Needed a quick lunch and this got good reviews. I expected a standard Chinese takeout place, which it is, but then I saw a Thai section on the menu, so had to try that. A pretty typical pad Thai. I got chicken, and there was plenty of that, plus lots of egg, veggies, etc. Not much sauce, or rather, not a very visible sauce, but plenty of flavor. Noodles were good. Large portion. Not the best in the city, but a very solid version. I also got crab Rangoon- not much crab, but made to order and a nice balance of crunchy and creamy. Again, decent portion. Food quality has taken a steep dive over the years and I feel bad for leaving this review since I have been ordering from them for the last 10 years. I've probably ordered for the last time though. The hunan chicken was good, but the fried rice was awful. It had no taste, no onions or other veggies, no egg, nothing. It just tasted like white rice with a splash of low sodium soy sauce. I had to mix it in with my hunan chicken to make it edible. I also ordered an egg roll which was dry and overcooked. The food was so bad I can't even add an extra star for their fast service as I'm thinking however they are preparing the food is allowing them to throw the order together much quicker. read more

The only reason I used this place was it was near the hotel we were staying at and it had the best rating of most. This food was barely edible. I ordered chicken fried rice for my son and the special house lo mein for myself. The chicken fried rice was dry and bland and did not taste like any fried rice we've ever had. All of the meat was suspect. All of it tasted old and past it's date. The chicken was the weirdest looking stuff I've ever seen. I almost forgot the chicken rice soup. It had the same suspect meat and was not good. Had I saw where the place was located I'm sure that alone would have stopped me from ordering. It's in a run down strip mall that was all very shady looking. The kind of place where I'm sure many drug deals have gone down. I should've driven back with the half eaten food and demanded my money back, but didn't want to waste my time or gas to do so. Instead I flushed it down the hotel toilet which is where it belonged! We thought the place was pretty good, but the painful part is all Chinese restaurants seems to use the same photo on their menu and you don't know what their food looks like. Plus, it's like many others as I said, same photo, but not the whole menu. You can't view the whole menu unless you pretend to order from z menu. Example, you have to order online for delivery, then it brings up the full menu. Hoping they fix that for people going to eat there so they know what all they have. Worth checking out. New Fortune China is yet another Chinese takeout. I think it's almost the same as any Chinese restaurant in Columbus in many ways. They do have a few really good items. It has the authentic menu you have to ask for. The best stuff is on this. I like my Chinese food super fucking spicy. It takes care of that here. The items on the menu are mostly familiar. If you would like something more different you can ask for the authentic menu. There's all kinds of shit you wouldn't find in other Chinese restaurants. It has tripe, which we have seen some people actually order. The inside has no ambience so you should carry out. I would pick up something from New Fortune China. It's okay for the location. I ordered the pepper steak with no green pepper and light onion with white rice and steamed dumplings. I switched rice with my husband because he don't like fried rice and though the lemon chicken would come with white rice. The pepper steak was good, didn't get light onion but it's not a big deal. I like that they didn't put peas in the fried rice because it's tough to dig through when you don't like them. However I wasn't a fan of the fried rice taste. It had a sweetness to it, even after putting soy sauce to it. The steamed dumplings I didn't like because the outer dumpling part was way too thick so it took over the taste. Might try something different next time but I was kind of disappointed. Hope whatever I get next time is better. read more

If you are looking for a restaurant with ambience, this place is not for you. It is fairly basic, but clean. The restaurant has lots of typical American Chinese fare, which is indistinguishable from any other dive in Columbus. However, if you're looking for authentic schezwan food, there are many fine choices here. It is always a good sign when there are lots of Chinese patrons eating here in the afternoon. You need to ask the owner for the authentic Chinese menu though. I've tried a variety of dishes and liked almost everything here with the exception of their spicy intestines. The tripe is good, the spicy fish dishes are very good, as are the chicken dishes. Anytime I have a yen for schezwan food, this is one of my favorite restaurants to go to. If you're okay with the lack of ambience, and like spicy food, I highly recommend this place. read more

Ate there 2 days in a row and could have easily done another. My regular is always General Tso's where ever i go so I stayed true to the norm and ordered the dinner portion of that here with fried rice and egg roll. I was VERY pleased. Great taste, nothing I would change. Next time i will ask for extra spicy tho. Service was...well lets just say they got my order right and had it done quickly. If your looking for a good Chinese carry out in the Lincoln Village area, this is it. Ordering was super easy. When I got there the place was busy with several waiting to pick up. It's small and clean. Not much room for dining in, but there is the option. We ordered the Sesame Chicken, Sweet and Sour Chicken and Orange Chicken (not spicy). All with fried rice and egg rolls. The chicken in all the meals was super fresh and not am at chewy or hard. The kids loved being able to dip in there own sweet and sour sauce cups which I assume was for the eggs rolls, but worked out in our favor. The egg rolls where good and not at all greasy. The only thing we didn't like was the fried rice. It was pretty bland. All in all we give this meal 4/5 stars. read more

We have a new Chinese place! We tried this place for the first time yesterday after reading yelp reviews and seeing higher ratings than most in our area. We were delighted with the quality of the food! Yes the place is mostly counter carry out service but the taste made up for it. I ordered the fried wontons and orange chicken. I'm so used to having the wontons filled with something reminiscent of a pencil eraser but these were homemade with crispy skins but actually had a tasty and tender meat filling! The orange chicken was moist not dry and had enough sauce! The sauce was tangy with just the right amount of heat. My husband ordered the egg rolls and house lo me in with extra shrimp. The egg rolls were crispy and tasty. His noodles again had the right amount of tasty sauce, were not dry and had a decent portion of protein. The greatest thing was that NOTHING WAS FORGOTTEN ON THE ORDER! So many times we'll find something missing when we've gone to other places. Thanks for a great dinner and we'll be back! read more

This little Gem is hidden in a run of the mill strip mall in Lincoln Village off of West Broad. It is small and could use an update both inside and outside. What does not need any tinkering is the food. I can honestly say, I've eaten Fortune China countless times, and it is the best Chinese on the West Side. The Chicken Cashew is great and you cannot beat the price (dinner or lunch). They probably have the best Egg Rolls. It is always the same two working (I believe they are husband and wife) and the wife is quiet, but friendly. Nothing takes longer than 10 minutes. Even if it did, the wait would be worth it. I highly recommend Fortune China (and believe me, I have done so to family and friends) if you're on the Westside. read more

We've been ordering take out from this place for years, and we love it! The food is delicious and cheaply priced, and the servings are rather large (we always have leftovers for the next day). They have a lot of dishes to choose from, but I usually order Wor Su Gai because I personally don't like sweet and sour food (it's essentially deep-fried breaded chicken breasts on a bed of lettuce, served with rice and a really good yellow sauce on the side). My husband loves their Szechuan dishes (he alternates between beef, pork, or chicken). Also, their vegetable egg rolls are to die for! Every time we've ordered, the food was ready within 15 minutes. This is a small mom and pop Chinese Restaurant that I have been going to for the last 6 years. I love coming here for a quick lunch carry-out on Sundays. I would not say this place is great, but I do love it for the value. The Lunch menu is cheap and you are given plenty of food for the price. The food is also made fresh as the owner is in there cooking as I walk in. The food is always hot and tasty without the use of too much salt. I like most of the food on the menu especially the crab ragoon and Egg Foo Yung dishes. I know some people who are not bug fans of this place but it has a special place in my heart. I have enjoyed seeing the boy's English improve over the years and the same consistent food. The price is hard to beat. I always get two meals out of whatever I order which is great for work lunches the next day. I would not suggest eating in because it is in an outdated space in an old strip mall. This place was my jam when I used to live on the west side. I don't mean to brag, but I've had everything on the menu. I moved across town a while ago, but went back recently when passing by, and found it still just as good, though they are now two doors down in the same strip mall. It's pretty much the standard fried Chinese food like you can get anywhere, but better. The standouts are the Mongolian beef, chicken pad thai, and egg foo yung. This has been our local neighborhood standby for years. Not especially fancy and the dining in area is almost nonexistent, but quick, cheap, and decent fare. Some of their dishes I'm more a fan off than others. Their wonton soup is great- you get a giant container with the big size and it comes with deep fried noodle strips to sprinkle on top that add a nice crunch.
