The quality of care here is the best my family has ever experienced in a skilled nursing facility. The staff is attentive and caring. The food is surprisingly good in options, flavor, and execution. The physical therapy group is outstanding! Excellent physical and occupational therapy provided during my husband's recovery. It is still a skilled nursing facility not a resort but for quality care and above average experience it is great. The only drawback is the lack of visitor parking. There are literally only a dozen spaces in the property. read more

In over 50 years of being a hairdresser I have never seen matting this bad in a human. My client who has long hair, has been coming to me for almost 30 years, once a week for hair care and braids. She has now been in a nursing home in Orange, CA. , for about three months, New Orange Hills Skilled Nursing, Rehabilitation Therapy, Her family has provided extra money for her hair care. I sent over special shampoo and detanglers. I was asked to cut her hair because it was matted in the back. I expected a matt like a 50 cent size or a little larger. I have cut out matts in patients before but what I witnessed today was shocking. This is what I encountered. I am so sad and appalled with the hospital staff that let it get this bad. I cut off 2 feet of her hair in the back down to the scalp. There was no saving it. I have been involved with rescue dogs and have seen some bad matts but this was a person!!! read more

I ll begin this review by saying I didn't do it while my mother was a resident because I did not want to take a chance on any kick back. You don't ever know for sure. My mother passed away here, and during the times I visited, I hated it. Help was inconsistent, I had to go to the hall to fight tears. I would not put anyone in my care here. This is probably not the worst in Orange. It was very very full. The decision to come here was based on availability and how it would be paid for. Managed by her express wishes before she was bedridden. And , She was here at least a year. Today is the date of her passing. RIP Mother. read more

Recently, I was atcthis facility for 18 days. All nurses are professional, kind and helpful. I was in a bad shape with herrianted disc and in very severe pain. I can tell they took care of me in the best way. in my opinion their physical therapists are the best, knowledgable and kind. The 2 physical therapists I really want to sincerely thank them, Melisa Quan and Tashi Bhutia. They went above and beyond the call of duty to get me walking again. My loved one called 26 times in 6 hours to say he was in horrendous pain and could get no one to answer him. I was told the man next to my loved one, separated only by a curtain had vomited and sat it in for an extended period of time. I can't be sure, but my loved one believes that person was homeless. This is no way to treat a veteran, and servant to the people that spent his life helping others. This place makes me sick. I know this pandemic is hard, but there is no excuse for treating a human being with no dignity or respect. read more

Beware of this facility. My mother went into respiratory failure after she was transferred to this facility to recover from pneumonia. First, upon transferring from Placentia Linda Hospital, New Orange Hills did not have any of the required medication that my mother needed for her pneumonia as well as her State 4 COPD. As a result of failing to provide the required medications, my mother went into respiratory failure and passed away four days later at St Joseph Hospital in Orange due to the lack of treatment from New Orange Hills. So beware of this facility. read more

the nursing staff doesn't really check on patients beyond the basics. all my request were brushed off. I told them about her chronic uti infections. after a few weeks of complaining about certain shmptoms. I was reassured she was fine. now she's been released and reeks of ammonia. now I'm taking her back to a real hospital read more

New orange hills left us with a good experience. Starting from the patient care that's given to us from the CNA's to the helpful LVN's and RN's and even the administrator. Throughout the whole experience when there was a problem they were quickly to respond to any issues we had and did it with ease. I'm very blessed my loved one had stayed here because they cared for her as like they were her family. Thank you New Orange Hills for the great experience. Thank you Nicole for providing fun activities for the patients to do. Thank you Daisy for being helpful at the desk whenever we needed it and thank you Jim for making us feel very at home and keeping at ease whenever we needed it. New Orange Hills is a good place to rehabilitate after a injury resulting from a fall, surgery or other medical procedure or condition. I've had several friends stay at New Orange Hills after a visit to the Hospital. Medicare will usually cover a majority of the cost. I found the Staff to be experienced, empathic. I found Zoriah and Rebecca in Social Services to be extremely helpful with questions and concerns. Prior to selecting this facility, I evaluated four other expert facilities, and I am extremely satisfied with my selection. LVN Bree, your assistance in ensuring my aunt's comfort and confidence that she is in capable hands were greatly appreciated. In addition, my experience as a medical assistant concurs that the quality of care delivered was exemplary. This facility nearly killed my father with their complete lack of care! I went to visit my father during covid and was refused entry. While there, I went to check with his PT. Upon discovering they were not doing his PT we went to his room together . We found my father in a badly dehydrated and disgustingly filthy. I could see the panic on the physical therapists face and he rushed out of the room and grabbed the head nurse. Upon arrival the nurse also recognized he was severely dehydrated and immediately started giving him the water he clearly could not give himself. She then grabbed another person to clean up my father. I had a long talk (about 30 minutes) with that nurse about what was observed, lack of care and what I could see needed to be fixed. My father was transferred to a hospital with FIVE infections shortly thereafter. Needless to say he was not returned there. If you love someone dont let them end up here. If you want to see a slow painful death.... This might be the place. read more

i would love to say, first, this rehab facility is the most cutest and most professional settings i've ever been, for every holiday, they make sure every nurses and staff cooperates with the holiday, in addition to the patients! i love the administrator, the nurses, shoutout to the CNAs they truly are the heros and do all the physical duties. Clean facility, nice and clean bathrooms and very nice/caring people. i would definitely would want my parents, friends or other family to attend her, because i know these people would take very good care of them, treating the patients and the facility like their second home and family. read more

My grandpa was a patient in this facility for an over 8 months and in every visit he seemed to get better and better. He told me that the nurses were very caring and always making sure he was okay. Nurses would check in frequently and made him feel loved and that made me happy because not all facilities care for their patients as much as New Orange Hills does. I loved it here, the nurses were excellent with my mother and took the best care with her. Initially it is an unsettling feeling leaving a family member but the nursing staff ensured me everything was fine and communicated with me when i had any questions. They are the reason my mother got the best care. The billing department assisted with every insurance question i had and ensure i understood the process. I do not wish my mother has to go through this process again but if she does it undoubtedly will be with new orange hills. read more

It is so important that the patients receive the treatment and therapy that is ordered by the doctors. Going into a patient's room and finding that here she is asleep and then saying I'll do the services later and never coming back is unacceptable. People don't have to just go there to die. They should be given treatment to see if they can get better. read more

My brother recently was at this facility for 2 weeks for care after a hip replacement surgery. He is diabetic and was never truly on a diabetic diet (given fruit, pudding, heavy carb meals, ice cream, apple juice) and the checking of his glucose levels was not consistent ... more than once his blood sugar spiked above 400 and also at other times bottomed out into the 40-50's. The nursing staff was inconsistent in checking his blood and not well versed in administering the correct dosage and times for insulin. The facility does not look clean. The individual rooms are cramped. When the other patient had diarrhea on the bathroom and shower floors it took many hours for it to be cleaned up. The case manager went on vacation and except for family pursuing the day and time of discharge, we were clueless. The surgeon's office attempted many times to contact the facility to schedule a post op visit and calls were dropped or never returned. Medications were sent home but one of the meds was "shorted" meaning it never came home. When calling the facility there were many times when the main phone just rang and rang. Poorly managed and poorly run ... nurses/CNA's eating at the nurses station and taking forever to respond to being called. I would not recommend this facility at all! read more

The staff at New Orange Hills has been extremely helpful and managed to improve the status of my elder friend/coach/mentor Mollie from unstable and incoherent to stable and aware. We are now able to make arrangements for her to return to home care. To all of us who care for Mollie, this is a huge win. I'd like to give a huge thank you the many nurses, care givers, and desk staff, who are working hard under challenging covid conditions. Leticia (guest relations and activities) and Rebecca (social services) have been amazing partners to help us through this process. My loved one stayed for 2 weeks, which was considered a bad time. Place doesn't look clean. My husbands roommate was allowed to watch t.v. late at night and play his radio all day loudly. Room was very cramped and always looked dirty. Didn't get much rest. Nurses were not very attentive with the exception of two nurses. Took forever to get my husband help when he needed it. Thank God we found another place in Fullerton that exceeded our expectation. read more

One of the best healthcare facilities I visited around the area. They have great and excellent nursing, rehab, and respiratory staff who are caring and always go beyond their call of duty. KUDOS to all these heroes who stayed by our loveones bedside throughout this whole pandemic. I saw how they cared for the patients, tended to their needs, and be available for them emotionally when their loveones are beyond physical reach. I witnessed their dedication in providing excellent service and be "HEROES" to our loveones. Management and leadership also have improved superlatively and they are very much involved in creating personalized care for each patient. I would personally say that the facility has improved their quality of care exponentially within the past two years, not to mention the physical and aesthetic improvement of the building itself. read more

I am surprised by the bad experiences here. My grandmother was a patient at this facility for over a year and I truly believe they extended her life. From the case managers to the nurses, everyone was attentive and caring. I think the key for our family is that we were present and friendly with everyone. The hospital is in poor condition and they honestly do not care about being humane here. My father has been staying here and he's non verbal whenever I'm here I see no cna or nurse coming to check on him wether I'm here for two or three hours that's ridiculous. I've been pressing the call light since 3:40 for someone to clean him up and someone one will pop in turn off the call light and say they will send someone and it's currently 5:30 and still no one. My great aunt recently had a stroke and my family was totally stressed and lost. We had no idea where to start or what move to make. The doctor told us she would need to go to a skilled nursing facility for some rehab before we could take her back home. I was terrified of placing her somewhere and her not getting good care. My family and I are so grateful for Wendy and Madisyn. They made it such an easy transition. They kept us updated on my aunt the entire time she was there. I am so grateful for the tremendous progress she made with the rehab department she is doing so much better than when she was first in the hospital. My 91 year "young" aunt needed rehab in January for a torn rotator cuff. This was my first experience with rehab facilities and was unsure of what was going to transpire. My aunt was transferred late at night, she hadn't eaten and was in pain. It was one of those rainy evenings, so it took longer to get to the facility. Once the paramedics transferred my aunt to her bed, Yely was the first person we met. I told him that she hadn't eaten. He immediately brought her food and beverages. I was put at ease because he was so caring and most importantly made my aunt feel at ease when she was feeling scared and unsure. He took care of my aunt so professionally and respectfully that she was never embarrassed to have Yely care for her no matter what the situation. Yely is an amazing caregiver! Another one of my aunt's amazing caregivers was Rosanna. Rosanna was so gentle, patient yet professional in all she did for my aunt. What a wonderful person and caregiver she is! We appreciated all Yely and Rosanna did in caring for my aunt! Zohra was my aunt's case worker. She was so efficient, professional and so personable. If I had any questions, Zohra would help me find an answer. Zohra was excellent with the patients. She was enthusiastic, energetic yet compassionate. She helped me through the challenges that arose during my aunt's stay at New Orange Hills. Kevin was my aunt's physical therapist. He was so amazingly patient and knowledgeable. Kevin taught my aunt new and safer ways to transfer herself to her wheelchair and helped her get more mobility in her injured shoulder through therapy. This small review does not convey all our heartfelt gratitude that is due this staff. There were many more staff members that were not named but contributed to my aunt's care. Out of all the rehab facilities that I have worked with for my Senior Resisdents I would highly recommend New Orange Hills. Their case manager, Natalie, was very helpful, friendly, and resourceful. She made the transition back home smooth and with ease for our residents. The rehab team did a great job understanding what the patient wanted to achieve and set forth as a goal. The residents mention that they looked forward to going to rehab because of the caring, energetic, and friendly team that made them reach their goal and had great results. read more

They are not very attentive to the patients. One of the aides was very good. Rooms are not real clean.

I recommend this facility to the max! Zohra Ebrahimi is in excellent case worker that went out of her way making sure my mother in law is well taken care off. She is very professional and gets things done in a timely manner. But what impressed me the most is her big heart and she really cares. The rest of the staff is amazing. They all work hard and many times out long hours do to some patients that need some more care. My mother ein law is one of them. She is very confused and agitated. And tents to call for help often. Never they loose patience with her and assist her right away for what ever needs she has. It's a tuff job to care for the elderly and sick. I know because I have experience with the health industry.
