This beautifully roasted duck spoiled me with its crispy skin, tender meat, and rich, irresistible flavor. My taste buds are already begging for another little date here, so I'd happily come back someday and enjoy every delicious bite all over again.

We sat down to delicious warm logan black tea. The menu is relatively small but on point. Fast and attentive service. We really enjoyed both the 3-meat platter and fried rice. The restaurant could have been an Irish pub, or an old school deli... somehow it works!

How did I not know about Chinatown BBQ until now?! I've found my new holy grail because this is hands-down the best BBQ duck and BBQ pork I have ever had! We started with a plate of the BBQ Duck, and it was absolute perfection--packed with so much lean, incredibly flavorful meat. Then we ordered the Signature Four Treasures Chef's Plate on Steamed Rice. Talk about a masterpiece! It comes with BBQ Pork, Soy Sauce Chicken, Roasted Pork, and half a Salty Duck Egg. Honestly, every single element was so delicious that I genuinely couldn't pick a favorite. To top off an already amazing meal, their black lychee tea was out of this world. I loved it so much I actually asked if I could buy some to take home! They don't retail it, but the staff was so sweet and told me, "You can drink as much as you like here." Challenge absolutely accepted! The staff kept it perfectly topped up the entire time. Excellent food, wonderful service, and all the cozy, classic vibes. More cha cha cha please! I will definitely be back.

OMG! Their roasted pork is wow! Crispy! Salty! Juicy!! One of the best roasted pork that I've had! Their duck and char sui was solid! Loved that they serve warm tea for free! Friendly people working here! Definitely a memorable meal!

If anyone is craving for some yummy classic Chinese BBQ meats, highly recommend coming here :) Visited this place with a group of friends for lunch. Overall, it was a pleasant experience and everyone left with a food coma. Things to Note: -Parking: Limited to street only -Time: We came during peak lunch hours and waited over an hour. Highly recommend coming early morning or after the main lunch time if you don't want to wait. -Service: Shoutout to the lovely and friendly host who helped keep the queue orderly and making sure everyone was taken care of. He was super attentive to everything from the beginning to the end. -Food Ordering: If you're waiting in line, definitely try to place your food order with the host. By the time you get your table, food should be coming out soon after. Worked well for my group since we didn't wait too long for our feast. -Food Portion: If you're in a group of 4+ and want to sample a bit of every meat, I do suggest going with ordering the small plate vs the platter. For my group of 5, we ended up eating almost all of our dishes and it was the perfect portion. -The Meats: Ordered 1 of each meat off the menu and wowzer! Everything was super yummy, and most notably the crispy pork and the Hong Kong BBQ pork. - Sides: Also ordered the Brisket curry and caí lan with garlic crisp. Curry was delicious with the softest & most tender brisket and the veggie dish was a nice side to all the meats. In summary, Chinatown BBQ is a solid 5/5 for me for the meats and cheers to supporting small local businesses :)

Another IG worthy spot in Chinatown and great for entertaining out of town guests because of its traditional decor and excellent service. No reservations taken here so my tip is to visit on a non rainy day to avoid waiting in the rain. Also, it is much more pleasant to experience walking around Chinatown when not raining. As for food, I can honestly share that there are other places in Richmond, Vancouver and Burnaby that serves authentic HK style BBQ meats. Yet, this place is unique where it's photo ready and offers great service, which is ideal choice for out of town visitors if you already have plans to tour around Chinatown. 3-5 pm happy hour from Tues to Fri could be another good time to visit during your Chinatown tours where you can get a taste of their BBQ meats and pair it with a drink = awesome East meets West experience!

This is a revived institution and revived well. I don't know for sure if I ever went to the original but I really love this place. The service was amazing,.. which almost does NOT seem authentic for Chinatown but I like it :) Tasty BBQ options, I liked it all but honestly it was the interior with historic photos and plaques that made it special for us. Chinatown has importance even for those of us 2nd generation Vancouverites that don't have direct Chinese heritage and this place embodies my childhood memories and all the right ways May this place be here forever even if it is a reboot.

One of my favorite places to get roasted pork and a mandatory stop every time I visit Vancouver. They get quite busy during lunch but are super efficient. After ordering, food comes quickly, and unlimited tea refills. Food is good, but their tea is AMAZING and so fragrant and they are not stingy about refills. I love that the roasted pork is not very salty (a common pitfall of many places) and the skin is so crispy. Their menu is simple and flavors are traditional. Nothing experimental here. Just classic good quality food. I prefer my roasted pork less fatty so I requested that (they said they couldn't promise it, totally understandable) but they made it happen! Restaurant feels clean. Parking can be a hassle at times since it's mostly street parking.

October 25, 2026 - I took a week trip for a vacation and to try out the cuisine in Vancouver. We were looking for something to eat on the first day and I was looking online to see what the best restaurant in Vancouver's Chinatown was. Chinatown BBQ was the one that was highly recommended. We got the following dishes: - Signature four treasures chefs plate on steamed rice (BBQ Pork, Soy Sauce Chicken, Roast Pork, 1/2 a salty duck egg) - 2 x BBQ meat on steamed rice: BBQ Duck and roast pork Soy Chicken and Roast Pork - Gai Lan with roasted garlic crisp oil The restaurant was packed when we got there, which is always a good sign. Overall the food was really good. The meats were very flavourful, rich, and sauced very well. It is very similar to Toronto quality Chinese BBQ. My only complaint was the sauce on the Gai Lan was a bit salty. My mom's complain was the redness coming from the bone of the chicken. Our lovely server, Bobby, explained that's how the chicken was made and that it was safe to eat. He was saying that's the Chinese style of cooking the chicken. Bobby was an extremely welcoming server as he took the time to explain it and provided my mom with a complimentary soy chicken leg in which he blow torched and cooked all the way through for my mom. Overall, the food was really good and it lived up to expectations.

Service was warm and outstanding from the moment we walked in--we were greeted right away, and our tea and water were refilled without even asking. We felt genuinely welcomed throughout the meal. My husband ordered the BBQ pork rice plate, which was lean and flavorful, though next time we'd probably go for the marble cut for more richness. I had the half roast duck and half roast pork combo, and we added a side of garlic gai lan (Chinese broccoli), which was perfectly cooked and packed with flavor. We truly enjoyed everything we ordered and would highly recommend this spot if you're visiting Vancouver's Chinatown!

A Must-Try Spot in Vancouver's Chinatown! I came here on a recommendation, and wow--it did not disappoint! I've never had soy sauce chicken so silky and flavorful. The roasted pork belly was the perfect combo of juicy and crispy, and the Gai Lan was cooked just right--tender with a nice bite. The fried rice was packed with flavor and tied everything together beautifully. This place has truly mastered the art of Chinese BBQ. If you're craving a solid BBQ plate, this is the spot. I really enjoyed everything we ordered and would highly recommend stopping in if you're visiting Vancouver's Chinatown.

Being a fan of all things Chinese bbq, we decided to check out Chinatown BBQ in the heart of Vancouver's Chinatown district. For myself, I got the combo of crispy pork belly and the bbq pork. Both were tasty but the pork belly was a bit of the drier side. It needed a sauce of some sort. I asked if they had Chinese hot mustard but all they had was regular mustard. We also got a some Chinese sausage on the side which was tasty as well. My friend got the duck, and I wasn't a big fan. Didn't have much flavor to it. From a price point perspective it's not an inexpensive meal. Based on taste and flavor I thought it was average compared to what I get back home in the Bay Area. I think if it's what you are craving though, it'll hit the spot.

Char siu is so fatty that it pretty much melts in your mouth and the outside is the perfect balance of sweet and savory. The soy sauce chicken is just incredible. She said it was so good! Hei Hei Rice Roll is located at the Richmond Public Market, oh wow - this place is really popular, on the 2nd visit I was the first in line then the line wasn't so long but while waiting for our order, the line got super long. I was lucky I didn't wait long in line. Best to arrive early. I am not sure what the secret to the rice roll but Wow, it's so thin, silky, smooth texture with the toppings, so great together. The last 2 times we had rice roll with my daughter at Portland and Seattle- followed per Instagram reels- those did not even compare to these rolls. My first visit I got the combo which is the best deals, starts at $15.50 but depends on what you select for the selection for rice rolls and congee. I got the pork & preserved egg congee, shrimp, mushroom, pork rice roll. The 2nd visit I got the combo again, with liver & preserved egg congee, scallop and shrimp rice rolls, but I got my order wrong for the roll- they missed the shrimp. fyi-I found out that bean sprout, corn, toppings are free! Both combo came out to $17. super cheap! Cash only, they take USD but its the same dollar $ value. I wish they take credit cards, hehe. & the Verdict: Yummy, the congee hits the spot for comfort food, loved how it is cooked and they add peanuts too. Love the packet of sauce for the rice rolls, the umami-ness, so good. Best to eat it hot and fresh! Don't forget to ask for chili sauce, to add that extra spicy kick! For now, I am not sure I'll ever find a spot that is closest to Hei Hei for my congee and rice roll fix until I get to visit Richmond, BC again.
