God I love this place- my friends and I have eaten here a handful of times and each time we LOVE it! I've had their chicken pot gratin and beef empanadas and they're soooo good! If you're in the MKE area come here!

First time here by myself and since I was not too hungry only got a ceviche this time. The dish is fresh and citrusy. I would like to go back and try more food next time.

I've always ordered food delivery from here and thought it was time to visit. What a great decision. It's a great little place. The ambiance is handled nicely by the curtains between the tables and the fireplace on the television, trust me it works. My wife had the Tacu Tacu with grilled steak and I had Inka Paella. They were awesome dishes. I've had Paella in a few different countries and this ranks right up there with great flavors and portions. My wife's Tacu Tacu came with grilled steak. She loved every bite. Prices were very reasonable. I don't think will be ordering out anymore. This is a new spot for us to go to. Thanks for a great night and meal.

I had an amazing experience here! Every item we ordered was delicious and fulfilling. We ordered so much food and it was all delicious. Left feeling full, but not bloated. The sangria pitcher was a great deal. The place was very clean and welcoming. Every server was very friendly and accomodating.

The food is so good here! I will need to come back for more! I really liked the seafood/shellfish options! The pisco sour was very refreshing too!

Went to get lunch here on a Saturday at noon. When I walked into this quaint restaurant, it wasn't too busy, but that quickly changed. The server was really nice and told me to sit where I wanted to. Once my sister arrived, we ordered a half pitcher of sangria and some chicken fried rice and tilapia fried rice. It only took about 15-20 minutes to get the food. My sister was nervous about trying something new, but once she had a bite of her food, she immediately fell in love. My chicken was so juicy and moist. The rice was good as well. Just and FYI, the meat is not chopped up and mixed in with the rice, but rather laid on top in larger pieces. In total, this place was good and I would definitely return to try more of their menu options.

This is without a doubt one of the best gems Milwaukee has to offer when it comes to Latin American food. The Peruvian ceviche and Bistec a lo Pobre were phenomenal. The steak was cooked perfectly medium rare with a delicious egg on top. Service also was great, and our waiter was very attentive. Regarding the ambience, the building is a bit small but it gives it a very "home cooked meal" vibe that I think only adds to the charm of the overall experience. Would definitely come here again.

FOOD: Chef Paz is somewhere you go when you've got an appetite. The empanadas were delicious! Albeit they're a wee oily. I recommend eating these with a napkin. I ordered the salchipapas next. They were pretty decent. I wish the fries were crispier but the flavors were there. The entree was the best part. I love a good runny egg. The flavors married well together. On a personal note, the dish was slightly salty to me. SERVICE: Both the man and woman running the restaurant are so quick. They take plates and cups away quickly. They're very kind. 10/10 will be back here again.

Stopped on a Saturday afternoon with my daughter to get a quick bite. The restaurant is cozy and was quite busy for an afternoon. My daughter is a vegetarian, and we ordered appetizers to share. First time tasting Yuca and it was delicious. We enjoyed everything we tried and will be back again.

Here's a polished, vivid restaurant review you can use:…read more Dining at Antigua Latin Inspired Kitchen is more than just a meal--it's a rich cultural experience that transports you straight to the heart of Latin America. From the moment you walk in, the warm, vibrant atmosphere sets the tone, with inviting décor and subtle music that perfectly complements the cuisine. The menu is a thoughtfully curated celebration of Latin flavors, blending tradition with modern flair. Each dish is beautifully presented and layered with bold, authentic taste. Standout items include their perfectly seasoned meats, fresh seafood options, and house-made sauces that add depth and character to every bite. The balance of spices and textures shows a clear attention to detail and a deep respect for culinary heritage. The drinks are devine heavily inspired by Latin culture. My personal favorites are the blackberry sangria and the Mexican sangria. Service is equally impressive--attentive without being intrusive. The staff is knowledgeable, happy to guide you through the menu, and eager to recommend pairings that enhance the overall experience. What truly sets Antiqua apart is its ability to feel both elevated and welcoming. Whether you're there for a special occasion or a casual night out, the restaurant delivers consistently high quality in both food and hospitality. In a dining scene full of options, Antiqua Latin Cuisine stands out as a must-visit destination for anyone craving authentic Latin flavors with a refined twist.

The entrance takes you through a foyer that can be a bit confusing, but I understand it's meant to help keep out the cold and snow. Once inside, there's a bar area with tables, and beyond that is another dining space. There were four of us on a Saturday night. We had reservations for 7:00 and were seated right away at a high-top table tucked into a corner of the bar. Our server greeted us immediately and took great care of us the entire evening (thanks Julia). We started with waters and cocktails, three Margaritas and a Paloma for me. While waiting to order, we were served small pieces of bread with a cilantro garlic aioli spread, which was delicious. We ordered Guacamole to start, followed by our entrées: Gamba Al Ajillo, Encocao De Camarón, Enchiladas Yucatecas, and Cochinita Pibil for me. The Guacamole is very different than you might expect. The first time I tried it, I didn't care for it, probably because it wasn't what I was used to. This time, though, I found it wonderful, full of different textures and flavors like sun-dried tomatoes and pumpkin seeds. After a short wait, our entrées arrived. Everything was hot, flavorful, and served in good portions. I sampled all of the dishes, and the Encocao De Camarón (shrimp with coconut milk and vegetables) was my favorite. My Cochinita Pibil was good, but it was so lean that I thought it might have benefited from just a touch more richness. That is probably personal preference. There was too much food to finish, so we ended up with leftovers, which became nachos for next evening's dinner. I would definitely recommend this place. A wide variety of latin classics, some new Antigua recipes (i.e. the Guac), a relaxing atmosphere and excellent service. I am looking forward to our next visit.

The owner is one of the nicest people you will meet and you can see the sheer passion just oozing from him. He makes you feel like a guest in his own home and he is so obviously proud of the food he serves. That pride is well deserved -- this is some of the best Venezuelan food I've ever had, anywhere in the world. The pabéllon and the reina pepeada are especially worthy of mention, with the pabéllon in specific being one of the best things I've ever eaten. The yuca frita is delightful -- fried to perfection, with a delicious chimmichuri-esque drizzle. The kids arepa is hilarious and hilariously good -- a ham and cheese delight tuned for the very German influenced palate around here. My kids and I hope to sample every last item on the menu. My only worry is that this is not a style of food that generally gets a lot of attention in this town -- this place is always rather empty whenever I come. I would love to see lines out the door, because that's what this place deserves, and that's how good the food is here. The fate of many ethnic restaurants in this area seems to be to go under -- and oftentimes that's not commentary on the quality of the food. The palate of the general population in this area tends to be less adventurous, and that puts restaurants like this at a disadvantage. That is to say: please come experience this place. Please come eat here. Please help make sure that this place sticks around.

Date of visit: April 11, 2025…read more This was actually our third choice after the first two spots we hit up on Oakland Avenue were packed to the gills and it was a bit too chilly to sit outside just yet. I was concerned that the menu would be a bit of a challenge for my particularly palated husband, but he thought he could make something happen and did indeed succeed! We started with the Esquite, which was a bit pricy for the amount of food, but was very fresh and we didn't let any go to waste! I wouldn't have minded a handful more chips in the dish but again, we ate every kernel of that corn. As far entrees, I went with the Enchiladas Verdes de pollo. I really did want to try something Peruvian, but I was worried that the substitutions I would ask for would make the dish less than great, and I didn't want to risk it. I did ask for the enchiladas without onions and that did not detract from the meal and I even ate the beans! I realize that may be less than exciting news for you but trust me, it's a big deal. It was an excellent entree, though the Wisconsin gringo in me would definitely prefer a bit more cheese here. I made sure to make a little room for some fried sweet plantains and again, another winner! Service was also very good, it's just the cost for the amount of food that has me unable to bestow five stars, but this was a great meal and I would definitely consider coming back for one of their weekly specials.

Truly a must-go in Rockford for anyone wanting to break away from the reruns of meat and potatoes…read moreof typical Midwestern cuisine. Honestly, this spot seems out of place in Rockford and seems like something you would find in a bigger city. The decor is colorful and bright, the drink selection is very impressive and creative and the menu is broad yet impeccably put together. I've been here a few times and had some excellent meals, though I'd like to mention the recent restaurant week menu. I brought my fiancé and parents here for a weekend dinner and they were a little skeptical about the empty restaurant. For the weekend, there were a lot of people waking right past, but perhaps the sub-zero temperatures were keeping their eyes focused on getting to their cars only. We were greeted warmly by the server/hostess/bartender (she wore many hats that night!) and ushered to a tablescape that seemed almost too nice to be in the Forest City. We ordered drinks per our server's recommendations and were not disappointed. Full of tropical fruits, peruvian liquors, and a little kick (not all are spicy, just ones we chose)...they were a delight. All were served in fantastical glassware ranging from a mirrored martini glass, a stemmed glass with dangling chili peppers, and a gorilla head. Yep, you read that correctly. My drink was served in a painted gorilla head with star fruit on top. Absolutely delicious. We ordered an appetizer with mussels, ceviche, and a potato dish, as well as fried cassava. To my delight all the seafood tasted nearly as fresh as a coastal city where the fish is likely just out of the water. Everything was perfectly seasoned and not too chewy. The mains were another home run-- the guys got a VERY hearty pork stew and a beef and potato dish (so even those who still want meat and potatoes can feel at home here!) and the ladies a fish dish with a red sauce and a squid ink orzo with seafood. Nothing left us wanting more, but for me the orzo was a complete surprise. It was a gorgeous presentation with exquisite color and the flavor-- so light and yet so... there is no other word for it... buttery. EVERYONE at the table needed more than a bite. We rounded off dessert with a passion fruit mousse (honestly we were stuffed but felt we had to try something else as everything was so scrumptious) and rolled out of there talking about how shocking it was to have SUCH a high-quality and unique place in downtown Rockford. They got more tables as the night continued, but I'd have loved to see more. I would HATE for the people of Rockford not to have this experience. A few tips, the prices are higher than some of the other places in the area (as is the quality!), so be aware. Also they make everything fresh so plan for the evening to be a bit longer than elsewhere. But I cannot stress enough that no matter your tastes you will be very well cared for here, and have an experience you'll remember. And if you're not sure what to order, ask! The owners and servers are knowledgeable and friendly. They will steer you well! Tl;dr: This place is a foodie experience seemingly transported from a bigger city, and we are lucky to have it here in Rockford! Give them a try!
