We purchased a brand-new 2025 Alliance Paradigm 385FL from Kunes RV. We are seasonal campers and full-time RVers during the summer months, so having a properly functioning refrigerator is not a luxury--it is an absolute necessity. Unfortunately, I have been without a working refrigerator since the beginning of summer. Imagine spending an entire summer without a refrigerator. We have also had our grandchildren staying with us for approximately a month. Because we have no working refrigerator, we have not been able to keep basic necessities such as milk, eggs, and other perishable foods on hand. This has significantly impacted our camping experience and our ability to enjoy the summer with our family. I repeatedly brought this issue to Sara, the RV Tech Service Supervisor at Kunes. Rather than receiving empathy or understanding, I was met with sarcasm. At one point, she asked me if this was the first RV I had ever owned. I told her it was. Her response was, "Well, that explains a lot." I asked her what she meant by that. She then responded, "Our customers are happy to wait." Really? Are customers supposed to be happy waiting ALL SUMMER without a working refrigerator? I was stunned by the comment and had no response from her when I challenged it. After months of waiting and repeatedly trying to get this issue resolved, the day finally came when a technician was sent out to repair the refrigerator. The technician replaced the motherboard and evaporator fan. I was excited, thinking that after all this time, I would finally have a working refrigerator. Unfortunately, the technician left, and the following day I checked the refrigerator temperature. Nothing had changed. The refrigerator was still not working. I immediately contacted Kunes to report the problem. Instead of getting a technician back out to address the failed repair, I was informed that I had an outstanding balance of more than $1,000 and that the balance had to be paid before they would send a technician back out. This is especially frustrating because I purchased an expensive extended warranty through Kunes specifically to give me some peace of mind when something like this happened. The warranty company took weeks to approve the repair. What makes the situation even more frustrating is that Kunes failed to clearly explain beforehand that certain trip charges, miscellaneous charges, and other costs would not be covered by the warranty. Those charges were never properly explained or disclosed to me before the work was performed. I will pay the outstanding balance. That is not the issue. The issue is the way Kunes has chosen to handle a customer who purchased a brand-new RV from them, purchased an expensive extended warranty through them, and has now been without a functioning refrigerator for months. At this point, it feels as though getting the money comes before taking care of the customer. That is extremely disappointing. Kunes RV had an opportunity to demonstrate that they stand behind the products they sell and genuinely care about their customers. Instead, I have experienced delays, poor communication, a lack of empathy, unexpected charges, and comments from a service supervisor that I find completely unacceptable. A brand-new RV should not leave a customer without a refrigerator for an entire summer. And when a repair fails, the priority should be getting the customer back up and running--not holding the repair hostage over a balance that the customer is willing to pay. Shame on you, Kunes RV. I sincerely hope anyone considering purchasing an RV from Kunes reads this and understands what my experience has been. Based on my experience, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere if customer service and support after the sale are important to you. Selling an RV is only part of the business. Taking care of the customer after the sale is what separates a good dealership from a great one. Unfortunately, Kunes has not demonstrated that to me.
