Located in the Mililani town center, New Genki Ramen serves some great ramen dishes as well as curry and rice bowls. I usually get their tonkotsu ramen, no complaints and very delicious. The staff is very nice and it gives a great local vibe to the restaurant. I always keep an eye out and it is very clean, the town center has a lot of parking but depending on when you go you may have to walk a bit. My daughter jumps up and steps away from the table. I placed my cup on it. The front Half of its body was still trying to run away. I tell the server and she offers to move us to another table. I ordered the ton kotsu ramen to go. The description says a panko-breaded pork cutlet served in a rich pork broth among other ingredients. Removed cover from bowl and no panko-breaded pork cutlet. Called to say they forgot the pork cutlet but they said it's kotsu, not katsu? So it's in the broth? Very deceiving description in the menu. Stopped in for an early dinner here and although being loyal patrons in the past before ownership changed I have to say that upon our visit I was not at all happy. The food was not great with the ramen being watered down and without flavor. However the main reason for this was purely customer service which was less than satisfactory. The workers here were incredibly rude to my family. My mom likes her soup really hot temperature wise, and simply asked the waitress if her ramen could be reheated a bit longer in a microwave. The waitress proceeded to say that it comes out hot already and then started talking in Chinese and it sounded like she was annoyed with the request as she told the cook who stormed out of the kitchen to our table to reiterate what she mentioned. He then rudely & coldly said that if you don't like it then you can cancel your order. They decided to reheat it although clearly annoyed. This was a very rude and upsetting experience for my family who have been local patrons in the past and to add insult to injury even though we decided to stay ...they tacked on all of these hidden charges on our receipt such as the chili spice that my mom had wanted added to the dashi which to me is unheard of from any ramen shop I've ever been to on top of the extra hot charge. I love coming here to eat when I'm in mililani. The dining area is always clean, pleasant staff & our server also mentioned that we came during happy hour so we get a free order of gyoza! Me & my boyfriend had a hard time choosing which curry to get (they have quite a few) but we ended up getting the beef curry; I was kind of sad that there was only 1 pieces of carrot & a few chunks of potatoes but the flavor was great, we'll definitely come back to try the oyster curry & the chicken katsu curry. read more

Wasn't really sure about this place looking at the reviews but decided to try it out this past weekend. Servers were good, there were two of them so they took our orders quickly, brought out our food fast and refilled waters, no complaints! Food tasted good, not amazing but still decent. My cousin did ask for a take out menu but they didn't have one so we just took a picture of their restaurant menu. We found this place on DoorDash a few years ago, loved the pricing, taste & amount of food they gave. Sadly never took any photos cause we was always hungry. Decided to have lunch at this Ramen shop located in the Mililani Town center. I believe this was another Ramen shop before and they changed names . My wife got their Gyoza Udon she said it didn't have to much taste . It was a light shoyu base with 3 pieces Gyoza and one char Siu . The udon noodles was ok . I had their Mabo Tofu over rice it was a nice portion although it had a lot of sesame oil . We also ordered 2 Diet Pepsi which it didn't come to us until we were about to leave . When paying the bill I told the owner that make sure she took off the 2 drinks from our bill because we received it late . This used to be our go to place for ramen especially when the weather was rainy or chilly. Last nite I chose something I haven't eaten before: gomoku udon. I liked the one piece of kamaboko(pink fish cake slice) and half an egg. There was very little udon on the bottom but it was good. Sadly the broth had absolutely no taste. I had to add several tablespoons of sauce we brought back from Osaka for a decent flavor. If you like veggies, there was more veggies then udon in the bowl. Perhaps I need to stick with what I'm familiar with: miso or curry ramen or Mabo tofu and gyoza or their combination with ramen, Fred rice and gyoza. Mililani has two other ramen places to date and that could be an alternative too. read more

Haven't been here in a while. New ownership, same bad service. Menus laid on tables, they drop a glass of water, they come and take your order, then they drop the bill even before you are done eating. Nothing has changed. Service is as bad as at any Chinese restaurant. The food servers NEVER come around and ask, "is everything okay here?" or "do you need anything else here?". If they would only do that, JUST THAT, they would definitely make a lot more tips! Easy! read more

We were on our way to Waipio Costco and was feeling kind of hungry. We wanted to try some place new so we stayed on the freeway and drove to Mililani. Rarely come here so was surprised to see new eating places. My husband wanted to eat noodles so decided to try this place. We both ordered the Won Ton...I had it with ramen noodles and my husband ate his with udon. Both were tasty but the flavor is better with thinner noodles. We also ordered the 4-pc. Gyoza which was good...tasted like other ramen places. Our waitress was nice, the restaurant was clean and the service was fast! The only complaint I have...there were maybe 5 or 6 won ton pieces but not enough filling like other places. When I order the Won Ton Min, the star should be the dumplings, right?! It's just like I remember it back in the day! I hadn't been to Genki Ramen since maybe 2012 or earlier when I left Hawaii, and I was always wondering if they still existed. I'm happy to say that they do, and when I walked past it when I was visiting my auntie in Mililani, I knew I had to have some. I didn't get my usual (mapo tofu ramen), but I ended up doing a Mochiko Chicken with a side of curry, because for some reason I just really wanted some curry and chicken but not the chicken katsu. The curry was PERFECT and the mochiko chicken was made just right. The gyoza was perfect and just like I remember, and I was just happy with the food experience. When we went, it was pretty empty for a Saturday afternoon, but it worked out in our favor because we got our food really quickly. I don't know if my other photos are showing up but hopefully they will soon. Everything moves pretty quickly there when there's not a lot of people, so I recommend going when there's a lull so that you can get in and out and enjoy your food. read more

I finished at the Beauty Room and my stomach was seriously growling. Being right next door Genki Ramen was the winner. This was my first time here in my order was to go. The restaurant was clean and there weren't any other customers in there at this time. One girl was behind the register extremely busy taking phone orders but I was promptly greeting by a friendly auntie who was happy to answer my questions and then took my tailor-made vegan food udon order. I could've waited inside for my order, but I enjoyed the evening breeze of the town center and they kindly brought my food out to me. The flavor was good, a little salty to my liking, and the udon noodles were plenteous. They use recyclable containers, which is important to me. The bottled water was pleasantly room temperature, which is exactly how I prefer my water, but I know many would be disappointed in that. I would definitely eat here again. The lady in front is friendly. That's about all I have to say about New Genki Ramen. I tried their beef curry with a side of gyoza. The gyoza wasn't bad at all, but the beef curry.... Why is it sweet??? It almost tastes fruity. I didn't want to judge them on one item, so I went back to try their fried rice. Good ramen shops have good curry, good fried rice and good gyoza. The fried rice comes with a choice of beef, chicken, pork or for a little extra, shrimp. I opted for chicken. Well, I gotta say, it was filling! But unfortunately, nothing to write home about, either. It was a big "okay". I personally think a little salt wouldn't hurt. I must admit, the tidbits of chicken was very tender. Probably thighs? A ramen shop is not a ramen shop if they don't have good ramen. So far, I haven't tried theirs. But in my opinion, fried rice and curry is a LOT easier to make than a bowl of ramen. Once you step into Genki Ramen you smell the broth of the ramen. It's a clean and quaint eatery. The service was good, they were very attentive and the server serving us was very polite and pleasant. Now the food. The food is exactly what you'd expect it to be. Nothing short of above average. The katsu was crispy and the curry was tasty. The gyoza was also very tasty. The only reason why I gave 4 stars and not 5 is that the food could have been hotter. I was almost tempted to ask if they could heat it up for me. The waitress brought the bowl to me within a few minutes, 4-5 ish, normal for these type of ramen places. The second she placed it down, I knew something was wrong by looking at it. I asked her, " this is tan tan?" And she looked me dead in the face and said yes grabbed a menu and pointed at the photo. I asked if she was sure. My youngest called in a take out order today. She must've wanted to make a change, and called a second time. The change left her without the fried rice she anticipated. When I arrived home, my girl was looking for her fried rice in her combo, so I put in a call to the restaurant. The lady on the end cut straight into me about fried rice and combos. I was chastised for assuming a fried rice was left out. In these times, I don't call to make too many fusses, because restaurant owners are keeping watch over their wallets just like the rest of us. So we saw this ramen place in the mall area it used to be another name but can't remember what name it was before but anyway when i go to any ramen shop I always order curry rice whether its beef or chicken katsu. Decided to eat here with my mom and aunty for dinner and noticed that there was no one here. We gave it a try and the food was okay. It was filling but nothing major. The main problem we had was the lady serving/owner for the place. While eating she would yell at either her husband or a young girl to do things. Once we finished eating we grabbed the check and paid. As soon as we did the lady came back to our table and demanded we gave more tip. She said "You paid $60+ so it should be $6 tip or more" which my aunty had given her a $3 tip (she didn't do much just on her phone listening to music and took our order that's about it). When we tip its mainly on the service and how we were treated didn't think it would be such a big problem for her. She kept going on and on without us leaving.
