Beware ordering from them online. I was excited to receive my order after trying their bread at a restaurant that they supply. However, the order I received was missing items and one of the loaves was super moldy. The items were not cheap so I was super bummed. I contacted the company via email three times and left two messages via voicemail (they do not answer their phone). I never received a response. I was out $ for the missing items and for the moldy bread that had to be tossed right away. After a month of trying to contact them, I had to just let it go. I just wanted the items I had paid. The rolls I received were suuuuper dry and inedible. The bread that wasn't moldy was very tasty though, thus the two starts instead of one. read more

i used to love this bakery and ordered from them for years. But over the past year or so, the quality has taken a nose-dive. The bread itself tastes good but crumbles - I can no longer use it for sandwiches or toast! (This was not the case previously so something has changed). One ordered had a dozen loaves of bread and half of them were moldy! and all somewhat flattened. The person I spoke to said it was the fault of Federal Express and sent another order, but there were moldy, crushed loaves in that one too. The boxes that the bread comes in are flimsy. the loaves are packed in, so everything is crushed when it arrives. who wants squished bread! This bakery used to be great and I recommended it to my audience (people with autoimmune disease who can't eat gluten) but unfortunately I can no longer do so. I am never out of New Grains gluten free English muffins or bagels. I love their bread too, but I usually go for the muffins or bagels. I live in Florida so I order a bunch and save them in the freezer. They are perfect after toasting and I don't feel like I'm missing the gluten! Love! While their sourdough might not be exactly 100% the same as gluten full sourdough, it is so tasty! It has that sourdough flavor and has a nice bread consistency and toasts up delightfully. Was worried it might not be in best form after shipping, but it was great and threw a couple loafs int he freezer to keep fresh - and I am now enjoying! My son is allergic to wheat, corn, soy, peanuts. Try finding baked goods without those ingredients in any form, no less ones that taste decent. Well, New Grains has made what seemed impossible, possible. We started with the sourdough as a test, and it passed with flying colors. Then we tried the tortillas, pizza crust, pie crust, hot dog buns, dinner rolls, English muffins and whole grain bread. Finally, my son feels like he can eat somewhat normally. I also ordered the croutons to make dressing for Thanksgiving. Since we live in California, all our purchases are online. My only complaint would be their online orders take a while to process, so you have to be very proactive to order ahead of time if you want the food for an event. My wife was recently diagnosed with a wheat and egg allergy and we have been trying everywhere to find decent baked goods that she can actually eat without doubling over in intense stomach pains. New Grains has a wide selection of wheat and egg free selections, like bread, cookies, tortillas, etc. I expected these wheat and egg free items to not taste that good, but I was pleasantly surprised when I found the taste of them to be pretty good! Stopped in here with my mom who was recently diagnosed with celiac...we tried a few of their cookies and bread, all gluten free and all amazing! Excellent product and so delicious. When ever I'm in town I load up my whole suitcase before the trip home. But when I get stuck in California (like this time) I ordered on Friday and got it today, so yummy. I've been enjoying the sourdough when the bakery first started and it just gets better ever year. I still remember how proud Tim was of his sourdough baby (I miss him so much RIP Papa Tim). So smart to make the sourdough ciabatta roll now I would like to see that roll turned into a sourdough bread bowl. The customer service is horrible, especially if there is a problem. I ordered over $60 worth of baked goods which were supposed to be delivered for free in 2 days. After 5 days in transit (100 degree weather) the box arrived to St George, UT with obviously stale breads and one package of cookies open, dirty and broken (poor packaging). I've emailed and called the New Grains folks but not even a response, let alone fresh products. I won't waste my money with them again. read more

The customer service is horrible! I called because the shipping for an order I was doing to a catering job was late. I was told there was nothing they could do - and it was not their fault. If a company uses a shipping company that fails that is NOT the customers fault. When this company started an issue like this would have been handled immediately. Happened upon this place by accident while yelping for gluten free restaurants on a road trip. The manager recommended the English muffins - so glad she did. They taste better than the real thing (as best as I can recall). I also bought the pizza crust, tortillas, sour dough bread and sugar cookies. The sugar cookies were more sense than expected and a tad too almond flavored, but overall a nice treat. The sour dough bread was made into BLT sandwiches. The bread didn't toast like typical sour dough, but the texture and flavor is still fantastic. I haven't tried the remaining items at time of review. I will be ordering online in the future since storefront is 8 hours away. read more
