Ramen-Ya is always a go-to place for my friend and I if we want a good, quick lunch. Their portion sizes are giant so you'll definitely be leaving with leftovers. The restaurant itself is a bit small but the service is so attentive that they're able to serve people quickly. So if there's a wait for a table, don't worry... you'll be seated fairly quickly! And due to its small size, it's a great place to go if you'd like to have an easy to hear conversation with a friend. I recommend trying one of their combo sets. You'll get to choose a ramen choice along with a main plate entree and a side of gyoza. A great deal!

This is my family's go to spot since the food is always great with fast service! Our family's go to order is the combination ramen and cold noodle. You get lots of food for the price which is amazing since we usually have leftovers! Highly recommend coming here especially for happy hour for the complimentary gyoza.

Improved service. I'm happy to report that the two young men who greeted and took our order were pleasant. The Service was attentive, and the two ramen we ordered came out quickly. The noodles were good. Mabo Tofu Ramen seemed a little watered down. Overall, if you're in the area and looking for ramen, give them a try. Enjoy.

While visiting another business in the same complex we decided to try out Ramen-Ya. It's in a strip mall, the restaurant itself is fairly small and like other places it's size the air conditioning is low so diners don't stay a long time. We were seated at the bar and quickly waited on. Husband ordered the Spicy Miso and I ordered the Vegetable Ramen. He enjoyed his soup and liked the broth and contents. I enjoyed my Ramen loaded with vegetables and the broth was tasty. I took half of mine home for the next days lunch. Next time I think we will try the combination, which looked interesting. The service was great, food arrived quickly and was tasty.

If you're looking for an affordable and filling meal, go to Ramen-ya. This Pearl City location is a couple of doors down from Dunkin Donuts. The combo sets feature a mini ramen or won ton bowl with choice of select entrees and gyoza for $13.95. On this visit, we ordered Set A and B. The broth in the won ton bowl seemed to have better flavor, as tge ramen broth seemed a bit bland. There are condiments on the table. Props for accommodating our request for no rice, which was substituted with mixed vegetables. It was a full house when we got there. Turnover is fairly quick. Clip the coupon for 15% off.

Went here on a overcast drizzling rain day, go inside to get a number if all 6 tables are full, they also have a small counter area overlooking the kitchen. The best deals are the combos, Small ramen with 4 gyoza and a side dish, Katsu curry , Spam Katsu, beef curry, gyoza curry, mochiko chcken on rice or fried rice. I tried the black garlic ramen, it was OK, but I had better at Onoya in Kapahulu.

Although this location doesn't have all the same menu items as the Mililani one (I was definitely missing my favorite salmon fried rice), we still had a really good experience overall. I tried the sukiyaki beef bowl this time--it was decent, though it leaned a bit heavy on the rice compared to the portion of beef. The chicken karaage was a standout. The portion was generous, fried fresh, and paired really well with a spicy mayo dipping sauce. We also ordered the tofu salad, which was surprisingly large and super flavorful, with a sesame peanut dressing that I really enjoyed. Service was extremely quick, likely because the restaurant was pretty empty (which worked in our favor, especially during spring break). It did feel a bit rushed at times, but honestly, I didn't mind since I tend to prefer a quick in-and-out dining experience. Parking was also very convenient, with plenty of spaces available around the mall on multiple levels. Even though this location doesn't carry all of our favorites from Mililani, we'd still definitely come back. Solid food, fast service, and a great option when you're craving something warm and satisfying.

The ramen was 3, plenty of broth and noodles (rest of the items you select). The spicy broth was good, not great but good. I liked the amount of noodles given, just seemed to be missing a flavor. The fried chicken was 2 if not less. It was bland and greasy, no crunch and the coating was thin. The sauce given did not help or make it worse. Located in Pearl Kai Shopping Center, Build Your Own Rmaen (BYOR) opened on December 26, 2018 offering create your own bowl of noodles. As a townie and not keen to fight traffic, I've bookmarked this business and finally made it here after 6 years. Late to the party but better than never... I was invited to celebrate a birthday with noodles and was asked to give suggestions near Pearl City area. I immediately jumped and mentioned BYOR, and used next door neighbor Island Glazed Donuts as an incentive. No further explanation needed so I took off 1/2 day from work to attend this get together. It was a right decision to come here for lunch as traffic from town was light and lots of parking as we arrived on a Wednesday. With many shared businesses in this lot, parking can get challenging here. The restaurant was fairly empty as I arrived at 1215pm and sat on a long table for our group of 5. They have picture menus so it's easy to follow the instructions to order. Interior was bright and welcoming with many signs of food pictures posted on the walls and as well on each table. Near the entrance are 2 long showcases of meats and vegetables. Signs advise you the price and there's also a laminated chart on the wall near the scale that calculates your cost as your bowl is dependent on the weight. You grab an empty basket and pair of tongs and you select what you want. For me, I chose head on shrimp, book tripe, beef tendon, fish ball with roe, squid, bamboo shoots, black fungus, fried tofu, pumpkin slices and king mushroom. You take your basket to the register to have it officially weighed where you also select your broth and type of starch. I was craving a curry broth but unfortunately that wasn't an option. I then took a leap of faith by trying the spicy sour cabbage broth. In addition to each of us getting our bowl of noodles, my sister also wanted to try their spring rolls. Perhaps because it wasn't busy our food came out quickly. Piping hot, our creations were nicely presented with toppings nicely arranged. We snapped away with our cameras and it was finally time to dig in. THE VERDICT: Overall, very impressed with the food quality and execution. Loved how tender the book tripe and beef tendon were. The head on shrimp were cooked until perfection - - juicy and lots of shrimp head fat. Yummo!!! My noodles had a great chew and bounce, however, I wasn't a real fan of the spicy sour cabbage broth. Kinda tasted like a tom yum koong but somewhat funky. I jazzed up my creation with their housemade satay sauce that was off the charts. Highly recommended. Service was above average as the staff came to check up on us and refilled our water cups. She even came to see if we had room for our complimentary Taiwanese style shave ice dessert that comes with ramen orders. This bowl was heavenly. So refreshing and cooled our palates down after a hot bowl of noodles. We enjoyed our first visit to BYOR and will be back again. I'll be sure to order another broth and perhaps sample other appetizers that got my attention. NOTE. You pay for your meal after you're done. My bowl was a whopping $35. For a party of 5 service charge of 18% was automatically tacked on to our bill. You also have the option of adding more gratuity in addition to the automatic service charge. 2026 #55
