I took in my BMW to get serviced for multiple different issues, and the turnaround time was quick, they were responsive, and they communicated with me throughout the process between the warranty company. It's difficult to find a shop that is willing to work on BMW, so I am very thankful that they have a mechanic that specializes in European cars. They have a 2 year/ 24,000 mile guarantee, which is the best that I have come across. Bernie was so kind to lend me a rental vehicle at no additional cost since I was going to be without a car! I needed one brake caliper and a brake flush done on my left rear caliper. The first day he said he couldn't get to it and just looking for parts. Second day they said they couldn't get to it in the morning or until late afternoon because two of the guys called out, which is understandable, I didn't think I'd have it until the next day. But that same day I received a call and it was done and when I went to pick up my car and pay the bill it was $906. They only spent 2 hours worth of work and billed me $500 worth of Labor and they replaced the other side brake caliper and put new pads on the rear with a brake flush. Total bill almost 1,000. Definitely got charged wayy more than what needed to be done. Wouldn't recommend. read more

Bernie and his guys are true angels! We were traveling on 395 north from Bishop to Sparks on our 2nd day of a long vacation, and our check engine light went on in our motorhome. We made at least a dozen phone calls, when we had any cell service in the mountains, to find a place who could run diagnostics and potentially help us. Bernie invited us to come right in as soon as we got to town. They diagnosed the problem and counseled us on what caused it and how to avoid it in the future. Fortunately, we didn't need any repairs. On our way out of the shop we heard a rattle and Bernie found that problem too - we had lost a hubcap nut somewhere on the road. He told us where to go to replace it...and sent us on our merry way...all at no charge and with wonderful good humor. Five Stars for these terrific guys. read more

Long story short....sort of. But worth reading!!! I took my car to get the suspension repaired, front and rear end struts and other components. Paid these guys almost $6000 up front for the work. After almost 3 months of calling and getting the same "it'll be done on Wednesday" "it'll be done on Friday" and getting yelled at by the owners, I finally got the car back from them....not done right. The first time I drove it, it kept making all kinds of noises, so I took it back, when the mechanic jumped in for a test drive and heard all of the noises, he said "I told the owner that this car wasn't ready". I left it there again, I got the car back from them a week later, took the car to Sacramento and it started making all kinds of noises after just a few miles on the road, then I Sent my daughter back to drop it off to be repaired, and the staff was rude and even cussed at her. I then decided to take the car to the dealership in town. When they inspected it, they discovered that the front strut were still the original struts, that they attempted to remove them and they broke them on the process and just left them. We could've had a serious accident because the front suspension was not attached to anything. Also, they broke stabilizing bars, clips and other things. The rear struts were replaced for cheap cheap cheap struts that broke after only a few miles on the road. The owner was not happy that I took the car to the dealer, specially when the quote from the dealer was almost $8500. Well, after a month of going back and forth and my attorney getting involved I got my car fixed right and back. It was a complete nightmare to deal with these guys. Absolutely the worse place I've ever taking any of my vehicles. Call them May 27th asking if they could just inspect hoses, belts and for sure install new air filter that I needed it by June 3rd and was told "yes". When I took it down on the 28th the owner was mad and wanted to know who told me to bring it down. On June 15th I called asking what the status was on my RV and was told it has been ready for awhile. He then told me he had to look over the workorder and he would call me back. After waiting a week for a call back, I tried twice on June 22nd to talk with him only to be put on hold for 5 plus minutes and no answer. I drove down there on the 22nd and did pick up RV and the one thing I asked them to do for sure didn't get done and that was the air filter. If I could give them a negative 5 I would. Will be taking this scam shop to court. Bernie is the worst manager in the history of managers. Zero customer service skills, extremely rude and is a liar. My daughter should have did research before dropping her car off at this pitiful place that shouldn't have a license. My daughter's jeep had codes pop up, she took it to Auto zone, they provided her with the codes, advised that it was minor and to have the codes cleared in which she took the jeep to Nevada Auto Diagnostic on a Monday. Monday evening she received a call saying that her car began to leak while THEY test drove it, test drove it for an hour and that a hole is now inside of the engine block. There was no leak or hole when my daughter dropped off her jeep and the younger guy working there admitted this. My daughter received no update Tuesday, I finally got a hold of rude Bernie who stated "when he finds out, I will find out, when the owner let's him know what they will do or won't do, he will let me know"....It is now Friday, no update except that the owner will not be in until NEXT Friday. Bernie told my daughter that other codes popped up and wherever she got the initial codes must have had a cheap scanner because his is $25,000.... Bernie refused to provide any contact number to the owner and asked my daughter to go outside as she's asking for her keys back. These POS people jacked up my daughter's jeep. I'm having it towed elsewhere and will be taking these slime balls to court. They have messed with the wrong daughter. There's no getting away with this. See you in court bozo. read more

My 2003 Jetta broke down and I had it towed to Nevada Auto Diagnostics to have it checked out. I signed an authorization for $125 to have the car evaluated. Two days later I received a call to tell me that they replaced the starter and needed to replace the alternator. They sent a quote for $1,478 dollars to do the repairs. I told the mechanic that I authorized $125 and to remove the new starter and install the original starter. He told me that they would have to charge me to do that. Nevada law states: All work over $50 requires a written estimate. You have the right to require authorization before any additional repairs are made to your vehicle if the charges for those repairs exceed 20% of the original estimate or $100, whichever is less. You have the right to read and understand all documents and warranties before you sign them. You have the right to inspect all replaced parts and accessories that are covered by a warranty and for which a charge is made. You have the right to request that all replaced parts and accessories that are not covered by a warranty be returned to you at the time of service. You have the right to require authorization before any additional repairs are made to your vehicle if the charges for those repairs exceed 20% of the original estimate or $100, whichever is less. You have the right to receive a completed statement of charges for repairs made to your vehicle. I demanded that they restore my car to the original state and that I would pick it up the next day. I had it towed to another mechanic. He told me that 9 times out of 10, in these situations, replacing the alternator is all that needs to be done. He replaced the alternator and the car started right up. The quote from Nevada Auto Diagnostics included $282 for the starter and $373 for the alternator for a total of $655. Shops get a substantial discount on parts and then they mark them up substantially. Their cost, after returning the used parts for a core charge, would have been less than $210. They tripled the cost of the parts on top of the $579 labor cost, not including the $125 to diagnose the problem. Not a bad return for 4 1/2 hours work. Be informed! read more

I was happy to pay them money just to get my car out of there. They did not fix the problem I came in with or seem to understand it, probably knowing they were not capable of addressing it anyway. They took out perfectly good parts that last 100,000 miles and replaced them with autozone stuff. Traveled to Reno one snowy night from the SF Bay and we had some snow chains that weren't properly fitted. Long story short chains did some damage inside the wheel well and took out the ABS sensor causing a whole bunch of brake system sensors to light up. Next day I asked for some help on Yelp and the Owner answered to my help. Took the car in before noon and still they were able to fit us in with a diagnostic, order the part, and our car was ready to go next morning. Chris was very helpful through the whole process and updated us frequently making this stressful situation less worry some. Everyone we met including front desk were friendly and caring. NEVER GO HERE!! SCAM!!! I'd rate 0 stars. They had me sign an empty work order, basically giving them a blank check towards repairing the specific parts of the vehicle I requested. They verbally quoted me 250$ which I recorded with my phone. The next day after repairs, they sent me the invoice and it was about 526$. More than double the initial quote. They also didn't provide any written quote before starting the repairs for me to confirm beforehand. This seems to be a repeated issue they seem to have of not getting their clients consent ahead of time and then forcing them to either wait for the parts to be removed and still pay, or you pay their extortionate prices you didn't consent to. These guys are scam artists. When I confronted them about this problem. The man at the desk said "well I can remove the parts if you'd like" I said no I'd rather you guys just give me the quote you guys quoted yesterday. They said the quote they gave yesterday was the minimum. I listened back on that conversation multiple times. The word "minimum" never left their mouths when they were quoting me. They lie to save their butts. Then when I threatened to report them to the BBB and the Bureau of Consumer Protections, they threatened to put a lien on my car. They then threatened to remove the parts and still have me pay anyways. They then finally told me to pay 250$ and never come back (Like I planned to ever come back anyways lol). It is illegal to not give the client a written quote ahead of repairs if the repairs are above 50$. They realized this and they wanted me out before I could cause more disruption and drive away buisness, which they should have none of in the first place. Also, I got all this legal information from a family friend who's a mechanic. When I told them that they thought he was the last one to fix my car and tried to insult his handy work. He hasn't worked on the car in a few years now. It just shows how childish, petty, unprofessional, confrontational, rude, and outright d*cks when they are confronted with their scummy behavior. The owner sent a rather snarky response to this review which probably makes them look even worse. They changed their excuse from "it was just a minimum" to "it was just the minimum of the diagnosis" when the question I asked was "how much do you think this whole repair will cost?" that doesn't sound like a question you'd answer with just the diagnosis estimate with. They are very responsive and quick to answer all my questions, they came and towed my car as well. Called Friday morning and was advised mechanic was out doing a test drive and would call back. No call. Went in at 2:30. Was advised what they thought was wrong, but didn't have time to fix it. I got there around 11:55am and they took down my zip code and asked for my keys. I sat down and waited. They were so fast. It only took about 20 minutes. The price ended up being $59. This place is not very good at smog checks. Took my truck here for smog check and they failed it because they said it doesn't have a EGR. I have had the truck for years and never had a issue with smog. I told them they made a mistake but all they did was give me false excuse and BS. They wanted me to have my truck repaired by them and when I said no the charges me $60+ for a failed smog check. My truck runs great without any check engine lights. I didn't believe their BS so I immediately took it to a different smog place and without telling them what happened I wanted to see if they would say the same thing. They hooked up my truck and it passed just fine. They know right away I just had it tested and ask why I was having a recheck. I showed them Nevada Auto Diagnostic's failed report. They told me that nothing is missing on my truck and there was no reason why it should have failed in the 1st place. I will try to post a photo of both smog sheets so you can see the time and date of the failed and passed smog. Also they are charging $60+ for a smog and the other place only charges me $35. Update: I took my truck to a "diesel smog only place" and then to DMV and both the smog only place and DMV told me your tech was wrong and misinformed. DMV directly said that your tech was wrong and should have never failed my truck in the 1st place. read more

We brought our 2005 Chevy Silverado in to have it looked at for low fuel rail/sysyem pressure. The shop had our vehicle for 2 weeks and after our 2nd call to check the status of the job we get an extremely rude "Yeah, well, I haven't got a chance to get to it" from a less than polite and eloquent Bernie who apparently runs the shop. Mind you this is the same professional who had us bring our truck in a few weeks prior to this incident for another issue with fuel filter housing and asked specifically that we pay cash if we wanted it done that day so that seemed a bit sketchy from the start, but it was a Saturday and they said they could take care of it that day so we went ahead and brought it in . Flash forward to this past weekend after we go pick up our vehicle which has not even been looked at in the past couple weeks, nor have we received any sort of contact from this shop. Luckily my husband's friend has a son who is a recent diesel mechanic school grad and came over the other night, determined the issue was a relay and fixed the truck in our driveway in about a couple hours and yet this "professional" shop couldn't manage to get to it at all over the course of a couple weeks! In fact, they seemed particularly unconcerned about losing any sort of patronage. In situations such as this, someone should be contacting the client if there is going to be a delay in service and not be rude and short after the client has to call twice after waiting a week with no communication whatsoever. This business is poorly run and offers zero communication and terrible customer service. I would check with any other shop in town able to service your vehicle before coming here. So this is the only place I go and can't say it is good or not for smog check. I made appointments twice to bring my car in to check for something else but two times they told me I need to go back because they are busy then, what is the point of people making appointments for? Bad bad bad. Went in for a smog, very expensive, was told we must have removed catalytic converter and several other "visual inspection" items which we did not. The truck passed the emissions test but 'failed' the visual. They charged me anyhow and said they normally recharge when you come back but he would 'waive' the charge for me next time. What a scam! And, we brought it there last year just after buying the truck from out of state, we have done nothing to the truck nor removed anything since getting it and they passed it then. Nevada Auto Diagnostics is one of a handful of diesel smog stations in Reno and they mail out flyers advertising a $29.99 diesel smog check. They honor that price some of the time, but not all the time. The last two years when I had a diesel smog done, they honored the coupon deal, but now they give some baloney about an "all wheel dyno" being required even though it's not an all-wheel drive vehicle and they charge 50% more than the advertised price. The smog guy is less than confidence inspiring - the guy who did the work the last two years was a lot more professional. Thanks anyway - I'll go somewhere else next year. read more

Guys there were friendly and helpful, and there's no need to make an appointment so I popped on over during my lunch break. There's a pretty big waiting room where they have coffee and I can update myself on the most recent celebrity gossip (with the most recent issues, heyyyyy!). Considering they have to own a $150k machine to smog my car, the $46 price tag was pretty reasonable. They could get away with a lot more, given the limitations, so it shows character. All around auto care nightmare. The AAA tow truck driver recommended I take my Mazda RX8 to this shop instead of the local dealership after experiencing some issues with the computer in my Car on Thanksgiving 2015 weekend. After sticking around for a week +, the shop was still unable to advise on the timing things would be completed due to snow storms and UPS shipping issues. I arranged a rental car to allow me to continue business as usual in the Bay Area and as soon as I entered Sacramento, I received a call advising my car was magically completed and ready for pick up. This is especially frustrating as I could have avoided over $500 in rental costs. The shop was a eager to get paid for the job and offered to drop my car with my local family so it wouldn't just sit in their lot. I sent over payment and then it took over 5 days for the actual drop off to happen. As soon as I returned to Reno the week prior to Christmas, I inspected the car and my check engine light was still on and the electrical signal to the center console was still not functioning properly. The car also struggled to start randomly. I called Bernie and brought the car back to the shop. His tech took 5 minutes to reset the codes and blow me off as they were in the midst of moving locations. I was told the issue was fixed and all would be fine if I just drove it. The issue was not resolved and yet again I faced electrical issues with my center console affecting my ability to operate the clock, radio, and air con/heater. Bernie was radio silent to all my communication efforts and the shop was unable to resolve anything when I called directly. When Bernie finally responded nearly two weeks ago, he said he was out with health concerns and promised to send over extended warrantee information. I still have yet to receive. Life happens, but that doesn't remove the responsibility to communicate with customers in a timely fashion. After two full months of unresolved issues and lacking communication, the next step is legal action. Unless you have basic auto needs like smog/oil change etc I'd avoid this shop at all cost. read more
