Split half a duck and a pound of crispy pork with my friend. Definitely enough and can feed 2-3 people. The duck itself was juicy and had a good amount of portion. The sauce is on point. The crispy pork was also juicy, and just enough crispy skin without being so hard to break teeth. Prices also aren't bad, I think it came out to $50 for what we ordered along with a large amount of rice and two diet cokes. This place is spot on. Service was great too. Located right next to Hmart, small space and not the most aesthetic place in the area, but the food and service is always amazing! This is always our to go spot to grab some classic chinese dishes. We always get their roast duck! Came in on July 4th and was a little busier than usual, however I was greeted fast by the friendly staff and got taken care of as soon as they can. Let me know that it was gonna be a while (we had placed an order of one whole roast duck and one chicken rice plate dish to go). I said no problem as I was gonna do groceries next door to HMart anyways along with the other customers as well. Came back and had to wait only a couple more minutes, I can tell they were pack but no problem at all as I was very happy to see some very fresh, crispy, and awesome looking ducks being brought out to hang so was super stoked right away. It reminded me a lot of those tiny roast meat shops and restaurant stalls you'd find in NYC's Chinatown. As someone who grew up eating a lot of Chinese BBQ in Las Vegas, I have to admit I was surprised by how much I enjoyed the meat here. Some of the most authentic cuisines are where you least expect it. Right next door to H-Mart in Aurora lies this tiny BBQ shop. You can get BBQ meat whole (yes, you'll see whole ducks hanging right when you walk in), by the pound, or as a rice plate. There's a couple of tables inside and outside for those who want to dine-in. Not the coziest but suffice. They take your order at the counter, chop up and fire up your food, then bring it to you. You help yourself to their fridge for a beverage and then once you're done with your meal, you ring up and close out at the counter. This place is a hidden gem right next to HMart. I actually think a lot of people know about New Canton BBQ, but it's been hidden to us, even though we're at HMart weekly. We came at around 1pm on a Saturday and they had a lot of stuff in stock. We ordered half a duck and a half pound of crispy pork. It was about $35 for it all, which isn't too bad. The Crispy Pork was perfectly crunchy with juicy bits of meat. The crunch was a but on the saltier side, but paired greatly with white rice. The duck was so succulent and juicy. I think it's the best roasted duck I've gotten from a place. Love this place and will be coming back! Also, it's a tiny place so it fills up fast. It's pretty awesome we have a location in Aurora that serves Hong Kong BBQ. It can be a hit or miss depending on the day and how busy they are. The only inconsistency I have experienced is the size of how big the pieces of the duck are cut in. Sometimes they're huge and other times they're pretty slim and great. The flavor is usually pretty great. If you go early and want to try something different, we always ask if they have pipa roast duck. The difference may be subtle if you're new but we like it better and they're one of the few locations that sells it. Otherwise, the other items on the menu are delicious like the char siu or the roast pork belly or the pig intestines. The owners and staff are pretty friendly. This is not a crispy duck, so if you're looking for crispy skin, I don't think you'll find that here. The BBQ pork ribs were just ok. The flavor was excellent. But some of the pieces were dry. I usually love coming here. Supporting small mom and pop shops but I was extremely disappointed last night when I came to get crispy pork. Half of what was left was burnt and the proceeded to cut the slab in half and give me all of the burnt portion. Not thinking anything of it, I figured it would still be good. I am definitely the kind of person who is addicted to roast duck rice noodle soup as it was my comfort food growing up. I am very happy to have found New Canton and have returned multiple times to order just that. I am a fan of their roast duck, which in my experience has always had flavorful skin and a good amount of meat on the bone. I haven't purchased just meat to go, but I'm sure I will sometime in the future. This is a reliable place to grab some bbq meat based dishes and they're super fast and efficient about getting your food to you. There's a small space inside to eat if that's what your feeling, and tables outside during the summer as well. I have been on the hunt for some authentic Chinese BBQ and I am happy to say I have found it. Their roasted pork was so flavorful and the skin was crunchy. It is around 16 dollars for a pound which is slight more expensive than what I am used to. To get a whole duck, it is around 31 dollars which is a hefty price but I guess I can give them a pass due to the rising food costs. This is definitely a to-go place. If you're on this side of town, this is the best Hong Kong style BBQ you can get! This little hole-in-a-wall restaurant only has maybe about 3 tables inside and 2 outside patio tables, but the food and the service is amazing. I've gotten the roast duck, roast pork and the BBQ pork to go before, and I've recently had their Stir-fry dry beef noodle in house. The noodles were tasty, not 'dry' and full of flavor. They also do a variation of different styles of steamed chicken, roast chicken.... you name it. If I'm on the west side of town I like to go to HK BBQ on South Federal, but if I'm on this side of town or just shopping at H Mart, I make a point to either eat here or get take out. The service is great and the food is great, and if you can over look the typical Chinese food hole in a wall on cleanliness (they are clean, just might not pay attention to the details on the floors. Hey, better than street cleanliness in some parts of Asia), this place is 5 stars in my book. My entire face lit up when I walked into New Canton BBQ. It brought back memories of my grandma's cooking, and I had to resist buying everything on the menu. Out of all the other shops on the same block as H Mart, this is the only one worth stopping by. From soups to rice plates to whole ducks, you can get anything to-go! It doesn't get more traditional Chinese than this restaurant, if you want some of the most authentic chinese food ever made then this is the place to go. I always ALWAYS come here when I feel the craving for crispy pork belly. First things first is that you can buy however much crispy pork that you desire. I always buy a single pound for myself, and if I come with my plus one (my beautiful girlfriend) i'll order either another half a pound of it or another dish on the menu. The crispy pork is exactly how you would imagine it, an amazing crispy crunch on the top, then a swirling flood of pork belly juice right after. The pork belly after the crispy skin is soft and so tender, the middle is fluffy and melts in your mouth while the bottom has this sort of seer of chinese barbecue that has a collapsing thick texture, absolutely tasty. The best thing about this is that every time I look down, I love to see that there is plenty of pork belly for me to indulge in. The Singapore stir fry noodle was very pleasant, it is tossed and stir fried in curry and has vegetables/bbq meat mixed into it. My favorite part about this menu item is the extremely soft and thin noodles that are used. They are like little soft hairs that crumble apart in your mouth. Extremely easy to eat and the texture is to die for. If you ever find yourself at the Asian market next door (H-Mart) go take yourself right next door to the right of the restaurant and get yourself some new canton bbq.
