Our home was built in 1982. The primary purpose of our project was to completely remodel the kitchen to create a brighter more functional space and update all the appliances. A makeover of the adjacent dining room was also planned. We have been through several small remodeling projects during 27 years in our home and neither of us relished the idea of trying to find suitable contractors or acting as project managers and on-site supervisors again. New Creations Custom Kitchen and Bath solved that problem for us. We were impressed before our very first meeting when Roy Faust called us to say he would be ten minutes late and "would that be alright?" New Creations is a high end custom remodeling company offering "turn key" kitchen and bath remodeling services. Their goal is to provide outstanding service and craftsmanship. They didn't over sell, they did what they promised. From the design process through tear down and construction, everyone involved with the project was professional and considerate of the fact they were working in our home. Since we live with twelve indoor only cats, that was of special importance to us. In fact, being "cat resistant" was a major design concern for our kitchen. Roy spent a lot of time learning about our lifestyle as part of his design process. Unlike some designers, he does not try to force his vision on you, but rather tries to pull your ideas out and help you make the decisions. He is not afraid to suggest bold ideas and if he doesn't like something, he will tell you. He makes the design process collaborative and fun and is not afraid to consult with another designer to make something perfect. A highly detailed approach to planning the project with the goal of having all materials on hand prior to starting is an important part of the company's success. Taking that approach minimizes the risk of delay and allows the customer to see the chosen products before they are installed. An on-site meeting with all contractors several weeks prior to the planned start date allowed us to meet each of them in person and gave them a chance to evaluate the workspace. That meeting revealed we would need to upgrade our electric service for the cooktop and convection oven we planned to install and allowed plenty of time to have the work done prior to the project start date. We were informed there would inevitably be problems along the way, but for us not to worry, they would solve the problems. Again, that is exactly what they did. New Creations constantly tries to improve their process. Project manager, Troy Hester, was continually on site seeking solutions to every problem and soliciting our input. The on line system used to schedule contractors and keep customers informed works well and Troy quickly responded to every email inquiry or phone call we made. We can't say enough about the craftsmen working for New Creations. Their focus was always on delivering a quality product and satisfying the customer. Compromises sometimes must be made because original house construction is rarely perfect. In fact, I'm not sure there is a square or plumb wall in our house! However, through it all, Roy, Troy and everyone involved in our project went out of their way to make sure we were happy with the results. Working with New Creations was a marvelous experience. This is my 2nd dealing with New Creations. 3 years ago Roy remodeled my kitchen. My only complaint back then was that Roy only did kitchen. Fast forward 3 years. My procrastination actually paid off. Roy now remodels bathrooms. Naturally, I called him first. My experience this time is just as positive as the last time, if not better. First Impression - I was totally sold on New Creations by the 2nd meeting when Roy brought everyone into my bathroom. My master bathroom is not small, but with me, Roy, carpenter, electrician, plumber, painter and the flooring guy, it was crowded. The trade pros were not just talking to me about what I want, they were also talking to each other about the job. The plumber was telling the carpenter where he need access panel for the tub. The carpenter then consulted with the flooring guy on how to build the access panel so that it can be tiled over seamlessly. All this happened before I even hired NC to do the job. It gave me a lot of assurance that the job will be done right by people who know what they are doing. Problems and Resolutions - Although NC offers design solution, I didn't not need it. I knew exactly what I want to achieve, but translating ideas in my head to detailed work instructions is not an easy task. That's where CAD drawings came in handy. I was able to review the drawings to clarify the design and correct the mistakes before work started. Still, there were unexpected problems when you open up an existing house for remodel, and mistakes were made due to miscommunication. However, the project manager was always responsive and corrected all the mistakes immediately. Unexpected problems were dealt swiftly with workarounds. In the end, I got 98% of what I wanted. The results are so good that I hardly remember the 2% that I didn't get. Responsiveness - I am a single-parent with a full-time job. Typically, I communicated with the project manager by email after I send the kiddo to bed. That was usually pretty late into the evening, and few times were even on weekends. Almost always I'd receive a reply immediately. I felt guilty that they were answering emails late in the evenings and on weekends to accommodate my schedule. I told them many times not to respond until next work day. Yet, they frequently ignored my request and responded immediately. I guess they really like what they are doing. The Result - Spectacular! I borrowed a lot of design ideas from DIY Network shows. Some of them are: glass counter top, a band of glass tile that serves as back splash and flows across the room; heated tile floor; a Texas Star medallion centered in front of vanity serving as a "tile mat", legs instead of toe-kick for the vanity, etc. They pulled off exactly what I had in mind. I don't think a lesser experienced team could have pulled this off. Why you should hire NC - I can tell you how great NC is and you can read all the reviews on line. But, do yourself the favor of actually talking to Roy about your remodeling job. Let his passion convince you why you should hire NC. You won't be disappointed. We selected New Creations to completely remodel our guest bathroom and they did a fantastic job. The project involved a complete demolition of the bathroom down to the studs and slab, replacement of sheetrock and ceiling, installing a new larger bathtub and shower, moving of the tub and toiler drains (involving jackhammering new holes in the slab, installing Travertine tile on the floor and in the tub and shower area, installing a new toilet, installing a Silestone countertop, new sink and sink hardware, installing a new can light and over the sink light, "un-popcorning" the ceiling, and painting. Throughout the process, New Creations kept us constantly updated on the schedule and progress with their online Bootcamp project system, they were extremely courteous and sensitive to all our needs and concerns, they kept the areas of the house adjacent to the work area immaculately, and they were fanatical about making sure that everything was done to perfection. The cost was reasonable and came in exactly as quoted. Finally, you simply won't find a nicer group of people to work with - Roy and Jeremy (the project manager) are two of the most genuinely decent people we have had the privilege to work with. read more

We recently remodeled our master bathroom with New Creations, with Roy and Troy, and could not be happier with the outcome. As nervous newcomers to remodeling, I found Roy's straight-forward-tell-it-how-it-is style very refreshing. I was also pleasantly surprised and relieved that Roy did not try to "sell" additional things/services, but rather functioned as a guide and shared his experience with us if he thought it would benefit us in making a decision. Roy was extremely patient with our questions and concerns. Troy managed the project with patience and grace, waited for inspectors, treated our home and our family with tremendous respect, listened carefully to any comments we had to make and took care of things in our home that weren't even part of our contract--he just offered to help! It is never easy to undertake a remodeling project. Instead of doing just our kitchen, we opted to remodel our entire downstairs which included our kitchen, dining room, living room, master bedroom and bathroom. We essentially packed up our belongings and moved upstairs for 4 months. But what an amazing investment it was. We are now the envy of all of our friends and neighbors. New Creations did a fantastic job with our remodel. They were quick to adjust to our last minute requests and slight design adjustments and the completed project/ workmanship was just fantastic. Our custom cabinets in the kitchen/bathroom in particular are absolutely gorgeous. We were pleased with the end result but also experienced excellent customer service from Roy and Troy throughout the project. I have had various remodeling projects done on my homes over th years and NewCreationsAustin is THE most professional group with whom I have worked. They refaced my kitchen cabinets and a bathroom cabinet - the workmanship is superb! New Creations completed a total kitchen and breakfast nook remodel in 2009. the experience, working Roy, Troy, the custom cabinet maker and painter, was a pleasure. We had design challenges to accommodate air chases, walls that weren't quite square, wanting to modernize but stay in keeping with our midcentury home, and on a modest budget.
