Came in do a late breakfast on New Year's Eve Day. The place was still pretty busy. The service is always top notch here. I go to sit wherever I wanted. I took my seat and had my order placed with in 5 minutes of sitting down. I got the fully loaded 3 egg scramble with biscuits and gravy. The gravy was definitely out of a can as I have tasted the same gravy before at other places. The scramble was just ok. Nothing to write home about. The hashbrowns were good. They were very crispy to say the least. If I am starving and wanna get my grub on with minimal effort I will go back for sure. This was only my second time eating there. read more

Food: best I have ever had here in many trips. Hash browns seemed cooked fresh, not frozen and tasted like grilled in butter!! Had eggs benedict. Good hollandaise sauce. My wife and I ate dinner here on 1/21/26. When we arrived we sat at a table and the server came to hand us menus and took our drink order. My wife and I ordered diet Coke's and when the drinks arrived they took our order. I had ordered the Bacon cheeseburger with fries and my wife ordered the Philly cheesesteak with tots. The food was great the servers provided excellent service. If you like sports they always have sports on the TV in the dining room and sports memorabilia along the walls. I've lived in Vancouver since 2016. 5 minutes from Battleground. I just now tried this place. First off. Decor wise, two words: DA BEARS. well cubs and bulls too. Whoever owns this place loves Chicago sports teams. But it wasn't tacky or anything. The service was amazing. The staff were attentive even with the busyness they had customer wise. Food is great, the fries are battered which have a great texture and crunch. Staff is very friendly and attentive. Overall environment of the restaurant is not too loud at all and they got some music going with the tv. 10/10 would recommend. Based on take out: the portions are so big! I got the chicken fried steak, full order, and it filled 2 boxes. The hashbrowns were probably better fresh- but the eggs were good. Reuben disappointing- reg sized bread barely grilled (although asked for extra), drippy and worst of all gross American cheese was all I could taste. Patty melt was good but used white onion vs red. Refills on sprite was nice. Fries had a coating that was good and crunchy with fry sauce- really great. Served in baskets and no booths. Priced ok. Always lots of customers but handles them quickly. I hadn't been here is a few years and was craving a Chicago-style Italian Beef, so I stopped by last night. I the place may have changed hands because whomever is making the Italian Beef has changed everything, and definitely not for the better. Overcooked meat, flavorless au jus (or gravy if you're from The Region), and inauthentic Italian hoagie roll (no way that it was an Amoroso). Even the side of french fries was different. My family and I came here on 9/3/25 for dinner we had the Philly cheese Steak with fries and tater tots. We also ordered iced tea and rootbeer. The service is great here. The food is delicious. Service was great. Small mom and pop shop. Food came out pretty fast and they did a lettuce wrap on my burger. I would come back to try breakfast. I had dinner with a relative recently. The onion rings were good. I was having a cheat meal and it hit the spot/expectations. The only thing I will knock is I forgot to ask for a med/med-rare burger. I wasn't asked a preference either. This sucker was well done. It was still good but would have been way better not over cooked. So voice how you want your burger cooked or it will be well done by default which is blasphemy IMO. Just a quick FYI - Google maps gets confused. Turn on 9th coming from the east. You're turning into a strip mall that has its back to Main St. Old Town is the first store. Call in order Service Is horrible. First, we called in an order and had to repeat it several time hoping the person on the other end understood us. Of course, when we arrive there wasn't 4 cheeseburger baskets like we ordered over the phone, but one. So we had to wait around for the rest of the order to be completed. After 20 minutes my daughter arrived to pick up the order (they said it would be ready in 10 minutes) and they said it wasn't ready. Not sure what happened to the original order we place but it should have been ready by time my daughter arrive to pick it up and she shouldn't have had to wait around to be given the for the wrong order even though she confirmed it was her name that it was ordered under. We went for breakfast and it was really good. It is a Chicago sports themed restaurant and I'm a Chicago Bears fan! I loved sitting and seeing a pic of Water Payton. He was a great man and football player. I had the eggs Benedict, but the eggs were a little over cooked, but the hollandaise sauce was so very good. I will order it again next time. We had two orders of the country fried steak, and corned beef. Side of bacon, coffees and OJ THE COUNTRY FRIEND STEAD IS AWESOME!! It came out hot crunchy and slathered in country gravy. The bacon was very good thick bacon and 2 of three pieces were floppy and one was crisp. If you like your bacon crisp you'll need to request it. The corner been is canned which is fine again if you want it crispy -you'll n Ed to request that. OJ was fine, not fresh but good. Coffee was a bit on the bitter side but decent enough :-) Service is friendly but you do need to ask for everything including coffee refills.... Perused the menu and decided on the loaded scramble. Veggies and meat! I was served with hash browns and an English muffin. The first cup of decaf coffee was barely warm but a new cup arrived and was hot as were refills. The 3 egg scramble was hot and very flavorful. The hash browns crispy but had a lot of oil that over powered the potatoes. Service was good. The place was mostly filled during our 90 minutes we weee there. My buddy had a simple cheese's omelette and hash browns with a biscuit. He didn't rave about it. We may come back for their namesake Burgers in the future read more

This place has fantastic breakfasts. We stopped in to try their other fare. The gyros are really good. The Chicago dogs rock! The onion rings are better than the tots. Tots are good. The service was mixed. The bacon double cheese burger with grilled onions arrived over cooked with raw onion and no bacon. The server quickly brought out a dish with bacon and grilled onions. This used to be a good place but over time the food quality has gone way down I kept coming back hoping it was a fluke because it's a convenient place. It's turned into a "greasy spoon" type place gross poor quality food cooked in burnt old dirty oil !
