Review #1 (B+) I live in Hutto TX. I was interested in Solar Power Panels and started to get quotes from several companies. Prices varied from company to company but I went with Nerd Power because they were the only company that offered energy reduction followed by installation of solar panels which I liked, I also liked the sales person Jonathan Whitman who did a great job with the proposal. One of the items on the Nerd partner program checklist is to be responsive and flexible. This is a must (at least for me). I have had issues, some I thought should have been easy to fix but they took awhile. I had to call and email many times to get them fixed or answers. Again Jonathon Whitman has been great eventually getting me answers to the questions I asked. Still waiting on a couple items, hopefully they get resolved as he has informed me. As far as the energy reduction Nerd Power estimated around 4770kwh a month. Now knowing what energy upgrades they are doing and researching more about them, I don't see it getting there, but time will tell and I will post an update after all done (hopefully a good one) I believe they make a good profit in this area based on my research of the cost to do what they did on my own compared to what they charge for it. And that's fine as long as the actual energy reduction is close to what they estimate. The project manager and workers doing the upgrades have been doing a good job. As far as the solar panels, they are getting installed next week. They are lower efficiency panels then other quotes I got. Researching the panels I found out they are considered a very good panel. So I guess not being an excellent panel does allow for the cost to me to be lower. And again the sale person did a great job explaining the differences to me and according to him not a big difference. My estimated energy offset was 98.9%. Only time will tell if their estimate was close. I know its all an estimate but I believe if that's what you tell me, which convinced me to buy, it better be close. So eventually I will provide another update with my actual offset. (and again hopefully a good one) read more

CAUTION ?!!! Read entire review before you sign ***See BBB better business bureau complaints before hiring this company. Stay far away from this company signed contract since Oct -2023 they have 10k and have not done anything what are you waiting for ?! Have received nothing but runaround have been doing more than what I need to be doing as a customer meaning me calling them instead of them calling me. It's like they're asking one hand for permission for the other one to move. Don't understand. They are just the middle people the roof is done by someone else. Eliminate the middle man. Update :5/7/2024 I have called I have been waiting for a call back that has yet to come for the last 3 weeks. Also waiting on an email for the last 4-5 weeks that's has been signed already but since so much time has past you don't want to use it and want it signed again to "start". Wasted my lunch on hold with them trying to "figure it out" 30 min promised to get an email by the end of day. End of day and nothing Update :7/9/2024 Nothing has been done still waiting no money has been destined my roof has not been fixed have been calling text and no response. They have all the money from the insurance and deposit and nothing stay away from this company and Nerd Power. update: Had to reach out to the BBB and filed a complaint that is how I was finally able to get the owner to call me and actually do the job after almost 8mths and still did not fix what we needed. The rain still comes in the house. They paid a sub contractor 5k to do the job what happened to the other 5k. They tried to get more money out of us I just wanted the off my parents property. Update 4/11/2025: they are like a cancer that will not go away 20k for 1/3 of the roof ridiculous CAUTION !! CAUTION!! They go around door to door praying on seniors and people that don't know better. Stay away from this adjuster they take advantage of their own staff and then fire them when they have been used up. read more

The entire process was so easy and we couldn't be happier with the finished project, including an upgraded electrical panel!!! Our average monthly electric bill before solar was well over $300/mo. The first LADWP bill we received after going solar was $45 for 125 days...this is ridiculously amazing!!!! The only reason it wasn't $0 is because LADWP charges a $10/mo grid connection fee for solar customers. Feels great knowing our energy needs are covered for the next 25+ years and we are doing our part to reduce our carbon emissions. Simply, amazing! read more

Nerd Power has been great from start to finish. First our sales rep Jess is AMAZING and goes to bat for her clients, making sure everything is handled in a timely manner and keeps us up to date with the timeline and expectations. Then the project manager Angelica is on top of it when questions come up, but mostly we were impressed with how quickly things moved on their end. They Filed the permits for us, dealt with the city inspections/electrical inspections... very little effort on our end to get things in motion. Issues did come up here and there with technical problems, but those were acknowledged and worked on fairly quickly. Honestly my husband and I are completely impressed with this crew. Every other "crew" we have had at/around our house were complete clowns, but not these guys! These guys got a two thumbs up from my husband (which never happens). They were professional, completely prepared to install according to HOA rules, competent and most importantly - safe. Jeremy on the install crew, don't listen to the other guys... you don't look like Bieber at all! Thank you Nerd Power for a rapid install - fastest moving install in history (according to our city and electrical company). We will be recommending you to everyone of our contacts looking for solar! We recently switched to solar and bought my entire system from NERDPOWER. We couldn't be happier! It goes without saying that we are delighted that our monthly payment for power is now one half of what our average monthly bill was from APS! And that includes our solar system AND our power usage combined! But NERDPOWER delivered on everything they said they would. They didn't just design a system for our past historical usage. They worked with us to advise and reduce our current usage first so the system they designed and provided would be more than enough for our wisely reduced usage.They kept us informed of the progress and status of ALL permits, inspections, install dates, etc. We were never not totally aware of every single step along the way. Their people are highly skilled and always pleasant and eager to answer any questions that might have come up. We can look at their website or a phone app and see immediately the power our system is generating at any time and they do as well. In addition, we are looking forward to substantial Federal and State tax credits and not only will our power cost not go up every year like it used to, we have have increased the value of our home while saving money every month! I purchased Nerd Power's "solar shield" plan back in April. The plan clearly said they sealed air ducts and this was the reason I purchased it as the salesperon assured me it should fix my issues with my AC not venting properly to all rooms in the house. After the agreement Nerd Power became extremely difficult to get a hold of. They wouldn't return phone calls, and they wouldn't respond to messages on their online portal, After numerous attempts we finally got them to come over and do the instal. They did not seal the ducts and said they only sealed circular ducts, not square ducts. This is stated nowhere in any agreement we signed. In addition they were supposed to provide pictures of the work the did with the attic insulation, showing both before and after. They again became extremely difficult to contact. Never provided the pictures to show they did any actual work in the attic (they were only here for about an hour) and still have not sealed the air ducts as promised. When contacting them you just get canned comments that don't really have anything to do with what you are saying. read more

I recently worked with Brendan Ganch of NERD Power on a solar panel installation for my home. What a great company! We met our sales rep, Dallas Howell, in our neighborhood and when we asked what he did for a living, he told us where he worked. My husband has been wanting solar for a long time so when Dallas said he could do an analysis of our home, we were game. Dallas is extremely knowledgeable about his company and we just love him! He provided us with all the information and we were sold. The installation team was absolutely wonderful... on time, professionals and knowledgeable as well. Aaron, the project manager was able to be on site for the installation and he has got to be the most valuable player at that company. We received a new electrical panel, LED bulbs for the entire house, and they will be sealing all the ducts as well as putting in new ducts in the attic along with an attic fan! Nicole in the office is right on time as well providing emails with a status along the way. If you are going to get solar, go with NERD Power! You won't be sorry. She has, from Day 1, been completely receptive and available to us throughout every step of the process. We had questions. She would answer them immediately. The communications throughout the project phases was really outstanding. We always knew what was happening and when. Simply put: they did what they said they were going to do. Update: I am reducing the review for two reasons, first Dallas not following through with sending an email after our discussion and second because the main office is unresponsive. You can be great at sales but not responding to customers inquiries or following through is unacceptable for any company. I recently worked with Michael Cope, Nerd Power, Solar Energy Company Serving Arizona. I would highly recommend working with the company if you are looking into Solar Energy or improving your homes energy usage overall. Michael is extremely personable, knowledgable, fields all your questions, listens and most of all is not pushy. The company also partners with a good financial company. It is unfortunate that the timing was not good for me to fully pursue the opportunity but looking forward to doing so in the near future. Amazing experience with NERD Power, highly recommended!! Brendan Ganch was so knowledgeable, honest, attentive and so easy to work with! He came with his team, installed a 22 panel rooftop solar system with a 25yr warranty and it is now up and running. It just took a little while for the City of Burbank to approve the permits. We are still waiting for our first post-solar BWP bill to arrive, but so happy with the work and professional installation and equipment choices. The system generates full power as I can see in the application and on the production meter. Brendan and the NERD Power install team also added 14" of insulation to our attic and resealed all of our air ducts with a special sealant, much better than duct tape or zip ties. But then I came across NERD Power and did my homework on them. I watched all of their videos on YouTube. I talked to people who had used them. And I met the people who work there. I am extremely disappointed with my experience with NerdPower. A couple of years ago, they promised to resolve issues with my original solar company and improve my home's energy efficiency. Despite investing over $100,000 in upgrades, including two new HVAC units and additional solar panels, I have not seen any reduction in my energy bills over the past three years. Attempts to contact NerdPower for support have been futile. Their customer service line is now out of service, and they have not responded to any of my inquiries. This lack of communication and unfulfilled promises is unacceptable. I hope this review helps others make an informed decision and encourages the company to improve their customer service. read more

I've been working with Karl Goodman since June. At the time I was already in discussion with another company and Karl gave me a superior quote, which was nice. What really made me change contractors though was his professionalism -- he broke down in detail the costs, the benefits of using a certain type of panels and inverter, the financing, the value of using a Pearl Certified contractor, and the calculations for what size of system I need. All of that transparency and information helped me really understand why I needed to make the switch to solar -- and helped me understand that I wasn't getting swindled! I don't normally write reviews but was so impressed with the young lady that came knocking at my door to tell me about Nerd Power. The last thing I want to do is listen to a pitch from someone coming to my house however the young lady representing this company was so informative and obviously has a passion for not only Solar Power but informed me about the many ways I can take to reduce the energy use of my home.
