I would like to formalize my extreme displeasure at the service (or lack of service to be more accurate) regarding my family's New England Pizza at Veranda order placed online through Slice last Monday 12/23/2024. Part of that order was supposed to include a quantity of four/4 of the Chicken Fingers coated in Buffalo Sauce (costing $40.40 plus tax), but when the order arrived, the Chicken Fingers were plain, not coated at all, and only included one very small cup the size of my thumb with some buffalo sauce on the side, not anywhere near enough to coat even one/1 order of Chicken Tenders, nevermind the four/4 that we ordered. When I called New England Pizza to request that they provide the Chicken Fingers coated in Buffalo Sauce as requested, a very rude older-sounding man with an accent answered the phone, who deflected all responsibility to Slice, saying that's how they received the order from Slice, claiming I should call New England Pizza directly to place my order in the future (to bypass Slice). I noted the order was placed on their website (www.newenglandpizzaoxford.com), which makes no reference to Slice (except for a very small reference at the bottom-left of the webpage saying "Empowered by Slice"), that's it's their website for which they should be responsible, regardless of who they have generate/manage the website! That being said, the man I'd been speaking with refused to provide the Chicken Fingers as ordered (only offering me free sauce if I were to drive down there to get it, which I couldn't, and not how delivering an order properly should work), also refused to provide a credit/refund for the items they failed to provide as ordered, and then hung up on me, extremely unprofessional to say the least. I immediately reached out to Slice, and spoke with a representative by the name of Bob, telling him what happened when I called New England Pizza (with them deflecting responsibility to Slice), now asking Slice for a credit/refund for the $40.40 plus tax spent on that part of the order associated with the Chicken Fingers that were not provided as requested from New England Pizza. Bob said he couldn't do anything about what had happened, or provide any credit/refund, but would forward the information to a supervisor to call me back about this, which still hasn't happened to this day. Despite having spent hundreds of dollars with New England Pizza in the past, based on the unprofessional service provided by them, and the failure of Slice to contact me to properly resolve this situation, I feel the need to make this complaint, and note that our family will likely never do business with New England Pizza or Slice ever again. I would leave zero/0 stars if that was an option. read more

Wow. Unreal. We've been ordering for years and have had no problems. Tonight we ordered delivery. They texted us to say that it was 30 minutes away (after an hour of our original call). We called them and a woman told us that it had left 10 minutes ago. The food FINALLY arrived after OVER an HOUR. Cold. Wrong order. We called and a woman put us on hold after our complaint. After 5 minutes, a man came on and asked what the problem was. We told him. He asked what he could do for us. We asked that we be reimbursed. He agreed. However, he told us that we had to give back the food. Funnily, the driver showed up within 15 minutes to collect the cold, wrong ordered food. Will NOT be ordering again from them. Got the spicy buffalo chicken pizza and it is my new favorite!! Kids enjoyed the cheese too...if you haven't tried this place you are missing out!!! They were pretty busy when I was there but all of the workers were friendly, in great moods and all smiling. I think this will be our new go to pizza place in town! read more

Ordered The Godfather sub in a wrap online. When I arrive one of the owners starts to tell me that if I had phoned in the order, she would have suggested a large sub roll instead of a wrap. "This is going to be messy in a wrap", she said. I replied "I don't mind." She continues grilling the meats. "You better eat this soon, it is going to be messy!" She starts to load the meats and cheese onto the wrap and mumbles "messy." I paid and left and enjoyed my messy sub. However, I will never go back. I didn't go there to get a lecture on how I should order my food. Painful. read more

I love this place. When you walk in for the first time, you're not sure if it's Veranda or New England Pizza ... but once you try the food it doesn't matter. The food is the freshest I've eaten in town. Oxford has a pizza place almost around every corner, so the competition is high. The owners of New England Pizza take their ingredients seriously. They work harder than most to bring excellent quality meals to their customers. Talking to them, you can hear the passion they have for good food. The pizzas, subs, salads (HUGE), apps, all amazing. Their lattes are to die for. Don't let the signs 'tables only for dining customers' put you off. These folks are the real deal- kind, humorous and truly know how to create the most tasty food. read more

I've been going here for years, the food has always been great. The pizza is still great, hot on time and good. This is the 2nd time I've ordered a grinder recently and have been greatly disappointed. The large Arnold Special has a Nicky toasted roll, plenty of fresh lettuce and tomato and not much else. There was a couple slices of bacon that were translucent, one slice of turkey and a tiny piece of roast beef. No cheese, basically a lettuce and mayo sandwich. The Italian grinder I ordered two weeks ago was the same. Greatly disappointed! read more

This place has definitely gone down hill. Just ordered a pizza. Took over an hour to get to my house two miles away. Pizza guy smelled like weed so bad I think I got a contact high. He also couldn't do math to save his soul. The pizza is great but everything else sucks. I will not be going back. It's too bad. They really used to be awesome. read more

Considering this place has decided to create a new Yelp page to combat their negative reviews (their old page maintains a 2 star rating, and frankly, they're lucky to have even that. Now, I was a pretty big fan of this place. My family and I ordered from there quite a bit. But, here is my experience from August, which includes a conversation with an excessively rude manager who has zero concept of customer service!: I ordered a custom pizza, and when I opened the box, two of the toppings were missing. ***Note: I ordered the pizza through their online ordering service.*** We also ordered a tossed salad with tuna, and the tuna was definitely not included in the order anywhere although we were charged for it. We called New England and alerted whoever answered the phone that our pizza was missing two of the toppings and the salad didn't have any tuna whatsoever. They proceeded to argue that they didn't know about the tuna (although the price of a regular, plain tossed salad is $5.50 and a tossed salad w/ tuna is $7.00 and we were charged the $7.00), and that the cook confirmed that the toppings were on the pizza. Nope. Nope, they definitely weren't. Onions are something you can typically smell and taste, and there was absolutely no onions on that pizza. There was no sign of any mushrooms either. We tried asking for a simple refund for the missing items (and only the missing items!), and she proceeded to argue with us about the whole order and wouldn't let us get a word in edgewise. She said there was nothing she could do about the salad (is it really so hard to send a new salad, or at least give us a discount?) saying "how were we supposed to know it was supposed to have tuna?" Well, we paid the price for the tuna salad. So, clearly, that salad was supposed to come with tuna. She then said she was going to send us a new pizza (really, I didn't want the new pizza, just a refund for the toppings I didn't get...) and continued to insist there was nothing she could do about the salad. Honestly? What the hell. I've defended this place several times. I love the convenience of online ordering, and the food has been pretty good. But there's a huge chance that this place has lost my business, all because of this lady's attitude. Time to find a new pizza place. I would also like to note that the delivery people have been GREAT. Always super polite. read more
