The grilled pork was nothing but gristle and fat
    Julie V.

If you were looking for Vietnamese food, I would highly recommend going elsewhere. I have given this place so many chances and today was the last straw. Every single time that I've been here there's literally no one here, so I'm not sure how it stays open. The customer service is severely lacking in many ways and the food today was not even edible. I walked in at my lunch hour and questioned if they were even open as the interior was semi dark and not a soul was in there. The one lady that I did see working there was on a personal phone call and just pointed, from across the restaurant, towards some booths. I assumed that meant for me to go sit down somewhere over there. She finished her conversation on the phone and brought over a large glass of water with lemon in it. A few minutes later she realized that I didn't have a menu and decided to bring me a menu. I wasn't super hungry, so I just ordered the grilled pork spring rolls. As I was waiting for my order to come out, I decided to go to the bathroom to wash my hands. I wish I had done that before I had ordered because I would've just walked out. When I entered the women's bathroom, most of the lightbulbs were out, so it was difficult to see because it was mostly dark. I propped open the door with my foot since the sink was right there, just to have some light in the bathroom, but when I went to wash my hands, I literally could not do so. Both handles on the hot and cold were absolutely nonexistent on that sink. They appeared to be possibly a remnants of a handle sitting on the side of the sink. I'm not quite sure how the people working here are washing their hands after they use the restroom, but my guess is that they are not. It absolutely horrified me that the bathroom looked like that, and there was no way for anybody to wash their hands. Also, it makes me uncomfortable that none of the Sriracha sauces had proper lids. Having a hole in the lid like that is just asking for things to get into there. Shortly after I returned from the bathroom, my food came out. I took one bite and realized what a huge mistake that order was. The grilled pork inside was 90% gristle and fat. They were the scrawniest spring rolls I have ever had because the only thing inside was fat and lettuce. I've been eating Vietnamese food for over 30 years and these were hands-down the worst spring rolls I have ever seen or tasted. I had about three bites of one spring roll, and just got up, paid my bill, and left. Those three bites of a gristly disgusting spring roll cost almost $11 before tip. This place is overpriced, dirty, lacking in normal Vietnamese ingredients for their spring rolls, and an all-around disappointment.

The entry way, host stand on the right.

I can understand how this establishment has a few specks of bad reviews here and there, but it isn't terrible. When we first walked in no one was tending the host stand. Our waitress just kind of appeared from the back holding up two fingers (to signal a table of two). My date responded yes, to which she then signaled for us to be seated wherever we liked. For dinner my date and I had two large orders of pho and a mango sticky rice dessert to share, which amounted to $36. Everything we ate was excellent. Flavorful, hot, and fresh out the kitchen! My waitress was ever so kind, she took it upon herself to even box our leftovers for us. The only snag I experienced was a small language barrier, otherwise I was treated fairly and received good service. I recommend giving this restaurant a shot.

The guy shoot us out even though we were there at nine saying they weren't open until 10 but the sign on the window clearly says 10 PM

There wasn't any indication that it was open so I checked my maps app and it says that they're open -- I think an "open" lighted sign would help draw more customers. Actually, they had an open sign, it just wasn't on for some reason. I walked in and regretted it for a few minutes when I realized I was the only customer there. The waiter was so professional and friendly, I brag to feel at ease. Don't let the outside fool you, the inside is very clean with plenty of seating. They have some Vietnamese and Thai dishes but heard the owners speaking Cantonese so I decided go with Chinese. The crispy duck caught my eye, so I ordered a bowl of steamed rice to go with it. The server brought out a generous serving of duck on a fragrant bed of wok tossed onions and scallions. My expectations for this place weren't high, but I was pleasantly surprised when I bit into the first piece. I'm so glad I ordered the duck. The five-spice and rice wine flavor went perfectly with the wok tossed scallions and onions, it was the perfect level of saltiness. I walked in worried and stumbled out happy. I'll be back soon.

Searching the area, we found a quiet unassuming, in a quiet neighborhood strip mall, simple place. Read the reviews, Hmmm sounds interesting. The Egg Drop soup was EXCELLENT, The Shrimp, well my Aspen devoured after I had one, it was plump - tender and flavorful. The Veggies, this is MY YUM and PLENTIFUL!! Fried rice - not so fried rather a steamed rice with soy, the egg roll was crisp, smaller than others (seems to be the new fashion these days) filled with wonderful veggies. Did I mention the Egg Drop Soup was DELICIOUS!!!! Our Server required being won over- at first, need to win her over with some compliments, then she smiled and giggled. This was LUNCH menu and it is plentiful and reasonable cost! The place is very clean and ample seating. Meals come quickly, be prepared. No outside seating, and it's a chilly October day. Starting with the better items, the sesame shrimp was decent. The breading was a little unusual, but it had good flavor. Still, nothing that really stood out. The crab rangoons were also just okay. They were labeled as crabmeat cheese rangoon's, but after eating a few, it was apparent that there was no crab at all, just cheese, which was pretty disappointing. They were honestly some of the worst I have tried. The wonton soup was not great either. It did not taste like wonton soup I have had before and was also sort of bland. That said, it was still edible. Now for the bigger issues. The chicken with snow peas was extremely bland, like no seasoning was added at all. The chicken itself was watery and tasted very cheap, which made the whole dish pretty unappetizing. The beef lo mein had the same problem. I have never had lo mein this flavorless before. The noodles and beef both lacked any real taste and just did not come together well. The last thing I will say is that it is overpriced for what you get. The portion sizes are solid, but the flavor and quality do not match the price at all. I am not someone who usually criticizes restaurants or even leaves reviews, but this was a major letdown. I just want to help others avoid spending their hard earned money on food that does not live up to expectations.

We ordered the fried tofu (with peppers and onions), orange chicken, fried fish fillet, and veggie delight (mixed veggies). The fried fish fillet was definitely the standout. Perfectly crispy on the outside with a light, tangy layer of sauce that added flavor without making it soggy. Easily my favorite dish of the meal. The fried tofu was also really solid and flavorful with just the right amount of spice. The peppers and onions complemented it well without overpowering the tofu itself. The orange chicken was okay. I tend to compare orange chicken to Panda Express (probably unfair, but it's my benchmark), and this one didn't quite hit that same balance of crispiness and sauce. I think if it had a bit more meat within each piece, would be better. The mixed vegetables were decent but not something I'd order again. They felt a bit drenched in sauce and didn't have much depth in flavor. One of the highlights of the visit was meeting an elderly woman who helps out when it gets busy. She mentioned she was the former owner. She was incredibly kind, and we ended up having a really nice conversation in Mandarin. That personal touch made the experience even more memorable. Otherwise, really nice venue with lots of space and tables. Waiters always refilled my water, which is a good plus. Also gave me fresh rice when I took the leftovers to go. Overall, a solid meal with a couple standout dishes. I'd definitely come back for the fried fish fillet and tofu. Will be back to try their other dishes.

Service was quick to take the order, refill water and clear out empty plates/steamer baskest. The dishes coming out of the kitchen was at a more erratic pace, but it's all about the food. Mapo tofu was good, with a light slick of chili oil. The flavors were spot on with little chunks of fermented salted broad beans. The heat was also moderate, but it did have a kick as you were eating it. That signature mala numbing spiciness started building, but not hot enough for my palate. Green beans were also nice and tender. Sometimes when they come out the fryer, the skin can be a little leathery, but wasn't present here. BBQ Buns were very soft and tender, loaded with BBQ pork. The shao mai had a nice bouncy texture and cooked well. Shrimp Lo Mein had the flavors of the Chinese American classic, it looks like the noodles were hand made too. Only miss was the shrimp dumplings. They were too close to each other and they stuck together. The wrapper was also overcooked, but somehow the shrimp was not. Nearly impossible to pickup with chopsticks, because the wrapped just fell apart, even with a delicate touch. Worth a stop and probably tastiest Chinese food in the neighborhood.
