The younger, dark-haired female cashier has GOT TO GO. She's been nothing but rude to me and intentionally ignores me. She will assist every single customer that walks in after me before finally assisting me. And whenever I'd ask her about my order, she would tell me she's "too busy". Well, b****, you haven't been too busy to help everyone else that came in after me. I had always been polite to all of the cashiers, so her attitude is extremely unwarranted. SHE'S GOT TO GO. Picked up sandwiches here yesterday for a lunch meeting at the request of one of the attendees. They were absolutely gigantic--everyone saved half for later--and everyone loved what they got. I had an eggplant parm panini and, as everyone who likes eggplant parm knows, it can be hit or miss, but this was definitely a hit. The parking proved to be tricky with a tiny lot that's kind of awkward to maneuver. My only other complaint is that aside from salads, there's very little for those who don't eat meat on this menu. I think there were only two vegetarian sandwich options and there are so many choices that could have been offered--totally a missed opportunity. read more

Ordered takeout from here for a hospital luncheon. I ordered the Chandler and almost everyone else ordered lobster rolls. The lady up front was so cool. She has blonde, reddish blonde hair maybe wears a cross on a necklace and she was so nice she even came back and asked what I thought of my food. She recommended the roast beef with the bbq and horseradish! She deserves a raise. The food was excellent. Even the onion rings were better than normal and I don't know how to make an onion ring better. The sandwich is huge I am a pretty big eater and couldn't finish it! Very pricey but I know why. They don't skimp on the meat. The roast beef is perfectly medium rare and I can only eat half of the sub, so I get 2 meals out of it. I get the cross crusader every time and can't try anything else because it's sooo good. My husband usually gets the same thing but has tried several things and loved them all. I was quite disappointed with my selection. I ordered the super beef on an onion roll combo, with horseradish sauce and BBQ sauce on the side. The onion rings and beer battered fries were extremely salty, and that was about the best thing they had going for them, both obviously frozen products. The beef was not well seasoned I needed to add salt and pepper, it was supposed to have a horseradish sauce on, but it was very dry. The BBQ sauce was a very odd, tasted like ketchup with a little heat to it. My co diners both got subs, that they said were "ok", but not worth the $42 for three sandwiches with sides and drinks. the fiance & I consider ourselves to be roast beef connoisseur's. we live by some of the best roast beef on the north shore (Harrisons, Simards, Rt.110.. anyone?!) but NERB gives every place we've known and loved a run for their money. We stopped in on a Saturday afternoon and got two juniors, a small fry and a PB cookie (figured we had to try it after seeing the previous yelp reviews!).. we were not disappointed. The roast beef was warm and fresh and it was on an amazingly fresh bulkie roll which we loved. The fries were a little under seasoned but still good. The cookie... ahhh-mazing. there are no other words. There are maybe a dozen tables to sit at and some really cool sports memorabilia to admire while you wait. So why 4-stars? well, they aren't open Sundays.. and I dislike when businesses do that. Sundays are huge eat-out days!! NERB, open Sundays and season your fries a bit more and no doubt I'd give you 5 stars. We'll be back!! p.s. I've read on here that people think "Kellys" is better than NERB? yikes! Best sandwiches!! NERB has a huge menu, making decisions very difficult. I always go for the Grecian sandwich: juicy marinated chicken, onions, huge chunks of feta, tomatoes, (tastes like homemade) Greek dressing on fresh French bread. This is one of the best sandwiches I've ever had and I keep going back for the same thing. (As a result, I haven't tried most of the items on their menu.) I've had their french fries--they came out piping hot and crispy--and their salads with, again, that juicy marinated chicken on top. In all the times I've eaten at NERB, I have never had a bad meal... Bread is always fresh, chicken has never been dry, etc. They have a great drink selection and awesome-looking sides and desserts. This appears to be a family restaurant and you see the same friendly faces every time you walk in. Great place for a quick, filling, amazing-tasting meal at a fair price. read more

I love this place! Yeah it's a bit pricey but you totally get what you pay for. All their chicken sandwiches are awesome, their soups are great, and their Fish & Chips are amazing. A++ Parking can be tough but as long as you don't block their big gate Toomey's doesn't complain. Pro-parking-tip: If you're just picking up Toomey's will let you park inside their gate if they're not busy! This place is a hit or miss because the 2nd time I went it was awful in quality and the employee and the cook were even worse. They made a sandwich and it was missing a condiment that was supposed to be on it . They took the sandwich back and completely smothered it with the condiment to the point it wasnt edible . I had to give New England Roast Beef 5 stars because to be honest I've never had a bad experience there. It's a little hard to rate this place because to be honest I get the same thing almost every time I go. The pastrami from this place is out of this world. I don't know what they do to it, but whatever it is they do it right. Some of the juiciest, most flavorful pastrami you will ever have. I usually get it with some grilled onions and on an onion roll because the onion goes really well with the pastrami in my opinion, but there are a ton of other options for toppings to choose from. I have gotten exactly three other things in about the 20 times I have been to NERB. First was the roast beef. I mean you would expect a place that has roast beef in the name to have good roast beef, and it lives up to the expectations, I'm just more of a pastrami guy myself. The steak and cheeses are solid as well, really tasty, and even though I always go for the pastrami I know people that eat the steak and cheese on the regular. Finally the meatball sub. Not exactly the traditional meatball sub, with more fixings than I'm used to, but it was surprisingly really good. One last thing, if you do decide to get the pastrami go with the super pastrami, which i believe is the largest size. I have been to NERB a lot of times now. I'm a big guy. I cannot eat a sandwich in one sitting! It is breakfast, lunch, and dinner. My favorite is The Russell. Roast beef and swiss on (wonderfully soft) french bread with horse radish sauce. But, I have never had a bad meal there. I tried their buffalo wings for the first time today. They generally come breaded, but they accommodated my request to keep the breading off. Admittedly, I got the mild (I really don't like how some places substitute heat for flavor) and they still had a good punch to them. The sauce had good flavor as well. My only complaint is that I think the wings are a bit pricey, but I find that to be true of almost every where. read more
