly yummy pita and flavorful chicken. But tonight I had the pasta primavera with shrimp because my boy decided he wanted my sandwich and the veggies in the primavera were so delicious I don't mind switching. I'm not a big pasta fan but I have never had such good vegetables in a restaurant--big slices of yellow squash, zucchini, mushrooms, carrots, broccoli and just a touch of tomato. The vegetables were perfectly cooked and the sauce was a light wine sauce with bechemel cheese on top. It was delicious. Definitely try this place! read more

We stopped for a snack of their grilled octopus with an adult beverage, and were glad we did! It's right across the street from the water, so you couldn't ask for a better location. The service was very good, the octopus was delicious, and the live music was an added bonus. The other patrons were all friendly, to the point of giving us tips on other places to try during our stay in Gulfport. We'd definitely stop by again to try other items on their menu. read more

I came here to eat lunch at an another infamous restaurant in Gulfport. As I try to park, I noticed there are over 12 people in line waiting to be seated. So I continue down the boulevard, passing a couple restaurants, one being Neptune seafood and Greek cuisine. I decided I am going to try out this new restaurant, new to me anyway. I was in the mood for seafood, and I like to eat a light lunch, so I ordered two appetizers instead of a main dish. The first one was grouper nuggets and the second one was bacon wrapped shrimp and scallops. Now being a Floridian, and also knowing a multitude of restaurants, the grouping being gourmet to every day food, I knew that one of the hardest things to get right in seafood (or) steak, is bacon wrapped anything. The grouper nuggets were genuine, and large portions. It has been a while since I've eaten out, that bacon wrapped shrimp and bacon wrapped scallops have been cooked to perfection, but by God Neptune did it! Perfectly cooked, crunchy bacon, succulent scallops and shrimp, something you only see in high-end restaurants with extremely experienced chefs and cooks. The only reason I did not give Neptune a five star rating is because they had two people serving the outside, one including the bartender. Once I seated myself, I was immediately approached by the waiter. Unfortunately for them, the lunch crowd started pouring in, and service started to get a little longer. I understand how hard it is to balance labor and crowds in this industry, so please, whatever you do, don't change a thing. You guys are knocking it out of the park! read more

Yes, they're Greek by name and nature, but their quesadillas and burgers are best in town, by far. Tuesday is Build a Burger Day.....large number of toppings, excellent burger meat. Patio is fun, but has too many smokers. Wish they'd partition into smoking and non-smoking. Inside is ok, diner-ish...and you'll hear Greek spoken most nights when large Greek families come for dinner. It's a great place. read more

Another great dinner at Neptunes tonight. I haven't had anything that I haven't liked. Tonight I had the Shrimp Capallini, it was awesome great flavor I would definitely order it again. The prices are very reasonable and you definitely get a good portion of food. The atmosphere is very comfortable from the management, bartenders and the servers. Took my Mother her for her birthday mid January. She had the flounder with sauteed vegetables - it was delicious. I had the chicken marsala and could not finish it. The chicken tasted like rubber and the steamed vegetables were on the same plate with gravy pour all over it. - yUcK! Extremely disappointed. We were 2 of 4 customers inside and service was still very slow. Probably won't go back - really wanted to like it. Had such high hopes that after coming to Gulfport since 1974 there would be some great dining. :( read more
