Summer days have never felt more relaxing than when you're by the water in one of their many lounge chairs. If your'e with family, like I was, there's paddle boarding, a game center, picnic areas, and beautiful scenes. Dan and Roseana, and really the whole staff, were so welcoming, warm, and accommodating to our every need. No request went unanswered. If you go you must stay for the weekend, or at least until Friday if you're staying during the week. Their lobster bake by the water is so enjoyable; it's a true Maine experience. In fact, it's more than that. It's a Tarry A While experience. You can't get that kind of community with delicious food anywhere else in Maine. I will definitely be going back and will always ask friends and family to come with me!

Nick and Jessica go above and beyond for their couples and Cassie is an incredible day of coordinator that makes you feel like you're at home on your big day. It was pouring rain all day on Saturday and the whole BMI team made our day so special. We decided early on to have our ceremony in the beautiful barn on site and it was literally the most beautiful set up I've ever seen at a wedding. We couldn't get over how beautiful everything looked. It is such an intimate and beautiful memory that is burned in our brains for life. Our wedding was for about 160ish people so we rented a tent to do our reception outside - this couldn't have been an easier process and the tent looked like a fairy tale out on the yard. When I tell you think is the most incredible wedding venue on the face of the Earth we so mean it. Every single moment our wedding was so perfect and it was really was made possible by the team at the Bear Mountain Inn. Nick, Jessica and Cassie + team we LOVE YOU GUYS SO MUCH and legit cannot wait to come back in the winter to hang out and party with you guys. Thank you SO much for everything you did for us WE LOVE YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!! ps - these photos were taken by Ben Wheeler at Ben Wheeler Photography Rooms: Literally the cleanest, most beautiful rooms I've stay at away from home. Noteworthy details: The property the Bear Mountain Inn sits on is a literal dream. It was foggy and raining on our wedding day and it really looked like something out of a movie like OMG take me back!!!

The drive to this location was rural but as you get closer the views are so beautiful. We drove by beautiful waterways - not sure if they were ponds or lakes, but they were beautiful and snow capped mountains in the distance - simply breathtaking as you drive further away from civilization. The location is easy to find, it's private enough for your events as well - far away from heavily traffic roads. There was plenty of parking for our group of 38 people (some of us did car pool). The grounds were so well kept - clean and neat and multiple outdoor fire pits to sit around, each with comfy chairs. The views of the water from the Inn grounds were so peaceful. You can also hike away from the water as well. So much nature to just take in, very calming for frayed nerves. The buildings are updated, but remain with a rustic style. Seems like pages right of a catalog. Gorgeous. The owners were so warm and welcoming to our group and very respectful of the privacy of the retreat. They took the time to welcome each of us and get to know us as people. Very much felt like we were guests in their home. It was fantastic. We hope to be able to visit again next year. Beautiful venue for retreats, weddings and gatherings. I highly recommend based on my days worth of experience.

Was looking forward to sitting in the jacuzzi in our "penthouse" the whole weekend. Well I decided, because of horror stories of Jacuzzis in hotels, that I was going to run a bottle of bleach with warm water through it when I got there. The jacuzzi was nasty the amount of dead skin and black mold that came out just from that was disgusting. The office sent housekeeping up to the room to clean the jacuzzi. And took half off our first night since we couldn't use it. We'll I decided to pull off the jets and look to see if they cleaned. Nope. I took a toothbrush and bleach and scrubbed every single jet. This is my vacation. I have worked my ass off this summer and paid alot of money to literally scrub a jacuzzi to use ONE time! Will NEVER go back and will NEVER recommend to anyone. If you're reading this and are in CH133B this week. The jacuzzi is nice and clean. You're welcome.

Thankfully, I was situated within the Pool building on the inside so it had more of a Hotel than Motel feeling. Plus this typically affords more peace and quiet. So when it came time for dinner, there did not seem to be too many places in the area. So I thought I'd try the attached restaurant. The dining room was quite large. I was quickly seated and was one of a hand full of patrons in the room. I decided to try the special: beer battered shrimp, salad (forgot to tell her to hold the croutons), baked potato and broccoli. I was served a mini loaf of hot, standard recipe white bread with whipped "butter." My rant: There should be a law against restaurants calling margarine "butter". As nicely whipped and pretty as it presented, this "butter" was MARGARINE - the old fashioned, cheap kind. No "touch of cream" or buttermilk or half and half. It was terrible, as was the bread. The salad was leaf lettuce, red onion, cherry tomatoes, shredded carrots, and once I removed the abundant croutons, was decent. The baked potato was - well - a baked potato, which I chose not to ruin with MARGARINE. The broccoli was over cooked to the point of having some pieces that were scorched. The highlight of the plate were the 4 jumbo, beer battered shrimp. They were delicious; however, I wanted some tartar sauce to go with them. It took me 5 minutes of waving my arms to finally catch the eye of A busboy. He wanted to know who my waitress was. I couldn't tell him but the Hostess came and got the sauce for me. Evidently, the one waitress I saw working, also worked the bar and other eating area which is not in sight of the dining room. That seemed problematic to me. It is summer time. This is a recreational area. I assume that this Resort relies on tourists to keep going. It is Monday night. Perhaps that made the difference in service levels. I don't blame the waitress - she had a lot of area to cover. The Beer Battered Shrimp, I could eat all day. They were delicious. Serving scorched broccoli was unacceptable. And if you're going to serve margarine, please don't call it butter - butter substitute maybe, but not butter.

While happy with my slow but steady…read moreprogress, I'm often looking for ski locations offering trails that align with my current ability and offer a bit of a challenge when I'm up for it. Cranmore delivered just that and more. Lots of greens and blues where I could work on my skills, try trails with escalating difficulty, and still kick back when I just want to enjoy myself and not be a ball of nerves. I also enjoyed the length and variety of their many trails I could traverse. Was happy to have more options than just a quick up and down in a straight line over a full day of skiing. Their main lift was quick and skiers were able to load efficiently. Lots to look at on the way up. The day of my last visit there were several ski competitions going on just next to the lift so it was fun to watch people competing and see spectators make the trek up to watch as well. Ski patrol were out and about and lots of staff available to check in with as needed. The lodge itself had everything I needed... free cubbies to store your stuff, bench seating to change into your boots, adequate table space both up and downstairs to grab a bite to eat, indoor and outdoor gas fireplaces to huddle by, a bar and hot foods, and best of all... a bathroom at the same level as where you can ski up to so no having to navigate stairs in clunky footwear. Drop off area for skis, quick in and out to purchase tickets, simple walk over to a very large parking area. I can't wait to return when the opportunity arises!

The mountain coaster was the best part, and we only waited a max of 5 min in line, and ended up riding it 6 times. There was a longer line for the Soaring Eagle zipline and Swing, only because they can only hold a few people at a time. The chair lift had nice views. The trampoline was entertaining, but kinda one note. The inflatable obstacle courses were both scalding hot in the sun and had puddles from rain the night before, so my kids didn't like those. I'd recommend Cranmore Adventure Park for 2-3 hours of fun.

You're right in the middle of everything, yet set back from the road, which is nice. The view out the window was beautiful. We got upgraded to a room with a little extra room with 2 twin beds, which came in handy when my hubby wanted to sleep but I was still up watching TV or reading. I just went into the other room. I actually like the 'retro' feel of this place. So sick of the cookie cutter, boring, cold feel of most hotels these days. That being said, I hope they put some care into this hotel. The sink and tub nozzles were near impossible to pull out! It was so hard to pull them out that anyone with arthritis would never be able to operate the bathroom sink and tub. The toilet was funky in that you had to hold the latch down for about 30 seconds to get it to flush. Very annoying. The indoor pool was pretty gross. There was like a black mold around the edges and you could see the dirt on the bottom .. my husband was excited to swim in the pool, but looked at it and said 'nope'!! Yeah, the parking lot is a bit far, and you have to unload and walk up stairs with all your stuff if you're on the 2nd floor, but it wasn't that big of a deal. The breakfast was good. And the price was reasonable. If you don't want to spend $350 a night for a hotel in N. Conway during ski season, this place is doable. We paid about $150 a night. You can get nit picky about this place... hopefully, the owners will fix some of the problems. Hubby wasn't a fan, but I'd stay here again.
