"It's the same old story, same old song and dance" (Aerosmith) The last time I walked into this restaurant, it wasn't named Kebab House, it was named Desi Zaiqa. It sure looks the same - same exterior (but with a new sign), same interior green paint job and brown paneling (but with some new paintings on the wall), same shower curtain dividing the dining room from the rear storage area, and a pretty similar menu. The food at Desi Zaiqa was great, and I'm happy to say the food at the Kebab House is just as good. Seriously good. I had a chicken kebab appetizer ($4 for 2 pieces), an order of Chicken Jelfrezi ($13) "Boneless chicken gently cooked with bell peppers, tomatoes, onion & spices", and some plain naan ($2). Every single bite of every single dish was excellent. When I ordered the Jelfrezi, the super friendly server said "our food is pretty spicy, is that OK?". I more or less said "bring it on"! I gotta tell you the Chicken Jelfrezi was outstanding. It came in a very spicy sauce with chicken cubes, vegetables and some kick-ass spices. In s short time, my nose was running and my throat had a slow burn going on. But make no mistake, it was DELICIOUS. The soft and fluffy naan was a perfect accompaniment to scoop up that awesome sauce. And I don't want to forget the chicken kebabs -spiced ground chicken cooked on a skewer like a big tube, it was very different and very delicious. Lots of nice touches here -from the complimentary dinner salad and the individual carafe of ice water (another deja vu moment from Desi Zaiqua). The Kebab House will offer you super friendly and polite service, as well as excellent food reasonably priced. I've driven by this place quite a few times, they must be either reopened or under new ownership as I had never been able to place an order until today. (5/11/23) Ordering online was easy. I ordered the Palak Panner and the plain Naan. The rice does NOT come with the meal, you need to add that to your order. It was a little more oily looking than I've had in the past, but it was good. A little bit of spice to it, just enough. ( I ordered mild ) Naan was great. I'd try some more dishes but I would not dine in. read more

I was intimidated by this place at first, but they are so awesome there! The man who greeted us and took our order was friendly and helpful. And the food.. the Food is spectacularly. Not the typical Indian food I was used to but I fell in love after my first visit. I haven't had one bad thing there yet. Go here. Get the sesame naan if they have it. When we entered the interiors kooker shabby. The lady was friendly and ber husband was straightforward. I saw many online and call orders as well as many pick up guys coming for their food. When we sat and ordered appetizers, the husband asked us if you would like to take it as takeaway as it will be 30-40% cheaper. We agreed and he indeed was right. We have saved 7$ when we opeted for take away. We took 4 chicken seekh kebabs and 2 veg samosas!! I had no high hopes with the food but delicious delicious delicious. The chicken was succulent and soft, packing was good. The samosas were apt and upto the standard. We will go there again. Some days later We tried Chicken Biryani, Chicken Korma and Butter Naan.. chicken korma was very very average.. chicken biryani was a big disappointment (13$ for nothing) - i make better biryani than it.. naan was fine!! We tried many dishes here, as it was a pitstop and everyone was hungry. The food takes a very long time to come out, and the service is very slow. It is one guy working and making it all happen it seems. the food is OK and the prices could be better it's on the heavier side. If I were in the neighborhood would I stop by, probably not. Excellent Chicken Tikka Masala with Naan. Fast service once our order was taken. However, it took a while to get the attention of someone to seat us. This is a ridiculous place, we ordered for three biryanis to go and one of my friends was thirsty and asked for some TAP water to drink. The guy said NO and saying they only serve water for dine ins only! And we need to buy one bottle saying thats their policy and thats what all restaurants do comparing themselves with chilis !! If I could give this place more than 5 stars I would - there are a couple of main Pakistani/Indian restaurants in Connecticut but this one exceeds all of them. The service, the staff and the food are beyond words! I have never had more authentic, and truly flavorful Pakistani food anywhere else. If you are familiar with the DMV area, I would compare this place to Ravi Kabob. Kebab House's barbecue is incredibly seasoned and flavorful - must try a mixed grill! Their naan, Haleem, bhindi, and nihari are amazing. I can't wait to go back and try more things! This is not an authentic Pakistani/ indian restaurant. Nothing they sell is delicious. Rus malai is so sweet that you cannot tell if you are drinking a syrup. Barbeque is super spicy and non tender, wastage of money and food. Never going there again. Very disappointed read more

This is just an average place. The person who served is really nice and nan is really good - soft and topped with butter. And for that they earn 3 stars. The food has a lot of spices but no flavor. I think they have confused more spices with flavor which in my opinion is not true. They need to reevaluate each of their dish (I have had both, mutton and chicken karahi, chicken behari boti and mix bbq special. Everything well below average - like I said, no flavor. I travel for work and when I am back in Hartford, I will try some place else. read more

Omg! Best place for biryani to go! Must have. The spice is perfect the portion is large I eat small portions so I usually make two meals out of it! To go biryani is around $6! Not for the faint of heat. I told the waitress this was my first time tring this try of food and asked if the chicken kabods were good. When she brought them out there were only 4 kabobs and no sides. The plain rice had to be bought seperate. When the rice came out it was spicier than the kabobs. HEAT UPON HEAT UPON HEAT. So.. I'm on the fence with this place. First time we ordered they gave us free bread and were super nice when we picked up our order. Second time we ordered they literally had nothing on their menu and suggested random things that were not even listed.. third time the same thing happened. Again.. did not have what we tried ordering off their menu ON THEIR WEBSITE. It tastes good and has a decent portion size with mediocre prices.. but the meals don't include rice. So I guess the prices aren't great since that's the case..SIDE NOTE: I like spicy food but anyone that is sensitive to it as a WARNING.. they make their food with a big kick!!
