They can tell that I want more numbing "stuff" before I even say anything because they've paid attention to the light shifts in my body. Since this is my first review, I wanted everyone to have insight into how this company operates. July 1, 2025: I searched online for a place where I could get my dental work done quickly, and I found New Hope Dentist through Open Care. They let me in the following day, which is difficult to find in most places, even the one I've been going to for more than ten years. When I visited on July 2, 2025, they told me I needed a crown. I spent $937 out of cash after insurance for my last molar, and the procedure was quite unpleasant since they kept choking me. They also stated I could need a night guard, which I was okay with, so I paid $202 after insurance as well. They then take a picture, scan my teeth, and do an X-ray. According to the dentist, all of those scans may be used for making a night guard. The follow-up is scheduled for July 28, 2025, when I will pick up my night guard and have the permanent crown placed on. On July 28, 2025, I went to get my crown put on, and the dentist made a hygienist x-ray and possibly a scan as well, but you can see a ton of pictures of my teeth. She then told me that I needed another crown, fillings, and a deep cleaning. I've never heard of deep cleaning, especially since I've been getting cleanings twice a year and brush and floss my teeth every day. I know I probably need a cleaning because the dentist didn't do a good job cleaning my teeth when I had veneers in June. The man then gave me a list of the things I needed to get it done, totaling almost $3k or maybe more since he didn't provide me a copy. I was shocked to see how much money it was. When I questioned him if my insurance covered it at all, he replied that it did, but that you would have to pay full price for the crown because your insurance only covered the last one. I don't remember if he asked me to sign, but every dentist office I visited, both for adults and kids, would print a copy for me to view. However, this one didn't, and I didn't receive any receipts for the crown and night guard I paid for on July 2. I unintentionally scheduled an appointment with them to put another crown on August 6 and August 13 after they showed me what I needed to do. Additionally, even though I called them on July 27, 2025, to confirm the appointment and pick up the night guard, they still failed to provide it to me. On August 1, 2025 (I don't remember the exact date), I arrived in the hopes of picking up my night guard, which I believed was ready because it had been a month. After they had me sitting for a while, the staff called for me to go back inside. The night guard was due to be available on July 28th, so I was confused and wondered why I had to do another scan especially it's only upper part, if they would wait for me to put my permanent crown on first but it has nothing to do with it since it's lower part. They indicated they hadn't placed the order yet; I wasn't sure why. They then scan once more time at my teeth, ordered it, and told me that I will be contacted when it arrived on August 8, 2025. On August 5, 2025, I called and spoke with the same person to cancel all of my appointments because I recently learned that my ex had taken me off of his insurance. When I call, he told me immediately that my insurance has been terminated since July 6, 2025, which I was unaware of when my ex-partner canceled my policy. I talked to my ex because I wanted to ask why the insurance wouldn't cover much at all of those lists that this place quoted me, and he replied that I didn't have insurance and that if I did, it should cover half of it for procedures like that. If that is the case, why did that man (the front desk) not speak with me and explain things to me on July 28, 2025? He should have checked with my insurance before providing me with a quote, but instead he told me that my insurance did not cover the second crown or deep cleaning. Over $3k, he shows me the plan. It's odd because when I phoned him today, he told me that they had a payment plan and that you have to finish it as soon as possible. No, I replied. If I didn't have insurance, I could pay the whole amount and wouldn't require that payment plan. August 8, 2025, I never receive a call from anyone for me to pick up my night guard. Looks like they deleted my first review which is understandable considering the experience I've had with them, but it's time for an update. To recap my previous one - I hadn't been to the dentist in years due to a lack of money & insurance before I went to new hope. I was made fun of by the dentist about my teeth and told I needed an extensive amount of fillings done. I was there for a regular cleaning, and told I would benefit from some add on. I declined the add on because it would have cost extra and I wasn't prepared to pay. After my cleaning, I was informed they did perform the extra service against my wishes. Which I'm pretty sure is ILLEGAL? If I decline a medical service it should not be done, period. Fast forward months later the dentist doesn't stop calling me to book my next treatment and to pay for the service I declined. Yeah, no. Fast forward to now, I went somewhere else and was told I only needed 2 fillings rather than the extensive amount I was told by new hope. I was quoted a total of $200 for everything by my new dentist - new hope wanted to charge me about $800. DO NOT RECCOMEND! They are scammers. read more

My visit to New Hope Dentist was fairly pleasant for an initial exam, cleaning and impromptu filling. Check in was a breeze as I was the first patient of the day, but I was having a difficult morning and the length of having to sit through X-ray shot after shot was such a lengthy ordeal and being prodded and handled every which way to get the shots was a bummer. I was not expecting this visit to take over 2 hours and it was something that knocked out my entire work morning which I did not prepare for. My previous dentist in the arboretum was a bit more quick to help me through the motions so this was taking me back a bit. Navigating my X-rays, there was a mention from the dental assistant that I grind my teeth and then lots of talk about an immediate treatment plan. I've been pretty well versed with dentist visits as I've had quite a bit of work done with various dentists around the greater Austin area and it was just a bit pushy to feel like there was a plan right away to get started with. Also with grinding my teeth, a slight nudge to trying to convince me to say yes to a pricy mouth guard but past dentists if they have mentioned this have shared it's an easy solution with picking one up from Amazon to protect the mouth. Dr. Andrew Davis was my visit through Opencare as they have mentioned they are great at finding great dentists in the area. His service was very well done, fillings and deep cleanings handled efficiently. I did not have complaints about the parking lot, very abundant though could be cozy depending on time of day. I will say they could do a better job of stating what is and what is not covered, just to be more candid and matter of fact as I did not realize fluoride would be a $25 cost. All other dentists I've visited in the past have included that in my visit for free, with a berry flavor tasting and gifted me a little nice travel toothbrush and floss kit which I love to throw in my travel luggage. I've also missed the headphones with your own specific Spotify playlist but that's not a big ordeal during the pandemic. I'm on the fence but I like the proximity since I'm local to CP now but would appreciate the freedom of having later week and weekend appointments due to a working life and baby care. read more

I was first super hesitant about going to the dentist but my company provides a pretty nice insurance benefit. So I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Z, there was almost no wait for any of my appointments and I was able to make several follow up appointments with them in a week or two. I voiced out my concerns about the payments and how I have limited savings as a fresh out of college student during the initial visit. The assistant and Dr. Z were super understanding and walked me through a copy of the breakdown quote, including what is being covered by the insurance and what's out of pocket. Dr. Z even managed to handle two of my fillings during the initial visit. She and the assistant were very gentle and professional, and they did all my fillings with no sensitivity issues afterwards despite one of the decay in my tooth was deep. The front desk was transparent and informed me about the payment for extracting my wisdom tooth and that was currently out of my price range, so I would consider coming back to do it when I have the capacity! I would recommend communicate with them about the price beforehand and ask them for a copy of the quote (with insurance coverage breakdown) to ensure no additional cost that are not aware of. I do not recommend New Hope Dentist. I have been here a total of four times - my husband and I are now moving dentists. The old Dentist was pleasant and nice, however they changed dentists with no communication and the new dentist's bedside manner so to speak is terrible. They also charged me for fluoride when I have verified numerous times that insurance covers it, and charged me a deductible when I do not have one - I've reached out NUMEROUS times to them about this and I get no response. UPDATE: Despite the previous problems I went back when I heard there was a new dentist. After several mishaps and problems I decided something wasn't quite right there and requested my xrays and went to a better dentist. Horrifyingly, I found out that the reason my fillings fell out and that first dentist I saw at New Hope could not get them to stay in was that she should never have done them! There wasn't enough tooth to put in fillings - they should have been crowns. As a result, the fillings easily cracked allowing bacteria in. By the time I started having pain and went back to find that yet again there were problems and then found a better dentist, the bacteria had made its way down to the roots of THREE teeth! I now need ROOT CANALS on three teeth, a bunch of crowns and still two fillings. The work will be in the several thousands - between five and ten thousand. Additionally, my new dentist showed me the xrays taken at New Hope and they showed me how the pictures they took cut off the roots so they didn't even bother to evalutate them! And New Hope used one sort of outdated xray whereas my new dentist started with a panaroma machine and then used several new xray forms that were quick, painless, easy, and best of all cost nothing! I saw the pictures they got and the difference was crazy! I believe New Hope gets good reviews because the people are nice and you don't get an in-depth exam so you don't tend to hear anything too hard, but in the end, nice alone doesn't cut it and an exam that isn't thorough can leave you owing thousands in the end. I can find nice people in church. I don't expect to leave a dentist's office with such horrific work that I will end up needing root canals of it! If I could give ZERO stars I would! Original Review: They were very nice but my fillings all fell out within months. They also put in a crown that feels like a small boulder in my mouth. I went to see Dr Rao - I was 1 week away from delivering my second baby, looking for restoring my chipped front tooth. I was amazed - she could see me the next day, wow! There's another thing - Dr Rao was so careful and gentle, that with the minimum amount of sedation I practically fell asleep while she was working on my tooth. Who doesn't want that? I have been avoiding the dentist for almost a decade now and my teeth were in really bad shape. After going to Steve Pridgen at New Hope Dentist that won't be the case moving forward. Such an incredible experience with Steve and his team. They take more than the appropriate steps to keep their patients and staff safe. I called to make an appointment specifically to 1) cleaning and 2) help with upper left corner of my teeth that recently started feeling uncomfortable. I was very specific also to tell that I'd like to minimize my time in the office because of COVID. They asked me to fill in 6 or 7 forms before my visit; in the office, they kept asking me verbally the very same questions I just answered in their questionnaires, such as : what is the purpose of my visit, do I have allergies, what medicine I take, what about my high blood pressure, on and on. I complained twice; I asked 3 times why do they do that as they have all answers already in the computer: I didn't receive v meaningful answer, just "We need to know" (or smth. like that). After I said: Either start doing something with my teeth or I am going to jump off the chair and leave" they started taking X-rays and took no less than 20(!) shots, - although I repeated that I am only interested in the upper left. Some Xrays were very unpleasant, like nothing before in my practice. Finally, a doctor came and said that nothing can be done, I need my tooth extracted and she is going to give me a referral - LOL. She also told me that nobody ever has died from COVID after visiting a dental office. (This means that noone from the 1/2 million dead of COVID has never visited a dental office during the last year: you might believe in this "statistics" if you want to). I had my first appointment last week and it was wonderful. The office is always clean and people are always doing something to ensure the office runs smoothly. Scheduling my first appointing was incredibly easy and took one call. I received excellent care from the staff and the Doctor. I was provided with a great care plan that I'm looking forward to completing the first round of suggestions. My second appointment today weren't amazing. I've never been happier to have people's hands in my mouth. The doctor took extra care and didn't overwork it. I finally visited New Hope Dentist at cedar park this Wednesday and i had an overwhelming experience. I was pretty impressed by their Covid regulations, they asked me to fill up a form outside the clinic and got me in at exact time of the procedure. while i was a little taken aback initially but then got the point. Its for my own safety not making patients sit in close proximity. I met Dr Sravanthi Rao, she was so calm and comforting. she heard me at length with a lot of patience, diagnosed my condition and suggested the remedy. I got her to conduct the procedure. had to remove 3 cavities, do fillings and shape by front tooth. She and her assistants made me feel at ease and the whole procedure was done like a dream. If i could give this place 0 stars, i would. i have had the absolute WORST experience with this office. Due to their poor job of a BABY TOOTH EXTRACTION, i have been suffering from an infection For WEEKS. Infections after extraction are common, yes. But I returned to this office 3 TIMES afterwards due to severe pain and swelling. They constantly gave me the run around, told me it was due to grinding my teeth when really I was starting to get an infection. I had my extraction done on 02/15 and it's 03/12 and I just started my SECOND round of antibiotics because my new dentist cannot seem to get rid of the infection and mentioned that I may have to see an oral surgeon. My infection got so bad that by the time I got into a new dental office, pus and blood were coming from my extraction area due to the infection. And he managed to dig out bone fragments when he finally got the swelling down. They refuse to listen to me when I told them countless times that I was in pain and missed HOURS of work because of this. I will NEVER use this office again nor will I recommend it. Then I asked them to work with me regarding some sort of compensation due to my pain and suffering for more than 3 weeks, my missed work hours, the gas I used to drive 40 min more than once to return to the office due to pain, the chiropractic visit I had to go to in order to relieve the pain and swelling of my jaw due to it being out of place, the sleepless nights, the days I couldn't even eat, the money I have spent on OTC pain meds PLUS the pain meds I had to ask them to give me because they did not give me any sort of medication after yanking my tooth out. The cost of seeing a new dentist. The cost of having to pay for antibiotics and then ANOTHER round of antibiotics after that.
