Since I've taken on a new life as a runner lately, I've tried many shoes to get that right fit. I know that New Balance shoes were always good but going to this location made me a fan for life. The staff is always friendly and dedicated to finding the right shoe for you not just by looks but they take the time to watch your gait, look at the wear on your old shoes, and recommend a shoe that is meant for your type of walk/run. The prices can't be beat as I've scoured the internet for the same shoe and not even come close to the prices here. First, let me say I hate malls. I don't like crowds and inconsiderate people. However, I'm a fan of New Balance shoes, was not impressed at our local store, and avoid big box stores whenever possible. I work in retail, appreciate, and will pay a little more for excellent customer service. My boss expects it of me, why shouldn't I expect it when shopping? When we arrived, on a Sunday, the mall, not surprisingly, was packed. My expectations were low. Upon walking in the store, we were promptly greeted. I initially wanted to browse, and he let me. Two other very nice sales people also checked in with me. When I was ready, I discussed with the original sales guy my criteria: I had a concern with the durability of the fabric on previous NB shoes ripping, and I like a roomy toe box. (I will admit I wear NB running shoes to work in a bike shop because they're comfortable to stand in. Therefore, I don't necessarily blame NB) He listened to what I had to say, and pointed me to a few pairs he recommended. I recently visited the Gurnee Mills store. I had to return a pair of shoes I bought at another New Balance Factory outlet store, for some reason they hurt my foot. I had the receipt, wore the shoes once but no longer had the box they came in. After explaining to the Sunday female manager the problem, without hesitation she said she would give me a store credit. I then proceeded to pick out another pair with the help of another salesman. It was a pleasure dealing with both employees. They were friendly, knowledgeable about their shoes, and a pleasure to deal with. I will continue to buy my running shoes from New Balance. Chris with curly hair refused to return the shoes I bought there 2 days ago. Shoes were not damaged or dirty. I had the receipt. Do not shop here, go to another NB store, very rude and they yell at you in front of other customers. I explained to him that VISA requires him to take back merchandise brought into the store. He yelled and lectured saying that he doesn't have to follow their policy. Tell them that when you process my chargeback, which is in the mail. Also notified corporate about you. read more

My husband and myself had a great experience when we went on October 3rd and will be going back when we need new shoes. Well worth our time to drive there. The salesman Chris was wonderful helping us both. I was having trouble finding a pair of all black shoes in the women's section as they just weren't quite comfortable. He brought me a pair of men's in the same style off a clearance rack and told me they would be slightly wider and they are. Thanks to him I have very comfortable pair of shoes for work. If he hadn't been attentive and thinking I would have gone home without shoes. Thank you Christopher. The prices were fantastic as well. Two of the three pairs we bought were more than 50% less that we're paid in regular New Balance retail stores and the third pair was about 50% less. read more
