Called last week and set an appointment for Saturday at 8am for an oil change and smog check for my RV. Made arrangements for someone to pick me up so I didn't have to wait around with kids for two hours. Showed up right on time, nobody there. Called, no answering machine, no voicemail, no answer. Waited till almost 9 thinking maybe there is only one guy and he had to make a run to the auto parts store. Finally had to leave. Called today to see what happened and after he confirmed I indeed had an appointment for Saturday at 8am, he told me he decided to give the shop three days off for Memorial Day. I had to explain to him three times how that was fine, but he has a responsibility as a business owner to let people who have appointments for that day KNOW THAT NO ONE WILL BE THERE before he even realized he had done anything wrong. read more

I'm shocked that a local business would do this. I took my truck to Nevada Auto Diagnostics for a diesel smog since this is closer to my home rather that the place I usually go, Sierra Diesel Injection. There were no set prices anywhere I could see so I figured all shops priced there services at least in the same ball park. After my smog I was charged $59. Thinking that was high, I contacted Sierra Diesel and they confirmed that they charged $34.99. I was pretty fumed and I called Nevada Auto Diagnostics back. They told me that the DMV charges a set amount and it's up to the IND shops to set their price. So I proceeded to point out, "so you guys decided to charge 85% more than local competitors." They then offered to refund the different but I don't trust this shop enough to let them touch my credit card again. I should have to be swindled and then have to come back and be reimbursed. If you want to treat people this way, especially with COVID-19. Then good luck with your business plan. read more

This shop is the worst example of a business I have ever dealt with. My RV was dropped off 05/24/22 for and exhaust manifold, which parts were provided at time of drop off. What proceeded for the 2-1/2 months that followed was to say lightly unbelievable and unforgettable. No communication what so ever. I had to call every single week to check the status, while met with hostility, bs excuses and attitude as if I was in the wrong (Bernie). Dodging call, voicemails and not one attempt to inform me of progress or lack there of, no estimate was given, no authorization was attempted. Instead this shop proceeded to outsource labor, drag there feet and continuously put my RV on the back burner with no care, understanding of the booked, paid and plans that I had for camping all summer. Actually was told and promised my RV would be ready by the July 4th weekend only to call expecting to p/u my RV and realize they had left early for the holiday and no warning my RV was not even close to done. After all the neglect and lack of communication was then presented with a 2.2k bill and told that it was ready to pick up but other issues existed with the cat and quoted repair on the day I'm picking up with no advanced notice to maybe take care of and pick up my RV in good running condition, mind blown, however would never take them up on the offer anyway because my RV would remain in that god awful shop for another 2 months. This so called business has no place in our city and represents everything you could imagine in a nightmare, DO NOT GO HERE EVER, WASTE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY ON A DISGRACE OF A SO CALLED BUSINESS.. read more

Need to give a past due shout out to Nevada Auto Diagnostics A in Reno, Nevada - for saving my ass, and our first Burning Man​ trip. As many of you know, #Winnie was throwing a tantrum with several issues the minute we left Sonoma. Brian Dingman​ and I only got as far as Rocklin before Winnie'd had it and she forced us to spend the first night in a Camping World parking lot. The next morning we Ubered to a NAPA Auto Parts​ in Loomis and, after a few hours bottoming for Winnie, I thought I'd got her purring again. However, shortly after Donner Pass, she started experiencing power loss and we nursed her to Nevada Auto Diagnostics, arriving at 4:15pm on Saturday, 45 min before closing, certain our trip was over. Manager Bernie and mechanic Theo jumped on Winnie, like we'd arrived at the emergency room at the hospital! They triaged her and found additional other potentially disastrous issues that could have strandeded in the middle of nowhere - ex. the starter was barely hanging on by one bolt! In addition, Bernie overheard heard Brian and I lamenting all the errands we still had to do at Home Depot, Walmart, get ice, etc, in the assumption we'd even make it out out of Reno and handed us the keys to his own personal Audi. Brian and looked at him in disbelieve, thinking he was kidding with us. He then said, "Take my car. We'll be done by the time you get back." Our heats nearly burst! We couldn't believe this man, who didn't know us from Adam & Steve, would entrust us this way. Bernie, Theo and additional staff worked way past closing, to about 6:30pm, with great can-do attitudes and were friendly the entire time. They saved our trip. Bernie and his staff were wonderful in getting our catalytic converter replaced on our motorhome. As with most repairs, this one was not expected, but even more so because the motorhome was vandalized right at the start of camping season. Bernie went out of his was way to get our parts quickly, even during the pandemic, and even went in on Sunday to do the work so we would be able to go camping a few days later. This is by far the best automotive shop I've been to in this damn town. I'm a 5'2 little girl who drives and mud drags a jacked up diesel truck. Time and again I'm treated like I don't know anything because I'm female. EXCEPT for this shop!!! From Bernie to all the other guys. The work they do on my truck has been better than I expected they take care of all my small to large repairs, my crazy conversion ideas and my smogs. One of the only shops that can smog a diesel and super profitable about it. I can't recommend this shop more. Bernie had our RV of over 5 months - and all he was suppose to do was a diagnostic on it. I kept checking back to see what was happening, but he was seldom available, I showed up in person to find out he had not even been there for 2 months. He sent out our RV to another company and had work done - even though he knew I had already spoken to that company and had my own arrangements made. I would NOT recommend this business - we did get our RV back and it still does not run correctly and NEVER got the diagnostic we took it there for. read more

Took me 2 years to calm down after doing"business" with these cats. wouldn't trust them with a oil change. Had them "take care" of my truck after 3 months of no vehicle, I got pissed and got my truck. After being told numerous times they couldn't replicate the issue. Cost me a new computer I didn't need and a a new dash cluster with 50k more miles than when they took the truck, for a bad ground wire. I'm still trouble shooting their swap parts and hope method. Go anywhere else, hell a divining rod, and a magic 8 ball would have been more helpful than these cats. And yes it was just a ground wire, now to continue chasing down what they swapped out. I'd give Kindergarten students wrenches, and access to my truck before I ever consider these dudes again( well after a frontal lobotomy). read more

Beware!!! They have a coupon for oil change. It does not say anything about a disposal fee, but time to time, randomly, they would ask you to pay $5 for the fee. It's like whenever they feel like. Mechanic shops like these that would take advantage of people who are soft, you cannot really trust them. If they really want to charge the fee, they could put it in the coupon. I have told them to put it in the coupon, but they don't. Then, they try to charge it sometimes. Most places charge $3 for disposal fee, but this place charge $5. Soon or later, they will rip you off big with unnecessary fixes. Not worth the risk. read more

So he walks over to my driver side door and opens it and I told him my fiancé and daughter were in there and he said he is kicking them out of my car. I will never go back to this place. The first time my vehicle was over a week late. I had to go back because they did not do the brake job they were supposed to do and released the car to me as okay to drive with the rear brakes in bad condition. So I took it back and I am on day 8 when it was supposed to be a two-hour break job. So if you don't like paying hundreds of dollars for rentals you shouldn't need then I wouldn't use these people. I will say they attempted to make it right the first time with a small job done complementary, to make up for the 10 day hold.. which was appreciated. I even would have overlooked the rear brake job getting botched. If I would have came back from my 7-Day vacation and they would have took the two hours out sometime during that hundred hours span... Very bad service took for ever and scratched my steering wheel when asked about it they had an additude and said all the tech wear glove but when the brought the car out he did not. I had also taken my truck there for a smog and got it back with grease on the seat and steering wheel thought it was a one time thing and the wiped the grease off but this time will be my last dont take your care to them if you value the condition of the interior as they dont! read more

I am so glad to see this auto shop come back servicing us again. They used to occupy the corner in the shopping plaza that also hosted A&W fast food. They had disappeared due to the plaza sold to a new owner, and they were forced out and had closed for 8 months. Now, they are back in this new location. They helped me with my car front brake pads replacement, with me bringing in my own high performance rotors for their installation. Not so many shop will help you with this. My door latch had broke. My boyfriend had me take it here because it's right by his work and he had taken his car there and they did great work with a good price. I took it in on a Friday at about 4. I called them the next day and they said they had to order the piece and that it wouldn't be done till Monday. I then get a call on Monday saying he had good and bad news. He said that as he was calling the Ford dealership for the part they needed he found out that all the door latches were under recall. He had already gotten me an appointment and was going to drop off the car at Ford for me. That's AWESOME. I thought it was great that he did all that. He didn't make any money off of me but was still so helpful. I would most def take my car there in the future. I feel I can trust them, and they went above and beyond. They could have taken advantage of that situation. I didn't give 5 stars because I didn't actually use their services. So I don't feel I can verify the work they do. read more

Very very busy at all times, you need an appointment even for a diagnostic it seems. I thought my alternator was bad due to a scan at AutoZone. However Nevada Auto Diagnostics gave me a more ACCURATE diagnosis, saying it was the battery. Battery replaced in 20 mins! They are super nice, saved me from replacing my alternator! read more

Stay far away from this place if you need and real mechanical repair. I brought them my 2005 f250 diesel that had cracked heads. they diagnosed the problem to be a broken connecting rod in cylinder 1, then later thought it could be in cylinder 5. Well the problem was in the heads not the lower end of the engine whatsoever. So i gave them the go ahead to tear down and replace. They finished the job, handed the truck back to me and not even 1000 miles later the engine blows up. i was fed up at this point so i took my truck to ford down the street. Ford discovered that all of the push rods had been installed upside down which had wore through the rocker arm in the head and broke it in half. Ford also advised me that there were various bolts missing in the head assemblies themselves. When i confronted Bernie (manager) about the problem and that they installed parts upside down and missing! he proceeded to argue with me and tell me that "it doesn't matter which way the push rods are installed" which is total crap. the push rods have a brass coating on one end so they don't wear through the cradle in the rocker arm! They eventually picked up the bill from ford after i threatened to sue them. After the fact Bernie later disclosed to me that the mechanic that worked on my truck had also screwed up 2 other vehicles and stole thousands of dollars worth of tools from the shop. You would think that on a 7000 dollar job they would put their most competent worker on it but thats just the mentality of this place. Im sure they couldn't catastrophically screw up a smog or something simple like that but i would NEVER come back here even to install a windshield wiper... Very shady. be careful and always CYA! read more

My girlfriend took her motorhome to these people at the request of a co worker. She was never given any estimates or quote, yet received a call that the motorhome was complete. Upon picking the motorhome up she was presented a bill for $1849.82. This was completely shocking! As it was taken in for a tune up, oil change, 2 leaking faucets and check the generators charging system. Upon looking at the invoice I notices a sublet repair of $535.00 to REPAIR "shower head and faucets". This is absurd as both faucets could have been purchased new and installed for much less, there is a couple "O" rings in there that's it! Upon driving the motorhome it now runs worse than it did prior to taking it to them. It ran fine before just wanted to do a periodic tune up, oil change, as she just purchased it. Now the frustrating part! I have called 3-4 times and cannot get any help or answers. Two times I have called I was directed to two different gentleman that had such heavy accents that I could not understand them. The next I talked to a woman that said she would have the correct person call me back to answer my questions. This never happened, it has been over a week. read more

Brought my truck in they repaired it but when I got it back the check engine lite was on. I told them and they took it to the back and cleared the lite but did not check why it was on. I left there to go back to San Francisco and on the way back the lite came back on. Took it to a real repair shop and I saw that they did not plug the TPS sensor all the way in so my truck was not shifting properly. They are to rushed to make the cash. They even charge you more if you use a debit or credit card. I would never go back there again read more
