Great Calamari!! It was tender and they didn't fry the living Bejesus out of it! I also had Dolmades for a meal... They were a little small but seasoned well with a nice lemon sauce. Drinks were just average, but they do not have a blender so no frozen concoctions. The place is hotter than hell in the summer so you need to slam that drink while the ice is still solid.. oh well.‍ The best part was the live music!! A Gulfport gem. Best gyro around with the best fries! Also, the most delicious tzatziki sauce I have ever had. All at an amazing price and with a great bay view. The only con is sometimes when they have live music, it is WAY too loud. And I am a rather young, 30 something, person...I get it at night when you are trying to dance and have a night out, but during the day you want to be able to talk to people at your table without yelling at them. Also, I don't know if they allow smoking but I have been there when people were smoking inside their open air side of the restaurant. How is this still legal??? A few friends and I were looking for a local restaurant participating in 'Dining Out For Life' where we had some lighter, healthier options. My friends recommended Neptune Grill, and it's been on my list to try. The event was on a weeknight, and there were a few other Gulfport restaurants participating so we thought it might be relatively quiet. Surprisingly the patio area was quite busy, and the inside dining rooms were busy, had a few larger groups, but we were seated right away. The dining rooms are open and comfortable, very light and colorful. Our server, Missy, was super sweet, very friendly and got us drinks right away. She helped us answering some menu questions and took our order. Salads came up relatively quickly considering how busy they were. I had added a side Greek Salad to my entrée. A good size bowl of lettuce topped with sliced red onion, sliced green pepper, a tomato wedge, some sliced cucumber, pepperoncini pepper, a few Kalamata olives, a sprinkle of feta cheese and a side of Greek vinaigrette. Great salad, light and tasty. For my entrée,​ I ordered the Grouper Mediterranean - Grilled grouper topped with garlic, green peppers, spinach, tomatoes, basil, Kalamata olives, topped with feta crumbles. It normally comes with a baked potato but I swapped it for a side of sliced tomatoes. Really delicious, light and packed with flavor. The menu is filled with really awesome options; there were a lot of great lighter foods and also some delicious 'splurge' items for me too. Meh! This would have normally been a 2 Star review but the staff is spot on! The food was just ok. We had some spanakopita (spinach pie). The flavor was really good, here was the issue... no one rinsed the spinach. I could feel the grit and sand in my teeth. We had a quesadilla, it was nothing to write home about. Not much to say about it. It was blah! Gyro platter... again, just alright. Nothing fresh about it, iceberg lettuce, not chopped up very well. Huge wedges of tomato, cucumber, it was billed as a Greek salad but there was no grape leaves. I'm leaving out the part about plastic in my food because the staff was so great about it. Without the staff, this would have been a 2 Star review. Bottom line, it's OK in a pinch. But I'm not going out of my way for it. read more

Went down to Neptune Grill over the weekend for the Gulfport Grand Prix and it had good seating outside (has inside seating as well) right across the street from the water so great view! Great menu selection and specials on different days. I had the Seafood Mediterranean that included shrimp, scallops, and grouper! I didn't eat inside, but I loved the patio space! The grilled octopus was amazing & the hummus was a delicious treat as well. I didn't have any signature cocktails but the drinks were fairly priced. There were mist machines turned on in the shady area that kept me from dying in the heat; they weren't overwhelming at all. You can see TVs easily from almost anywhere in the patio space so go catch a game! The ladies room was clean & the decor was cool. I'd definitely go back & encourage folks to check it out! read more

I have been to Neptunes a handful of times and I've tried a couple of different things off of their menu. Although, I always order pick up so I cannot comment on the service of the restaurant. I often get their chicken souvlaki sandwich Which is a delicious lunch portion and comes with a side of crispy fries that are always hot. They have delicious pita and hummus plate that is served warm and just warms you throughout your body. The traditional Gyro sandwich which also comes with french fries has never disappointed me. read more

A great view of the bay. A good walk down Beach Blvd to see the shops as you walk to the old Gulfport Casino area and the beach. This is a place to be. So we went for lunch to give it a try. We had been in this area for many years and decided to give it a try. It was not full for lunch this day as we went in. We picked a table and reviewed the menu. There was a variety. We made our selection and waited to try. It did not take long. We had a Greek Salad and a small gyro filling as a side dish. The Gyro was really just the meat. The salad was lettuce, tomato and feta cheese. That was it. We also had an order of a Cuban sandwich. We wanted to give it a try. Instead they brought out a gyro and black beans and rice. We told the waiter we ordered the Cuban sandwich with coleslaw. He took what they gave us back and we waited for the Cuban sandwich. They brought back the beans and rice then brought out the Cuban sandwich. We just looked. We ate the meal and then received the bill. It was fine and we paid. We had been coming to this area for over 20 years. We ate in several places there. This was a first with the place. Next time I want Greek food I will head to Tarpon Springs. This was fine. The food was fine. The service in an empty place was nothing. read more

Living very close by, my wife and I have dined inside many times, and outside with out-of-town guests, and all menu items have been good to great. My problem is with the once a month "wings to go" order. I always ask for extra crispy, they always assure me it'll be "no problem", and they never get it right. The problem can't be with the tip , (20%) tendered when I pick the order up. They get the tip up front, before I've seen and tasted the wings, which comes after the 3 block walk home. You arrive home, leery of opening the styrofoam container, dreading an order of undercooked wings. (Styrofoam? really? 2021 is calling, kids.....pick up) Yup, once agin, undercooked. You know when Lucy is holding the football, and Charlie Brown is running up to kick it? Right before he tries to kick it, that's me opening the STYROFOAM, hoping to find perfectly cooked wings. Or, how about this pop culture reference? Joe Pesci, Lethal Weapon 2 or 3 or 4: "They'll f*&@ you in the drive thru. Or in this case, ($$ tip up front) carryout. Here's a thought........add $1 to the menu items to cover the cost of environmentally friendly to-go packaging. Golden Dinosaur does a wonderful job with carry-out packaging, I'm sure they can point you in the right direction, just ask! I would almost volunteer to pay an extra $1 for crispy wings, but then the 20% tip should have already covered that, right? read more

In the evening we strolled by and witnessed large crowds being entertained by drag queens. It was my first time to experience this event and it was a ton of fun. Loved the tzatziki sauce. It's listed as an American restaurant but they have a lot of Greek dishes on the menu and I believe the owners are Greek, as well. Would definitely be back. I have eaten close to every non-beef or non-pork selection on the menu and everything was good. My favorite is the home made humous and veggie/pita plate when I am looking for something lighter. I add hot sauce for a kick and I always clean the plate. I also frequently get the Chicken coupled with the Greek salad. I get pita and taziki on the side and highly recommend those as add-ons. The other good dishes are the Buffalo Chicken wrap ( either grilled or fried ) and the side of fries or the homemade rice and beans are really good options. The appetizers are also really good - I love the potato skins and the fried shrimp. The prices are crazy low. And the staff is very friendly and helpful. Another round at Gulfport, FL. I had there gyros $9- quite small for the price I paid for compared to other greek locality in town. With that said, the peta was well prepared, I like it's lightness and crisp. But the portion of meat is eye catching. The owner needs to visit the other greek place by 49th and Park by Pinellas Park! Went there on a Friday night. Gulfport had to art walk and every where was booked. Neptune was mostly empty; at least the inside dining area. They have an outdoor sports bar area on the other side and that was packed. This place serve Florida casual "tourist" Greek-style meals. They have burgers and pasta as well as gyros and fish. My sister and I were seated near a window without a direct light. There was a neon beer sign in the window which cast a blue-ish light on our table. Our waiter came with a mask on; we ordered saganaki and each a glass of retsina. Retsina was very resin tasting, if that is good. The wine came in plastic cups either because they ran out or from Covid. We were not bothered but the waiter asked if we cared. The saganaki was served about 3 minutes later. It came with "opa!", and flame but wasn't very good after it got on the table. The cheese hadn't melted. It was warm but not hot. I could taste the lemon flavor more than the cheese. Very weird. We did finished it though and within 5 minutes of that the entrees came. We are vegetarians, so we ordered the Pasta primavera (so authentic Greek!) and a Spinach pie platter. They were both very tasty and large servings. The waiter then came back asked if we wanted dessert. They have things like baklava, chocolate pie and key lime pie. I said I'd have a baklava but he must have misheard and came back within a minute with the bill. I decided that was his loss and we left without dessert. May go back when it's not a special event night. read more

I had the gyro sandwich...size was about right and the fries were hot. My wife had the fish tacos...solid portion size and flavor. Service was fairly quick and checked back often. The food is great here and comes out fresh and fast. Typically I've had great service here but today I was disappointed. I walked in and asked the female bartender if I could just sit anywhere. She said yes. I didn't get a server for five minutes after that. Made eye contact with the bartender several times. Still no service. She remained at the bar chatting to a guest for the entire time. The review is for breakfast only. Ordered eggs with bacon. Eggs were some of the most poorly cooked I have had in years and definitely won't order that again. The home fries were soft and the consistency of a baked potato. The bacon was actually good and the toast was fine, although I only had one option for jelly.. grape. Ordered a mimosa, it was small and not worth ordering another. The service was good and for that I give it a couple of stars. The one issue here if you are sitting in their covered patio area to enjoy the fresh air... well, that air is smoke filled. LOTS of smokers here... hard to breathe. read more
