New Optix is awesome. I came here after ditching Gordon Schanzlin Vision due to their poor customer service and more importantly poor hand hygiene. Dr. Tran is really knowledgeable and the staff is always helpful. This was the third year I've been going here and they always make it easy to schedule an appointment with their convenient hours. They always seem to run on time which is an added bonus. He also has excellent hand hygiene and every year when I get my contact lens prescription renewed he lets me test out a fresh pair of lenses for free. :) Dr. Tran really takes the time to get to know you and your personal interests in the 20 minute visit I have every year and he must take notes on it or have an elephant memory because he asks how those things are going the next year when you come in. My boyfriend lost his glasses in the ocean and did not have replacement so we called as kind of an emergency 5 minutes before they closed. Thankfully Anne picked up and I explained to her the situation and she was able to fit him in first thing the next morning! We get there early and enjoyed green tea in their clean and open office. The front desk girls were really nice, helpful and knowledgable with our many questions about pricing. His appointment did not take long and he walked out with a trial pair contacts. He is extremely satisfied with his contacts and mentioned that he has never seen this clearly before proving that Dr. Tran definitely knows what he is doing! read more

It was my first time at New Optix Optometry. I really enjoyed the extra attention and excellent customer service with the 2 cancellations they had that day. How many staff persons are needed to help one customer? Four. One person to help me with the paperwork, one person to do my pre-exams, one person to teach me how to put on and take off my new contact lens, and the most important person, Dr. Tran, to tell me my prescription has gone down from -350 to -250! Whoo! 2 hours and 15 minutes later I walk out of the office with the works. I got 1 pair of eye glasses, 1 pair of sun glasses, and contact lens fitting all for an awesome bargain! read more

The customer service is amazing. The girls are always smiling, ready to help you if you need them. They are never pushy or try to steer you to the higher, more expensive glasses. They seem to genuinely care about your interest. You can pretty much find all high end brand name glasses/sunglasses here, and if you don't see the model you're looking for just bring in the model number and they will order it for you at the lowest cost. The Dr.s are so patient and precise and caring. Their whole staff is just perfect. I have never raved so much about an optometry before in my life, but you've got to experience them yourself. Came here for my annual eye exam/ to update my contact lens prescription. They're thorough and answered all my questions, even little ones like about the redness in my eye. They explained everything with the most layman terms they knew, and it made sense to me! They were friendly, which goes a long way. They carry trials of odd lenses (aka astigmatism lenses that are difficult to correct like mine). I came in again after about 2 weeks to give feedback about how the trials were working. They took everything into consideration and gave me another pair of trials, which are working great! Overall, they know what they're doing and I have no fear referring people here because I only they'll get quality care. I found this place on yelp after getting my prescription from my kaiser optometrist. The girl at the front was very welcoming and helped me without being too overbearing like other places. I bought a pair of prescription glasses and got a discount for being a new customer. A couple months later I went back because I had scratched one of my lenses. They fixed it within one day. I only wear glasses at night when I take out my contacts, and these glasses started to slip off my face after using them for a couple months (I don't really have a bridge on my nose). They were able to bend the frames and now they fit perfectly again. Best customer service and very friendly. read more

Came in to get my eyes dilated and retinal photo because at my rx for glasses and contacts were no longer working and I had just gotten them in December from another place. I was getting frustrated that I could no longer see after only less than a year of getting the previous rx. I made an appointment to see Dr. Tran through a friends recommendation and I am very glad that I did! Dr. Tran was very professional and he explained very clearly why my previous prescription was not working for my eyes, and he broke down how my retinal photos looked (which were very great per Dr. Tran). The staff there are all so wonderful and professional as well! They greet you with a smile and make sure to answer any questions you may have and are very friendly. I also love his fish tank since I'm into marine life as well. I left with a new prescription for my contact lens and glasses, I could not be happier! I actually just picked up my new glasses yesterday, and they are perfect. I love that I can finally see again. I do not think that I have ever seen this clear before! 11/10 will keep coming again. Great place! Dr. Tran's exam was the most thorough eye exam I've had and Ann and the other front iffice staff were so helpful and patient. I never felt rushed throughout the entire visit. I came here during my lunch break because it was a convenient location. I filled out the paper work online and when I arrived the receptionist asked me to fill out paper work. I let her know I had already filled it out and then she told me that the online forms did not work. Um then why even provide a link online that does not work? I was definitely irritatted and half assed the one she gave me after I had already spent time doing it prior. I sat in the waiting room to be called back, the office itself is very nice. Very modern, looked clean etc. I was taken back for some pre eye exam testing. The girl who took me back was nice but I felt she had NO idea what she was doing. She continuously looked at the computer, she tried to do a test on me where I see a squiggly line then push a button over 5x till I finally was like I'm done doing this and she was like Lets try again... Um no we've tried this one too many times my eyes were watering and I was definitely irritatted. She said many dumb comments even called herself ignorant which was like um okay..... I have been wearing glasses since 1998 so a long time I've have many exams but none took as long doing the pre stuff than this one. I am giving the 4 stars because of the Doctor. He was nice and informative and I really liked him. Maybe his staff was new, I have no idea but I would definitely better train them. read more

I almost never write reviews but (after some bad reviews of my prior optometrist I knew it was time to find a new one), since I had a great experience I had to write one. I researched all of the options available through my program and am glad I relied on prior Yelp reviews. Everyone here is patient, helpful, and are not here to sell you on anything. I dealt most with Stephanie and never once did I feel that my indecisiveness in picking a pair of frames was irritating her or a problem for her. The prices are reasonable. They have some lower priced frames up to the name brand designers. On top of that service, both of the optometrists I saw (had to come back for contact fitting) were nice, patient, and spent time with me. I would highly recommend! read more

I'm new to San Diego and was looking for a really good optometrist since I have some unique issues with my eyes. After reading the reviews on here for New Optix and getting a recommendation from a coworker, I decided to give them a try. I couldn't be happier! The office itself is really nice and has an aquarium that both doctors personally maintain because they love it so much. The receptionists are super nice. As for the doctors, I saw Dr. Le and he was awesome. He was patient and really took his time to help me. He also did a great job of explaining everything to me.
