As a business customer, I've been very disappointed with Nevada State Bank. The tellers are often rude, impatient, and act like you're bothering them when you need assistance. Customer service has consistently been lacking. Stay away from the sparks, nv branch. I eventually moved my business accounts to Heritage Bank, and the difference has been night and day. Well the people at this branch are very nice and helpful I can't see much for Zion or their Utah affiliates. Every time I try to make a payment on my second mortgage it's like pulling teeth. Gotten harder and harder to make a payment. I can't make a payment online they want you to mail them a check to Utah. And when you do you can't pay any extra principal any extra payment you make just goes to the next payment. This is an old bank scam they used to do way back in the day in order to bleed people drive every penny for interest. Here's how it basically works You borrow let's say $1,000 against your account. They send you a minimum payment of what say $110 the following month. They make you cut a check and let's say you cut one for $150. They just take the extra $40 and apply it to the next month's payment so it looks like instead of owing $110 next month you actually owe $70. And then if you write a check for $70 let's say thinking that it's the new payment when in reality you're just giving them money for free no interest for the next month. Also who in the hell in this day and age requires people to mail a check? Sure you can go into a branch and pay them but there's almost always a big delay because it has to go through NSB all the way to Zion national Bank. The next not illegal but kind of scammy thing they do is they hold a check. Last month I mailed the check out about 11 days beforehand. It doesn't take 11 days to get from my house to Utah. Lo and behold it was cashed on the day was due. This has happened a few months in a row. So I know it's not just the mail Zion will hold the check until the due date in order to suck up every penny. I for one I'm just going to be making my payments I no longer borrow against than NSB money. My hope is in a few years to build a pay it off and forget about them. Unless they change their ways and allow us to make payments online again and stop sucking for every penny. Or hard-working people and even if I can only pay an extra $10 on my payment it makes me feel good to know that I'm digging myself out but NSB and Zion would rather have you stay stuck in the mud read more

None more cherished in a GI or Veteran's life than those who lighten the burdens from our military Service. CONS Customer service was lacking. No magic of a smile offered me. No one welcomed me when I walked in so I just took my place in line at this Nevada State Bank branch. Teller wasn't wearing a name tag, and didn't greet me, smile nor identify himself. He was immediately just morose, terse, rude and inexplicably openly angry. Apparently my praise was premature. The prior fraudulent charge on my account? It takes NSB 10 WORKING DAYS to issue a previsional credit to the account. BofA credits the account within 24 hours. I've made 3 different calls on this charge, talked to 4 different people over the last 2 weeks, spent 40+ minutes on the phone today only to lied to and then told THE DISPUTE WAS NEVER FILED!!! Oh, they'll put a rush on it now. My bet is that I will never see my money again. I'm done. This is the most incompetent bank I've ever dealt with and as soon as I can change my direct deposit I'm closing this account. Don't waste your time here. I wish I hadn't. And to Sandi M.: No thanks. Been there, done that, and you've gotten progressively worse. You are the worst bank I've ever encountered and I'm not wasting any more time on your feedback links. This is for NV State banking general not this specific branch. I deposited a bankers check , which is the same as a cashiers check or money order and it's taking 10 days to clear!!!! This is ridiculous. I've been a customer for 8 years. Will be withdrawing money and opening at a nationally known bank. This was a large check , so now everything on draft will bounce , even though the money is in my account. They don't seem to know what a bank check is !!! read more

Possibly the worst bank I have ever had any dealings with. Made an appointment to open a business account and when I got there no appointment was set. I had a confirmation on my phone and was told Oh that can't be right. So they set another appointment for the next day. I got there a few minutes early and the branch manager Jennifer who the appointment with out to lunch, ( how true did I find out that was for real) After I waited another 35 minutes she finally got there and sent one of her people to fetch me like I was a dog, complete lack of respect. I thought let it be. When we got to her desk she told me she really doesn't open accounts. I started to talk to her about banking and found out she doesn't have a clue and is completely useless and very headstrong. She explained to me I was going about my business all wrong I listened for about 5 minutes and returned all my papers to their folder and walked out as everyone who goes there should...Terrible service, management, and bank. I talked to a few people about them after this and found I am not the only one who thinks this is a bad bank, the I found out the are on the federal watch list, so I would stay away. read more

Please be advised that Nv State Bank does not feel they need to follow real estate contracts regarding processing dates. They have had a VA loan pending on property I am selling (hopefully) for six weeks and still cannot give a closing date when the close of escrow, per the real estate contract, is to be 10/30/2014. They refuse to verbally communicate with either the selling or the buying agent and use many lies regarding the submission if documents to underwriting i.e. the underwriters were not available all of last week, I submitted the documents to underwriting ,on three different dates. These people are not qualified to write any loans let alone real estate read more

NEVER USE FOR A HOME LOAN. OR ANYTHING. EVER. I went in to secure financing for my home loan after-I kid you not--fifteen years as a loyal customer. I had a sever amount of trouble even FINDING a loan officer. They swore up and down that they'd sent my contact information to the loan officer and that he'd be in touch within the next 24 hours. Three weeks later, no dice. I had to look up this idiot online and repeatedly spam him with voicemails until he responded. And then I tried to buy a house. At first, they said that the financing was all good to go. No problems, I was a long-time customer, it would all go through with no issues. LESS THAN ONE WEEK BEFORE I SIGNED THEY PULLED OUT. And said that, whoops, sorry, company policy forbids us from loaning on a flip. Completely out of left field. I asked the loan officer several times if the bank loaned on flips and he said they did. He even told me what bank they sold theirs loans to when they did. But then word came down from On Corporate High that flipped houses were a No-Go. I very nearly lost the house to their incompetence and only my second lender's foresight kept me from being able to make the most significant purchase of my life. These people suck. They charge monthly fees for checking accounts and everything else. Stopped checks, statements, mailing fees, the works. The only reason I don't pay a fee for my savings account is because I started it before this nonsense began and they had to grandfather it in. They constantly replace employees for failing to sell you credit cards and other garbage you don't want nor need. They never have enough tellers to deal with the workload anymore. The branch manager is always "busy" so that you can't talk to him/her. They are obstructive as hell and have the most labyrinthine phone system outside of Comcast. It took me a month to get the online banking problems sorted out so that I COULD use online banking. Their IT system sucks. Their customer service sucks. Their loan system is so useless that words can never describe how horrible it is. Do not use these people. Find a credit union. These idiots don't care. read more
