I ordered sweet-and-sour chicken and a combination platter with dumplings, wonton soup, eggrolls, and oh boy, I did not receive any sweet-and-sour sauce, matter of fact, we did not receive any sources whatsoever. The egg rolls were overcooked. It was like they forgot them in the fryer and when I called and said I did not receive any sources she blew me off like I had two heads then said if I wanna come back, she'll give me the sauce. I have never received such a disgusting meal in my life! I ordered the vegetable fried rice. By the time I got home and opened the bag to feed my mother I found some snow peas and cabbage(?) floating in a flavorless white cornstarch sauce! I also ordered vegetable egg rolls, but to bite through all the dough, there was more white cabbage(?)! Now I was going to order from Wild Ginger but my husband talked me into this place. I usually get the same things when I order Chinese. I'm not vegetarian anymore but I get tofu/ broccoli (ask for spicy), hot and sour soup and spring rolls. New China was a nice find for us ! I looked up reviews since I live so close to the place now and most reviews I read were favorable so I figured I'd give it a shot . I grew up in New York and going to Chinatown in NY was a regular thing for me since I was a kid , as well as other great neighborhood restaurants , so when it comes to Chinese food It's pretty easy to tell if it's good, especially staples like Wonton Soup or an Egg Roll or Ribs or Roast Pork Fried Rice which by the way had good flavor and was more yellow in color then brown, but It has that smokey wok taste good fried rice should have. I enjoyed the Wonton Soup and actually favored the Vegetable Egg Roll to the Pork Egg Roll. The Shrimp with Lobster Sauce was very good with nice size Shrimp and the sauce was the right consistency. When I ordered the Roast Pork Egg Foo Young I requested they make the Egg Foo gravy a bit more flavorful after my last try and they did, so it was great. The Spare Ribs were out of this world, large and charred in the right places , but I think if you get the lunch special the Ribs are smaller so go with either a Small Or Large portion of the Ribs Bone in to get the big ones. Ask first to be sure. The real winner so far has been the House Special Lo Mein. It's got great flavor and filled with Chicken, Pork, Shrimp, and Veggies, and the Noodles were cooked to perfection. Lastly, but I could go since I'm a Chinese food fanatic is the Steamed Dumplings. The dough was thin, light not that thick heavy dough , and the taste was delicious. They reminded of Pork Gyoza actually , but I felt they were another winner on the menu. The only things I won't get again is the Chicken Chow Mein. It was a bit bland, and not a familiar type Chow Mein to me. Like I said I grew up in great Chinese restaurants so if you are a lover of Chinese food give this place a try. They are very accommodating, fairly priced, plain simple atmosphere, no ambience for dining other then a quick lunch or super no frills casual bite, but to take out and enjoy at home I think you will be good to go . By trying different dishes and process of elimination and preference you will find your favorites too. I've got other dishes I'll be trying and report back if I find something out of this world. We used to joke in my family that my mom probably put wonton broth in my baby bottle. It's been a lifelong staple, and they know me already because once you eat those Ribs, you too might get hooked! We ate dinner last night, take out, for six people. The food was excellent and well prepared. When you first walk into the restaurant,, It does not appear to be a place we would want to dine. However the food is consistently tasty, freshly made and fairly priced. The quantities are generous. Agree with another reviewer - food has gone downhill since they changed owners. Fills the dishes with cheaper root vegetables (celery, carrots, onions, etc) so there is less and less meat. Just not as tasty either, think they are cheapening their sauces. read more

I ordered twice from this place and NOTHING was good. Sesame chicken was not as good as other takeout. Crispy shrimp was horribly salty and I ended up throwing the whole dish into trash. There is no way you can eat it! Hot and sour soup had weird taste. After eating their food, both my husband and I had a feeling to vomit, there must be something wrong with the oil they used to fry food. As a Chinese I am humiliated by the quality of the food there. The chicken wings were tough aand had hairs on them, The spring rolls were soggy, overcooked and tasted stale. The steamed veggie dumplings were void of veggies inside and the dough was too chewy. The broccoli was so overcooked they were greyish green and limp and the General Tso's chicken was all breading and fat. The lo mein was not bad, but I ordered lobster lo mein. What I received was crawfish lo mein. If I 'm paying for a dish and the main ingredient is replaced with a cheaper option that's deceitful. I also requested a tub of duck sauce for the fried noodles. I was charged several dollars for it and received a tiny container the equivalent of 4 packets and NO noodles! The only redeeming quality portion size but who wants MORE of sub par quality food? It certainly fits the bill of no-frills, basic Chinese, but they do it so well! Food is always hot and fresh. Their boneless ribs are sweet, delicious, and I could eat them everyday.
