Just went in for the first time today around lunch and it was a great experience. I walked in and was immediately greeted by one of the barbers speaking Cantonese "zin tao faat?" (which means "haircut?"). I replied yes, put my jacket on the clothing rack, and was seated by another barber (Kelly) right away. I showed Kelly a picture of the way I wanted my cut, and she put in a lot of great effort to make sure it was cut meticulously. I enjoyed the process and mostly just sat back and relaxed while she worked on my hair. At the end of the session, she made sure to ask if I would like the cut styled more (without any extra charge) using some gel or wax (I chose the gel). She also showed me the back of my head to see the new fade using a hand mirror, and it came out looking proper. The haircut was $20 (plus tips) and took around 30 mins. I've been coming to this salon for the past 5 years and I get my black Asian hair dyed blonde with highlights. This is the only place that knows how to get my black hair to blonde without damaging it. Most of the bad reviews for this salon is for the charming hair salon down the street because they don't even offer pedicures and I've never had a bad experience with them. If I can give it a zero, I would. They cut all my 12 year old daughters hair off because the women Winnie screwed up so badly. Then Winnie treated my daughter like it wasn't a big deal. It is up to her neck, and she wanted it below her shoulders. It looks horrible like a boys haircut. Then, while she was hysterical crying, they were laughing, saying it would grow back. 3 of us got haircuts, and not one was the way it was supposed to be. We all went to different people, and they all sucked. My hair is uneven. I will never go there again even if it is free. Stay far away unless you just need a blowout. I have been coming here for years, i recently moved , but Everytime I come in for a yearly visit ,this is the only spot I come to. The owner ,Sam gives an amazing blowout and cut . everybody else here is also very wonderful when it comes to coloring and styling . Decent job. But not for curly hair. I have short hair (shoulder length) but was charged 30 because of "texture" or length. And the girls will be shock and disappointed to see you have curly hair. Only went because someone told me they pay 20 here and they have extremely long hair(down to her behind) . But different texture than mine obviously. read more

They need to use Barbasol to clean their combs. This is a place for a quick cheap blowout. If you have longhair they have 5-6 brushes hanging from your head causing possible breakage from weight. I must have told the owner 4-5 times what I wanted and he still couldn't figure it out. My fault for going cheap . Never again read more

Fast, no appointments, great outcomes after services I have the worst wavy hair, keratin treatment is the best I ever had, the hair is so so soft I wash it and walk away. They do nails, pedicures and wax. Prices are reasonable. The place is usually packed. Yes, there is a language barrier, but in the end they know what they are doing and they do a fantastic job. read more

Came to get a full head of highlights yesterday my hair came out amazing!! My hair was so messed up from two previous times I did my own hair and went to another place for highlights smh and was like 5 colors. I came in and told them I wanted to go really light and that's exactly what I got and my hair is back to the way I love it blonde!!!! I've been coming here off and on for about 5 years and I will never go anywhere else again I just will have to travel from NJ. I had several haircuts by Ray. He did well with 2 or 3 of them -- then he proceeded to not take his earbuds out of his ears (during our LAST appointment) and just nod "yes-yes" at me when I described how I'd like my hair cut. Turns out, he didn't hear a single word I said, because he SHAVED my one side (right side to be exact.) before I even knew what was going on. I'm not talking "cut it short" -- no, when I say SHAVED, I mean SHAVED, with the buzzer on a number 1. I'm a terrifically low maintenance woman, I don't mind my hair even severely short ... but this was OUTRAGEOUS. It was Halloween when he did this, and today, February 11th of the next year, I only have maybe 3 inches growth that has returned. Do NOT trust a single solitary operator in that store. I picked Ray because he was the "best" that I observed, and that's STILL what I got. MINUS five stars if that's possible. read more

I've been here several times now and have been extremely happy. Each time I came for a wash and blowout and was happy with the job Kelly did. The wash and massage is amazing. I found the massage is obviously better when it's not as crowded, which it always is on weekends. No appointment necessary, just be prepared to wait while all the long haired girls get blown out. Lol. Yesterday I took my bfs mom to get a cut. She is elderly, a bit frail and hard of hearing. I had never taken her to this salon before. All the staff was so sweet to her, and Winnie did an excellent job of cleaning up her VERY grown out style. She felt beautiful and was so pleased. I'm talking about the one with ORANGE SIGN. I love it here. When they wash your hair it's the most relaxing thing ever, the scrub your hair and give you a massage. And the chairs they wash your hair in are really comfortable which is a big thing for me because usually in hair salons the washing chairs are so uncomfortable and it feels like my neck is going to break. I love the way they straighten hair they do it pin straight and for such a great and reasonable price. My personal favorite hair stylist is Sam he's really good at what he does, but the other hair stylists are just as good it's just my preference read more

I think a lot of these bad reviews are for the other salon, Charming, down the block. Many of them address nail issues and this salon only does hair. I have been going here for years and they are fabulous. They do a great deep shampoo massage on your hair and give you a spectacular blow out for very cheap. I want to say it is $18 for the wash and blow out. You really cant beat that. The people there are really nice and the salon is clean and newly updated. I recommend this place to all my friends and usually go in once a week to get my hair done. read more

For guys haircuts, price is good. I can't speak for woman's hair, wife has her own place. Try not to listen to the reviews about money. If you need to you can ask how much it will cost before you get your haircut. I doubt you would go to any hair salon without knowing how much they charge. They have set prices. I have been paying the same price for a long time and had no problems. Also they are a very friendly staff, granted they do talk a lot sometimes but this is not a top of the line hair salon, if that's what your looking for well you pay for what you get. Also the massage you get while they wash your hair is not always but usually great. Some girls do it a bit rough but again you have a voice. Ask them to do it softer. read more

I brought two of my friends here to get blow outs, because another friend said they were a quick cheap place. You get what you pay for. The hair-washing was pretty good... They massaged and took their time. However, only 1 out of the 3 of us liked our blowout. My one friend said hers was way too flat and felt like they fried her hair. The other liked hers, her normally curly hair nice and straight. I did not like mine. I have a bob and it is even pretty easy for me to blow it out. It was bumped up by my part, super flat until the bottom and then was extremely curled under. I had to re-do it when I got home. I won't be back again and will not recommend them. read more

New customers beware. They will over charge you because they can. I went in with my hair washed and straightened and was charged 25 bucks to literally trim less than an inch off. The guy at the counter made sure to ask if I was new (in what was barely English) before giving me a price. They were not friendly, they barely even acknowledged me. When I waited near the door for 10 minutes because of the heavy rain no one offered me something to cover my head as they did the other customers. I also realized the lady who paid after me got charged much less for more service. I'm sorry but good luck with your current customer base bc I doubt you'll be pulling anyone new in with this kind of service. read more

Never again. I was going to a specific stylist at this salon who was awesome, but she moved away, so I started going to another stylist. Man am I sorry I did. I had given her a few chances and this is the second time I am on the verge of tears with how bad my hair was cut. Way too short and as I see it, sliced up. I was very specific about the style I wanted and explained what I didn't want. She did everything I said not to do. I'm so upset. Just left feeling and looking amazing! We walked in and were seated immediately at the chair to start with a hair wash. It was a full 15-20 minute hair wash/massage on very comfy reclined chairs. From there, we were immediately seated with our stylists who did our blowouts in about 20-25 minutes. A great experience and we'll definitely be back. read more

The best salon to get a deep washing for your hair! I have tried many over the years but they get in the with nails and all. Multiple shampooing and conditioning and included is a scalp and neck message. There fast two blow dryers in one hand makes the process quick and the blow outs always last longer then if I did it myself. read more
