I ran a delivery route in Fernandina about 20 years ago and ate here about once a week. I remember it being pretty good and I was a fan of anything AYCE back then. During Covid they went to take out only and stayed that way until a couple of months ago. There was a big write up in the local news that they were finally opening to the public again and would resume the buffet. My buddy and I were on the island so I mentioned we should check it out. The food on the bar was all fresh, this was a little surprising as it was 2:30 in the afternoon. There were more people than I expected also, maybe 10 or 12 people. What I have begun to notice is that chinese buffets are not the big deal to me that they once were. I would rather have one dish that is really good as opposed to as much as I wanted that was just OK. They did have egg fu yung, not every buffet will take the chance to do this as it gets cold quickly. They limited how much was on the buffet and this kept it fresh. Pecan chicken was probably the best item. It looked like coconut shrimp but I saw it was not and tried it anyway. It was very good. Our drinks were not refilled regularly and we waited far to long for a bill, only to be told that they don't do that, just go to the counter and pay. They do have a full menu and the buffet is only open for lunch. This is a bit misleading and they might consider changing the name. read more

She knew almost everyone in the restaurant by name and their children. She came over to our table and asked us if we just moved there. It would be enjoy our meal. We have had "take out" from here for several years and I liked it; the last two times though I had to question the meat. My chicken was like soft, spongy strips of something?!? The veggies and the sauce were tasty but thick. My guess would be the meat was coated in cornstarch. I asked on the way out and he said yes, meat seasoned then coated in cornstarch before frying. This then makes the sauce thick and clumpy, the meat soft and spongy. They were closed for Covid and then opened for take out only. About a month ago they started a lunch buffet and though they advertised "eat in", you get your order as a take out and they bring you a plate and silverware...and I was ok with that but not the coated meat. This place is the closest I have come to a Chinese restaurant that I am use too. The food is decent and the menu has the normal stuff. Some things are slightly different from what i am use to but that's just me. For instance the wonton soup has no shredded pork or green onions. It's good but tastes slightly different. I thought their fried rice was pretty good. They make these fried dough balls that are sprinkled with sugar as a desert. Those are excellent. The shrimp egg roll literally gushed out grease, and it only had ONE shrimp in the SHRIMP EGGROLL..my bad, It wasn't called shrimps egg roll, so they got one shrimp in the egg roll. Wonton soup was luke warm which isn't on them its on door dash, guess they're driver couldn't keep the food warm with that cigarette hanging out his mouth, should have held it closer to the food. The Wontons were doughy and very little filling. I won't be ordering from them again. Might update since I bought a plate I could heat up tomorrow....not sure it's worth the electricity to heat it up. Update-wasted the electricity to heat up general tso's chicken. It's marked as spicy it was pure sweet sauce, no heat at all. Was grossed out by the whole meal, fried rice looked old, and after the 1 shrimp eggroll yesterday, I didn't even want to stomach the other eggroll I purchased. Meal dumped in the trash. Specifically, I had the fried rice, spicy chicken and mushrooms, green beans, generals chicken, sweet and sour chicken, crab rangoons and egg drop soup. This buffet is top notch! In their new location the quality of the food is met with clean and fresh decor. They have a sushi bar and teppanyaki (hibachi) station. At the Hibachi station you get to pick the fresh raw ingredients you'd like seared on the griddle and a choice of four different sauces. As a pescatarian this makes me very happy. There is a full salad bar, kids items like pizza and fried chicken, soups, fruit salad, desserts, and tons of main entree choices. The flavor, freshness and variety for very decent pricing means everyone will get their fill. That also means there might be a wait for a table, but they move the line along rather well, considering. We are new to the neighborhood and called in a take-out order to Jen who was super friendly, patient and accommodating! We ordered two Triple Hunan. The meals had three meats, Beef, Pork and Chicken which were delicious in the tangy sauce . The portion size was large with a nice assortment of freshly cooked crisp vegetables! My husband upgraded to plain fried rice for a small up charge from the included white rice and enjoyed it with the main course. I'm finally in Fernandina Beach and we decided to try China Buffet. I had some bad vibes coming in and asked to look around. It was almost empty for the lunch buffet. I noticed that the dishes did not look fresh. The protein dishes seemed to be all chicken with breading and sauces. I was not impressed with the variety. Thee were 4 flavors of scoop it yourself ice-cream -- all virtually empty, It was evident that business was very show and the dishes offered did not contain Asian vegetables. A gentleman answered on the first ring and took our large order.
