5/5 for food quality and quantity!! Placed an online order and they were fast as well as the food was hot when we got it. They have two types of chow mein - soft and crispy. I got there veggie crispy chow mein and it was definitely crispy!! It was the right amount of spicy. The Szechwan veggie fried rice was also amazing! The best part about this place was the quantity of the food, each dish would definitely last me two meals (including the fried wontons). AND the price is also reasonable.. spent $45 for all of this for 2 people. Would highly recommend, not sure about their dine-in option though. read more

Excellent Cantonese food. We ordered 14 dishes for a family event delivered to Richmond by Uber eats. Everything was very tasty from the curry to chop suey. Not a fan of the dry pork dish. Always our favourite Chinese go to!! read more

AVOID....! Are you kidding me?! The only reason this place is getting one star is because I couldn't give it less. This is the worst Chinese food I have ever had in my life. I was scrolling through Uber Eats to try a new place and get a delivery and I thought this place might be great. NOPE! The Kung Pow Chicken had barely any chicken and it tasted flavorless. To be honest I am not even sure I was eating chicken. The dish was mostly made up of vegetables with little to no meat. The spring rolls were so soggy and fried the grease dripped from the roll as it was picked up. The pot stickers were like little saturated bags of failure with the only thing helping any resemblance of flavor was a hot sauce packet... And now for the Vegetable Chow Mein... We ordered the "soft noodle" but what showed up was gooey veggies sitting on top of an uncooked 13¢ packet of top ramen... When digging deep inside the uncooked noodles one or two noodles where found actually cooked next to it's crunchy counterparts. I hope this helps others make the decision to not ruin their meals or waste their time with this. Honestly I would have been happier rummaging through my garbage can for dinner. I ordered a food delivery from this restaurant this evening and was very disappointed in one of the dishes. I have ordered from here before and the for was quite good but this time the Fried Beef with rice noodles (Chow Fun) was terrible. The noodles were dry and stuck together in one big clump and were the consistency of hard rubber. Inedible! Will not be ordering from here again. read more

We ordered from there tonight in one such emergency and here is what I recommend..... 1) Breaded almond chicken and don't forget the lemon sauce 2) Mixed vegetables and cashew nuts 3) beef chow mein 3) sweet and sour pork I find whenever we order from here I am always blown away by the portion sizes, and the best part is there is always leftovers for me to pack in my lunch for the next day. and one more noteworthy mentions is on their takeout menu they have a coupon that states if you purchase over 25 dollars you get four free egg-roles. read more

Chickity China the Chinese Chicken! Hot diggity! I have never actually been in this restaurant, but I have walked by it and ordered many a takeout item from them. The restaurant itself leaves much to be desired, it kind of looks like a cafeteria when I walk by, only smaller. But what do I know, I haven't even been in? Anyways, we order the wonton soup (yum), the mushroom chow mein (also yum), the country-style bean curd (double yum) and sometimes we'll get some crispy noodle garbage that my boyfriend likes, but really isn't my favourite but it's because I like soft noodles and not crispy ones. In any case, we all love the dishes we pick, and we usually share them, except for crispy noodle-face. Because we have ordered so much, we usually get free egg-rolls too! (If you spend more than $20 you have to ask for them though). So not only does everything taste great, you also get free egg-rolls. It's all totally decently priced, and it shows up to your house so fast and so hot that you burn your tongue on the egg-rolls because you are so excited to eat them and they smell so good! ! You can also ask for your stuff to be MSG free, I have never tried this though because I want to be well preserved. read more

MMMM oh man this chinese food is amazing! I order delivery from New Sun pretty regularly now, including last night, and it's worth the wait. I can eat 2 full plates of the food with the wife and still have leftovers for lunch for under 30 bucks! Huge fan of the veggie chow mein, the spicy tofu (best!) and the sweet and sour prawns. The egg rolls are so yummy and you get four free with your order over $25 bucks, and reeeally nice people bring it to your door in a heat sealed bag. Just solid western Chinese food. Spring rolls - quite possibly the best I've ever had. Crunchy and well seasoned. Spicy Tofu - crispy, good sizes and packs a punch that doesn't over power the rest of the meal. Vegetable Fried Rice - perfectly seasoned, crunchy veg, and just ten out of ten. Mixed vegetables - great variety, still crunchy, maybe a tiny bit too much sauce but still good. Mali Thai is my goto Thai place and this is for sure my new goto Chinese food place. It is simply wrong to give customers a specific pickup time and then make them wait 20 minutes past that. This is not okay. Especially not if your niche is fast take-out. The food was acceptable for the fast+cheap category. Chow mein was more soggy than the advertised "crispy", but it's a $10 takeout dish that feeds two. Still, considering they spectacularly failed the speed test, even two stars feels generous. If you can spare a few bucks more, head over to Congee Noodle House instead, way better bang for your buck and the food is better too. read more

My go to place for greasy old school westernized Chinese food. Solid choice for delivery, great deal if you are dining alone and don't want to cook. The portion is large enough to have another full meal from your left overs. If you like hot sauce, don't forget to order the chilli oil sauce from here. Don't order the wontons. So gross. Cartilage and tasteless soaked in yellow peanut sauce!? Not completely sure but I ordered chilli wontons which is not what I got. I ordered from here tonight and I gotta admit, I was real disappointed. I've had delivery from here once before, at a friends house, and remembered it being tasty. Tonight... not so much. Everything I ordered was bland and incredibly greasy. The tastiest part of the meal was the broccoli in my beef and broccoli. My sesame chicken... I'm not even sure any part of it ever came from a living animal. Based on my order tonight, I'd probably have ranked New Sun with a 1-2 star, but since I know I've had better food from here before, I've bumped it up to a 3. addendum: The food tasted waaaay better after a night in the fridge. I moved from Burnaby several months ago and was sad to leave my favorite Chinese food place behind. I was hesitant to try a new Chinese food place because I know I've been spoiled by a high caliber of quality and deliciousness! Today I decided to order from New Sun Restaurant and- I was not disappointed! The deliveryman came quickly- I ordered at 7pm and my order arrived within half an hour. For a dish review, my order was: House Chow Mein- crunchy noodle style: Delicious! Large portion, fantastic mix of vegetable and meat (chicken) toppings, delicious sauce. Beef and Broccoli: Also delicious. I was impressed by the fair amount of beef mixed in with the broccoli- some places really cheap out and there's just a few measly pieces in it but, not New Sun :) Chicken in Cashew or Almond: Well, it wasn't not delicious. The breading was very good, and the nut pieces were good, but... there is also something dry and sweet added to the nut mixture that is overpowering. I don't want my chicken to be sweet, and the sugary powder on it turned me off. I will eat what I can of it by removing as much of the powder as I can or aiming for the powder-free breaded pieces toward the bottom of the container. In conclusion: Despite the chicken- I will definitely order again and will just try another dish instead of it. Fast delivery, delicious food, generous portions, no cheaping out = success! read more

Pretty much as expected. Delivery was faster than expected (!!!) I mean, I don't expect miracles from Chinese delivery, but this was met expectations - delivered food, greasy, and hot. The almond chicken was a little dry and over-sugared for my tastes, but the BBQ Pork chow mein was good, and the veggies with cashews were similarly good. Egg rolls were crispy. After waiting an hour and 45 minutes for our food to be delivered (we live fairly close) we received what I must say is literally the worst food I have ever ingested. Ever. Everything tasteless. They managed to screw up chowmein which I feel is pretty fool proof. They also managed to screw up vegetables. Trust me when I say, this whole meal tasted like a mixture of oil and nothing, with bits of chicken that did not look like chicken. really good stuff! i took someone else's recommendation of the chow mein (A+++) and Almond chicken (breaded and comes without sauce, so if you want it wet, get the sauce for the un-breaded lemon chicken.) the sesame chicken is also very nice if you're looking for something like general tsao's. also the egg rolls were very cheap. since they dont have a menu online, i hope that helps. also make sure you request NO MSG! its written on the front of their menu, but if you're ordering blind like me, its good to know. read more

Dry deep fried spare ribs with garlic. Man this place is good. I don't get the bad reviews at all - It's our local delivery spot and we tried all the locals - hot delivery, sun garden, timkee and this place is hands down the best. Now - realize this is Canadian style chinese food - you know deep fried chicken balls and that (I'm sure it's the most unhealthiest thing ever) red goo type chinese food. Terrible! My wife and I just tried this place and are both still up at 3:00am with a bucket by the bed. The kitchen looked messy and sketchy when I went in but I thought "how bad can a vegetable fried rice and a Mongolian beef be?". The rice dish had a weird brown color and tasted rancid. The "beef" tasted like no other Mongolian beef ever - god awful stringy bad flavor and I doubt it was beef. Chinese food in a food court would be considered five star vs this crap. read more
