My family and I have been dining at New China, a family run and operated restaurant, for over 40 years. My hands-down favorite dish is the Almond Chicken. It's a chicken breast that's been pounded flat and coated in all sides in the most delicious almond crumb with golden, crispy texture. We prefer to eat the creamy, yummy sauce that accompanies it on the side in case we want to save some to take home for a yummy bite later on. I have never been able to find this particular dish anywhere in my travels and it's simply delightful. The service we receive at New China is very attentive, friendly and kind! It's surely a little gem of Spartanburg! I love that the murals, art and ceiling decor have never changed--it's simply beautiful! read more

I'm giving this a 5 star because the food was SO good! Tried the hot and sour soup and it was the best ever. My husband ate his entire order of house fried rice. We both had hot tea and it came piping hot and in a pot big enough to last for the entire meal. I had to bring half my dinner home (excellent lunch). And the lady at the restaurant told us they make the egg rolls by hand. I believe it, mine was delicious. We will be dining here again! read more
