Check-in is easy and you're greeted with a smile, a sitcom on the waiting room TV and coffee (if you want it). As good as the initial experience is, the service inside is even better. They're competent and kind, something you would want for anyone (especially an elderly parent). Recently, Alicia patiently listened to me describe my mom's complaints and then took the time to look and re-look at the problem area. It was difficult finding a dentist in network BUzt I called here & got the best care From day one I was out of network went in to everyone so accommodating I was only getting a top piece next year I was doing the bottom implants So they are making $ still had to clean, bond and what not something is always found,. Got my quotes signed and waited 2 months after numerous texts and calls to them saying {I'm with someone can I call U back - no return call- thank goodness for a trail on your cell phone .., Got that call Monday - I even put off my visit home but it doesn't matter I'm ready even got the $ in full cash ... I have a hard time getting a ?? finally by text got my appointment .. Monica sends me what they submitted to my insurance ... Mind U They wrote on my quote OUT of Network patient consents to insurance ALL $ was to be sent to the dentist NEVER ME .... There quotes are now almost 3x the amount they gave me and they want that $ ... Nothing else can't get anyone on the phone ... I really cannot get over not ever a return call .. Numerous text call your insurance.., Like I said next year I was getting the bottom implant Sorry U gave me the cost I signed but shame on me .. and waiting Treat all your patienrs like Day One !! I would start by saying they have a very clean and modern office. I know some people come from hundreds of miles away, but it was less than a mile from my house. Furthermore, they offer a free exam and consultation that includes a Comprehensive Assessment. After checking in, one of their staff members will take you to their imaging area where you'll receive x-rays and 3D panoramic imaging. Dr Javier Valdez or Dr David Bonanno will conduct a thorough exam and explain their findings with all your treatment options. It's valued at $1,200.00! I don't believe any other oral surgeon offers this treatment. New Day Smile offers PROSTHETICS and IMPLANTS!!! Being that you need them both, and being that you want quality in both of them, you might as well do them here because they are great at both of them. New Day Smile also offers an insurance team that reaches out to your insurance company that makes sure that financing implants is affordable, including personal like Vivian and Stacy. I am seriously considering that I will get my implants at New Day Smile. I was finding it hard to find both an oral surgeon and dentist who both worked together and who both had good quality. Beautiful office most everyone very nice. Then you get to financial office. Yes folks careful of hippa violations. Stacey daughter of founder, is very pushy. Would not take medicare, said they were the lowest of low. Wanted to have get cosigner. Percededto pull up profile of my friends that referred me. There credit is excellent have them cosign for you. Had a raging bacteria infection at time of appt. Said I will think about it. Four days later called back to say antibiotics not working can I get another script. Front desk made me appt for Monday, it was Friday. 2 hours later I receive a call from financial manager she heard the call to the desk that I was still I pain. Told me antibiotics are not going to help, unless I went thru with the full procedure. She then asked if I got cosigner from my friends. She said she was canceling my appt because antibiotics were not going to help me. I needed 4 teeth pulled and a bone graph. It is illegal to show someone else's portfolio and fiance report. Pushy and irresponsible . Found another dentist were willing to work with me. Will take my Medicare. Oh btw did not need a bone graph!! read more

This review is about the dental side of the house. So I didn't get to se Dr. Valades, to do my crown work. The younger dentist was the one. Like I said before more practice in placing shots. The jabs were rough, and the shot sights are still sore. The Dental tech that worked the chair side, Brillant. If she isn't a Dentist already send her to school. The temp crown was not just install to last, it perfect fit for the 3 weeks it was in my mouth! Props to her. When I arrived back three weeks later I have to change my appointment because if testing I had to do as UCSD. So 1530 rolls around, I arrive at 1515, and taken in by some one I never had before. She just seemed nervous. I chair up, and she explains she take the temp off. Well 25 mins later the temp crown seal was broken, but still stuck on. 20 mins later a senior tech comes in to rescue the dental student. It took her 10 mins of work. She had an annoyed chair side attitude. It's afternoon time we will give her that. I ask where the Orginal tech was she did a perfect job. That really got under her skin! Oh well to bad up your skills craft game to be in the 1% because that day both of them didn't touch .5% the temp crown was off, and my live post nerves vibing the tech dentist arrives to save the day, and install the new crown. As of 10/23 1523 her perfect work is shining thru. Give that Dental Tech a raise & send her to dental school. With this hiccups this is still the best practice in San Diego County! read more

If you're currently receiving dental care from New Day Smile, I strongly recommend considering a thorough audit of your account with them. My experience with them has raised several red flags, and I want to warn others about their potential financial mishandling. Back in 2019, they collected money from me and my insurance company. It turns out I overpaid by $2,200, and they never informed me of this financial oversight on their end. It wasn't until I inquired about dental implants in October 2023--which they initially quoted at $40,000--that I learned I had a credit on my account. I've since contacted their finance department multiple times by phone and email to resolve the issue. Their finance manager responded to me on July 16, 2024, claiming she hadn't received any of my previous emails, which is hard to believe, as I always ensure my emails are correct using the good old-fashioned method of copy and paste. Here's the email from the Finance Manager, dated 07/16/2024 at 8:14 AM: "Who are you sending emails to? This is the first one I have gotten. I will check your account as soon as I get in and take care of it. I apologize that your requests were not taken care of. I assume no one received the emails. We wouldn't just ignore something like this." Fast forward to October 7, 2024, and I still haven't received my refund. Despite their claims that they wouldn't "ignore something like this," they clearly are. Additionally, when I used part of the credit for further treatment, I was treated poorly by Dr. Valadez. It was clear he was not happy about me using that credit unless I was prepared to spend $40,000 for implants, which was later reduced to a $20,000 quote. During my last visit, after he performed a tooth extraction, his behavior was unsettling. He seemed visibly upset that I was using the credit and became verbally aggressive when I asked questions about potential dental implants since I have a lot of bone loss. Instead of addressing my concerns, he aggressively grabbed the X-rays, pointed at my jaw on the X-ray, and repeatedly said in a demanding tone, "WHAT'S THAT? WHAT'S THAT RIGHT THERE?" His tone was condescending, and the entire experience was unsettling. Given the way I've been treated, I have serious concerns about their ethical practices. There's no way I'm trusting them with $20,000 to $40,000 of my money, let alone undergoing anesthesia in their care. It's a shame they lost thousands of dollars all because they won't cut a $1,749 check. If they've mishandled my account this way, who knows what else they're capable of? Be cautious if you're dealing with this office, and ask for an audit of your account. read more

This group is a 10+ for sure. Where do I being. This group is amazing. They did full mouth denture hybrid implants on my husband, myself and a friend and I will recommend them to anyone who needs the best dental group in San Diego. They will be our dental group for life. I just had my surgery today and I feel so much better then when I went in to the office. They removed 14 teeth with severe decay and infection that has caused me so much pain for a long time. I lived on Tylenol 3 times a day for two years. I went to another dental group for those two years with failure after failure. So bad they had to give me a refund. Dr Valadez did all three surgeries. He is an amazing human being who loves what he does and I am thankful for him. His bed side manor is kind, caring, humble and he is committed to our dental health. They also do general dentistry. Extractions, bone graft, 4 implants, a partial and a bridge I began my treatment with Dr. Edgar Rivera at New Day Smile in Fall of 2021, after years of bad care of my teeth, sometimes because of financial limitations but a lot of the time because of bad professional advice. After meeting with Dr. Rivera for a consultation, he suggested that I could keep most of my natural teeth. That was my wish from the beginning. I was looking for a new dentist after a horrific experience at Hillcrest Dental Centre and a friend recommended Dr. Valadez. I had an excellent experience from the exam to the procedure. Dr Valadez recommended a few options from cavity fillings to root canals to new crowns. If you've ever had a cavity underneath a crown you know they can't detect if the tooth needs a simple cavity filling to being salvaged until they remove the crown and take a further look. Luckily I just needed a root canal and new crown. I suffer from dental anxiety & the entire staff went above and beyond what's expected of them. They even put me in my own room for the procedure so I would feel comfortable. Most recently I had my annual exam, tooth cleaning and X-rays. I go back next week to get another tooth worked on and I am not nervous at all because I know I'll be in good hands. read more

After X-rays and a 10 minute consultation I was told to get further help from another specialist. I opted to have the tooth pulled - too much bone loss and gum disease to save it. Not once was I offered a prescription for an antibiotic or something for pain. Just go back into the world with a toothache and deal with it on my own. I am not pleased with the service and little to no help. And I had to make another appointment to have the tooth pulled - a molar - at the rate of over $600 to pull it. read more

Are the results to their labor work as double-standard, as the double-standards ARE TO THE RESULTS of (a) calling them before the Posted Business Hours have actually ended. I called past 4:30pm, but before 4:46pm, but only get an answering machine that claim of "CLOSED" within its stating. In why I verified the business hours online. Before I called, I got 3 documented phone calls from them; the first 2 were hang-ups as the last of the 3 was an actual message they then chose to leave. In why not wanting to say anything on the first 2, RATHER just THROWING DOWN THE PHONE. On the message left, the sound was barely hearable w/o latering the sound from answering machine -- which I found no value to labor of. Via lack of sound tone quality, it was only Fluctuating. I received multiple estimates and consultations regarding my messed up teeth and was overwhelmed by the procedures involved and the expense. New Day Smile and Dr. Valadez gave me additional options that were cost effective and I didn't feel the pressure to get implants, unlike the other dentists. Although implants would be ideal, I would need a bone graft and sinus lift because I'm missing bone in the area where the implants would go, and it's not covered under any of my insurances and super expensive. Cynthia in Billing & Treatment, broke down my out-of-pocket costs quickly and got approval from my dental insurance quickly. The last dentist I saw about this was in August 2018 and I am still waiting for coverage feedback from my insurance company because the other dentist hasn't submitted additional information the insurance company needed. So far, the office experience with New Day Smile has been stellar, the wait time was less than 5 minutes for my appointments, I'm already on the road to getting my smile fixed in the next 5 days. So far I've only had the free consultation, so they haven't done the work on my teeth yet, but I imagine everything will go just as well as the others who have reviewed his work. If something doesnt go right with my bridges, I will be sure to update my review. Wish me luck! UPDATE: Its been about a month since my first visit and now my smile is complete and I'm so happy! Instead of implants, I got 2 bridges and a partial denture where I'm missing teeth. Initially I wanted super bright white caps on the bridges since they would be across the front of my mouth, I thought it would look great. Dr. Valadez suggested I stick with a more natural shade and Im so glad I did. Can you imagine me at 65 years old, with bright white "chicklets" for teeth across the front top of my mouth, but my natural teeth along the sides and bottom are naturally darker (which happens as you age)..... I'd have to constantly whiten my real teeth so they match my bridge, or else my smile would look ridiculous. Forget that and no thank you! Everything about the process was great. They are friendly, professional, timely, and their billing was straight forward and Cynthia helped me figure my out of pocket costs per calendar year, so I'd know what to plan for. This is the worst place I have gone to for my dentures! Beware, their offer for a panoramic X-ray, CT scan and evaluation is a scam to get you in their office. I drove from Oceanside to La Mesa specifically for Mini Dental Implants on my upper dentures as my previous Dentist in oceanside after 2 phone conversations with them about the Mini Dental Implants to make sure they understood what I was looking for (I already have them on my lower dentures) Cheryl & Stacey both assured me they did them all the time, "sometimes 5 a day". When I got there there were rows of dental chairs (like a check out stand at the grocery-NO PRIVACY) I was seen by a very young dental assistant they did the scan & x-ray and then I was told I wasn't a candidate by another Intern Dentist (who looked like an assistant) and when I showed her my implants on the bottom she said: "Oh, we don't do those"... they only do the large four permanent implants) I explained what I needed and she was oblivious. I ask for a copy of my x-ray & scan and after arguing they agreed to send it to me via email (x-ray only for $25) with an action plan and I was going to go back and see one of the Dentists advertised on their website after 10 days and 5 phone calls before the scheduled appointment, I called again and informed Cheryl that unless I had an action plan and x-ray I wasn't driving out there again, she assured me I would have it before the appointment. I still have not received anything from them, Cheryl lied to me when I called them again before my appointment and said we we going to discuss it when I came for my appointment, I didn't drive 2-1/2 hours again to be seen by an intern and a dental assistant and/or receptionist that lied to me.
