This place is my families' favorite takeout! Very Greek friendly and they always ask how my dad is doing plus they insist I speak the language even though I only know a few sayings. Cross crusader is my fav sandwich by taste alone in all of Worcester (me and my bro's opinion.) Only gripe is its a tad expensive compared to subway but can't complain considering the higher quality. Also line out the door can be annoying but kinda validates that the place is good. On a final note be prepared to gain a few after a visit. Good place. Nice staff. Always consistent. Good portions. However...It shouldn't be called New England Roast Beef. It's not a true roast beef place. The roast beef is dry and not sliced to order and it's cold in the middle. Authentic roast beef places serve freshly roasted warm roast beef sliced to order. They have the slicer with heat lamps but every time I go there it's not in use. It makes no sense! If you grew up on the North Shore like me, you'd know what a true roast beef sandwich was. This is not the place to come for Roast beef. They should change the name to New England Sandwiches or something. This isn't a one off visit either. I've ordered junior beef and super beefs here many times and it's always cold and dry in the middle. They have the ability but don't serve it right. We love this place-- while known for their roast beef, I think they, hands down, have the BEST steak and cheese sub I've ever had in my life. While they are a bit pricey for sandwiches-- you get what you pay for. If you haven't tried this place-- make sure you stop by! We stopped here after a college tour up the street, we were starving and almost kept driving because the parking lot was so full. But I thought about it for a minute, if the parking lot was that busy on a weekday there's a reason. Roast beef, brisket, steak and cheese, fries all of it was outstanding. All four of us got different things and everyone loved their food! The portions are huge, fresh and delicious. The lady who took our order at the register was very friendly and she works her tail off. She was taking orders, phone calls, delivering food and cleaning tables. I had the "super" roast beef on an onion roll with lettuce, tomato, and the recommended combination of BBQ sauce and horseradish sauce. OMG, it was a lot of food but the beef was deeply flavorful - umami bomb! - and the sauces nicely complimented the beef. Several people had the paninis and they all raved about their choices. I just picked up my take out order from New England Roast Beef - Chicken Fingers and Fries. The person who answered the phone asked my what size 3, 7 or 12 pieces so I placed my order for 7 piece. I actually thought I was given the wrong order when I went to sign my credit card - 17.99 for this order. I can go out to dinner at Mare and Monte for about the same price. The French fries were not included in the price. I still can't believe I just paid 17.99 for chicken in a basket. These better be the best chicken fingers in the country. Never going back there again...save your money and go to a real restaurant for the same price read more
