Haven't been here in quite a while. Had a great experience months ago when I went, however now was a different story. Although the restaurant was crowded, and the food was turned over quickly, the quality has definitely gone down. Families were letting their children run a muck there was ice cream all over the floor. I understand that's not the restaurant's fault per se however it did affect our experience. The food quality was not as good. The egg foo yong that I love so much was not a good quality at all Unfortunately. There were a few items that were good. I can't believe the restaurant was/is as busy as it is! Lots of odd flavors on things you know taste different. Weird combos of items available. Lots of kids running around. Not very clean looking. Food is alright, nothing out of the normal chinese restaurant cuisine. They have rice, chicken, chow mein, broccoli, egg rolls, crab rangoons, etc. They don't have a big selection, but it's decent & good when you're hungry. The ambiance is safe & comfortable with good lighting inside. read more

I have purposely avoided this place for years now because of the star rating so today I thought I would give them a try, not the buffet but a menu item. The buffet was large with so many items to choose from was my first thought and it didn't look bad at all. As I looked over the menu for take out I noticed that they have combination plates with pork fried rice and an egg roll so that's what I'm going to get. The beef with broccoli sounded good so that's what I ordered. The egg roll was the small kind like most places serve now of days and kind of tasty with a crunchy wrap. The pork fried rice was filled with a decent amount of pork compared to other combination plates around with carrots, onions and peas but not so flavorful so soy sauce was added and the veggies had some crunch left in them. The beef with broccoli once again was ok but not very flavorful with tender beef and veggies not cooked to mush. The tender beef had that texture that I like so much, not like eating a steak but more like something marinated that breaks down the meat fibers. Overall it was ok and it will not replace my favorite places and just about average. It was not totally bland but not very flavorful and I did like how the veggies were fresh and not cooked to mush which I totally like. If the veggies were over cooked to mush this would have been a two star review because I can deal with a little bland but I love my fresh veggies with some crunch left in them. All that being said I would definitely try one more visit at least with a different menu item like egg foo young or something just to see if I like something better. read more

We have never actually eaten here but live directly behind the restaurant. Just witnessing the kitchen staff and deliveries, we would not consider eating here. We see the way they dispose of food and the performance of their workers gives us such pause. The lack of professionalism present in their cheap labor (dropped off by a van) makes it impossible for us to consider eating there for health cocerns i.e. staff crawling into the dumpster, lack of proper sanitation which leads to flocks of birds feeding on their disposed scraps and perching on dumpsters (namely the seagulls which creates it's own problems). We also saw their delivery person drop boxes off the dolly and they fell to the ground. He picked them up and put them right back on the dolly and wheeled it into the kitchen. He also took a lid off one of the boxes and smelled it and took that to the kitchen as well. No thank you. read more

This was my first time eating at a buffet since COVID. Very impressed. Staff at pay counter surrounded by plexiglas. Masked employees. Single use styrofoam plates and bowls. Single use plastic utensils and disposable gloves at the buffet. Nothing is required to be used (and most people aren't using gloves, but I will). I'm so glad they have these options available. The food here is OK priced for what you get but if you are going here to eat, please make sure you are parked in a spot that is labeled for new China buffet. Customers do not park in the Arby's lot because you will get towed by Abyss towing and charged $340 to get your car back which makes for a very expensive lunch or dinner Apparently Arby's does not like people not eating in their restaurant and parking in their vacant lot so please please please make sure you park in a proper parking spot for this restaurant. read more

It was my first time here and I'd avoid this place if I were you...they recycle food We arrived maybe 15-20 minutes before the lunch/dinner change and we got charged the dinner price so bad start right off the bat. Their sushi/salad station is a joke, I've seen better quality in budget grocery stores. The same goes for their dessert options...horrible. Everything looked old, dried out, and their ice cream machine makes you wish it was broken like McDonalds. As for options themselves, nothing impressive. And for some reason there were seasoned boiled eggs as an option, which was random. Keep this detail in mind. Finally, the recycling...I was walking between the stations and thought to myself "I paid dinner prices and these are the options? Where is the specialty they usually put out?". Everyone knows dinner buffets are pricey because of a featured item/specialty. So, after a couple of trips, I was full and ready to calm a quits. Then I saw them bring out a big steaming tray of crawfish seafood boil with corn, sausage...the works. I thought to myself "ok, I'll see what's what, maybe grab a 3rd plate..." As I stood there waiting for the employee to situate the new dinner option...I watched in disgust and they took the pan of aforementioned eggs that was sitting there for who-knows-now-long and just dump it over the fresh seafood bake....not only was that disgusting but also baffling: who thinks boiled eggs go on a seafood boil. Well if Yelp can let me post " NO" star , this restaurant is one of them. Do not go to this restaurant. There are many reasons: 1) The restaurant is old and dirty. Don't go to their restroom, you sure will clean up your stomach. 2) For this price, you can have better food than here in Milwaukee. No sushi, no cook to order noodles. Limited choices and taste below average. 3) I feel like I eating in a zoo. A kid was playing with the soft serve ice cream machine and making scripture. This is my 2nd time here. My 1st time to this place was at least 4 years ago and it was so horrible that my friend and I didn't even finish the food on our plate and we decided to go somewhere else. New China is a bit of a puzzle. Generally very busy around lunch and dinner times, this is probably the only time I'd choose to go, because the food is very likely to be fresh. That said, even during these times, it can be a bit of hit-and-miss, but one of the nice things about a buffet is that you aren't locked in to one thing. Get several things, and if one of them is bad, leave it. However, if you go during slack times, you'll find it a lot harder to find fresh things on the buffet. The Chinese that they have varies a bit in quality, but generally on par with any average Chinese take-out. There are a selection of mediocre-quality American items, such as pizza and nachos, nice for kids but they are clearly provided by some foodservice vendor. While they (sometimes?) have things like crab legs, expect that another customer won't mind loading up his or her plate with all the ones they just brought out (can you say jerky and selfish?), so if you want that sort of thing, this may not be the place to go. Not a place to go if you're looking for really good food, but a fine place if you just want to get a quick meal of average food. read more

Today was my 3rd visit to this place, and I will never spend my money here again. The quality of the food isn't the best, but there are two items I really enjoy there so I decided to visit again while on lunch break. While eating my second serving, I immediately bit into something I knew wasn't food. I reached into my mouth and pulled a piece of what looks like tape out of my mouth. I called over the lady from the register who initially rang me up to inform her, and she barely acknowledged me or the situation. When I showed her what I found, she simply glanced at me, muttered "Sorry", and hurried to grab the piece of tape to discard of it so no one else would see it. Since I already had a full plate prior to this one, I had no intentions of receiving a refund but there was no attempt to remedy the situation or my dissatisfaction at all. Once I realized she clearly had no interest in this ordeal, I grabbed my things to leave and she walked off as if nothing ever happen. Her actions are a reflection of the whole business, which leaves me to assume that they simply do not care about a bad customer experience or subpar service. The food isn't even close to bein good enough to turn the cheek away from an experience like that. I will never visit this place again, nor would I recommend it to anyone. It was OK, not great but not bad. We enjoyed it and came back from time to time. We usually come for dinner or on Sunday. It costs a little more but the dishes are better. It is a bit pricy as far as Chinese buffet goes but it is still a good value. Kids under 3 eat free, 3 and above pays a discounted price depending on the age up to 10. After that, it is full price. We were selective and only picked what we couldn't easily get elsewhere or for this price. IE crawfish, shrimp, squid... it is also a good time to enjoy some of the guilty pleasures - crap meat ragoons, sesame balls, even fried chickens, or whatever it might be. Soda is included for whatever that is worth. There are other places you can get unlimited soda but not many where you can get both unlimited soda and ice cream. Again, guilty pleasure. Make your own root beer flow or some other combination of soda and ice cream. It is actually good. If you are reading reviews on a Chines buffet with this average score, you are probably adventurous. Try it sometimes. We generally had good experiences and found it clean maybe except for the restroom (try not to put yourself in a position that you need to use restroom in a buffet restaurant). It is not for everyone. But if you know what you like and have a strategy, it can be a relatively inexpensive way to get your fix for something that resembles Chines food once a while. read more

Disgusting! This place is for people who like to eat A LOT of low-quality food. We've lived in 3 states and this is the worst Chinese buffet I've been to. For a Saturday lunch, it was $42+ for two adults, one 5 yo, and one 2 yo. We threw entire plates of inedible food away. The place was absolutely filthy and decrepit. After a night of drunken antics, I woke up requiring hangover food. Needed greasy food with carbs, hopefully relatively cheap. Buffet is even better so I can eat a ton. I googled Chinese buffet and found this place. This food made mediocre look kind of good. The fried rice was basically just as flavorful as plain white rice. They had your standard egg rolla ans beef with broccoli and even that was like dog food. I have low expectations when hungover and wanting a buffet but this was pretty bad. After my 2nd plate I did not even want to torture myself by eating any more crap. I will say I guess it is cool they kind of have variety...i guess. Can get chinese food, fried wings, french fries, and drink horchata if you want to...the food is just not good, though, lol. I Love to eat here with my daughter and one of my best friends or sometimes even by myself the experience is always good the staff is always friendly and helpful and very polite I have never had any problems place is clean and Covid ready masks are required and they have disposal gloves and plates and cups available for every trip to the buffet line. It's a Chinese buffet! You will find some great food and some not so great but this is typical of any buffet! Atmosphere: there are tables and booths. You can come in a large or small group and their would be enough seating. Chinese decor in the booth room with Asian music playing. Service: you walk in, pay and sit yourself. They do a good job of refilling the food and taking your dirty plates. Food: the fried rice, lo mein noddles, egg foo yong, and pepper steak with broccoli are my favorites! By far the thing I like the most are the shrimp, crawfish and the mussels. They are really good! The egg rolls and chicken is also very good. They have other dishes which are hit or miss but you can always just leave it if you don't like it. I miss the days they had crab legs. They have a lot to choose from. They also have Pepsi and Coke products which is a huge plus! You have to try the rice water as it is excellent! They have many dessert items from ice cream to fruits to donuts to pastries and cookies. I always come here to eat crawfish, shrimp and Chinese food. Well worth the money as a dinner is like $12 with drinks. I recommend eating after 3pm as this is when the dinner items are brought out and a lot better then lunch. read more

This place is much bigger and busier than I expected. It's a Chinese buffet, so check your expectations at the door. I was surprised by the wide variety of food they had on offer, actually - I think there was pizza and chicken wings, etc. in addition to the expected American-Chinese fare. The prices were pretty painful, actually. I think that's the main reason we won't probably be back. Well, that plus we really don't need to be eating that much food. I felt like I had to eat and eat and eat and eat to get my money's worth, which is what buffets are for. I get it. I love them, in theory, but I need to not eat at one ever again unless it's free. The food was alright and it was reasonably clean. I just felt sort of unwelcome and like I was in the way the entire time I was there... Maybe another reason I didn't have a great time was the crowd. This rating is only three stars. But we also say "Chinese Buffet - Its as good as it gets." We just left another Chinese Buffet (on S. 76th street). We left all the plates on the table with food and drink and just walked out. It was Saturday night and we wanted edible food. We keep coming back here IF we need a buffet. Lots of choices and nice drink and desert choices. Yes, it's packed with kids and people and tables. Often the place is packed because of the choices and reasonable price. We enjoy the crispy green beans, endless shrimp - hot and cold, rice choices, egg foo young, a couple broccoli choices, and the rice milk, root beer floats, and desert options. I always see plates piled high with Crayfish, though not my choice. There is a fantastic THAI place just north up the street. But for kids and a budget buffet, this is where we eat. Definitely the grossest buffet of any kind I have ever seen/smelled. There was a lady going nuts on the boiled crawfish saying to the table next to her, "I don't know what these are called, but I call 'em the Poor Man's Lobsters!" Afraid of everything there but the horchata, I ventured over to the crawfish at the hot table. Picked up two, opened one up: black and shriveled. Figured "that's a one-off" and cracked open the second one. ALSO BLACK AND SKUNKED. My husband - who has been going here since he was a kid, managed to go for thirds, then dessert, and not even get food poisoning. I'm pretty sure some folks got arrested in the parking lot while we were eating. Likely for selling illegal black market seafood or something. Never going back. Plus the restroom is bad and the owner (I think) was walking around checking ours plates out. She did not smile or say hello. Pretty rule. Will not come back. read more
