I've visited Pho Golden twice now. Both times, it was fairly empty with one or two other parties. The restaurant is located at the end of a shopping center, and the interior has some traditional decor inside, and it's a very casual setting. They have a few different types of boba on the menu, as well as sodas and alcoholic drinks. The food menu is pretty extensive, with lots of different appetizers, noodles, and more. I enjoyed the Thai tea that I ordered, and it was on the sweeter side if you prefer that. I ordered the chicken pho, which I did enjoy. A medium bowl of pho is around $17, so it can get a bit pricy. The table ordered some appetizers, though some never came out. It was also somewhat difficult to order or ask questions, as there was a bit of a language barrier with the server. read more

We ordered shrimp pho but got meatball. Secondly? The food was horrible. Really really awful. The broth was greasy and tasteless. We've been eating Vietnamese food since Kim Ba's in the 1980's. If you were looking for Vietnamese food, I would highly recommend going elsewhere. I have given this place so many chances and today was the last straw. Every single time that I've been here there's literally no one here, so I'm not sure how it stays open. The customer service is severely lacking in many ways and the food today was not even edible. I walked in at my lunch hour and questioned if they were even open as the interior was semi dark and not a soul was in there. The one lady that I did see working there was on a personal phone call and just pointed, from across the restaurant, towards some booths. I assumed that meant for me to go sit down somewhere over there. She finished her conversation on the phone and brought over a large glass of water with lemon in it. A few minutes later she realized that I didn't have a menu and decided to bring me a menu. I wasn't super hungry, so I just ordered the grilled pork spring rolls. As I was waiting for my order to come out, I decided to go to the bathroom to wash my hands. I wish I had done that before I had ordered because I would've just walked out. When I entered the women's bathroom, most of the lightbulbs were out, so it was difficult to see because it was mostly dark. I propped open the door with my foot since the sink was right there, just to have some light in the bathroom, but when I went to wash my hands, I literally could not do so. Both handles on the hot and cold were absolutely nonexistent on that sink. They appeared to be possibly a remnants of a handle sitting on the side of the sink. I'm not quite sure how the people working here are washing their hands after they use the restroom, but my guess is that they are not. It absolutely horrified me that the bathroom looked like that, and there was no way for anybody to wash their hands. Also, it makes me uncomfortable that none of the Sriracha sauces had proper lids. Having a hole in the lid like that is just asking for things to get into there. Shortly after I returned from the bathroom, my food came out. I took one bite and realized what a huge mistake that order was. The grilled pork inside was 90% gristle and fat. They were the scrawniest spring rolls I have ever had because the only thing inside was fat and lettuce. I've been eating Vietnamese food for over 30 years and these were hands-down the worst spring rolls I have ever seen or tasted. I had about three bites of one spring roll, and just got up, paid my bill, and left. Those three bites of a gristly disgusting spring roll cost almost $11 before tip. I can understand how this establishment has a few specks of bad reviews here and there, but it isn't terrible. When we first walked in no one was tending the host stand. Our waitress just kind of appeared from the back holding up two fingers (to signal a table of two). My date responded yes, to which she then signaled for us to be seated wherever we liked. For dinner my date and I had two large orders of pho and a mango sticky rice dessert to share, which amounted to $36. Everything we ate was excellent. Flavorful, hot, and fresh out the kitchen! AWFUL! Worst customer service. Do not order from them. Plenty of other small business restaurants in the area to support instead. We put in an order for delivery and after an hour waiting we called for an update just to be hung up twice. Ridiculously slow, and then we were told they gave our order to someone else! They don't care about their customers, were rude and made it our fault that they were over an hour late on making an order. As a restaurant and business owner I know first hand how this should have been made right and hanging up on a customer over and over is not it. Our deliver driver got yelled at directly from them as well. DO NOT SUPPORT! Spend your money supporting other worthy restaurants that care about their customers and service. Probably one of the worst pho places Iv ever been to. I'm not sure what's up as Golden usually has high quality for its food but this place was lacking entirely. My friend told me this used to be a really killer Pho joint and I trusted him. We went together and I got the Sesame chicken since I was not in the mood for pho, while he got the Pho. Just to get seated it took us a while to find the actual people who worked here. When seated it then took a while to find them again just to ORDER the food. The chicken came way after he got his pho and it was HORRIBLE. It was dry, it was hard, it had no flavor, it took 25 movements of the jaw to even get it to the point where you could swallow it. It tasted and felt like it was cooking for days. The pho which I tried was bland and overly salty. You could tell they leave it on the burner all day long, if not for days. There is no redeeming quality to this place as the prices are high too. Honestly stay away. read more

They need a three star review because they need to START paying attention. This business is very poor at capturing the correct order over the phone. They often MISS the difference between medium and large. They often MISS requests for extra meat. If you don't check the order when you pick up, there is at least a 50% chance it is wrong. They sometimes charge you for these mistakes even without giving you what you ordered. As soon as I find another nearby option for Pho, I will start ordering there instead. read more

The decor is rich and alive with bamboo hut entrance, welcome good luck arch and living fauna everywhere. Only thing missing here is the waterfall. The waitstaff barely speak English which adds to the feel of authenticity. We ordered the grilled appetizers. Mixed chicken and pork. So delicious and served with fyi rice paper and steaming water to wrap your own rolls. We ordered tendon and rare steak and briskets pho. I had the tendon. Com Tom Nuong Grilled Shrimp Rice Plate ($8.95) * 19S. Kung Pao Spicy Brown Sauce Beef ($10.95) * 7A. Hoanh Thanh Chien (6) Crab Rangoons with Sweet and Sour Sauce ($5.95). The portions were indeed tiny in terms of 6 small shrimp they used in the Grilled Shrimp Rice Plate. Yes the shrimp were grilled, other than that, no flavor what so ever with this dish at all. They "sprinkled" fried shallots and green scallions on the rice. The sauce that comes with it in a separate container, was just a diluted plum sauce. From the Take-Out picture, this dish, comes with Big Green Lettuce, slices of cucumbers, tomatoes, jalapenos, some sprigs of cilantro leaves and carrots. Perhaps I order the wrong dish. *Sad Face Indeed* As for Hubs order of Beef Kung Pao, yet another LETDOWN dish with Major Disappointment. The dish comes with Red Bell Pepper, Cauliflower, Broccoli, Slices of Water Chestnut, sprinkled with Peanuts and Fried Shallots, DRENCHED with the Brown Sauce. Yes, DRENCHED with Brown Sauce. We use to eat here a lot, from the time they first opened. We hadn't been back in a while until tonight. The worst tasting meat in two separate dishes, like it had gone bad! Our order was 4 entrees and 3 sides. I've never returned food before but it was $80 and it was that bad. Nobody ate their entrees and the sides were only tasted to confirm the foul taste. We got the refund but were accused of eating too much and trying to get a free meal. Once I returned home, the lady called our house to tell us we were wrong and they won't ever return money to us again, wow. I've been wanting to try this place out for a bit now and now I wish I would've checked it out earlier. We were immediately greeted and seated with place settings and some very large waters. I ordered the the B8/Vermicelli Medley sans the Shrimp. My order came out without much of a wait and was at the perfect temperature. Not too hot and not too cold, just right for digging in. Everything was well presented and super tasty. And their menu states HH is all day, everyday... which is good because at the end of the menu selections there is a beverage recommendation. I've been avoiding writing a review for this place for a while, but I can't hold off any longer. Let me preface this by saying that PHO IS LIFE. I eat pho easily five times a week, often twice in one day. I quite literally have a bowl of pho tattoo covering the entirety of my chest. 100% serious. Not lying. No exaggeration. Ok, moving on. It infuriates me that Pho Golden is my nearest and easiest pho spot. I've been eating there for three years, everytime hoping that they'll pleasantly surprise me. Well I'm just a damn fool cause it's always unsurprisingly disappointing. Their pho is WAY subpar. Their prices are WAY too high for their quality of food ($10 for a medium, $12 for a large when you're usually looking at about a third less anywhere else). Noodles are always too chewy. You're lucky if you get more than five pieces of meat in your soup. One of the most frustrating parts is that collectively, all of the waitresses hardly speak enough English to take your order. I should be able to say "extra noodles" and have them understand without having to find it on the menu and point to the words. I was a frequent diner at this restraunt for several months and always found there food to have great taste, presentation and freindly ambitious servers. This past Sunday evening me and my spouse had dinner at Pho Golden. We were greated and sat at a table. Or order was taken by our waiter but did not recieve our order in a timely manor. We were never aproached during the course of our meal to ask if we needed anything and the dishes sat at out table for.a long while until a different waitress passed and asked to remove the dishes. In addition, we waited almost 20 minutes for our check. Since a tip is based on service performance, of which we did not recieve, we did not leave a $3.00 tip which is what 18% gratuity would have been. When we left the restaurant, our waiter yelled at us telling us to fuck off and never to return to his restaurant. He concluded by flipping us off. We tried to make contact with John the manager but we never recieved a responce. I will not recomend this restaurant to anyone. read more

Hooray! A pho place finally opened here in Golden. Went by on a Thursday evening for an early-ish dinner, around 5:30, with a couple of friends, one of which had never had pho before. The place was lightly busy, but we were shown a table right away. All of the serving staff were extremely polite, and our waters were filled and refilled constantly. The food itself was pretty delicious. Both pork and shrimp spring rolls had a good taste and were relatively large (about 8" long or so), though I would have almost appreciated them more had they been cut in half to make for easier eating. As it was, it was awkward trying to split them equally for the three of us, especially without a knife. The pho broth is a sweet broth, with a good savory flavor. It's definitely eatable on its own without sriracha or hoisin, but the sriracha does add a nice kick. The been sprouts and basil that could be added were fresh. The noodles and meats in the pho were good, as was the seafood. A couple of downsides though. The food is a bit on the pricy side, about $7 for a small and about $9 for a medium pho, with the boba shakes at about $4 and regular drinks $3 (sodas and such $2). It's a touch pricier than I'd prefer, but I imagine rent is higher here in Golden than say down on Federal. Also, it took a bit longer than I usually experience to get our food after ordering, or at least it seemed that way. I'm usually in and out of a pho place in a half hour or so; this time it took more like an hour. Still, the food was worth the wait, much like Pho Golden itself has been. read more
