I have rented an ebike on two previous occasions,once in Madison,NJ and once in Provincetown,MA. All 3 locations had excellent service and reliable ebikes. The trail between the canal and the Delaware river was not as wide as other trails,but the women walking were extra wide,so a bit challenging when passing. The weather was perfect,not a cloud in the sky,and 67 degrees. I will do it again,but head South along the Delaware. read more

Terrible service. Took a new bike in for a frayed brake cable. Three weeks in, no call bike is stilL mot ready. I called to find out what was going on and got nothing but attitude. After 3 weeks+ of no movement i was told that they're waiting for parts sso they can replace the cranks (and charge me) which had nothing wrong with them. Long story short, the bike went in for a very minor repair and almost a month later it's still not done and the shop is doIng work that they weren't asked to do just so they can charge me for it. read more

Really disappointed. They told me my bike would be no more then $50 and a week or less. It's been about a month I've called every week and the bike is still not done they finally told me I needed "new" parts and it would be about $150 without me knowing. If you go here make it clear what you want done and double check how long it will take! read more

I took my 3 1/2 year old son in to the shop to get his first peddle bike and the gentlemen were very helpful and patient to fit my son to his new bike. This is my second kids bike purchase from them as I bought my older daughters first peddle bike a year ago and experienced the same level of customer service. Keep up the good work guys. read more

Bought a new bike from New Hope Cycles in the last week. Great service from the whole team, with detailed final fit of the finished bike. They asked me to ride it for two weeks and bring it back for a fine-tune. Rode it for an hour and decided the fit was too tall. Took it in and they adjusted it immediately. This was my second time in the shop. The first time was last year when they bike-packed a bike to ship to my son in Utah and did a fantastic job. When I was I the shop, they answered numerous questions for other customers and riders with respect and details. These guys, like many other Bike shops are getting crushed by Pandemic Bike work where many are discovering or rediscovering riding. I am not trying to dismiss other folks experiences, but like many retail businesses, these are challenging times. All in all I recommend these guys and will continue to use them myself. read more

Some of the worst service I have ever received. I took my bike here for a tune up, some specific things I had mentioned was that something seemed wrong with the headset, when stopping the front of the bike would jitter. Another thing I had requested was for the batteries in my speedometer be replaced. I asked for him to check out my rear breaks. Lastly I asked for him to adjust the gearing so it was a little more on point. It looks like he adjusted the gearing slightly, the front gears shift a little better. It looks like he also cleaned the bike off a little. as part of the tune up he likely greased the bearing points. he also replaced my rear break pads and bled the brakes (hydraulic brakes). He also replaced my chain and bled my front breaks (even though it wasn't needed). Now he didn't replace the batteries in my speedometer, even though I had requested it. It doesn't seem like he did anything with the steering headset as it still jitters when I stop. He did not contact me about bleeding the front breaks which did not need to be bled, there was nothing wrong with the front breaks aside form possibly needing new pads. He did not contact me about my chain being replaced, and now suddenly I cant use the last 2 gears of my rear cassette because either this new chain skips all over the place or the rear shifter was adjusted poorly. worst of all he quoted that the service would be done with in a week, a week and several days later I contacted them and it seems like absolutely nothing was done with my bike. I had contacted him on a Tuesday, I would not get my bike back till that Friday. With my headset still jittering when I stop and now my chain skipping all over the place whether its in 8/9th gear, 16/18th gear, or 24/27th gear, my bike feels less safe than when I took it here. For the safety of bikers I do not believe that the person who worked on my bike should legally be allowed to work on bikes. 9/5/14 Update after a longer ride ive noticed a clear improvement in the jittering of the head set, it does seem like it has been tightened up but may need to be replaced. on the other hand the chain skipping has moved on to just about every gear on my bike so while heading up hill on my way home yesterday i decided to record what i am dealing with: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jPG3muA42u4 read more

My wife and I traveled to New Hope yesterday to ride the canal trail. We were all set to start out only to find I had an issue with my bike that needed instant repair to continue on with our planned day. We are not from the area so, went online and found this shop was less than a mile away...we reloaded our bikes and drove up to the shop to see if they might be able to help. I regret not getting the employees name but, he quickly diagnosed the problem, had the parts on scene and within 20 minutes, had us on our way back to the trail and able to enjoy the perfect day it was. I went here because I needed only a helmet as I brought a bike for a friend and forgot an extra helmet. Person at the shop adjusted a helmet, made sure it functioned, gave to me on the honor system that I would return it the next day. A real, community bike shop.
