I decided to go with the biscuits and gravy which was good and it came with a lot of gravy. Prototypical diner from aesthetic, service and food. If all you care about is bang for buck you will definitely get it here. As far as the food goes, everything is seasoned fairly poorly or overcooked. I have been here a couple times, corn beef hash and pancakes and eggs are what I've had there. The corn beef was more of a borderline beef jerky with an egg on top. The pancake was a good portion but the batter you can still see its consistency as mine were a bit undercooked. After leaving a review a couple of weeks ago I decided to return to see if the owners pay attention to their customers feedback. Apparently not since the same grease build up was on the wall in the kitchen in direct view of anyone sitting at the counter. Since my family has discovered this spot, it has become our favorite because it's honest food and you get multiple meals out of it. When we get omelettes it feeds the person for a week. lol. The last time I was there I decided to finally try something new. I got a BLT lunch w onions rings. Lemme tell ya!! The bacon was cooked perfectly crispy (they asked preference). What a hidden gem! Well maybe not so hidden because it was PACKED. Even though it was busy we still got seated in under 20 min at the bar. I got the CC hash HALF order, and it was huge. I can't imagine what the full order is like. It had a perfect ratio of ham, peppers, onions, and hashbrowns. The cheese melted while you were eating which was so good. And their country gravy is amazing. My fiance got the country fried steak with no complaints. We sat in front of the kitchen which had us staring at all the food. I ate breakfast here on Sunday 2/23/25 I had the ham and egg scrambled and because I'm on the Carnivore Diet I substituted the hashbrowns and toast for cottage cheese. When the food arrived it was served on a huge platter. It was a large portion of food. It tasted great. I have been driving by Carol's for a couple years taking my grandkids to school. There's always a long line out the door, so I never wanted to wait. But today, my wife had a breakfast urge, there was no line so it was our chance. First mental note, don't go unless you are hungry. They provided some of the largest portions of quality food I've ever seen. I had the 1/2 order sausage, mushroom and cheese omelet. The 1/2 order is a 3 egg omelet. It was huge, loaded with sausage chunks and mushrooms. This omelet could have fed my entire family. I also had the hash browns and ordered them extra crispy. They were served perfectly. The side of sourdough toast was also great. My wife had scrambled eggs, bacon, and biscuits with gravy. The bacon was thick country boy slices, again no skimping. It was a great meal. We also had a side large pancake, wanting to test a variety of items. Again, a huge pancake that could have been a standalone meal. We asked the waitress if there was anything special we should try. She suggested the homemade cinnamon roll. We took that to go. The cinnamon roll was a monster. It was after dinner dessert and fed the entire family. The grandkids loved it! The service was great and the ambiance made you feel right at home. It was a great meal and a location I'd recommend. Just remember, you can get a couple extra plates and eat off one dish. read more

Carol's is a classic "greasy spoon" local diner. Big, sometimes HUGE portions of food depending on what you order. You aren't gonna get 5 star restaurant service here, but you shouldn't be expecting that in the first place. Wow, my friend recommended coming here for breakfast and this place is spot on as far as the food goes. Do not come here if you don't like large portions of down home goodness. I was in the area and decided to try something different. I did my search on yelp to find a place to go. I ordered the country fried steak with a side of homemade hash. The CFS was good. Nothing special for me but it was good. The has browns we good. Crispy on the outside but soft in the middle. And a very generous portion. I can not eat eggs so I asked if they had egg whites to substitute. The answer was no. They should have asked if I would like fresh fruit or something but they didn't. The homemade hash was not very good. The beef was just shredded beef to me. Nothing corned about it. It was just beef and diced potatoes. No spices to notice. No flavor. The server was nice as could be. Food was fast They were voted best breakfast in Clark County. They have some living up to do to hold that title. read more

We had some friends recommend Carol's to us & the first thing they mentioned was their large portions. When we arrived around 9, there was line, no surprise. There is no sign in, you just get in line & wait for the next available table. We honestly didn't wait that long, but make sure you're dressed warm enough in case the line is long to where you have wait outside. Just know that there are half portions on a lot of the items. I even saw one customer ask their server if that was a half portion & she confirmed. So even half might be a lot. I'm a small eater, so I wanted something small. We went with the ham breakfast sandwich with hash browns, daily special number one, a side order of sausage links, & a half order of french toast. Yes, that was alot & we did end up taking some home. The sandwich was good & hashbrowns were nice & crisp on the top. The biscuit that came with the biscuits & gravy was more on the cakey side, which my boyfriend really enjoyed. We decided to check this place out since it's so close to the house and the reviews are so yum. It's easily accessible from 78th or St. John and has a large parking lot to accommodate its large fan base. They don't put your name on a list (at least on Saturday afternoons) and you just stand in line. We didn't know that and the people who were already standing there were a little pissed that we didn't. They seated us within a few minutes, but they didn't really need to rush because it took 30+ minutes for them to get us the order. I got a plain burger with tots and he got the hamburger steak with hash browns, scrambled eggs and a side of over easy eggs. Once we got the food, we were underwhelmed by the quality of their cooking. Everything could have used seasoning and salting the hell out of it doesn't count. The prices were on par with the times. (Read: High) A 6 egg Denver omelet will run you over $20. Our two dishes came to $38 without tip. Based on our experience, I can only conclude that people crowd here for the location and the portions which are generous. Yea this is on the corner and you cannot make uturn. The place is bigger then it looks from the street they have a lot of seating inside. We had country fried steak which was good they give you a lot of hash browns. And enough gravy. Which was really good. I had bacon and eggs over easy eggs which were over cooked I like my eggs runny but a lot of restaurants don't get it the I like anyways.. but the bacon they give you like 6 pieces of bacon that is meaty and cooked just right with a little crunchy. This place is really clean and has a lot of seating they have a whole backside with tables. The staff here is super friendly and waitress is always filling up you drinks. read more
