I've tried all 3 branches, Wahiawa, King & Waikiki....all broke da mouth! I go for the pho ribs of course!!!

We were looking for something new to try while we were back in town visiting and Ribs & Broth fit the bill. We arrived around t and it wasn't to busy, we were able to sit right away and our party of 5 was no problem. There was only one young lady taking orders and working the register so it took her a min to come over. We got some drinks going and after they were delivered she took our order. The food came out in a timely manner and everything was very good. Everyone really enjoyed their meal. The spring rolls were crispy and tasty, my wontons were good and the broth and noodles hit the spot. The only issue I had was when paying the bill, this is a pet peeve of mine and doesn't reflect the food. I find it very disrespectful to charge your patrons a service charge to take credit cards, and 4 percent on top of it. If you're up in wahiawa stop by and enjoy the food but maybe bring cash. read more

Great pho place in Wahiawa near Longs Drugs. Says "vietnamese and japanese" on the front but really this is a vietnamese restaurant that serves katsu, tempura, and gyoza. Not that many Japanese mains on the menu, which is vastly majority vietnamese. The pho and noodle dishes are great here though. The pho with beef short ribs had a good soup and very soft, tasty rib meat. Literally fell off the bone. The chicken katsu was decent but not as good as the pho. We came to Ribs & Broth in Wahiawā to try their pho, especially since they're known for the giant bone-in meat. Unfortunately, it did not live up to the hype. The broth lacked flavor, and the meat was tough and didn't fall off the bone like we thought it would. It was so chewy! In addition, we tried the spicy Bún Bò Huế, which was much tastier compared to the pho. If we ever came back, that's probably what we'd order. The best part of our meal was the chicken salad which was fresh and delicious, and the spring rolls. The spring rolls were really really good. The spring rolls were crispy and flavorful. Our last two dishes were the lemon grass chicken plate and fried rice. The chicken was just so-so. The meat was not very tasty and was super dry. The fried rice, I'm sorry to say, but was the worst fried rice I've ever had. Tasteless and they used prepackaged frozen vegetables in it. Very disappointing considering the fried rice was $18!! Service was lacking. Our waiter forgot some basic things like enough water and plates for the table, and overall was pretty slow. Well it's got to be a delish place because it's my 2nd time in one week!! Our friends wanted Pho so here we are again. I had the Bun Bo Hue a second time but this time I asked for rice noodles. We also ordered spring rolls, crab Rangoon, Sizzling Wafu steak, Won ton soup, and 3 orders of Pho rib soup. The Bun Bo Hue had lots of beef and just right spice. You could heat it up by adding jalapeño. The ribs in the Phi Rib soup are huge. Lots of beef!!! Both broth was tasty. The owner, He, is super friendly and hospitable. There are several locations around the island, but I personally like this location better than the one in Waikiki. According to the owner, they're all friends who opened up this chain and the Waikiki location specifically tailors more towards visitor palates versus what we may be accustomed to with the local/Asian flavors. My dining partner got the beef back rib pho that comes with meat on the bones, thus, you have to work a little for it. But the meat is definitely soft and tender. Needs a little more seasoning but there are condiments on the dining tables to add a little more spice or flavor to your meats and broth. There were 2 workers at the time, both were quick and efficient with their service. The gentleman running the front/cashiering was very chatty but did not overdo it. He mentioned that it's getting more and more difficult to find products here on island, what with the uncertainty of our economy. Absolutely delicious. I've been craving a good bahn mi sandwich and have wanted to try this place for a while. My sandwich was perfect. The bread was slightly crispy on the outside but not too chewy. The bbq pork was so flavorful with just a little heat and there was a good amount. There was also lots of pickled veggies and cilantro. Everything came together so well. Also ended up putting auto gratuity, tip, on our bill. I work in the food industry, this owner was an A.Hole. Was not the wrong restaurant. Location is in wahiawa by Longs Drugs. This was not on a Tuesday. By the way you, the owner, are trying to make excuses already makes you look bad. I promise I would not make any of this up. Absolutely no reason to. Very upset because we had kids and were treated so unfairly. I have my sister as a witness. Owner indeed yelled at us once we walked thru the door because we were by the door and he was by the cashiers desk and yelled at us from across the room to put the baby's shirt as we were trying to do so because he was crying. #31 of 52 (weeks of trying a new restaurant at least once a week). I was craving pho so we headed to Wahiawa to our normal spot only to find out it was closed for some reason. I was so bummed as I really wanted pho. Then I remembered there was another pho restaurant in Wahiawa that we hadn't tried yet. Hit a u-turn and we high tailed it to Ribs & Broth. It was a weeknight and there were a few empty tables so we were in luck. After a quick view of the menu I settled on the steak and brisket pho and my honey got the steak pho. We saw another table enjoying the fried oyster so decided to get some of those as well. The oysters came pretty quickly. They had a nice taste to the them and the sauce was good. Up next the pho came out. I doctored it up with all the veggies and dug in. The broth was tasty and I like how thin the brisket was cut as it made it easy to eat. There was a nice meat to fat ratio in the brisket. Steak was good as well. I will say that I wished the veggies that came with the noodles included the long stem cilantro. Our normal place has that and I really like it in the pho. The place is bright and clean and they do have a restroom. The owner came by and asked how our food was and how we heard about that. While I still love my normal pho place in Wahiawa, this will be our choice on the days our go-to spot is closed. read more

Don't care for it served in a take out cup while I'm dining in, and it was premade, not the usual French press style prepared at the table. Definitely did not have the strong punch I was expecting & it's $6.50. Summer Rolls were refreshing! Soft exterior with crunchy textures from the fresh veggies inside. We ordered this with shrimp and it was just perfect. The peanut sauce served on the side was lightly flavored, not too sweet, not too salty, but just right! Spring Rolls here are a MUST TRY. Honestly, there's nothing different about the preparation or ingredients... it's the standard size and filled spring roll you'd get from other similar eateries, but there's something about it that stands out from the rest. Their sauce is also amazing.. maybe it's the 2 combined that just hits the spot for me :) Beef Back Rib Pho - my wife's favorite. This is so simple, but the flavor of the broth and that tender, tender meat that falls off the bone... YUMMM. If you're a meat eater, I would highly suggest trying this at least once. It might look intimidating because the large bone sticking out the bowl, but it's really not that much food. I'd compare it to a medium sized pho, as far as the amount of noodles they give. Same veggies are served on the side - we like to dip the meat in a side dish of hoisin, sriracha, and chili oil. Deeeerishess! Lastly, the Lemongrass Chicken Bahn Mi - this was really good, although different. The bread 5/5: Soft, crunchy and noticeably fresh. The chicken 5/5: Well marinated and perfectly cooked. It had nice grill marks and was soft & juicy to the bite. Made with chicken thighs, which I prefer 100%. This Bahn mi was PACKED with flavor.. a curry flavor, which I wasn't expecting, but it was still a great dish. The light mayo spread and pickled carrot & daikon brings it all together. Lunch in Wahiawa, Oahu, Hawaii... This is the original location of Ribs & Broth. Dear Daniel and I didn't want to drive out here - so, we went to the new Waikiki location. It's a different experience... in "town"... The good things about this Wahiawa location are: 1. Free, stress-free parking; 2. Exceptional service - the owner would call young boys "boss" and greet older guys with "bro"... very friendly! He asked where I came from and said he used to work in Kaneohe for 15 years! 3. You get to see what locals eat. I heard sizzling platters several times and had to ask what that deliciousness was... Wagyu beef! I'll have to get that next time! On this visit, I got the Beef Back Rib Pho. That's what Daniel had in Waikiki. He enjoyed it so much because the meat fell off of the bone! Yes! It does! ...and the meat is so tender and flavorful! Rainy nights call for Pho for dinner! Nothing hits more than a big bowl of soup on a cold rainy night. This Wahiawa gem has plenty of parking and a super clean and bright interior. You can tell that this a real local, family- run joint. I think that they're mostly known for their beef back ribs pho, that comes with a giant bone-in beef rib inside. We opted for their short ribs pho, beef stew with rice, and nem cuon summer rolls. My absolute favorite of the night was the nem cuon summer rolls with their grilled pork sausage. What really sets this summer roll apart from the rest is the little rolled up crispy wonton paper inside! The beef stew was like a beef stew / soup combo. Very soupy and had a lot of the same flavor profiles as the pho but with added tomato base. The meat inside was very tender and we got it with rice, but other starch options were rice noodles or bread. The short ribs is my pho were a bit chewy and I did miss all the other things that usually come in a combo pho like the tendon and tripe. The broth was very good, I didn't even need to add any hoisin or sriracha. I did notice on other tables (but not ours) were what looked like a homemade garlic chili sauce. It's officially fall with sporadic cold and rainy nights. We decided to check out Ribs and Broth after seeing multiple reviews from instagram. The menu is similar to other pho restaurants however they have some Japanese food available. Great options for those who are not feeling pho. We decided to other the short rib pho, spring roll vermicelli, and bbq pork bahn mi. Everything was delicious especially the bahn mi. My husband who doesn't like bahn mis loved theirs. He said the flavor and the texture of the bread was great unlike some other places that toast the bread to the point it's rock hard. Portions were really good as well. Service was really friendly. Especially when we were there, there was only one server but yet he was so nice. Many people were ordering the wafu steak that comes out on a sizzling platter. It looked and smelled delicious. Husbabe and I decided to take a drive to Wahiawa for dinner from Mililani while we had a two hour wait for our fur baby to be done at the groomers. Surprisingly as we walked in the place was empty, only another couple dining in. We were greeted immediately and were able to choose a table. The owner was very polite, brought us our drinks immediately. I already knew what I wanted to order by reading all the reviews. I ordered the beef bone rib pho, fried oysters & crab rangoon, my husbabe got the combo pho med size. Everything came out quick. I enjoyed the broth as it wasnt salty but lots of flavor. The meat fell right off the bone. The fried oysters were delicious and cooked well. The crab rangoon wasnt my husbabes favorite but I enjoyed it. He said his combo pho was good but felt the soup couldve been a little more hot as his noodles was still bunched up (cold). I would give no stars if I could. This is such a waste of 15 minutes. My daughter and I walked in to dine in. There were 3 tables with diners, one of which was finishing their meal. While waiting to be sat, two more parties to sit came after us along with to go orders being picked up. After finally being acknowledged, we were motioned to a table to sit. We were not given menus so we picked up our own. The guy went around and took the orders of the two tables before us and was dealing with to go orders but then took the order of the man who came in after us. Water was also given to another couple who also came after us. When I asked if we could order, he told me that he would get to us when it was our turn. I asked after he brought the herbs out to the tables that just ordered. This is already more than 15 minutes of sitting there and waiting him take to go orders. He later comes back with water and informs us that they are busy and there are already 20 orders in. I asked if that meant that he wasn't going to take our order and he said that we would have to wait about 15 more minutes. He should have said something when we first came in so we didn't have to waste all that time. I guess if you want to eat here, just do take out orders because they do not care about those dining in. Update to your response: Yes, as a person who has been to many restaurants, I understand when there is a wait for food after you Actually order, but telling a customer that it will be a 15 minute wait just to Place an order is ridiculous after already sitting there. That means I would be sitting there for 30 minutes before ordering, then waiting for my food. Even in a fine dining restaurant, a customer wouldn't wait that long just to order food. Oh, and I can't imagine others being upset when all I did was ask for clarification how long I had to wait to place an order and after you said 15 minutes, that you should've said something when I first got there. What a great little hidden gem! We were heading up to Haleiwa but needed to get something to eat since we just inhaled vegan donuts. We came in just after two tables and there looked like only one guy was working the floor. The two tables that were eating were doing some serious grinding, so the food must be good. We ordered the spring rolls and the garlic fried rice with chicken. The rolls were nice and crispy! The fried rice was delicious, and a generous portion! We looked up good places to eat in wahiawa. It was right down the street from the wahiawa botanical garden, next to Longs. The service is so fast! I ordered when I walked in, and my food arrived before my husband came from the car! It was super fast, like a minute! The server was super nice and attentive! They made police conversation and filled up the water frequently. When I sat down, they made sure I had all the spices I needed to enjoy my food. They keep the tables super clean and neat and play mellow music quiet but not too quiet. My husband ordered the beef back rib. It's supposed to be one of the new things on the menu and the server even recommended it! It had 2 giant ribs that stuck out of the bowl and it was so meaty, and tender, and delicious! BTW...my name isn't Karen and that is BAD business!! If you're NOT going to take customers at 7:20pm then that is what your sign should say!! I have worked in restaurants before and we would ALWAYS take customers until closing time because THAT IS WHAT TIME THE SIGN SAYS and that is what time is advertised. This is usually my favorite pho spot in Wahiawa, the service is usually great and the food is flavorful. We would come here and get take out often. This last time I came in with my family of 3. A group of about 7 came in after us and ordered after us yet received their food waaay before us. About 10 minutes after giving them their food, the server noticed they gave one of our plates to this larger group. The server tried to give us the plate, but we have no clue if this table touched the plate. He tried to insist that no one touched it and the food never left the plate, but I would rather not take that risk; especially since it sat at their table for so long. Like why is he arguing with us if I should eat food from another persons table? Eventually he came back and finally took the plate from our table. What a huge mistake! Food here is decent. I ordered an iced coffee to go. When I got home, yuk! It tasted like coconut. I called the restaurant the next morning n asked if they put coconut milk in it. He said they ran out of condensed milk so they substituted w coconut milk. I asked, "why didn't you tell me that? Not your traditional Vietnamese restaurant. The dead giveaway is using ranch dressing on top of daikon and radish with lettuce instead of fish sauce which is really weird. I had the rice dish with pork, and the meat was overly oily and lacked any traditional Vietnamese flavors (oyster sauce, lemongrass, and Vietnamese seasoning) balancing sweet and salty. No fish sauce aka Viet crack sauce was given. The pho was bland and lacked the beef spices you would expect. If you're here for just a big piece of rib that's hard and messy to eat, sure - do you thing, but I wouldn't recommend this if you're looking for traditional flavors. read more

Ok for the Pho: 1. Came out pretty fast. 2. Piping hot 3. Plenty of meat. Big pieces of Beef Ribs (two) 4. Noodles, decent amount. My wife ate a large, normally only eats mediums. Good texture. 5. Yeah yeah yeah, I'm not a big fan of Pho and although I luv Vietnamese food I usually lean to BunBoHue when having soup. I don't understand the need to "add" sauces to make Pho taste good. I'm old school in my restaurant visits....you should be enjoying the food placed before you as the chef seasoned it, if not find a restaurant you can. My foodie friend Rod U has told me on several occasions that I should try the Pho at Rib & Broth and as I rolled my eyes he would evoke the NO MSG which is another unfavorable additive to food in my book. So today I decided to drive the ten miles to Wahiawa timing my arrival for 11:00 which is the stated time of opening. Pulling up to the business front I encountered a locked entrance, no lights, no welcoming OPEN sign. Rechecking my trusty Yelp app I was neither late nor wrong on the date so I decided to be patient and wait to see is anyone showed up. Ten minutes later a crew of ladies carrying their Starbucks containers arrived profusely apologizing for being late. Too funny guess they don't like the in-house Thai coffee ! Seated at a table for four I ordered food for one. The Spring rolls first and the recommended Short rib Pho second. Ah what to say about the Spring Rolls....pretty good, not dripping oil and served with fresh green, freshly washed lettuce, julienned carrots and daikon and chilled vermicelli with a side dish of flavorful sauce...pretty typical but very refreshing. Then the star of the Pho show was placed before me. Before adding anything to the Pho I tasted the broth...wow, impressive flavor! Absolutely no oil floating on top and crystal clear...just beef flavor wonderfully seasoned. I added the freshly washed basil, the bean spouts and a squeeze of lemon for brightness and dug into the absolute best bowl of Pho I've ever eaten. The short rib meat was plentiful throughout the bowl not just on top but all the way into the bottom.
