Shouldn't even give it one star. Everything that I ordered and picked up was not edible. It was either bland, no taste whatsoever. Soup, egg rolls, string beans so stringy. Ribs were horrendous. The rice was overcooked. Even the fortune cookies was stale. Won't be back. Save you money. read more

The pepper steak was so tasty, generous portion of steak with perfectly enough peppers and onions, the sauce is ample to mix with the rice.

I recently moved the nassau county and I have yet to find wonton soup that compares to New Ming! Miss ordering from them! I'd also reccomend their fried cheese wontons, steamed dumplings, and sesame chicken! read more

My company is a six minute drive away from this restaurant. I preordered at 10:45am. I scheduled the delivery to arrive at 11:45am for my lunch break. I called them several times and ass told my delivery was on the way. It finally arrived at 12:45pm! My lunch break was over! Plus they forgot my soup which was redelivered to me at 2:00pm. Ordered delivery last night...they were much faster than the 30mins they said and we ordered a little late...9:30pm. They close at 10pm, but were very accommodating. We ordered the chicken with string beans combo in garlic sauce, an order of dim sum, and an order of wontons in sesame sauce. The chicken with string beans was delicious. Sauce was tasty and flavorful, the rice had chucks of roast pork and veggies in it...the egg roll was good. The dim sum came in broth, which I never had like that before, but definitely an interesting take. The broth was good and the dim sum were overstuffed...the meat could've been a little more tender, but being in the broth helped. The wontons were a hit for my boyfriend. He loves cold noodles with sesame sauce, so this was an innovative take on it and the sauce was thick and creamy, and the wontons were big and made very well...they provided very tasty food items and if I'm in the area I would absolutely order from them again! read more

The menu and sign out front call it the "New Ming Restaurant." It's just up the block from the Hilton Garden Inn in a small strip mall and the nearest cross street is 6th St. When traveling nearby and flying out of the Islip airport, there is a small Chinese take-away that I have visited over the years. Though not much to look at-just a large counter to place your order, some drink refrigerator cases and the kitchen cooks are right behind the register manning the woks. The steamed dumplings (pot stickers) are nice and plump and at $4.50 for eight pieces are a real bargain. They come with a nice garlicky soy and ginger dipping sauce that will keep your tummy happy after a long flight. Always one of my favorites. Numerous dishes listed (over 150 items) that are cooked to order fresh-no warming tables here. I've had several of the entrees (average price between $5 to $10 dollars for a meat and veggie saute-with the priciest items topping out at $12 for "lobster foo young" or "scallops with beef." Combination plates also include soup, an egg roll, or a can of soda f you wish for about $7-$8 for things like Chow Fun, Lo Mein, Beef and Broccoli, etc.) I didn't order the barbecued spare ribs, but they looked really delicious and priced at $6 for a small order and $11 for a large they are a bargain. They do have an adjacent "dining room" but I think that the table service is only during the lunch hour. The parking lot looks a bit scary and if you blink you may drive right by it-but check it out and you might find that it fits the bill for a quick meal or take away for your hotel. Grabbed some take-out from here yesterday. I thought it was good, nice medley of veggies, wasn't just all bok choy like many places serve you. I asked for no MSG and was pretty satisfied. Got a pint of mixed veggies and brown rice. Veggies were crisp and there was plenty of left overs. Pretty standard Chinese take-out place, but let's be honest, I've had some pretty rank Chinese food in my travels and this stuff is definitely good. It was packed even during the snow storm. Actually the worst Chinese food I have ever had. I gave it two stars only because the staff seemed friendly enough, but the dumplings were expensive and tasteless. Hot tea costs extra, and the wait was pretty long. If I hadn't spent so much on it, I would have thrown the whole thing out after one bite... even if it meant not having any lunch. Definitely not great Chinese takeout. I ordered the egg fried rice & chicken wings. The rice was hard & flavorless (thanks for saving it hot sauce) and the wings were small and fried in old oil. What a disappointment. I was looking forward to eating and now I'm left wanting. read more

This place used to be my favorite Chinese takeout restaurant for many years. Then, less than a year ago, I think it changed hands again. My wife and I both got sick, not once, but twice from their food. Never, never again for us. The people there are very nice, but that's just not enough. . Yuck. I hope they got better, but I won't chance it anymore. read more

I hate to give this place a bad review because the food is actually good. However, I have gotten sick at least 3 times from eating here. Every time I would try to pin the blame on something else I ate, but by the third time I was certain. It's a shame because this place is right by my job and is pretty cheap. read more
