Awful!!! Bought the camper when it was still Quiet Woods and paid for the leveling service and full set up for our permeant site . Was under the understanding that when they left, everything would be working and functional. We had to pay extra for the sewer hook ups. The trailer was 5-6" out of level and the washer leaked. 2 weeks later the hot water heater doesn't work and they are charging me $400 more for fixing that. Service is horrible. You can't ever seem to get ahold of anyone. And now that they bought out Quiet Woods they just use the disclaimer that they are trying to just make things right with the customers from the "old store" but have no obligations to them. I wouldn't buy a camper or RV from here ever again. And I certainly will never use their service centers again. I guess there's no grace period after you buy the camper. I would not recommend purchasing a camper from Kunes RV of Elkhorn. We bought our travel trailer at the RV & Camper Show in February. As first-time camper owners, we attended the show open to the idea of purchasing, though not necessarily intending to do so. When we came across the trailer we ultimately bought, we fell in love with it. Initially, the purchasing experience was very positive. We were treated well, and several essential items were included in the deal. The only negative during the purchase process was our interaction with the finance representative, Chadwell, who was extremely pushy and condescending during the discussion of extended warranties. When we declined all warranty options, he told us, "you're making a huge mistake." Bullying is not an effective or appropriate way to build trust with customers. Unfortunately, things deteriorated significantly after the sale. We were told the camper could be ready within a week, but after leaving the show, communication was extremely poor. We received no communication from the dealership for nearly six weeks. Emails went unanswered due to being provided with an incorrect email address, and the person who sent the initial welcome email was not actually a salesperson. When I eventually called to explain the situation, I was told someone would call me back the same day, but it took two additional weeks to hear from anyone. When we finally scheduled our three-hour orientation, we were already en route to the dealership when, just 40 minutes before our appointment, we received a call from Eric, the General Manager, informing us that our camper "wasn't ready." This was two months after our purchase, despite being told at the show that it could be ready within a week. Understandably, we were very upset. Eric promised to "make it up to us" by including additional items and assured us the camper would be "standing tall and pristine" when we arrived--an expectation I had from the beginning, regardless of the delays. He also said he would personally meet us at our orientation, but he never showed. The orientation itself, along with our interactions with the technician, the warranty representative, and Jeremy, were all very pleasant. Eric did follow through on including additional items to compensate for our experience; however, no amount of free items can make up for poor communication and lack of follow-through. I would have preferred significantly better customer service over any extras. I wish our experience were an exception, but we personally know several others who have also purchased campers from Kunes and had similarly poor experiences. Should have read reviews before we purchased from this place. Worst experience we've had and have owned multiple campers over the years. Was told an inspection of the unit was completed...which we had to pay for, and that certain items were repaired. I've owned this camper less than 24 hours and found items they listed were fixed, were in fact not fixed. When contacting Kunes to tell them of our concerns was told essentially we bought a used unit and it was our problem...even after purchasing an extended warranty. Horrible experience. read more

The Epitome of the Care-Less RV Dealer I made an appointment to see a 2024 Winnebago Travato 59K with 8,500 miles, $99,950. After the walkthrough, I settled into the driver's seat for a test drive -- and immediately noticed the check engine light was on. I pointed it out to the salesman, who brushed it off: "I'll check our multi-point inspection sheet when we get back." After the drive, I pressed him to pull the codes. Five failure codes. His response? "Probably just a sensor -- easy fix, and it's still under warranty. Let's make a deal." I kept looking. Opening storage cubbies, I found mouse droppings, a sink drain clogged with dead flies in a soapy film, and a nest of balled-up fabric. The vehicle was being sold on consignment, which tells me everything. The dealer had no skin in the game and apparently no intention of inspecting or cleaning it -- just deflect, defer, and hope for a quick sale. Extremely Disappointing Experience - Buyer Beware! We've been avid campers for over 30 years, and this was not our first camper purchase--so we came into this process well-informed and excited to upgrade. Unfortunately, our experience with Kunes was nothing short of disappointing. We initially spent two hours on a Monday evening browsing their inventory and scheduled to return Tuesday night to view more options. On Tuesday, we sat down with a salesman, negotiated what we thought was a final number (with our trade-in valued at $24,000--which aligns with JD Power's $20,000-$25,000 estimate), and left believing we'd return Thursday to finalize everything. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Edited at 1:40 PM on 8/20/2025: We received a call from Kunes requesting that we remove our review. During the conversation, they pointed out a crack in the front fiberglass -- which is accurate. However, between that and the flooring, total repair costs still amounted to $12,000. I also rechecked the JD Power estimate for our camper (attached), which values it at $35,200. Frankly, this offer feels unreasonable and disrespectful. We expected a fair negotiation, not to be lowballed. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Thursday arrived and we were genuinely excited. The staff welcomed us warmly, we completed a full walk-through of our new camper, and learned how to operate everything. However, just before signing the final paperwork, the manager approached us with "an issue" regarding our trade-in: a 4"x4" soft spot on the floor. We were told this would require a full floor replacement at a whopping $12,000--due to possible water intrusion from screws or caulking. My husband immediately said the deal was off. Then, in the very next breath, the manager asked, "Well, would $8,000 work for you?" Just like that, $4,000 came off the "repair estimate" in 30 seconds. That raised serious red flags--how inflated was that repair cost to begin with? Meanwhile, we returned to the showroom only to be congratulated by the staff on our "purchase" while we informed them there was no sale happening. If I could give zero stars, I absolutely would. Kunes RV doesn't even deserve one. My husband and I bought a brand new 2025 camper from them, and it has been a complete nightmare from day one. For spending over $36,000, you'd think we'd be treated with at least a little respect -- but clearly, once they get your money, you no longer matter. 1. Total incompetence right from the start: When they de-winterized our camper, they never even emptied the tanks. We showed up to our first campsite with a completely full black tank -- disgusting and unacceptable for a "professional" RV dealership. 2. Management that clearly doesn't care: I called immediately and was told a manager would call me back. Days went by -- nothing. I kept calling, and every time I got the same excuse: "The manager isn't available." Not once did anyone bother to return a single call. 3. Garbage workmanship and zero urgency: On our next trip, when dumping the tanks, water sprayed inside the camper because of a cheap plastic clamp that broke. I called again and was told they couldn't even look at it for weeks. I dropped it off on August 2nd and was promised updates -- which of course never came. Three weeks passed, total silence. I called repeatedly, and every time I got a new excuse or no answer at all. One employee even called me, left no message, and later said he "couldn't remember" why he called. Seriously? That's the level of professionalism they operate at. 4. Two and a half months of pure frustration: After endless phone calls and being ignored, we finally went in person in October, only to be told the camper was "done." No one ever called, no updates, nothing. Meanwhile, our $36,000 "brand new" camper sat in their parking lot for 2 1/2 months -- and because of their incompetence, I had to cancel seven camping trips. 5. Broken promises, again and again: They said they'd winterize it and call when finished -- surprise, they never did. Every time I tried to reach a manager, I was told I'd get a call back that never came. Even the regional manager was supposedly going to call me -- guess what? Never did. Every call I made after that went straight to voicemail. 6. Even upper management is useless: I finally spoke with one of the higher managers -- I believe his name was Ryan -- and he was absolutely no help. I told him everything that had happened and that at this point, I just wanted them to buy the camper back so I would never have to deal with them again. His response? "Unfortunately, I can't unwind your purchase, period." I asked him what would happen next summer if something else went wrong -- would it just sit in their lot for months again? He said he could "promise me" that it wouldn't. I told him he can't promise that, because not a single person I've dealt with there before is still employed, and who's to say he'll even be there next year to "have my back"? He couldn't answer that either. This dealership is an absolute joke from top to bottom. Their communication is nonexistent, their staff is careless, and their management is completely unprofessional. They'll smile and tell you what you want to hear just to get you out the door, then completely ignore you the second you drive away. I wouldn't recommend Kunes RV to my worst enemy. I bought a camper and kunes, when picking up the 5th wheel camper , I needed to have pins put in adapter plate to hold the 5th wheel to the plate. when I picked up the camper I asked the salesman Eddie to have service dept to put these 4 pins in , Eddie said they can do that and showed up a min. later with a young lady and introduced her as their 5th wheel expert, so all three of use when out to the truck and I showed her and Eddie where we needed to install the pins and she took the truck to service dept . Myself and Eddie went to another building to see the rv that I have purchased , we inspected the 5th wheel camper , the 5th wheel expert shows up with my brand new truck and said to me all looks good and left. Pat another sales person and Eddie are showing me the camper and then we hook up the camper to the truck and that went well . I left the dealership with camper on way home I heard what I think is a lot noise when I stop, so I got out of truck and looked at hitch and all appeared ok, so I got on highway and traveled 70 miles an hour home , I slowed down getting nervous due to the sounds of the camper hooked to the truck , when I exited the highway I heard a big bang ,I checked it again I thought at this time something is wrong so a slowly pulled into gas station by the exit. I inspected the hitch in the truck and realized the pins were never put in holding hitch to adapter plate in the bed of my new truck I also realized the the 5th wheel hitch had raised up and slammed down into the truck bed causing dents in my new trucks bed. Now the bed being damaged is bad enough but it's a miracle no one got hurt or killed, it should happened just a miracle. The only thing keep the 9000 pound camper from coming out of my truck was 4 small one inch tabs and those had been bouncing out of the tab hold on way home due to the fact no pins were installed and I was never told that the pins were not put in by the 5th wheel expert. I disconnected the hitch from truck and fixed the problem. I returned to Kunes rv in slinger and showed them what their shop had done, since then the general manager has refused to give me the insurance information for kunes rv in slinger Wisconsin, unbelievable no concern for their deadly actions or should we say lack of actions . never do any biz with any place with Kunes name on it. read more

Went here to look at a camper and let me tell you. Salesman didn't know anything accurately about RVs and was giving us BS at every issues I found at the RV that were looking at as well as there info page was misleading and hid all the issues. There "inspection" noted that all the issues I found where addressed and fix(not the case) So we passed on it and the next 2 RVs we looked at they just pointed out where they were in the lot and said go look at them. We were interested in one with cash in hand, but were told a different couple was going to make and offer so they were going to wait on ours. I don't play the sales games and walked away. Hello, I have purchased a used 2021 Winnebago in May 2024 and I purchased a full coverage warranty from Kunes with a salesman saying he would give us a free meal at a local restaurant that his family owned, but never follow through(Minor issue). Then My friend bought a brand new camper and they said I would get a $150 gift certificate, which never came because he would not have bought it with out me going there to buy my fifth wheel. I have to say at least I could take my camper out and about until they had the parts, but there is very little commutation on when the parts would be in or when I could schedule the camper to be fixed. No follow ups or emails/texts/calls/ to this day I called yesterday with NO RESPONSE! The website should have more structure emails to be able to talk to people over the people that are failing the customers. The real issue is the warranty plan that Kunes sold me and when I had a bearing cap with the zert fitting on it slid out of the wheel from improper installation or whatever, inside the bearing housing area cover (chrome outside cover). They told me the outside cap of the bearing housing(being Plastic) caused the metal on metal bearing cap to be wedged out from in-between the metal on metal bearing cap with the zert fitting on it to make it roll around in the bearing housing area cover (chrome outside cover). Tell me how this possible, it makes no sense, until I started talking with the Service advisor and they did not like the hour wage the Warranty company gave Kunes to replace this and made a false statement so I would have to pay for it. Then since I bought my camper they never fixed my utility door on the driver side of the RV, until this year at a different Kunes location. Then all my exhaust vents went out at the same time and they want to cover all but 1, which is a joke. In saying this I have had issues with the convertor not always working good and blowing fuses, which is a pain in the rear end to get to every time I need to replace, and this tells me there is a DC/AC issue. The end to this story is I want me camper to be fixed per my warranty plan and learn how to write an explanation to the warranty company to minus the customers frustration and if you don't agree with the warranty DO NOT sell to you customers if you don't agree with price structure. Inaccurate information from sales and management, Until I got the rig home and inspected it, the promised accessories that comes with a Keystone Montana Legacy were not included, Disc Brakes Touch screen, Paint vs decal, Etc. etc. were not included. I asked for the wheel bearings to be inspected and packed, but when I took the drums off the grease was just shot through the zerk fittings and the bearings never packed. Then the financing Interest accrues from the time you walk out the door to the first payment. The scam there is no prepayment penalty but then you pay interest through the nose for the first 20 days. The finance manager tells you "You need to make the first 8 payments because they worked a deal with the bank "Truist Bank" so they get a portion of the interest back to make up more money on the sale. We were told everyone gets yelled at if you pay it off right away. Even though we paid it off before the first payment was due, we still got hit with almost $400.00 of interest. We called and emailed Sales and Management and there was no response, not even a text, e-mail, or call back. The bank paperwork and loan docs all state when the first payment is due and when interest starts. (Remember no prepayment penalty) The Management is non-negotiable in all respects including items that do not work on the walk through. Kune's is poorly managed and charges for services that they don't do. They don't care for the customer. It's a lot of lip service. Where to begin. First, we purchased a 5th wheel that included a hitch to be installed in our truck. We made the initial trip from Michigan to Wisconsin to see the rig. We agreed upon a price and they started the paperwork. They also took the specs on my truck to order a hitch and direct frame mount system to be installed the following weekend. Leading up to the closing appointment I had to hound the sales rep for even tidbits of information. Vital information to closing on a deal for an RV, like what is the interest rate, or what is the monthly payment? It wasn't until 6pm on Friday before I said enough and told them we weren't planning to close the next day. The threat of losing a deal finally prompted a manager to call me with the details I had been pushing for all week. They also confirmed they had everything for my hitch in the shop. So we woke up at 3:30 am the next morning and made our way back to WI. 1 hour of waiting and the manager came out with a that look on his face. He informed us that they were missing the vehicle specific frame mount and wouldn't be able to get it until later that week. Mind you we had just traveled 5 hours dragging our 2 year old camper that they were taking on trade and already had customers walking through. The logical side of me should've kicked in at this point but the impulsive side took over. Somehow they managed to persuade us to move forward. They agreed to allow me to have the frame brackets installed back home and reimburse me for that plus transportation mileage for another return trip to Wisconsin. So here's the big rub. Early in the deal the sales rep informed me of a $2500 prep and delivery fee that they charge for all new RV's. This was an astronomical fee compared to anything I've seen through other dealers, many who have no fee whatsoever but account for it transparently in their bottom line price. I was told this fee was to cover initial delivery to their site and for their service team to perform a final check on everything in the rig to ensure it's in proper order, and to remedy issues missed before leaving the manufacturer. Mind you, this is all stuff that any customer expects from a certified dealer of any manufacturer. That's literally their job. The problem is, they didn't do a thing other than dust the counters and wash the outside of the RV. No systems, appliances, outlets, latches, etc were tested. Not only that, they didn't even de-winterize the unit. This was evident when I went to fill the fresh water tank. I turned the pump on and RV antifreeze came spraying out the fresh water inlet because the bypass valve was stuck. This led to hours of my time necessary to remove the valve and free it before I could start de-winterizing it to do the "prep" for a camping weekend. This was a fee I paid for but was not provided. It got worse from there. We hooked to shore power and started the process of cooling the fridge to ensure we could safely transport our cold items for the weekend only to have the fridge not work. But how would they have known because it wasn't prepped as promised. It was DOA. The light is on but the compressor simply doesn't work. I spent a day this past weekend going through every possible troubleshooting step known for the fridge. Nothing worked and now we wait for an approved warranty repair to have a working fridge. Then we get to the hot water heater. The hot water heater would heat for a few seconds and then shut off while greeting us with an E1 error code. Again had they run the hot water for even 45 seconds, they'd have identified an issue that needed attention. Beyond these major issues there are 7 other items that we've found such as parts simply missing like the grate that goes under the stairs to block the cold air return. Simply never installed. And a missing soundbar remote. Run, don't walk, run from Kune's. Horrible business. read more

I was lied to from the beginning walked in the door wanting to spend 20000 to 25000 without financing I was shown some options but nothing in my price range so I left I get a call later that day from one of there sales managers Logan who then proceeded to tell me they have a huge selection due to other locations and that he could find us a nice used trailer for that price we then decide to purchase a used arctic wolf 5th wheel when we got the trailer home it was filthy trash under mattresses dirty toilets etc as we cleaned the camper we found a soft spot in the floor in a panic I call Logan who assures me it will be taken care of we had a 1 day trip planned so he suggests we use and bring in after on this one day trip the toilet leaked furnace growled waking everyone up and only worked on part of the camper as the usb outlets whined causing concerns of electrical problems we extend the awning that 20 minutes later collapses on my head electric fire place doesn't work electrical assisted bed doesn't function motors laying under the bed so after this already nightmare experience I bring the trailer in to try to come to a resolution and they tell me I need to spend another 10 to 15k so we decide to buy brand new and we find one we like and go home to think about that evening we find the exact trailer model everything for ten thousand cheaper when I ask John he tells me it has damage and that is why it is priced cheaper so we decide to call that dealership who informed us there is no damage there is more that I am forgetting I am sure this is the worst experience ever I would steer clear of kunes of Elkhorn they are dishonest and have failed in every aspect we ended up loosing 13,000 dollars ona trailer we owned for a week read more

I am writing to express my extreme disappointment with the 40' fifth wheel that I purchased from Kunes RV Elkhorn in June 2022. We were first time RV buyer and we came in knowing we wanted an all season fifth wheel to live in while we built our dream home in the near future. The salesman was very helpful and directed us to choose the Keystone Arcadia as it is advertised as an all season rig and it also had the interior style we were looking for too. During the final paperwork they strongly recommended the extended warranty. The RV was brand new so I did not understand why they would push an extended $5,000 warranty. You would expect that with their "5-point inspection" as well as being an established RV brand that an extended warranty wouldn't be necessary. With that said the salesman swore by it of course, so we trusted him and added that on to our package. Within two weekends of use the AC unit went out. My husband owns a construction company so he is a very capable guy. So rather than drive it from our Illinois home to be serviced he took a look and found that all of the wiring in the central ceiling unit was haphazardly installed and it was an easy fix for us. But it should've been caught by the "5-point inspection". By winter we sold our home and moved into the RV on our build site less than 10 min from Kunes RV. Within 2 months of full time living the furnace started making weird noises. They sent a serviceman out to take as look. We paid for this supposed excellent warranty so we were glad they agreed to come look on site. The gentleman said he's not usually the guy who does these calls but they short staffed. He agrees it doesn't sound right but he doesn't know what's wrong with it. He was about to leave it at that after he kindly played ball with my dogs for a while. Right before he left I put my husband on the phone who then explained we were going out of town for a week and we need to ensure the furnace is properly functioning before we leave so we did not come home to frozen pipes. So, Kunes said they would replace it, and they did in a timely fashion right before we left on vacation. I fashioned a camera on the thermostat while we were away to keep an eye on it. Approximately 2 days later I checked it and the temperature was only 50 degrees F. We had our nearest friend make a trip out and confirm the furnace was making a loud noise and not working. We called Kunes and they promised to get out there and ensure space heaters were running until they could diagnose and fix the problem. 3 days go by and we hear nothing. Until the morning of our flight (which the service manager knew) and we get a call saying a squirrel got into the furnace and broke it so it is not covered under warranty. That they could fix it for about $1700. I then told him that I am a veterinarian and I know that there is no squirrel leaving its den 2 days after we had 10" snowfall to seek haven in our RV. He then said oh never mind I think it was a mouse. Now remember we weren't home to see anything. The furnace was already removed when we returned home. In attempt to cut this shorter, I ordered a brand new furnace online, it arrived a week later and my husband installed it for less than half the price they quoted us. Kunes never owned up to anything and took the easy route out. A few months went by before our next major appliance broke. I came home from work and the fridge was way too warm. It's a larger capacity fridge/freezer with a thermostat that tells you the temperature. It was in the 50s. My food was all spoiled, I had to throw away everything. My husband called the service department. Left two voicemails. No response. I called after waiting patiently 2 days later and they picked up immediately and when I asked why they hadn't returned my husbands calls Jackie at the front stated they did not have any missed calls or voicemails from him. I told her my new problem and she said after discussing with the service manager that we actually had a bill for the service call that we never paid so until that is paid they will not investigate our broken refrigerator. So again, I ordered the parts online and my husband had to take several hours figuring out how to fix it. To this day we have not received a bill nearly a year later. Also, we are less than 10 minutes from the kunes location nearest us. They wanted something around $200 to come out just to take a look. Mind you, when I discovered the replacement furnace was broken for the second time they said again, because it's so new and you have the warranty we probably won't charge you for the service call. Buying our new 5th wheel was an absolute dream come true! Our salesperson was wonderful and showed us the units we were interested in and a deal was put together that weekend. The only catch is that we had to close before the end of the month, which was four days away and we lived over four hours away. Feeling good about our salesperson and the brand of 5th wheel we were purchasing we moved forward. On the grand day of pickup--we arrived at the date and time requested, excitement in the air, and... silence. They're suddenly very busy with other customers, phone calls, or possibly reorganizing the stapler. When they finally acknowledge your presence, it's clear they've done the bare minimum to prepare your RV. It was still filled with dust and who knows what else. Of course, that detailed walk-through and orientation they promised never happened at all. The financing process? Oh, that's the real treat. Nothing beats spending a few hours listening to them explain why adding extra warranties is "completely necessary."--but why would you want to miss out on that? And sure, you were ignored on pickup day, but that's just their way of saying, "You've got it from here, right? We've already got your money." Nothing says "elite buying experience" like being called two weeks after the deal. Surprise! And told that we need to pay over a thousand dollars "oops, we forgot or missed" fee. We thought the price we agreed on was the final amount? Silly us! Ah, the sweet satisfaction of trading in your old RV, thinking, "Well, at least that's done!" But wait! What's that? The dealership forgot to actually pay off your trade-in? Oh, don't worry--it'll happen... eventually. In the meantime, enjoy receiving those lovely notices from your old lender, reminding you that despite trading in your RV over a month ago, you still owe them money. It's like a fun little surprise every time you open your mailbox--another bill for something you no longer own. Meanwhile, the dealership reassures you with their favorite line: "We're working on it!" Sure, they are. Apparently, transferring the title and paying off your trade-in requires the precision and time of launching a space shuttle. And let's not forget the excitement of juggling phone calls between your old lender and the dealership, both of whom seem to be working in slow motion. You get to play detective, tracking down where your money went and why it's taking longer than the actual purchase of your brand-new 5th wheel. But hey, who doesn't love still being financially tethered to something they traded over a month ago? So, Yes --10/10 would absolutely NOT recommend Kunes RV of Fox Valley. read more

We bought a used fifth wheel from them. Paid ALOT for it. We were assured it would be detailed and come to us looking brand new. There were a few things I specifically asked them to take care of. Only 1 of those things was done. Upon getting it home, I had wanted to give it a quick "once over" with some disinfecting wipes. I spent the better part of a day cleaning it. Sink had stain which I rubbed out in a few minutes. The mattress had disgusting yellow stains on it. WHY would you even send someone home with a used mattress? I understand CW puts new mattresses in all their used RV's. We ended up throwing it out which they could have done. There was dried urine all down the front of the toilet. There was mismatched, dirty contact paper in the pantry and some of the shelves. I had to remove all of that. It was just one little thing after the next, but it added up to big frustration and loss of confidence in that place. The day of delivery, we were there for 3 hours. They try to sell you everything under the sun. Finance through them - THEY get a kickback Buy insurance through them - THEY get a kickback. No to all of the above. We purchased our first TT from Wisconsin RV World and it was just spotless. That salesman followed up with us and any time we called with questions or requests, they went out of their way to help us. I'm sad to say that is not the case with Kunes. Buy from us and never hear from us again should be their motto. We had gone to the Sheboygan Kunes, actually put $$$ down on a unit there. When we went to take a walkthrough, that mattress was even worse. The outdoor refrigerator was filled with black mold. Each Kunes dealer we've been to appears to not clean their units at all. We went to their Grand Opening in Madison and you'd think for something like that everything would be spotless. Walked into one RV and the shower door must have shattered and although the door had been replaced, they left all the glass on the floor. ???? Our salesman never followed up with us after the purchase. Typically you get a call or at least a thank you card. Crickets. We didn't have a horrible experience but I wouldn't ever buy another RV from them. They just disappointed all around. The only bright spot was Chris who I think is the service manager. We have a new camper that required some warranty service work and needed it back for a camping trip by a specific date. Shannon in service did a nice job of getting it in and completing the repairs. He replied to emails and phone messages promptly (usually within a few hours) to our questions, update requests and got it back to us in plenty of time for the trip. Thanks Shannon! read more

Buyer beware!! If you're looking to throw your money away then this is the place for you!! Won't keep accurate records of any warranty work. Took 7 months to replace an A/C and then gave I back to me with broken parts. They never ordered the "new" broken parts and told me I had to give them part numbers so they could order it. Then took 3 more months to install it. Had them repair the awning since it was broken when I bought it and thise records are now conveniently gone and now want to charge me to fix it again. Instructed there service department to go ahead and fix a tire and a light when I dropped it off for maintenance. They needed me to "ok" said tire and light repair 2.5 weeks later knowing I need it soon. I don't know what kind of mickey mouse operation is going on over there but it's ridiculous! Offer a big fake check for $2,719.00 that has no real value 4). Sell innocent women a used wholesale value car worth $7,500.00 by asking for $15,000.00 (2X), and thus net $4,000+ in pure profits (even with bogus used trade-in miminum, employee price and massively overpriced used cars on the lot), and thereby totally rip-off inexperienced ladies simply by doubling the sales price of inexpensive CHEAPO American used cars, SUVS or truck brands. What an experience. Started out thinking we were getting something great. Instead, it just keeps costing us more money. I would highly recommend getting an outside PDI done if you are considering buying from this dealership. Our brand new unit came to us with a laundry list of things we have had to repair. Things that would have been caught had a PDI actually been done. The GM is extremely rude and unprofessional. I definitely regret traveling to get to this dealership. Once you leave, you are on your own, and the further away you are, the easier it is for them to pass the buck and not make things right. read more

After taking our time to find the right travel trailer and something that is affordable we ended up at Kunes RV in Elkhorn, Wisconsin. It was a breath of fresh air after our experience at General RV. At General RV they added $6000.00 just for prep and freight costs. The freight cost was the delivery fee for a 2023 camper that had sat on their lot for a year. We didn't have any of those charges at Kunes and the camper we chose was delivered from another Kunes lot at no charge. The staff was super friendly and comfortable to talk to and helpful. We want to mention the following people that were wonderful to us--Tom who found the perfect camper for us, Eric who did all the financing and Keegan who did our walk thru! We've been waiting for tail lights for a year. No call back from staff, the general manager said he would "take care of it" he also hasn't called back. Any warranty work takes months and communication with this company is garbage. I want to sell my camper just to delete this whole experience. You deserve zero stars and need a complete overhaul on your customer service standards and business practices. read more

Sheboygan South location. Beware! Brought rv in for warranty work in August 2022. Put rv on consignment September 2022 through May 16, 2023. Called them May 1, 2023 to check on unit. Jackson, sales manager, tells us it's been off their website for 2 months, unsellable, we owe $3400 for unpaid warranty work, that they've tried contacting us for 2 months, and to come and get it. Aaron, in service, sends us the invoice and has no information regarding the warranty claim, and states Kunes will start charging us $25 per day until invoice is paid and unit is picked up. We call the warranty company who states Kunes had authorization, gave me the claim number, and said Kunes needs to call them. Meanwhile, emails to Jackson, sales, Aaron, service, Butch, sales, Tim Kunes, Regional sales, Jim Callaghan, Regional service, and Gregg Kunes, owner, all go unanswered. Arrived May 12th to pick up the rv. Besides being filthy, our license plate is gone, generator won't start, rubber seal on one of the windows is half off, def light is on, topper on one slide won't roll up correctly, and evidence of mice living in the rv. Tom, from service, who was such a tremendous help, fixed the rubber seal and topper. Got generator running but couldn't guarantee it would stay that way. I would never recommend anyone bring their rv here for any reason. The stress this place caused us, and money to get to Wisconsin to pick up our rv, has been horrific. We've been full-time rv'ers for over 12 years and this is the worst experience we've ever had. read more

Our RV was vandalized on their lot during maintenance. Catalytic converter gone. They did not ONCE call me, I only found out by reaching out to them. it also happens all the time apparently- yet they don't upgrade their security. Lies, lies, and more lies! Abysmal service - worst service I've ever experienced! Purchased a used 2021 camper last summer (2023) from Kunes in Elkhorn and noticed some small leakage which seemed to be coming from the outdoor kitchen (which we never used) only a couple of months later. Dropped off the camper in early November and was promised that they would store it indoors and that they would look at it within two weeks. Called them after Thanksgiving and was told that they needed two more weeks. I asked again if it was stored indoors to prevent any further leaking and they told me it was in Building D. Called again before Xmas and was again told they needed two more weeks and again I was promised it was still stored indoors "In Building D". I drove out to Kunes on Friday, March 15th because I was was getting concerned that something bigger was going on and was told that they have been through a lot of turnover and "were working to get their reviews better" because they knew that their service was bad. I told them that I wanted to see my camper but was told that it was "in building D which was on the other side of town and nobody was over there". They promised me that they would pull it in on Monday morning and I would "for sure" get a call by Monday afternoon. Reluctantly I trusted them. I was told by everyone I spoke to again that there was a lot of turnover and they knew they had a lot of bad reviews and were trying to fix things. On Saturday March 30th I drove down there again and was insisting on seeing my camper. That's when I was told that they don't have inside storage and "Building D" was a secondary maintenance building about 2 miles away (not on the other side of town). I spoke with Clay (the General Manager) who was absolutely useless. He blamed everyone he possibly could and ran around trying to figure out who could "take care of me". He refused to acknowledge or apologize for the multiple people that lied and misguided me over a four month period. I would NEVER buy anything from Kunes and for sure would never ask them to service anything or you may never get it back! read more

terrible service, dropped our camper off in March to get warranty items done and a door that we ordered last September for over two months never received a call with a status. We started caLling in May left numerous voicemails, no response. Then I called and asked to page service and was told to text a number. was told the recall could be taken care of, wasn't. Finally first week of June I texted multiple times of day to get our camper and it still wasnt done when we picked it up. worst service and they argue with you when you explain no one returns your calls. general manger says he hired more employees yet our camper took over 3 months even though when we told all parts were ready in March. won't be going back!!!! read more

This is an edit of a previous review that we posted when we bought our trailer from Kunes RV of Elkhorn in 2022. When we purchased the trailer, of course we were happy with the service and the camper that they sold us, so the review reflected that. However, after the sale, they have been a complete and total failure. We had a few issues that needed to be addressed with the camper, so we made an appointment an got it in a month later. After being rejected on the main issues (the flooring), due to the type of warranty we purchased, we requested the maintenance history report, which they flat out refused to give us. This is called concealment. Not quite sure if this is illegal, but certainly not ethical. Anyway, they told us that they would have two of the issues fixed (stabilizer bars and awning clip) once we arrived to pick it up. When we arrived to pick up the camper, we talked to the manager about the problems we were having with them. Afterwards, we asked how much to settle the bill, and then manager said we 'owe them nothing' at this time because they don't have the paperwork ready and they're still looking into one of the other issues. We were thinking, 'great they're taking this whole thing seriously'. Until we pulled our camper to our destination to find that they had fixed NOTHING. Absolutely NOTHING. Our camper sat in their lot for 3 weeks with no work done what-so-ever. Then I realized that was why he didn't charge us anything. Because they hadn't done anything. They flat-out lied to our face including warranty coverage and work done. Do not buy from these people. read more

Customers beware! The Better Business Bureau rates Kunes RV in Elkhorn an "F" and that is definitely the rating we would give them after our experience with Kunes. Our RV was vandalized while on their lot and in their care. Not one person from Kunes contacted us to inform us of the thousands of dollars of damage to our RV. Absolutely no disclosure or transparency from Kunes! We only found out about the damage when we called for an update on our warranty service repairs. According to Scott R. the General Manager, Kunes DOES NOT have Garage Keepers Insurance. All expenses related to the vandalism that occurred was this customer's responsibility and may be yours too. Our advice is RUN, DON'T WALK to any other dealer besides Kunes. read more

The service manager, Danny, is a con man full of broken promises, lies and excuses. He promised my parents that he would fix the broken windows and deliver their motorhome to them at 10:00 am. This after many months of requesting that he do the job he promised and was paid to do. He told them it would be ready on April 15th, they drove 2 hours to pick up their motorhome, which suddenly and unexplainable was not available to them. If it was not ready, why could someone not call this couple and tell them not to make the 2 hour drive. Then after setting up a meeting at 10:00 at the campground for a delivery, still no call saying that they would be delayed - 8 hours. Leaving my 79 year old father sitting in his car waiting for his motor home to be delivered. Horrible service! If a simple phone call can not be made, how can you trust the workmanship? read more

I recently purchase a preowned diesel pusher from Kunes Country RV in Elkhorn WI. My sales person Mike was great to work with and followed thru on everything you discussed. Just prior to delivery of the coach their detailer accidently broke the illuminated clear entry-door grab handle. Mike and the dealers sales manager Scott said they would get a replacement sent to us from Newmar. We received the part only to find it was the wrong one. I put together a pictorial of the grab bar we received along with the spec for the Newmar part we needed and emailed it to both Mike and Scott. After not hearing any replay in over a week I placed a call to Mike. The receptionist said Mike had retired (Sounded a little fishy).. I then asked to talk with Scott and was placed on hold. Scott answered the call and acknowledged he was aware of the problem and would look into it further once he was finished with a customer and call me right back. To date I have heard nothing and its been over more than a week! It always interest me when the customer service and promised follow thru seems to end when your check clears their bank. Be very careful with what your promised from this dealership... When poor customer care starts at the top it can only go down hill from there! read more

We purchased a new RV from Kunes/W. Oregon, WI. in Sept. 2022. We traded in our current unit. The buying/selling went very well. We were told by Chet, the service manager, that customers purchasing new RV's there would have top priority in the service department. We called for an appointment for warranty work 3rd week of September. Could not get it in until Oct. 11. The RV did not get in for service until end of November and only because of the multiple calls that were made. We were told the RV was finished, went through the list over the phone and again were assured all action items were resolved. After a lost day of work to travel 3 hours each way to pick up the RV, it indeed was not finished. After much pressured on our end, the RV is home Dec. 2. but only after we were to be charged for a diagnostic fee, which is covered by warranty! A good place to buy, cut and run. This company is as good as it gets! We recently took our Coachman RV to Dehaan to have the flooring replaced and the slide serviced. Kylee heads the service department and her dedication to quality customer service and repairs is very evident. This was not an inexpensive repair, but deep down, we know that for the money, we received a quality job. We were kept informed of the progress, complete with photos, and were consulted each time Dehaan discovered an area of concern that could/should be addressed. The technician that installed our flooring and serviced our motorhome is very talented and we are very, very satisfied with the result. It is evident that he takes pride in his work. We anticipate and look forward to a worry-free 2012 camping season! If you are looking for a small family operation that cares about you and your coach, you would be well served to make the trip to Elkhorn, Wisconsin.
