I tried having lunch there twice in about two weeks. The first time we sat outside. my food was boxed to go despite being told they would bring it to us. The food, ofcourse, was very cold on the first visit. The second time I was curious how long this was going to take. We sat inside and were promised that they would bring us our food. After 30 minutes and two trips to the counter asking for food, it finally arrived. It was not particularly warm. Not fresh off the grill. The food was acceptable but not for the amount of time we had to wait. The price was OK. But again not for the amount of time we had to wait. Some like the hipster vibe. I don't recommend this place. The food took a very long time. We finally got it and it's pretty bad. We got a crab bisque and it was more like a pepper soup with a pudding consistency. We traded it for the chicken noodle thinking that was safer but it was flavorless and just as bad. The staff wasn't the best. While we were waiting the 25 mins for our food we saw a few people just standing there--literally scratching their head and fiddling with their masks without washing hands. Also, ones person shirt was filthy. I was hoping she wasn't handling our food. The smoothie wasn't bad but that's the only decent part. Also, when you step inside, don't look up. We came here to grab a quick bite when we couldn't get a parking spot at La Parisienne. It's an order at the window type place, and there is outdoor seating (a good amount). I got an egg croissant, and WOW it blew my mind!! I am really picky about croissants, and this one was soft, not burnt, buttery, and very tasty. My boyfriend got the Lumberjack breakfast which looked like a decent portion size and he said it was good. It didn't take long until it was brought out to us. There were lots of pastries in the window that looked absolutely delicious. I was very impressed with the taste and quality of the food and surely will visit again next time I'm in Aiken! read more

My first visit to New Moon Cafe was great! I had a smoked salmon bagel with cream cheese and onions, and it was delicious. My second visit was a real disappointment. I ordered the same smoked lox and bagels again. A very thin layer of cream cheese with one equally thin slice of smoked salmon. I'm thinking that there needs to be consistency within the kitchen otherwise, there will be a lot more unhappy patrons.... read more

This is my favorite restaurant in Aiken. The vibes are chill and the food is tasty! I don't drink coffee but all of my friends really enjoy their homemade blends. They have daily specials and are always switching up the menu. There is inside and outside seating. I always eat here when I'm in town. I would recommend the Colbert and crab bisque : ) read more

Hands down, the BEST coffee in town! The food is pretty great as well. If you are near the downtown area for breakfast, this place should be one of the tips on your list. Some of our faves are: any of the coffee, avocado toast, any of the scrambles and wraps, and the green monster :) Be prepared for a line though as this is a local hot spot. read more

It gets two stars because the grits were really good. Now onto the real reason why am writing this review. I had smoked salmon bagel for breakfast. The fish was almost nonexistent; a couple of very thin pieces. The worst part of it was that it was smoked salmon was NOT FRESH at all! It was like licking the bottom of a fish tank. I ordered toast extra with my bowl and got two large pieces of toasted sour dough. Sweet! Cafe is very popular with locals. Busy at 9 AM, but not chokingly so. Their menu is quite large offering a variety of coffees and smoothies. Easy atmosphere with local art on the walls. Tables on the sidewalk out front for the"outdoors" type. Cafe is easy to find. Waited one hour in line to order and received my food about 35 minutes after ordering. Ordered a hot chocolate, scramble egg bowl, and toasted white bread on a side. The chocolate tasted like old chocolate syrup. The white bread tasted like fish (I think it was toasted together with a tuna sandwich). The scrambled egg was okay.
